This is a cute little lamp, perfect for my nightstand. I like the fact that it's small, and especially the fact that the base is pretty tiny (but not too much, so that it would tip over). If you have several items on your nightstand, as I do (tissues, clock, candles, photo, reading glasses, book, etc), the smaller size of this lamp is a definite advantage just in terms of saving space. It's also very attractive (I have a lot of chrome and blue in my room), and I don't mind the switch being on the cord. In fact, it's probably better with a lamp of this size. Finally, my main concern was that it would be too dim, since it is small and the shade is a pretty dark color. But using a 60 watt bulb puts out plenty of light...enough to read by at night with no other lights on. And you can't beat the price!

This is a nice, little, sophisticated bedside lamp. It's not big enough in my opinion to be a table lamp. I wasn't paying attention to what kind of bulb it needed. I should have ordered bulbs for it, but I totally spaced out on the fact that this needs a candelabra bulb. It's no big deal, though. It looks nice on the nightstand. It may just be my monitor settings or something, but the promo picture makes this look a little purple. My own photo isn't true to the color, either, It really is a deep, dark navy blue, which is exactly what I wanted. I don't like the switch on the cord. I prefer to have on/off on the lamp itself, but this was more for decorative purposes and not for everyday use. A good value on a good lamp.

The lamp is unisex and can work with any decour. Arrived within two days of purchase via USPS. It weighs next to nothing but is not flimsy. The round steele color base has it standing firmly and surely. The shade is a dark navy fabric with just a hint of deep purple. It takes a tiny 7W bulb which illumites a small area but gives the whole room a nice warm dim light. The whole thing is a bit taller than a roll of paper towels. Nice buy for the price.

I bought this for my three year old's bedroom. He has a room with trucks and a lot of blue. I wasn't sure how the color would match the other blue in his room, but it goes great. Just a nice, normal blue. It uses a little light bulb and puts out a decent amount of light for bedtime stories. Perfect and cheap...looks nice and should last a while. :)

Great little lamp! I bought 2 of these, one for each of my son's room. Well one of my sons doesn't mind having it on all night long. He actually likes it better than a night light. My other son thought it was too much light, but he still though the night lights weren't light enough. I ended up putting one of the lamps in the bathroom they share which is connected to both of their bedrooms. So the light is perfect for night time in the bathroom and works well for my younger son in his bedroom. We used an energy saving 25watt equivalent bulb. Just the perfect size for a night stand in a child's room, in a bathroom or on an accent table. Good quality! Great price point!

I bought this lamp over a year ago, and was reasonably satisfied once I accepted the limitation of the bulb type. I wanted a lower brightness, and had to buy a new bulb on line and not utilize the one that came with the lamp.

The lamp served it's purpose in the same location since I bought it, until the base fell apart. The weight in the base is a cement-filled plastic housing. I discoverd the lamp listing, and when I picked it up to investigate, this cement/plastic base fell out of the bottom. The plastic had ruptured, so the bolt that held it in the base had nothing to hold, leaving a mess on my desk of plastic pieces and cement chunks, and an otherwise perfect lamp useless.

I contacted Ott to buy another cement/plastic weight to bolt into the lamp, but they will not sell the piece. They checked the manufacture date and since it was over a year, no help. I threw the lamp and the two working bulbs away (no other lights in my house use the special bulb).

I bought this lamp because I was struggling to see my knitting in our dimly lit living room. I wanted a lamp that looked like it fit in with our decor and wasn't too utilitarian looking. I love the look of the lamp, and I knew it would be bright, but I thought I could use the Ott lamp to replace a table lamp in my living room. I was wrong. It's great for task-specific light (my knitting has never been easier to see) but it also destroys the ambiance of my room. It's like a spotlight on a stage--and the rest of the stage is pitch black. I think I may have to rearrange the lighting in my room, possibly even buy another lamp, so that the room becomes comfortable again.

Still, I can't give this a bad review because the lamp does what it is advertised as doing. It is excellent for task lighting. I was just hoping it would also work in other living areas.

I love the look of this lamp, but discovered two problems. The bulb is non-standard, and non-dimmable. I plugged the lamp into a dimmable outlet so that I could adjust the light for my comfort level, but the light is either on, or off. There is no in between, and since it's a non-standard bulb, I can't replace the bulb with a dimmable bulb. Disappointing.

Unlike most inexpensive solar lights on the market today, this one was unique, attractive and NOT MADE OUT OF PLASTIC. It is primarily the same clay material that plant pots are made of, covered with amber tinted glass chips (mosaic). Very little to put together. Just put top on and push button to turn light on. Works very well and gives the garden a charming look at night. I got them on sale, so I consider this an extraordinary value.

I have prime, so shipping was two days, as usual. I have been very happy with amazon service.

I bought this solar table light sight unseen and am very pleased with it. The construction is solid and the mosaics are well crafted yet clearly show hand-made elements which I do like. The solar light just sits on of the glass and does what it's supposed to despite only having one LED in it. You're not going to be reading by this light or be able to use it as a marker to light up an area on your deck. It solely looks nice and pretty sitting on your patio table but offers no real lighting capability. That's to be expected though with this kind of accent light.

I was surprised to see it goes white/clear at night and does not cast an orange glow. This isn't bad I kind of like having two lamps for the price of one, but if you're expecting to highlight areas with orange-like glows on Halloween with this you will be disappointed.

Being able to easily take the solar light off and putting in a real tea candle is a nice addition to this good-valued light.

I have several rechargeable battery/LED type lights on my deck, including 3 of these.

The light unit itself has not lasted very long. I purchased mine in May of 2010; all 3 stopped working within 12-15 months of purchase.

There were several possible reasons they stopped working: corrosion on the battery terminals and/or battery, failure of the rechargeable batteries, failure of the LED, failure of the internal circuitry.

I believe I have eliminated the first two causes: the battery terminals have been cleaned, and I have replaced the batteries with standard 1.2V AA batteries. Still no joy.

Meanwhile, other (older) LED lights are still running perfectly.

If you have a spare solar panel/LED assembly already (fitting an ID of 3.25") in good working order, you may like the soft golden hue of these little glass jars. Otherwise, you may want to spend your money on a more reliable unit.

We needed a smaller table and lamp to fit between two chairs. After looking at multiple traditionally styled combinations, I kept coming back to this table. I use these 26 watt CFL light bulbs in a lamp where I only desire a little light..... more than a little night light, but if all of the CFL bulb makers are trying to trick us into believing or accepting these as yielding as much light as a 100 watt incandescent lightbulb, they're not fooling me! Like I mentioned I use this as a step above a night light and they are just fine for my purpose. Truthfully, comparing the brightness of these 26 CFLs to an incandescent bulb, it would be equal to about 40 watts of light. I'm giving this a 4 Star rating only because it is serving one particular purpose for me, not because of it's brightness.

although it says specifically that these are dimmable, the package clearly says not to be used in dimmers. don't waste your time.

I have been searching for the perfect light fixture for my eat-in area for a year this definitely is the answer! It is perfect! It is a great cross between modern and traditional this will be in style for quite some time. It is very, very well made. The shade is a little darker than it looks in the picture, but it is still a very nice linen color.

The one hiccup we had was with the assembly there are no fixture-specific instructions (just general installation instructions), so I had a little trouble figuring out how to get the poles to screw into the canopy (the screws are removable on some of the poles). Once we figured this out, it was very easy and straightforward to install.

I have 9 foot ceilings and I installed the fixture so that it hangs 30" above my table. It comes with several lengths of poles so you can combine them in any length that you might need.

Do not hesitate to purchase also, the fixture was delivered a week before it was promised great surprise!

I am returning this, which will be quite a hassle, getting all the pieces back into the box. The description says that this is a 3-way lamp. The box says that this is a 3-way lamp. I tried two 3-way bulbs that work in other lamps. Neither works in this lamp. This is NOT a 3-way lamp.

The base is attractive enough. The shade is very cheap-looking. If it were a 3-way lamp I would keep it and just replace the shade.

TURNS OUT the first lamp was defective. After some miscommunication with Amazon I returned the first lamp and they sent a second, which works fine. It is a pretty good-looking lamp, after I replaced the cheap-looking shade with one I find more attractive.

If you are a Nebraska cornhusker fan, you've got to have this lamp. This is a beautiful tiffany lamp. It is well made and very carefully packaged for shipping. The big red 'N' on one side and the word 'Husker' in red on the other is just perfect. I like the chain pull switch and the detail on the lamp stand. It's almost 2 feet tall, so it works well as a desk lamp or a lamp for your night stand. It's just a truly attractive home decor.

I was very disappointed to find that the shade on this lamp is not glass but PLASTIC!! For this much money I did not expect this kind of bait and switch.
