I'd love to give this lamp five stars, but it has one serious problem that prevents it from being a beautiful lamp for a good price. The metal piece that threads into the stem that flows into the decorative base is too long. Therefore, the glass shade doesn't drop down low enough to cover the two light bulbs. I purchased the smallest blubs I could find, but no matter what, both bulbs GLARE OUT BELOW THE SHADE. I even bought a lower end table to set the lamp on but it looks so bad with the bulbs glaring below that I can't enjoy the lamp and rarely turn it on. If the piece with the threading were three inches shorter, the shade could set low enough to cover the bulbs. I emailed the "Warehouse of Tiffany" and asked where I can get a shorter piece. I hope they respond; otherwise the lamp is a waste to me!

I received an answer from "Warehouse of Tiffany" today. They said the piece that's too long is called a "pipe" and that I can probably purchase a shorter one from Home Depot for about $6. I'm leaving the two stars because I shouldn't have to purchase a piece to make a $150 lamp look right. They should have offered to fix the problem for me!

UPDATE: I received a second email from the warehouse, asking for a photo of the "pipe" piece, as well as a shipping address to send the right piece to. That was weeks ago. I'll let you know if the problem gets resolved. Meanwhile I've searched all over the place and nobody makes a "pipe" short enough to fix the problem.

FINAL UPDATE: The warehouse was going to charge me $25 to send the correct piece to me. I asked why I should pay for a piece that should have been part of the lamp I'd ALREADY PURCHASED, and they claimed it was a shipping charge. I wrote back and told them the small piece could be sent by Priority Mail for just five bucks. I never heard from them again. Meanwhile, Amazon (THEY GET FIVE STARS, THIS OTHER COMPANY GETS ZERO) refunded me $25. I'll probably have to have the shorter "pipe" piece custom made. Meanwhile the lamp remains turned off until I can make the shade cover the glaring bulbs. SO...if you purchase this lamp, I'd recommend you find it elsewhere but not at "Warehouse of Tiffany."

I got this for my birthday and I am really have with the quality of this product. The neck is easy to adjust and doesn't feel cheap like other gooseneck lamps. The fact is only needs 3 aaa batteries is great. I live in an area that gets brown outs so this will help when that happens for sure. The lamp is really bright and doesn't give off any heat.

Last year I bought 2 of these lamps and they are still working today and still on the same set of batteries! I made sure to get the Energizer lithium batteries and it was a great investment. Lights are nice and bright and don't burn out and the necks bends with ease. For the money, they are darn good lamps.

Picked up 2 of these as night stand lights. Work great and the batteries last a while. Needed these since our bedroom seems to have 2 outlets no where near the bed. I wish houses would have more outlets, like one on each wall at least.

I've been searching for a small, battery powered lamp and this one is perfect. The foot print is small since it only needs 3AAA batteries and the LED bulbs never burn out so if you take care of this it should last for a while. I do suggest you use Lithium batteries so you don't need to worry about changing them for a long time.

This does NOT have candle spikes or even level cups. It came poorly packaged and in fact the front cup was bent way back. My hundand had to put it in a vise to straighten it out. Its kinda cheap for the $. I had expected better quality. I do like how many candles it holds and the arragement.

I have been looking for a fireplace candle holder for awhile and while I see many that are ok, nothing has been perfect. This is the one I keep coming back to...but the lack of dimensions were troubling me so I searched the whole web and found it elsewhere with a description that includes the dimensions ...sharing in case any one else is wondering. When my favorite desk lamp, which was 20 years old, failed to light, I couldn't believe it. Where or where would I ever find one exactly like it? So, I started investigating and lo and behold, there it was on the Internet the same lamp with some improvements not that it needed any. I am thrilled with it. Great lamp! I had seen one years ago in a boutique lamp store at an outrageous price, so I was delighted to see the same lamp on Amazon. It is very stylish, gets lots of compliments on the desk, and works smoothly and gracefully. The heavy base is a perfect balance to the long boom. Two levels of intensity are useful, too. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

A number of years ago I wanted to get the original . . . not available . . . so, I bought a similar one, cheaper one. Eventually, it went belly up. Could it be fixed? I don't really know. I tried again for the real mccoy . . . and found it, bought it, love it. It has a 2-way switch, glass covers the halogen bulb and is generally better crafted.

The balancing arm is ingenious but most important is the light quality. I personally find the high level of brightness too bright and the low level too dim. As one review mentions the light scatters instead of focusing, and can easily blind your eyes (that moment when it is raised quite up and you lean back on your chair so your eye level lowers a little). Too much light on the surroundings may cause distraction for those who prefer reading with all other light sources off.

No adjusting handle for the head of a halogen lamp means scorching your hand while attempting to bend it. Not that it matters because the head cannot turn sideways, only up/down.

I bought 3 of these from Home Depot 8 years ago. One of the bulbs burnt out. While I was able to purchase a new bulb, I found the Chinese engineering made it impossible to reassemble. So I bought this new lamp and my problem was solved. The only drawback is that the new lamp puts out a noticeable aroma, not too offensive, but a bit annoying. Smells like electrical components slowly cooking.

When I purchased my lamp there were no reviews yet so I just went by description. I'm so glad I took a chance. It's so classy looking. I have a kitten who loves to play with the little chains to turn on the lights(one or two)and because the lamp base is fairly heavy, she can't knock it over. What a relief. Looking at the lamp from across the room the base appears to be more of a burnished gold rather than the silver in the add. This is a great plus fo me as I'm not a great fan of silver. I also love the white glass globe. It puts out a beautiful glow. My lamp is in my tv room. I'm homebound due to disability and to be able to order a lamp of this quality by mail was just great. I have this lamp on my computer desk and use multi-colored "stained glass" type lightbulbs in it for mood lighting in the evening. The colors with this glass shade are beautiful. Very classy, heavy base and well made lamp. I agree the base looks less silver and more bronze color from a distance, which I like. The 2 star review... I originally had the same problem. The bulbs were showing under the shade. This was due to not removing all the washers in the base before installing the shade. The shade did not sit all the way down and the bulbs were visible. Taking it apart and installing the washers correctly solved this problem. Overall very happy with the purchase.

A few weeks ago we bought a new bedroom set, everything mathed except for our lamps. My wife had a Tiffany style lamp on her nightstand while I had a cast-off floor lamp on my side of the bed. As luck would have it my wife's lamp broke so.... we decided to look for matching lamps and found this lamp. We purchased these bedside lamps because of their simple mission type styling and their price and we're very pleased with them. The walnut look goes fine with our new cherry furniture and the height is just right for reading in bed.

All in all, these are beautiful lamps and will be a fine addition to your home.

Love this lamp in my home office. The room is painted forest green which makes it dark, even during the day, but this lamp gives off tons of light. The only problem was that the cord had to be pushed through the base very slowly in order to be assembled due to the packing foam sticking to it. Thought I would have to return the lamp, but with persistence and small fingers I was finally able to get it done. Manufacturer packing leaves a lot to be desired.

Lamps look great and I really like them. The on/off switch location above a style plate makes it hard to reach and use. If they had used a pull chain I would have given this a solid five stars. I have bought six of their lamps this year and they all look great, this is the only one that had what I would call a design flaw. This would be an easy fix for them to correct and I hope they do.

We recently purchased some glass bathroom accessories (soap dispenser, lotion dispenser, glass, etc). Since they would be sitting on glass shelves we wanted something to put on the bottom of them to A) keep them from sliding, and B) soften the "glass on glass" effect. These pads were perfect. The non-stick adhesive worked well. Fortunately the large items we purchased were 3" so they fit perfect. For the smaller items we were able to easily cut the pad to size with scissors.

It worked great. Did exactly what we wanted.

We recently got two leather chairs which sit on a polished concrete floor. These pads, which are simple to stick on, stopped all the slipping and sliding. We've had them on for a month and they continue to work perfectly.

Great non-slip pads worked exactly as I hoped. My couch in the living room sits partially on an area rug and partially on the hardwood floor. We purchased a set of sectional faux leather couches for our family room, which has hard wood flooring. The couches would slide at any chance they got, and we would always slide into the sections between the couch sections. I applied these rubber pads to the wood feet of each of them, and they lasted for well over a year. Only coming off because we were pushing them to clean underneath which rubbed the pads off.

It's somewhat of a long process to attach and cut them, but they easily work well enough to let the couches move some without pulling off while keeping the small movements from happening when sitting on them.

I came across Ott products a few years ago and was attracted by the claim by Ott that the light spectrum produced by the bulb is the closest to natural light and therefore more healthy (and producing less eye-strain) than more common incandescent or fluorescent bulbs.

I've since purchased Ott desk lamps and use them at my office and home, and I have Ott floor lamps in both places including by the bedside for reading at night. One of the floor lamps that I own is practically identical to this model except for color it has the same lamp style and flexible arm as this does.

In my experience over this period of several years I am convinced that the Ott bulbs do produce very natural lighting for comfortable reading and I am completely satisfied with them. I have also had no problems with any of my Ott products (2 desk lamps and 3 floor lamps), either with respect to the quality of the lamps or lifespan of the bulbs. (I therefore have no experience with Ott customer support because I have not had reason to make use of it).

(A comment regarding their customer support based upon my reading of other customer reviews here on Amazon. I have noticed that Ott customer support has individually responded via "comments" to many if not all of the negative customer reviews posted to their products here on Amazon, asking that the persons who have had a bad experience contact Ott so that their problems could be corrected. That is something that I have not noticed with other products and suggests to me that they are really paying attention to customer feedback and want to provide good customer support. Based on that I would expect problems to be handled by them in a very good way. It would be helpful if other Amazon customers who have initially had a bad experiences, but subsequently contacted Ott as the company has suggested, could provide an update to their reviews so that others can see how the issues were handled and hopefully resolved).

The only downside to these products as far as I am concerned is that the bulbs and lamps are made to fit each other and you therefore need to purchase replacement Ott bulbs, which of course are not cheap. I would not use them for every light in the house for that reason, but for those lamps that are primarily for reading, they are my preference.

I have found it difficult to quantitatively compare the Ott products to other lamps that make similar claims (Verilux being perhaps the main example). I have been unable to satisfy myself as to whether or not Ott is superior or even different from these others, and I do not have personal experience with any of the competitors to Ott. I do know that when I went to the Ott website to see what information was available on the light spectrum of the light produced by the bulbs, so that I could attempt to make a comparison of the light quality for the Ott bulbs vs their competitors, I could not find that information available from them (yes, I am an engineer). I also did not find such information on the Verilux website. If I am able to come across such a comparison, I will update this review to include it.

Very good lamps for reading use and I feel very comfortable in recommending them.

This lamp does not work well. It's very hard to turn on. Every time I try to turn on the light, the bulb flashes on and off. It always takes more than 10 tries to actually "light up" the bulb. We thought it was because it was a "new bulb" and it takes time to make it work, yet until today we still have problem turning the light on. The order is no longer returnable on Amazon, so I am complaining this problem here. Could you please help us with this issue? We can either ship this back in exchange of a new one or return this lamp and buy another brand. Thank you!
