Hands down, we LOVE these lamps. I purchased 2 of these lamps for use on our nightstands in our bedroom. If you are considering purchasing the lamps, I recommend taking a tape measure and measuring where the lamp will go so that you have a visual. It is a little bit on the large size for a nightstand or small table. If you were going to place this on a console table, it's perfect, but for smaller tables, make sure that it's not too large for you. Also, I was concerned that based on the photo, the lamp would be quite gold. While there is a gold hue, it's not a yellow lamp. It's the perfect mix of silver/gold tones, beautiful mercury glass. I found that this was a really great lamp when comparing to other mercury glass lamps. Highly recommend!

This lamp is so beautiful! The slots in between shine the bulbs in your eyes. I just slide a piece of paper when I am sitting there and it helps. For that reason the glass should be wider. I would have given a 5 star if not for that. It's a beautiful and elegant lamp and I love the color of the base and I love the touch lamp. It's so easy. You will love it!!!

Made in China is the only instruction that you get, and its printed in bold on the box. This is a desk lamp with low luminance. Its output is similar to an old low wattage incandescent light bulb. The color of the light is not akin to halogen bulbs at all. Maybe its the heavy frosting of the cover. I did not return the product, and I'm trying to find a reasonable use for it. I do not recommend this product.

I bought two of these lamps for my living room, when they were on sale. The lamps were packed fairly well, although they were packed in two very different sized boxes and had me worried that I had been shipped two different products when I arrived home to see them sitting on my front porch. The shades arrived without a dent, which was my biggest concern. The base of the lamp is a very heavy, sturdy steel. Each ball is the size of a baseball, to give you a better idea of the size of this lamp. The shades are less white than what is pictured, but just slightly, like an off white.

Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. One minor flaw is that one of the shades has a manufacturing imperfection; a faint "ring" that runs around the middle of the shade. It is only visible when the lamp is on, and even then would only be visible if someone was looking directly at the lamp. Instead of going through the hassle of returning the lamp, I just put that lamp where I expect it will be used infrequently.

THis is a great lamp for reading and general illumination. The height and angle adjustments, plus the ability to direct the light in different directions, make this the most versatile lamp in the house. It's solidly built, heavy, very stable -even the cats working together can't tip this puppy over. Yes, it's about twice the price I've ever paid for a lamp, but I expect it will last a lot longer. And did I say it's beautiful? Right now it's on my bedside dresser with a 100-watt-equivalent fluorescent bulb--it can reach well across the bed to light up my book. This hansome light fixture is a great match for the iron bedframe and has an added benefit of positioning the cantilever such that the light illuminates over my shoulder. This makes it great for reading. The switch is easy to find on the base even while groggy in the dark. Easy to assemble and well packed.

Very modern looking. Quite heavy, very sturdy. Lamp arm swivels side to side which is what I was looking for. Shade will tilt a bit up and down as well. If the arm would raise up and down it would be perfect... It is a little larger than I expected but I did not read the dimensions closely. I use it on bedside table and it works great for reading. On/Off switch on the base is a plus. I wish I had a place for the floor model as the design is very unique.

We love this lamp which we bought along with the matching floor lamp. The only problem was that the back arm was way longer than it needed to be and would bang on the wall if we tried to turn it. Being a handy fellow, I just took the counterweight off and cut 6" off the arm and reinstalled the weight. It works just fine and is not tippy at all. Simple fix.

Really cool lamp. Came in styrofoam that went everywhere though. Bad packaging but was safe. After getting it out of the monstrous package it was bulbless. Plus the special bulbs it needs are only made in China (very bad idea there). So they don't sell these Chinese bulbs anywhere other than Home Despot. So I had to give the bastards $3.00 for two bulbs plus it went out of country. Well the lamp looks very cool but I'll have to spend $100 on American products now to offest my guilty conscience.

The lamp does look extremely kick-ass among my frog king collection. If you like groovy lamps or collect frog kings like me then this is a very cool addition. It doesn't put out much light but has a more decorative feel with an ambient vibe to the light.

I'd probably give this lamp 5 stars but as for the obtuse bulb situation and the outrageous package it came in I had to knock off a star for integrity.

Handiest thing to have in a den/office area as well extra lighting near a chair. Will 'flex' all the way up if needed.

Rec'd yesterday and now in place on top of PC processor. The on/off button type switch is a plus. Noticed when incandescent ONLY 40 watt in place, the globe heated up fast. Switched to a 60w CFL and very good. That heating occurred in the other one also.

As a college student, lamps are necessary especially when it's time to study and the day's light has gone. Seeing all the wonderful reviews for this lamp, I decided to jump on the bandwagon and purchase. Unfortunately, I wish I had not. The lamp came and seemed to be in perfect condition. Excitedly, I put in a proper bulb, plugged it in, and turned on the switch. No light. Alright, so I decided to try another bulb just in case but to no avail. I learned that there was no problem with the bulb but an internal defect with the lamp. Disappointed, I wish I'd used my money on something else. Considering the other reviews, it might work for you. For me, I'm not taking that chance again.

Great little lamp. Small though, perfect for next to a bedside (I have mine on top of a small book case next to my bed). Does not seem to get too hot in use, but I have only used it for a couple of minutes at a time. Keep in mind it is has a very small neck, probably only about 9 inches long.

Good basic desk lamp.. I bought this for work but I am not currently using it since my other (fluorescent lamps) are now working, and this is a backup to those. The light it emits with a CFL bulb is slightly different in color than the light from my fluorescent tube bulb lamps. So I don't use them together. For my job this lamp is a little glaring but I'm sure it would work well on my desk at home. I really like the switch being on the base instead of having one of those turning switches at the top of the lamp behind the bulb. That type of turning switch usually will malfunction after a year or two of use. Hopefully this toggle type switch will last longer.

I am very pleased with this lamp. It is very bright for 3 watt (total power consumption is 4.2W) LED. I measured at 12 inches from the LED and got about 70 foot-candles. I measured my Sunlight Desk Lamp with Natural Full Spectrum (27W) Fluorescent bulb and got 100 foot-candles @12in. The Rosewill LED with a temperature of 5000k is not as bright and not as white. The design of the Rosewill is better looking than Full Spectrum lamps.

I had not initially planned on writing a review of this lamp, but it so impressed me that I changed my mind. This is a very nice lamp for the price. Yes it is made of plastic, but it is a good grade of plastic that is not flimsy and doesn't seem fragile. It has a hinge at the base and another at the top, so you could actually flatten the whole thing out for compact storage. It stands over seventeen inches high thereby illuminating a nice area of my desk; this height even clears my 27" monitor so I can have it close to my work and yet it's not in the way of the monitor. The on/off button is conveniently located on the underside of the top horizontal member.

It is powered by a switching power supply (wall wart by another name). This is a good thing because I found battery powered LED lamps deficient. The batteries don't last long, and as they weaken, the light starts to dim. It consumes 4.3 watts total power. It is claimed to have a color rendering value of Ra90, which is basically saying that it can render a standard eight color test pattern fairly accurately. I like the color rendering, based on my observation, but you'll have to take their word on the actual value.

It provides a diffuse light of about 5000K color temperature which makes it a more natural colored light, and the light can be situated right in front of my monitor without washing out the display. This is an LED light, but you can't see any of the LED's. There is some kind of diffuser through which the light shines which works quite well. When lit, the diffuser shines very brightly providing sufficient illumination for the desktop.

In a word: recommended!

I ordered two of these. Both had the same problem. The lower adjustment could not be tightened to hold the lamp upright. It is a cheap plastic cap over a metal pin. The cap is designed for the user to use a flat blade screw driver to tighten or loosen the hinge. Less than 1 turn and it broke into pieces. Happened on both lamps. If I could have tightened the pin with pliers, I would keep the lamp. Even that failed to secure the lamp upright. In every other way the lamp is well designed. They skimped on quality at the most used joint.

Very nice looking lamp, bright led.

The one I had received was defective the on/off switch didn't work, and the light was always on.

Well, the replacement was sent immediately after the claim submission, that was good.

Now the bad part you pay for the shipment of the returned item!

Although it is sold by the manufacturer (Rosewill), the support did not agree to cover the shipment back of the defective lamp.

I chose a 2-star rating because the product is very cheaply made. On the lamp it says "tighten screws to fasten" when you tighten the screw it breaks off making the lamp worthless because it cannot stand up.

Very poorly made. The 2-star rating is because the light was actually a nice bright white..

I would not recommend this product to anyone, and I am extremely disappointed with it because I also had to pay to return it to the seller.. Basically wasted my money on shipping..

I love this lamp so much. It sparkles like nothing else I've ever seen. It was very easy to put together and adds so much to my bedroom. Downside...the whole frame of the top square part of the lamp is crooked. I was so sad when I realized that. It's basically unfixable. I was not about to undo all my work and send it back when I had already assembled it. Other bad part was...I was missing about 3 of the small wire pieces that holds the crystal strands. I think for that kind of money...a spare strand or two wouldn't be such a bad idea. As my floral wire doesn't look to "classy" as a replacement.

I wanted to create a crystal, chandelier, mirror and lots of lighting look. I couldnt put a chandelier in the bathroom, so I bought a cabinet just high enough that would allow for a nice lamp on top. This looks very nice. It is very nice quality and puts out enough light by itself.
