I had been looking for an affordable bedside lamp for a long time. I finally found this one and it goes well with my bedside decor. Since the base of the lamp is hollow it is not too heavy but is still very stable on my glass to bedside table. The lamp arrived quickly and was packed very well so there was no damage in transit.

After many years of dissatisfaction with my bedside lighting, I finally found the perfect lamps. No more fumbling under the shade to awkwardly turn on/off the lights, easy assembly, and the extra outlets will be perfect for charging the cell phone and the alarm clock. The shade isn't huge and is flat in the front and back nice. After a recent stay at an upscale hotel, I noticed the extra outlet plugs on the base along with the rocker on/off switch and knew I wanted lamps designed this way. I looked at the local home improvements stores plus Lamps Plus for this style, but only found the basic or expensive decorator lamps. These lamps were shipped free/standard and arrived 3 days after ordering.

After looking around for quite some time for some lamps, I finally decided to go with this Kenroy set. From what I could tell, there were fairly positive reviews, and the style and quality would match my new sofa and living room furniture nicely.

First off, as others reported, the photos don't show the true colors. My lamps have more blue/green/teal than the photos reveal. In my case that was OK as it complemented the colors I had working for me already so I had no hesitation moving forward with the order. The lamp shades seemed darker than the photos as well but not a bad color in and of itself.

Now overall quality: I realize I'm not paying $300 per lamp, so I my expectation was that I would receive something functional and relatively well put together. WRONG! As I started to take things out of the box I quickly realized that the quality of these lamps was poor. I'll start with the lamp shades seams were uneven and someone got a little crazy with their "glue gun" and there were little clear strings of glue all over. The lamp bases themselves in the picture look as if the edges are nicely finished, but in reality it kind of looks like a 5th grader's "glue project" the way the corners of the slate are put together.

One of the finials arrived with a corner cracked off (I hope they can send a replacement without sending everything back!) The styrofoam was disintegrating and I've got little dots of "white snow" everywhere as part of the unpacking process. One of the messiest unpacking adventures I've ever had with something from Amazon.

As for the description, in the product details, Amazon says: "3-way switches for flexible lighting options" ... well I took that to mean I could use 3 way bulbs (you know 50/100/150) so that I could control the amount of light I would get. Unfortunately, 3 way bulbs as I know them, don't work... so I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out what exactly that means. The lamps are "functional" in that they do work but they don't look very good doing the job!

All-in-all if it wouldn't be such a hassle I would send these duds back. Instead I'll keep them around until I can find something of better quality and/or I find a great deal on some lamp shades that are of higher quality to make up for the shabby ones that come with the lamp. I've ordered a lot of things from Amazon and, most of the time, I like what I get but this was an epic disappointment and I wouldn't recommend wasting your cash unless you plan on using them temporarily.

I specifically bought these lamps because of the description and 3 way switch but not one of the lamps had the 3 way switch (only 1 way) and it looked like it had been opened already. I went to return and it took me awhile to even figure that out because of this item shipping by amazon. I wont be trusting Amazons listings anymore, they used to be reliable but this is the second product I am having to return because the product was shipped incorrectly or not as described.

When I purchased my lamp there were no reviews yet so I just went by description. I'm so glad I took a chance. It's so classy looking. I have a kitten who loves to play with the little chains to turn on the lights(one or two)and because the lamp base is fairly heavy, she can't knock it over. What a relief. Looking at the lamp from across the room the base appears to be more of a burnished gold rather than the silver in the add. This is a great plus fo me as I'm not a great fan of silver. I also love the white glass globe. It puts out a beautiful glow. My lamp is in my tv room. I'm homebound due to disability and to be able to order a lamp of this quality by mail was just great. I have this lamp on my computer desk and use multi-colored "stained glass" type lightbulbs in it for mood lighting in the evening. The colors with this glass shade are beautiful. Very classy, heavy base and well made lamp. I agree the base looks less silver and more bronze color from a distance, which I like. The 2 star review... I originally had the same problem. The bulbs were showing under the shade. This was due to not removing all the washers in the base before installing the shade. The shade did not sit all the way down and the bulbs were visible. Taking it apart and installing the washers correctly solved this problem. Overall very happy with the purchase.

A few weeks ago we bought a new bedroom set, everything mathed except for our lamps. My wife had a Tiffany style lamp on her nightstand while I had a cast-off floor lamp on my side of the bed. As luck would have it my wife's lamp broke so.... we decided to look for matching lamps and found this lamp. We purchased these bedside lamps because of their simple mission type styling and their price and we're very pleased with them. The walnut look goes fine with our new cherry furniture and the height is just right for reading in bed.

All in all, these are beautiful lamps and will be a fine addition to your home.

Love this lamp in my home office. The room is painted forest green which makes it dark, even during the day, but this lamp gives off tons of light. The only problem was that the cord had to be pushed through the base very slowly in order to be assembled due to the packing foam sticking to it. Thought I would have to return the lamp, but with persistence and small fingers I was finally able to get it done. Manufacturer packing leaves a lot to be desired.

the competition. Provides a cool white light that is very easy to read by. I use it next to my computer. You turn it on by lifting the top of the lamp and you turn it off by lowering it. It is very compact and does not have a large base. Nevertheless it is well balanced and stable. The packing and shipping was excellent and the lamp arrived on time and in perfect condition. The price was remarkably reasonable. The next time I am looking for a lamp I will definitely consider a lamp from this company.

This is a wonderful lamp, but I was dismayed to find that the bulbs have been discontinued all over the Internet. They are available only at Holtkoetter.com. I am keeping the lamps only because tinted replacement windows, better for Arizona than leafy NC, have made my living room dreary and dark. These lamps on either side of the mantel are the perfect cure. I just have to hope that the bulbs will continue to be available. I feel a bit snookered and probably would not have placed the order had I known I would be dependent on one web site for speciality bayonet-based replacement bulbs. The bulbs are 2000 hours and cost $24 each. The lamp directions state that using a bulb other than the Osram bulb could cause a fire.

I looked at this lamp for a long time before making the purchase. It looked amazing on the Amazon site. When I recieved the lamp I wouldn't say I love it but I do like it. The quality is a bit shabby but for the price it was a good buy. I was hoping for more of a wow factor when I first plugged it in but I was just happy with it. It is a really pretty lamp and it looks nice in my living room. I'm actully debating on purchasing another one to have a pair on either side of the room. Also it says to use 60 watt bulbs and I did put those in at first and realized that is too much light so I put in 40 watt bulbs which look alot better. I guess all and all I'm glad I made this purchase.

Unfortunately, I am not satisfied with this lamp. Sellers title states lamp has a "pewter" base, DOES NOT state lamp has to be assembled. Base color is hemitite and no where near the color of pewter, and its PLASTIC. OK Lighting should not advertise a product that is NOT what it was stated to be. I bought the lamp because ad stated base was pewter. Very disappointed with lamp upon receipt. It is not as nice as picture depicts after seeing what level of quality lamp really is and that I have to assemble it. Sorry OK Lighting, unhappy customer, and note your product description is totally misleading.
