I can't imagine how anyone could rate this product 5 stars unless they are literally short-sighted. I bought half a dozen of these bulbs 1 month ago to use in 3 ceiling lights. I am now down to my last bulb. They last an average of 2 weeks not 11 months. There is nothing wrong with the wiring since normal tungsten bulbs last nearly a year. This is a ripoff by GE of major proportions. DO NOT BUY THIS BULB. It is more of a slow flash bulb than a normal light.

This was one of the key items in creating my DIY monster nursery. It helps tie the theme together in subtle way. Unfortunately, we rarely turn it on because it puts off very little light and is more of a decoration which is mostly what we wanted it for anyway. I was hoping it could be a night light but that didn't work out. Still a good purchase and looks great in the room. But don't expect this to put off a decent amount of light.

I bought this furry green Nessie lamp at a small neighborhood furniture store last summer for my kid's room. It's been perfect for her desk where it does a good job of lighting up her reading space (not bright enough for lighting the room).

It takes 4 AA batteries, but mine also came with a USB cable so it currently draws power from the computer. The bendable neck works well and makes it very easy to re-position the light anywhere you want. There are 2 settings for the light...click it once for a regular white LED light, click again and it will go to a color-changing LED that changes colors every few seconds.

Mine has not had any issues like some other reviews report. I will update this review if any arise. A fun addition for the room and the kids love it!

I ordered this lamp for my son thinking it would look cute in his room and be something fun to play with as well. Unfortunately it is a piece of junk. First, everyone please note the size of this thing, it's huge. Second, it arrived with a broken base. I contacted the seller and after a couple of weeks, they sent a replacement. The replacement was also broken, this time by the light fixture end instead of the base. It also made a strange rattling noise. When I took apart the base to figure out what the noise was, I discovered a dixie cup filled with cement! This is apparently their solution to preventing the lamp from tipping over. Suffice to say, they both went into the trash.

The look of the lamp is nice and the shade seems to be of good quality, but the base of the lamp is not even as strong as tin. It came dented up. I put this on a gift registry so I didn't pay for it, but if I had I would have been really disappointed. I'd say it's worth about $20, $40 tops. I'd recommend Ikea or Marshall's if you have them.

This is similar to the other 2 Luxo lights that I have. Well made, solid, simple. I bought the first one 46 years ago and it's still my desk lamp and still going strong!

This new one is now, of all things, a workshop lamp. (Older, tired eyes need help in retirement with sharpening saws and other close work!) The lamps duel bulbs add to the intensity and temperature of the light.

The lamp comes with a Mickey-Mouse LED? bulb in the center. I replaced that with a 100w real-live light bulb works well. The LED gave off too little light. My only real gripe is the switch arrangement. The fluorescent ring has to be switched on separately on top of the lamp a minor inconvenience. All and all I'm quite happy with this lamp. Maybe you do sometimes get what you pay for.

I've been using these for 20 years--I have three, and I love them. Of course I have a mother lode of 100W, 1690-lumen incandescents, which you need for these--don't be fooled by the low-wattage one they include in the package. (Since the ban, you can't get normal 100W bulbs easily, but there are places where you can buy 100W halogens that fit normal medium base light sockets like this one. You really want >1500 lumens, trust me.)

The combination of a cool white fluorescent and a 100W incandescent gives a beautiful uniform low-contrast light that's first rate for close work.

Don't be fooled by the cheap 'n' nasty Ledu knockoffs!

It would be five stars, except that the last one of these I bought had springs too weak to hold it up--I had to put another spring in parallel with each one. (I had a big spring assortment from Harbor Freight in my workbench drawer, so this only took a few minutes.)

It is well-built as advertised -I should hope so for the pricebut the circular fluorescent light is very slow to come on and you have to hold down an awkward switch for several seconds until it does. I find it a little bothersome to have to operate two separate switches in separate locations to get full illumination.

Mine came with a self-ballasted 2700 K compact fluorescent for the center light instead of an incandescent.

As with all my past Luxo Lamps I am greatly pleased with just how substantial the lamp is. By comparison to other lamps for fastening to a table (for instance a drafting table)this one will last forever. (As my other ones have.)

But the only kvetch I have is that the silly fluorescent bulb that comes with the lamp is too puny. It adds no increase in the light level of brightness. Considering what an investment the thing is you should use a wonderful 70 watt (converted to) LED. It also adds a bit of warmth to the light that no matter how hard the florescent manufacturing companies try, can't match.

First the good:

Small footprint

Very unique look

Extending feature is probably helpful, though I didn't really need it

On to the bad:

The lamp has a noticeable buzzing sound when powered on

I wish the lighting given off was a bit warmer

You have to apply a generous amount of force to the power button to turn the lamp on

This final point brings me to the warranty policy and overall quality of the product. The power button broke within the first 8 months and I probably only used it 15 times. Upon closer inspection, it appears a small plastic washer had broken. Since it was still under warranty, I emailed the company and they responded relatively quickly. They told me I would have to pay a $9.90 "warranty fee" and would receive a whole new lamp (and not even the same color I had purchased). Since that is almost a 1/3 of the cost I paid for the lamp, I asked if there were any other options, specifically, if they could just send me a new plastic washer. That apparently is not an option. Needless to say, I declined their offer.

Overall, I cannot recommend this lamp due to the flimsy power button nor can I recommend purchasing from this company due to their flimsier warranty. I will be sending a copy of this review to the company and if my outcome changes, I will be sure to update this review accordingly.

I got this lamp as a gift from a friend, and it is absolutely wonderful! This light truly is "daylight" and is different from the same daylight bulbs used in other lamps. It iluminates my desk wonderfully and the flexibility is a big plus. The shade is slightly opaque, so it doesn't focus too much light on a single surface, but is just dark enough so as to prevent glarin in my eyes.

I have been using this lamp for only a few hours, so I have nothing (so far) to say about its durability, but I don't expect that to be an issue.

The only "con" I can think of is the on/off button. Because the lamp is quite cylindrical, it may be difficult to switch the lamp on and off with one hand.

This lamp is good looking and appears to be just what I had in mind. Unfortunately, the switch is not functional so I can't tell you anything else about the lamp. Another note of caution. This lamp cannot be returned to Amazon because it comes from another supplier. Amazon will issue a refund. If you opt for a UPS pickup, be aware that you can print a return authorization but you will look all day for a way to print a return label. Turns out the UPS driver brings it with him or her.

I bought this mainly because of price. I received a lamp that is almost a work of art and is also versatile and functional. It appears to be well constructed and is well weighted. The best part is being able to use it as an articulating lamp by pulling up on the shade and adjusting the light where you need it. It has a small footprint and is sitting on a small hutch on my computer desk. The included 15W fluorescent bulb provides a lot of light but lets the lamp and shade remain cool.

My only complaint is the switch which is a rectangular push button surrounded by a heavy chrome bezel. This makes it a little difficult to push and the switch requires a positive input. Not a real impediment as a pen, pencil, etc. can be used if you can't get your finger into the bezel.

It arrived quickly packed in a separate box. The product packaging was the best I have seen in some time and it would have to be thrown agains a wall to get damaged.

i was looking for something that would replace my regular reading lamp that i use with my computer. my regular lamp has a 40 watt incandescent bulb which does a nice job of providing the basic illumination i need for my keyboard and any written material i am using. this lamp throws a much more focused very white with green tinge light typical of an LED type lamp. since this lamp is expensive i was optimistic that i would be getting perhaps one of the newer and brighter LED lamps perhaps with the color compensation. i will say the product appears to be one of the better quality china made products but the light aspect is lacking. it might be good for a workbench where you need a focused light for some project but it will not replace a regular desk lamp.

This pendant is beautiful and seems very well made. However, the color was not what I was expecting from the pic online (it's so hard to tell for sure) ... it's slightly more 'lime' than it appears online. This, unfortunately, made it so it wouldn't blend as well as expected in my kitchen so I am returning. Am considering re-buying in the clear seeded glass or mercury glass, but will take my time to be sure. These pendants are also fairly large -the description/measurements listed are accurate, but just wanted to point that out in case someone is expecting this to be a 'mini' pendant, which it is not.
