This is a great product. It's a lot more powerful than some other desktop grow lamps and it looks a lot nicer as well. Despite the fact that it is only 30 watts the output of light is perfect for maintaining lowmedium light plants and even growing small leafy herbs and lettuces under the lamp. The base has a nice plant tray that can fit several different size plant pots and the lamp head can be manipulated to the angle of light and closeness you'd like for a particular plant. The only thing I would consider changing about this lamp is making the telescoping feature a little longer. I found that plants in tall pots could be easily burned by the light if they are too close to the bulbs. The leaves will shrivel up and get "sun burned". Other than this I don't think you can go wrong in purchasing this product. Please be advised, even though the description says you can use the lamp as a regular desk lamp I found the light to be exceptionally bright. I keep mine farther away from me on my desk at an angle that faces the opposite direction.

I bought this for a bonsai tree that didn't last long. I wouldn't say it was the fault of the light that the tree died, probably mine in fact. Anyway, I re-purposed the light for my still photography and it's working out just fine. I like the goose neck that let's me point most anywhere. Good save I think.

I love this product. I use it as a plant light/desk light. I have a beach terrarium under the light with cacti growing happily in the mock sunlight. Excellent for the price.
