Discount Lite Source CH5217-5 5-Inch Lamp Shade
Probably would work fine for the type of bulb that fits it BUT they don't bother to tell you it does not fit a standard size bulb. The bulb fitting ring is much smaller than standard, so i don't know what bulb it was actually built to fit.

Z-Bar High Power LED Lamp- Metallic Black/Cool Generation 2 Review
I had some concerns about a few things, just based on other LED products I've got. But this one has no LED issues and we're getting a few more for the office.
1: On max brightness this will light up an entire work surface. This new unit, with only 6 LEDs, is bright on max level. I'd say it's brighter a standard fluorescent desk light, and covers a larger area.
2: The Daylight White still looks like a high quality high Kelvin light source it is not too "blue-ish" I had been concerned about that based on cheaper led products.
3: On low brightness it does not have any flicker. As you may know, LEDs are usually dimmed by cycling them on and off, and as a result, many LED products have a high frequency flicker that I can usually see. I'm pretty sensitive to flicker, maybe due to my eye condition (albinism), and I can usually see the flicker in indirect tube TV light and cheap LED Christmas lights, but I cannot see it here at all on any brightness level.
Low brightness is also nice for generic background lighting. I tend to use just off, low and high, and ignore brightness levels 2 and 3.
4: The AC adapter is pleasantly tiny you could mistake it for a cell phone charger very efficient light source I guess. The light also returns to the same brightness level if you disconnect it from AC (at least for short periods, did not test overnight) This one thin wire is the only wire you'll see all other electricity travels through the secure mechanical connections.
5: If you have a smaller workspace, like just a phone and notepad, you might want to check out the mini 4 LED version. This full sized one is for a larger work surface.
Very impressed.
My only suggestion, and this is tiny, is that the on and off press buttons could be a bit lower down on the neck. There's a slight wobble when you press the on button any similar design would have that and it would be minimized if they moved the buttons down an inch.
And I guess it could have buttons for each power level, but then that would be 5 buttons instead of 2, and that makes it more complicated, so never mind. Or just have 2 brightness levels, low and high, and off, requiring only 3 buttons. When you turn it on, you do need to cycle through the 3 lower brightness levels to get to max. And then to turn it off, you go back down through those 3 other levels. Not a big deal, this is a TINY and possibly bad suggestion.
In addition, I knew that I didn't want another halogen desk light, having had previous really bad experiences with energy usage, cost, and burns from the high heat. I wanted something stylish and classy-looking, so from what I saw, that meant that the old CFL/Incandescent lamps were out too.
I found some good online desk lamp reviews and it looked like LED lights were very long lasting, very low energy/electricity users, very stylish, and didn't get hot to the touch. Unfortunately, they're also the most expensive right now.
Having looked in stores, and done the research, I settled myself on spending more than $100 on a new desk lamp. I work 100% from home, so I viewed it as a good investment and another step in making my home office a place where I like to be for 8+ hours a day. My two favorite LED lamps were the Koncept Z-Bar High Power LED lamp and the Humanscale Element LED Lamp. I just couldn't bring myself to spend $340+ for the Humanscale Element, but the Koncept Z-Bar's $160 price was a little bit more palatable.
Next came trying to figure out whether I wanted the Daylight or Warm White LED lights, and I read a lot of differing opinions that didn't really help me decide. In the end, it seemed to me like the Daylight LED lights would offer the ability to be brighter, so I went with them. I was worried that the light would be blue-tinted as I'd read in some customer reviews, but if it is (I can't tell?), it certainly doesn't bother me at all. I also read people complaining about flickering LED lights at lower lighting levels, but thankfully I have not seen any of this and think that it's a problem that might have existed in older models.
Koncept does a really nice job on packaging and finish and attention to detail, and my first thought on unpacking and assembling the Z-Bar was that it was very much like something you'd get from Apple.
I am extremely satisfied with my Koncept Z-Bar High Power LED Lamp. The price was not too high, especially considering the current price range for other LED desk lamps, and the quality is truly stunning. I have no problems at all with it, no complaints, and haven't seen any flickering or other sub-par behavior. Would definitely buy again. The only other problem I found was that these lamps are extremely popular right now and hard to find available online. I think Koncept themselves are out of stock on these for at least another month. So if you can find a retailer who still has these in stock, buy one quickly, because chances are, in another hour they'll be sold out too. =:)
9 months after I purchased it, it stopped working altogether.....none of the lights lit...nothing.
I contacted the seller to see if there was a fuse or something that could have gone bad but no. I even thought that maybe there was a short internally.
The seller responded that since it was past their warranty period through Amazon, I needed to contact the manufacturer. The manufacturers warranty was one year and I was less than a year (9 months )of ownership.
I did contact the manufacturer but could never get a response. It is now 2 days past the one year manufacturers warranty period and still no response. I have to assume that I'll just throw the thing out.
Great lamp if it works. Terrible customer service if it doesn't.

While it may seem expensive, you are paying for the technology, design and quality of this fixture. It uses new generation high power white l.e.d. bulbs as opposed to older l.e.d.'s which put out fewer lumens. I also recommend you go with the bright white as opposed to the warm white bulbs which produce a less intense yellow light. This lamp goes together in minutes, is infinately adjustable and comes with a solid as well as bracket base. You have 4 levels of brightness as opposed to an on/off switch. What I found was that the desk lamps that you can find in Staples and Office Depot stores (at least around here) are sorely lacking in configurability, style, power consumption, and appeal. When I purchased this lamp I thought it was great. Great flexibility in position and lighting intensity.9 months after I purchased it, it stopped working altogether.....none of the lights lit...nothing.

Electrically, there is poor contact between the LED bar plug and its socket, this causes the lamp to flicker a few times per hour annoying. The flicker would have caused me to return the lamp, but being in the UK, I modified the lamp to fix it. Lack of electromechanical design skills are evident, LEDs take 900mA, all connectors need to be up rated for lifetime use. Design appearance is good. Mechanically the operation is a bit plastic and not 100% smooth, but acceptable. Works on 240V.

I love the style, but the brushed nickel looks like scratches, like a metal brush was swiped a few times on the ball portion. It looks unprofessional and tacky. I am not going to return it too problematic. Maybe a steel brush might help.neolagu

This is an adorable lamp that will look nice in any room. I ordered two for a very large breakfront/china cabinet that contains my collection of blue and white plates, and they look wonderful. They are first quality. The shade is beautiful, but a touch old-fashioned for my taste. I will probably replace them with narrow cone shades in black or white for an updated look. The cone shape looks great on the lamp--at least in Photoshop! The cord is a bit shorter than usual.

We needed a smaller table and lamp to fit between two chairs. After looking at multiple traditionally styled combinations, I kept coming back to this table. the competition. Provides a cool white light that is very easy to read by. I use it next to my computer. You turn it on by lifting the top of the lamp and you turn it off by lowering it. It is very compact and does not have a large base. Nevertheless it is well balanced and stable. The packing and shipping was excellent and the lamp arrived on time and in perfect condition. The price was remarkably reasonable. The next time I am looking for a lamp I will definitely consider a lamp from this company.

Mr. Light Desk Top Plant Light with Built-In Tray Reviews
This is a great product. It's a lot more powerful than some other desktop grow lamps and it looks a lot nicer as well. Despite the fact that it is only 30 watts the output of light is perfect for maintaining lowmedium light plants and even growing small leafy herbs and lettuces under the lamp. The base has a nice plant tray that can fit several different size plant pots and the lamp head can be manipulated to the angle of light and closeness you'd like for a particular plant. The only thing I would consider changing about this lamp is making the telescoping feature a little longer. I found that plants in tall pots could be easily burned by the light if they are too close to the bulbs. The leaves will shrivel up and get "sun burned". Other than this I don't think you can go wrong in purchasing this product. Please be advised, even though the description says you can use the lamp as a regular desk lamp I found the light to be exceptionally bright. I keep mine farther away from me on my desk at an angle that faces the opposite direction.

I bought this for a bonsai tree that didn't last long. I wouldn't say it was the fault of the light that the tree died, probably mine in fact. Anyway, I re-purposed the light for my still photography and it's working out just fine. I like the goose neck that let's me point most anywhere. This is a great little lamp for the kitchen or family room. I have received many compliments on this gem. I didn't want a large lamp and this one fits the bill. I studied all the lamps with roosters on them, and I certainly made the right decision! I have a "Country French" kitchen with my roosters, not country, and this is a dressier lamp, which is exactly what I was looking for! It has gold trim at the bottom, the shade is a golden color, and I love the trim that hangs from the shade. The rooster stands proudly overlooking his kitchen--lol--and just really fits in with my decor. I think for a lovely lamp like this, the price was well worth it--it really shows off. While I would have preferred the red or white version that also appear on the Amazon Website, neither, unfortunately, was available. The LED light source has proven both very bright and also unexpectedly durable. I've had no problem with these lamps at all and would purchase another color any time.

This lamp did not meet my expectations. The design is beautiful, bu the plastic hardware cheapens the overall look of it a bit. The general size of it was much larger than it appears in the photo, and it simply did not mesh with the overall theme of my cubicle at work. It's a great conversation piece exactly the kind of disruption I did not want in a cubicle. The lighting that it provides is minimal, so I had a very concentrated work space. Ingenious and marvelous design, looks like an expensive Erte sculpture sitting on my desk. The operations of the lamp are amazing, giving the lamp a great multitude of positions, each accomplished with ease, stability and perfection. I bought the IMG Beacon 450 and it is easy on the eyes, a warm light that sharpens and illuminates what I'm focusing on or reading, and creates a pleasant atmosphere. There is nothing on the market that compares to this lamp, I've looked hard and had many; it does what much more expensive lamps cannot do. If you sit at a desk, day or night, writing or working on a computer, or if you simply want something beautiful and exotic looking to grace and illuminate your living room or bedroom, don't hesitate, this is the lamp for you. If your all about the bling, these are the lamps for you! You have the option to turn on one, two, or three lights at a time. The plastic crystal are very delicate, the item was well packaged during shipping and I received many broken crystal. I e-mailed the supplier and told them what needed to be replaced and with no hesitation they immediately shipped the replacement parts. I got this and the crystals are damaged, the lamp itself is bent and only 1 light works in the package. I am sad about this lamp for it could be very beautiful. Please don't buy.
