For Christmas a year ago, my 11 year old daughter received a small budget to use for redecorating her room. She wanted to go 'dogs'. This lamp has been in her room (moved around-unbeknownst to me until recently) and used several times a day and it is in amazing condition. Sturdy, strong and works perfectly. I worried initially because I was buying it online... I was concerned about the glass pieces during shipping and it's a touch lamp...hadn't seen one of these in years. I wondered about the quality. But, no worries. It arrived safely packaged and all we had to do was plug it in (like I said, it's been through a lot now and it's in perfect shape). The photos of the dogs are just so sweet. (She loves it)

This lamp fits my décor perfectly and looks like I spent a lot more for it than it cost. Although the shade was entirely wrapped and appeared to be fully protected, there was a small discoloration on the shade. My solution was to turn the lamp so the smudge was on the back side of the lamp.

This is an inexpensive little lamp so I didn't expect anything special. I got it because I wanted a very small lamp to sit on a side table in the entry hall. It doesn't look quite like the photo in the product description (from any angle); the top "stem" where the bulb and shade attaches is more prominent. It's okay for what I wanted it for, but it's not quite as cute as I thought it was going to be. It is very lightweight; I was almost concerned that the power cord itself was going to pull it off the table. It does come with a long-life bulb, which is a plus. I'm not unhappy with the purchases, but I probably would have gotten something else if I knew how it actually looked.

As other reviewers have stated this is a small lamp. It does give off a bright light, however, not sure why it has a black cord seems clear or white would have been better.

this is a classic lamp that looks much more expensive than it is. it has a solid base and the proper dimensions and detail to fit in a library or office. the only thing that im not crazy about is the gold thread on the lampshade, which close up looks a little bit arts&crafts, but its not that noticeable unless youre 6 inches from it, and its not a deal breaker. in fact, i ordered a second one because i really loved the overall look of the lamp and the classic brass and black color scheme. its also worth mentioning that this lamp provides very elegant light (it comes with 3 compact florescents but i prefer good old fashion 25 watt incandescent bulbs) because of the black opaque shade with gold interior reflects the light very nicely.

While I would have preferred the red or white version that also appear on the Amazon Website, neither, unfortunately, was available. The LED light source has proven both very bright and also unexpectedly durable. I've had no problem with these lamps at all and would purchase another color any time.

This lamp did not meet my expectations. The design is beautiful, bu the plastic hardware cheapens the overall look of it a bit. The general size of it was much larger than it appears in the photo, and it simply did not mesh with the overall theme of my cubicle at work. It's a great conversation piece exactly the kind of disruption I did not want in a cubicle. The lighting that it provides is minimal, so I had a very concentrated work space. Overall not a good purchase for my needs so I returned the lamp, which was a very easy process with a great customer service experience.

Really cool lamp. Came in styrofoam that went everywhere though. Bad packaging but was safe. After getting it out of the monstrous package it was bulbless. Plus the special bulbs it needs are only made in China (very bad idea there). So they don't sell these Chinese bulbs anywhere other than Home Despot. So I had to give the bastards $3.00 for two bulbs plus it went out of country. Well the lamp looks very cool but I'll have to spend $100 on American products now to offest my guilty conscience.

The lamp does look extremely kick-ass among my frog king collection. If you like groovy lamps or collect frog kings like me then this is a very cool addition. It doesn't put out much light but has a more decorative feel with an ambient vibe to the light.

I'd probably give this lamp 5 stars but as for the obtuse bulb situation and the outrageous package it came in I had to knock off a star for integrity.

I naturally assumed since the lamp was originally priced at $299.99 that it would be of great quality however the two lamps that I received were not so great. I would have returned them if I would have paid full price! Both of the shades are dented in a couple of places, not a good look and the resin is sloppy at the base. If I saw these at a store I would not have paid even the $49.99. I have asked several of my friends what they thought I paid for the lamps and no one has guessed more than $39.99.

This is a beautiful lamp, and it just changed the look of my living room. The reddish Orange glow inside the mesh shades is indeed very cool. It has a very contemporary look. I have a metal wall art painting in my living room and I am pointing one of the shades towards it, and it just perfectly highlights the art work. Highly recommended.

My lamp doesn't stand really straight... it lists to the side a bit, just enough to be distracting though. And it's shiny steel, not brushed, so it looks cheap to me. I tried directing the individual lamps to highlight pictures on the wall but it doesn't really have the right angle adjustments to do that effectively and if it shines on a picture with glass covering it, the reflection of the lamp beams back at you (not good). And so far I haven't had luck directing the lamps to help me read sitting in my chair either. If it weren't such a hassle to try to get it packaged up for return, I would do it. It comes fully assembled so it's a big box to deal with. The lamps don't really have a reddish glow to them, so don't expect that. I think I learned that ordering big items like this from a store I can return them to makes more sense.

Best solar lamp out there!!! A friend recommended this lamp to me. I was a bit hesitant because I `d never purchased a solar lamp before, but after reading the customer reviews and seeing the 2-year warranty, I decided to give it a try. Great decision ... it's a terrific lamp! It shipped immediately, which was great. Of course I wanted to try it out right away, but it was late in the day. Still, with only a couple hours of sunlight, I was amazed by how many hours of light I got out of it. I also liked how compact, yet efficient the panel was. It's also great to have three options, depending on how much light I actually need. I've found that Spot Mode is awesome for reading. Normal Mode gave off plenty of light for my general needs, but it's nice to have the Turbo Mode option, if I need that much light. Very pleased with my purchase!!!

This review is for all three types of the Sun King lamps. I just received them last week and so far so good!

First off, all three charged super easily with the sunlight coming in my kitchen window. The pro version charged my BlackBerry up, which is great as I don't have to hunt for an open outlet somewhere in my house now. I was worried it wouldn't fit my model, but there were a few included. The Solo and Eco models are just as cool for what they are supposed to do...charge and light up!

Super easy to set up, super useful. I put the Eco in my car for emergencies and will be using the Solo in the backyard for extra lighting on my staircase that is a too dark at night when guests are over. I'm excited my friend told me about solar options. If you are looking for solar lamps, you have to try these out!

Check out my other review of the Pro unit, but I purchased all three to compare and am extremely pleased. The main difference between this model and the pro seems to be the LCD display (that indicates charging time and quality of solar charging) and the actual size/brightness of the product.

I really like this unit's compact design. The light lasts well through the night and both the light and the solar panel are extremely sturdy. I was especially surprised at how bright the light gives off -it's quite impressive.

I actually shipped this light off to my relatives in Indonesia -they live in a rural part of the country that experiences at least weekly power outages, so I am hoping that this light will come in handy. Given this price point, you will be pleased with your purchase.

I love it, the light is good enough to light a room, it has a pretty bright flashlight mode, it is very durable, the battery lasts for hours, I charged it for 1 day and it gave me a good 25 hours of light. I sent some to my family in Africa, they fell in love with it, really helps them get a lot done at night with all the power outages they get.

Ordered these to give my patio seating area enough light to see people, but not so much we attract bugs. They are doing the job perfectly! They look great, instant atmosphere and no bugs! The solar panels are the icing on the cake. Who can ever remember to pick up batteries? I started with 2 lights, ordered 4 more to add a little more atmosphere and to be able to see a little better. I've tried lots of other options. These are the best because they do give enough light to see -not read, but you can easily find your glass of wine on the table.

These do work as described. They are cheap however, but I had expected that for the price. We have to put them away at night since they are so light they sometimes blow off the deck table. You have to unscrew them to turn them on and they do provide some ambient light that looks nice. After done, you have to turn them off them upside down to charge. When upside down, actually sitting on their top, they do not sit flat since the top is rounded somewhat, a silly design flaw. I will look for others soon that are higher quality and look better.

This appears to be a decent option. I am mainly using it to park in the window so I can use them during power outages. We seem to loose power fairly often, especially during tornado season. This lamp is a good idea and it works, it just does not put out much light by itself--it is like a very dim nightlight. I also purchased a Blackout Buddy. Although it requires electricity to charge, it appears to be a much superior product.

Buyer beware!Having bought this lightweight,cheaply made light

I must say that the ad itself is misleading.

Pictured are two of these lamps. You will receive only one!

An overpriced lamp,(for just one),and just plain cheaply made.....

It does work however,...the lamp produces a warm glow.

I am unsure how long the light will shine but the thing works.

We'll use it in the sleeping berth of out sailboat.....and I'll

see then about the longevity of the glow.
