I love this lamp! The base is a tad big, but I live that I can plug in my phone, tablet, iPod, etc and have it charging while I work at my desk. My phone sits upright in the base of the light and I can see any text messages coming in.

The light is Otts usual wonderful light that makes knitting and crafting easier on aging eyes like mine.

I'm thinking of getting a second light for my bedside table.

The lamp light itself is great, if not a tad bit dim. The light is very white and clear, though-not yellow tinted like most bulbs.

It has two USB power ports on the back, so you can easily plug in your phones and charge them. It's nice because it saves me two additional power plugs on my surge protector (for mine and my girlfriend's phones) that would have been needed otherwise.

I bought this new off Amazon. First time I took it out of the box I thought the glossy coat looked dull and/or dirty. Wiped down the Base a number of times only to be more dissapointed as the Finish of this product is lousy. Makes me wonder if I was sent a second hand model.

Cheap Eglo 88475A Dakar-1 3-Light Nickel-Finish Track Light Fixture

There is very little information packaged with the fixture, including what type of bulbs it takes on the fixture itself there was a sticker stating that it takes up to 60W GC16.5, which is a candelabra-base bulb. The manufacturer's website lists this fixture as taking standard E14 socket bulbs, which is apparently a European standard intermediate sizing and probably explains why this fixture has a difference socket type. Throws plenty of ambient light, is sturdy, attractive and easy to install. I would definitely buy it again.

We bought two of these lights for our kitchen. I really liked the rounded curves and the low profile (it hangs only about 5" from the ceiling). It's modern, but with a softer look because of the curves. Hubby was able to install it pretty easily, despite the lack of instructions. Luckily, hubby was also able to identify the bulbs needed (as others have reported, no bulbs are included, and the instructions don't identify the bulb needed) -it's the skinny base candlelabra incandescent (not halogen or LED). Each socket can take up to 60 watts, which you'll need. We tried 40W, and it wasn't bright enough for task lighting in the kitchen.

When we got this light, we immediately saw that it would not work in the location we had in mind. We never took it all the way out of the box. When I initiated a return, Amazon referred me to the seller who promptly emailed an offer to keep it or return it for a 30% restocking fee. I didn't notice that in the return policy when I made the purchase. I never tried to install it or even see how it lights up. The size is the reason we couldn't use it.

I would never have ordered it had I noticed the restocking fee because you really can't determine how it will look or fit until you actually have it onsite.

I was really surprised at what I got for what I paid. I wanted a nice light but didn't want to pay 300+. It's bigger then I thought it would be. The lamp shades are plastic but those are replaceable later if I feel the need. It has a small (maybe 3 inch) pull cord on one end. It has a push switch with a three prong plug also but the cord is a bit small so expect to use an extension cord if you're not going to wire into the ceiling. It doesn't weigh very much so a couple of hooks, drywall screws (anchors), or other typical drywall hanging hardware will do just fine. I went with 3 100 watt cfl builbs and that seems perfect. Anything less will probably seem dim.

I love the look of this light. It is much larger than I imagined but looks great over our pool table. My husband hard wired it so it operates with a light switch. It still has a switch on the cord for the option of turning it off or on. The only drawback was installation was very tedious and the lack of instructions no help at all. So... once you finally get it installed, you'll love it.

It was a cute lamp but it definitely was not worth $50. When I took it out of the box I was really surprised at the poor quality. And the base is actually brown but looks white in the picture. Ended up sending it back.

The package I ordered from Amazon looks like the illustration except that the main unit has DSI shown on the face. I have had several frustrations with this item. It was necessary to click the remote unit several times before the receiver would turn on the light. Thinking that was caused by the surge suppresser it was plugged into, I plugged it directly into the wall AC-DC. Same behavior. Thinking it was delivered with a weak battery, I replaced that too. No improvement.

The remote and the sensor are in the same room but divided by a wall. The signal does not require flowing thru a wall or door. I have another unit that I bought several years ago which, by the way is much smaller, and that works beautifully with just one press of the remote.

No more DSI products for me.

I bought this product so that I would be able to turn off my sound amplifier from the opposite side of my 2-story house. I play music using a Sonos system controlled wirelessly by an iPod Touch. At the end of the day, when I'm upstairs and it's time to retire, I can turn the Sonos system off wirelessly, but the amplifier that the Sonos is connected to will stay on all night, drawing a lot of electricity. I now keep the remote control for this gizmo at my bedside. When I want to turn off the amplifier, I simply push the button on the remote. It works instantly and perfectly every time through all the walls and floors that separate my second-story bedroom from the amplifier on the first floor.

I wish I could say that I can also turn the amplifier back on using this gizmo, but unfortunately my Harmon Karmon amplifier doesn't work that way. Pushing the button on the remote control for this controller just puts the amplifier back into standby mode, and I then need to either use the Harmon Karmon remote or press a button on the amplifier to turn the amplifier back on. Also, in order to avoid having to carry the remote for this controller back downstairs again the next morning, I had to plug the mother unit for this device into a plug where it's easily accessible (not hidden behind the entertainment cabinet), so that I can press a button on the mother unit itself to turn the power back on the next day.

If you do not have another source of light for your patio table, this is a must have. My husband and I play cards for hours each night in the summer. No more dragging out the extension cord from the garage. This light is surprisingly bright, simple to use and lasts for several hours. My only complaint is that you must recharge it EVERY DAY, even if you have used it just a few minutes the night before. I would love an extra battery, but I can't find how to purchase an extra one. I purchased two of these swing arm lamps for bedside use. One was totally unusable due to the swing arm not being able to support the weight of the lamp end. It was totally disconnected at the swing joints. Amazon quickly sent a replacement. We are using the lamps but are being very careful when we need to move them in any direction.

We love the looks of the lamps but the connections between the moving joints need to be stronger and more substantial.

Additionally, we found while there is a wattage limit on the fixture, this can easily be dealt with by using CFL bulbs instead of florescent.

This small light packs a substatial glow especially for a battery operated product. I did not expect it to be so effective in lighting my space. This lamp is great and does what it needs to do. Lights up the work space and is small enough to where it doesn't overload the work area you're in. The only thing I'd like better would be for the usb cord to be a foot or so longer.

These are pretty nice lamp shades and I'm satisfied with them for what I paid. Since they are dark, they don't product a whole lot of light, but the lighting is still relaxing. I bought these to replace lamp shapes from a 3-peice lamp set I'd bought years ago (3 table lamps and one tall floor lamp).

It said that it had a continuously variable light switch (like a stereo volume control) but it came with a "Low, High, Off" rotary switch!

Call me a perfectionist, but when I spend 2 hours online looking for "just the right lamp" (on a low budget) I expect to get what is advertised. The hinge won't hold hte lamp in position on the middle range of the arc: It can be at a high anble or a very low angle, but not at the angle I want to illuminate my keyboard.

I didn't have real high expectations for this lamp given its price on Amazon (although I've seen it for quite a bit more on some other sites), but the components are mostly plastic. The switch rotates through low / high / off settings. Be aware that although it looks like the arm swivels at two joints, the lower joint only moves between an upright / vertical position, and AFT. Because the light is rather small to start with, this means you can't really position the bulb portion very far forward of the base.

The switch is an old turning style I would have preferred the rocker style. The low light setting is too weak. The hinges are very weak. You must tighten the hinges when you get it, or the lamp will not stay at any angle. Considering all that it's not a bad lamp for the money. Amazon's Prime choices are very limited in this area.

This is cheap and flimsy. It has a hard time holding it's position without sinking due to it's weight. The bulb has two settings, dim and dimmer. It doesn't give bright enough light to do anything with. It's a waste of money.

These lamps are beautiful, unique, and well built. The bases are very heavy and very sturdy. I love the touch feature so much I often just touch the lamps all over just to confirm that it works as well as it really does. I think the criticisms in other reviews regarding the lack of brightness are very incorrect. On the highest setting, these lamps are as bright as you would want a bedside or desktop lamp to be. I'm no interior designer, but I don't think this is the size or type of lamp one should buy to brightly light an entire room. They are perfect for my bedside tables and I get tons of great comments on them.
