This lamp is beautiful. The base is solid and the arm and lock construction seems pretty solid. The light is a good color and well-diffused for use as a desk lamp. The one thing that I didn't realize is that the bulb is not replaceable. However, since LED's last a long time (fingers crossed) this will most likely not be a problem.

I bought 2 of these lamps from Walmart.com back in June (2010) because they were having a "roll back" sale and they were $35 each. Amazon had them listed for the double the price but have since come down in price and now the $49 price tag is the same as anywhere else on the internet.

The main reason I bought these lamps were because my husband and I were expecting a baby and we thought they would be good bedside lamps. They are SUPER. They have 3 degrees of brightness and that first dim light is absolutely perfect as a night light and we used it as one the first week the baby was born. It's just the right amount of light where you can see to look in on the baby, get a feeding done and not have any harsh light hurting your eyes (or the baby's eyes) at 3:00 am. The second and third degrees of brightness are fine, too, perfect for reading or lighting up the room in general.

The lamp shade itself is a bit wider/bigger than I expected so I can't push the lamps very close to the wall, they are more in the center of my nightstand, which is fine.

The convenience of these lamps is worth a lot, especially for new parents needing to get up multiple times in the middle of the night. The last thing you need to think about is turning on a light switch it's great to be able to roll over in bed and touch any of the metal parts to turn the lamp on or off. And I can imagine when the baby becomes a toddler and older that he will enjoy turning on and off the lamp by merely touching it! I recommend this lamp to all new parents and anyone who likes the convenience of touching a lamp base to have it turn on/off.

I bought another lamp for my baby's room and it works great. He LOVES tapping on the lamp with his hands and watching the lamp turn on/off. However, he started banging on the glass lamp shade and it broke. Warning: although the lamp shade is pretty thick glass and sturdy, a baby pounding on it WILL break it! Luckily nobody got cut with the broken glass and we easily found a replacement lamp shade at IKEA which works great. I still love the ease and convenience of these lamps and will probably buy another one or two for our guest room now.

The lamp is cute and the touch feature is what I'd been wanting for my nightstand. However (am I the only one having this problem??!) sometimes in the middle of the night the lamp turns itself on. It starts out on the lowest level...then maybe a hour or two later it kicks it up a notch to brightness level 2.... etc. Not every night, just some nights. I had insomnia last week and was able to watch this annoying phenomenon go on all night. Now I just unplug it after I get in bed at night. Kind of defeats the simplicity factor that drew me to the lamp in the first place...but oh well.

Not only is the technology of these lamps phenomenal, but their styling is very attractive. We bought two of these lamps recently to replace ones we had on our bedside tables, and we are absolutely delighted with them in particular their ease of use. No more fumbling or reaching for the switch, knocking over books or noisily pushing the lampshade against the wall. Just a light touch of your finger anywhere on the base or on the curved stand (or even the little metal cap on top of the frosted glass shade) turns them on...to three levels of brightness in sequence. It has to be your actual finger not even your nail will do it. In addition, these lamps are slim and graceful, and the light they produce is warm and soft. Even my wife, who is cautious with new technology and has a very critical eye for design, gives them five stars.

I'm a fan of Reveal bulbs because they create a much more pleasing spectrum of light in a room and 'reveal' the colors that were distorted by the over abundance of the yellow spectrum in normal incandescent bulbs. I use them for all of my interior lighting (except for a few halogen floods) and they provide very pleasing 'mid day' light. This is a product that is worth the extra cost because the time you spend in your home (which for most people is a significant chunk!) can be dramatically improved with good lighting. To me its like spending the money to get a good monitor for work.

These 100 watt halogen bulbs are another great reveal bulb. They're also very cost effective since they are rated for 3,000hrs vs. normal bulbs at about 1,000hrs. (The savings is only noticed if you 'shop around' and get these bulbs at a good price point). It also means you don't need to replace your bulbs as much, which is very nice.

These are some great 100-watt bulbs and I recommend them, especially for locations that are a bit harder to reach and making changing out light bulbs a pain.

This is a 100 watt lamp with all the lumens of a regular 100 watt bulb but much more pleasing to the eye. It is NOT to be confused with the "old school" halogens which were usually around 300 watt and caught the room on fire. Almost identical to the regular GE 100 watt reveal bulb (I can't tell the difference though my husband says he can tell a slight difference but likes it even better). Cost is higher than the incandescent but the halogen lasts a lot longer (3,000 hours compared to 750 for the incandescent).

Had four designer bulbs in the bathroom and took one out. Replaced it with one of these and I could actually see how dirty my bathroom was becoming. Had to get out the cleaning products and use some elbow grease. Now I turn this light on and WOW the bathroom is blinding bright.

Bulb throws off a very clear non diffused light. I like it. Throw out those low watt bulbs, especially the curly flourescent bulbs that are worthless. You'll go blind using that light.

I recently purchased this lamp for my living room, as a wedding present to my husband and myself. The first shipment was missing parts, and as always, Amazon had a new one out to me in two days.

If you do not have another source of light for your patio table, this is a must have. My husband and I play cards for hours each night in the summer. These are actually pretty amazing... extremely bright. I bought them for a wedding reception decoration, and was worried that the batteries might not last. They use three double A's. So, the ones I tested ran for four days straight before I stopped the test. I was using alkaline batteries. I also think they were the closest to "purple" of any of the LED lights we ordered, certainly not blue. Maybe they vary... [see below] The hearts can be pulled off the LEDs and then they are not nearly as bright because the light is concentrated into a beam out the end. With the hearts in position, there is much more of a 'glow' from each heart. By the way, the hearts are textured with sort of bead like bumps. Has a nice softening effect on the light.

Note... I had also ordered some LED tea lights which were supposed to be purple, and those were blue. I ended up ordering pink tea lights to get something closer to purple (maybe violet)?

ETA: I discovered I do have two separate colors from two different distributors... The first three I purchased were a bit closer to blue than the four I purchased more recently. The more recently purchased light set was clearly more violet than the earlier purchase. I had only checked the newer ones when I wrote the review.

This review as far as I can tell, will be associated with the more violet ones I purchased more recently, but it could be that Amazon puts the reviews with the product and not a particular vendor/distributor. For the record, the more recent ones, which are more violet, came in a blue box labeled 3474-LO719c with a bar code of X000DHK51F... the earlier purchase came in a zip lock bag.

Lights LOOK purple in picture but are actually light blue as described, they are extremely bright. Not exactly what i thought but kept them anyway. Guess online and computer purple is really not exact. Oh well, they are in excellent shape and working order and arrived on time.

The lamp looks great and provides plenty of light. However, after I had used the lamp for the first night I had it (it was on for 2-3 hours), the following morning the shade had shattered. Presumably this happened because the shade (made from glass) couldn't handle the heat from the lamp, and shattered as it cooled down overnight. I had followed the manufacturer's instructions when assembling the lamp, and the pieces were all intact when the lamp was delivered.

This lamp blended in beautifully with the rest of the table/countertop light fixtures throughtout the house (frosted glass, stainless steel finish). It's well constructed and perfectly balanced regardless of the position into which the gooseneck is tilted. The on/off switch is thoughtfully set in the base, making for a stable operation. After shopping the web and almost giving up, this was just what I was looking for!

I've been searching for a sewing light that's bright, adjustable, won't obstruct my view, doesn't take up a lot of room or get super hot. I've tried many different lights, nothing really comes close to this one. Pros: 1) Flexible you can adjust the arm so it can "bend" over and go up and down, 2) No Obstructions does not obstruct my view, I can see the needle and stitch plate clearly without obstruction or shadows, 3) Takes up very little room you just clamp the lamp to the right of your sewing table, hardly takes up any room, 4) Stays cool not hot to the touch. I really like the Slimine Table Light it is just what I needed for sewing. I have bought many other lights, but this one is the best. I put it to the right of my machine, and it never gets in mt way. I am currently studying for another credential to further my career goals. I use textbooks as well a online content to study. I recently purchased this lamp as a replacement for an older lamp in my home office. I trade stocks from home so I needed something that casts the proper lighting for keyboards and monitors. This lamp has four lighting modes, brightness control, and a timer. I was able to quickly select the proper lighting mode and brightness for my environment. There is also plenty of flexibilty, a sleek design, and a reasonably small footprint. This lamp will work in almost any environment but is especially nice in a high-tech office.

This is by far the one of best LED desk lamp I have ever used. The Conoco® Smart TT-DL01 (Piano Black) LED Desk Lamp is very sleek and has a glossy black finish all over. This lamp has 4 different modes of light (reading, study, relax and sleep modes). You can choose how bright or dim the light is on each setting. This lamp also has a sleep timer button that turns off automatically after 1 hour and a 1 amp/5 volts USB charging port. It has 2 moveable "arms" for adjusting the lamp angle to your personal preference. I really like that I can put this on my desk and study using the lamp while having my iPhone charging next to me using the USB port on the lamp. This is a very modern designed desk lamp.

Light mode descriptions (color temperatures):

-Reading mode (4,500-5,500k): This is the brightest the lamp can go and is great for reading. It uses all the white LED's and the incandescent light tone with it.

-Study mode (5,500-6,500k): Not quite as bright as the reading mode but only uses the white LED's to give a more white bright light.

-Relax mode (3,500-4,500k): This mode uses the incandescent light tone and the white LED's but are very dim and is good for relaxing in bed and looking through a magazine without the need for a bright light. I like this mode for reading in bed.

-Sleep mode (2,000-3,000k): This mode only uses the incandescent light tone and is great for providing light while relaxing. This mode does not stain your eyes if you turn it on when you wake up from sleep. This is my personal favorite mode.

This lamp is great for the environment because they barely use any electricity and they are rated to last more than 40,000 hours of being on. It uses 75% less power than typical fluorescent light.

Specifications:

-This lamp uses 14 watts and operates on DC 12 volts/ 1.5 amps.

-This light can produce a max of 530 lumens which is high and great for this desk lamp and is great for doing homework.

-The USB port on the lamp next to the control touch panel is 1 amp/ 5 volts.

-The lamp fully assembled without the power adapter weighs 2 lb. and 4.3 oz.

Few things/ features I would add to the lamp:

I would like the control panel to be able to spin without having the lamp spinning with it. I want the control panel facing my bed so I can see it and want the lamp facing a different direction.

I would also like the actual light to be able to spin 360 degrees so I face it to the roof if I wanted too.

Overall this desk lamp is outstanding and will be using it a lot for studying, reading and the USB port for charging my iPhone while doing those activities. This is the best designed lamp I have ever seen.

I love that the lamp has three different light frequency settings, along with various stages of brightness. This makes it quite adaptable to varying daylight, cloudy days, night, etc. The swivel base is simple plastic and not very smooth to turn. But those darn controls. It shouldn't take a ton of concentration to turn on the lamp, or adjust the brightness... heck, it should take the bare minimum! But the touch controls on this thing aren't very sensitive. It's like an old microwave where you have to keep pressing "3" to get it to register... same thing here. Thankfully, it seems to remember the last setting so there are days where this isn't an issue. Still Conoco really cheaped-out on this aspect.

I work from home and need a natural light lamp on my desk. I like that this lamp has several light setting. I usually use the study mode during work and relax mode when I read. The design is very sleek and it does not take much space. The material is black glossy plastic, but looks durable. This is my favorite lamp that I have ever owned so far. With this bargain price on Amazon, it is definitely a great buy for me.
