This was one of the key items in creating my DIY monster nursery. It helps tie the theme together in subtle way. Unfortunately, we rarely turn it on because it puts off very little light and is more of a decoration which is mostly what we wanted it for anyway. I was hoping it could be a night light but that didn't work out. Still a good purchase and looks great in the room. But don't expect this to put off a decent amount of light.

I bought this furry green Nessie lamp at a small neighborhood furniture store last summer for my kid's room. It's been perfect for her desk where it does a good job of lighting up her reading space (not bright enough for lighting the room).

It takes 4 AA batteries, but mine also came with a USB cable so it currently draws power from the computer. The bendable neck works well and makes it very easy to re-position the light anywhere you want. There are 2 settings for the light...click it once for a regular white LED light, click again and it will go to a color-changing LED that changes colors every few seconds.

Mine has not had any issues like some other reviews report. I will update this review if any arise. A fun addition for the room and the kids love it!

I ordered this lamp for my son thinking it would look cute in his room and be something fun to play with as well. Unfortunately it is a piece of junk. First, everyone please note the size of this thing, it's huge. Second, it arrived with a broken base. I contacted the seller and after a couple of weeks, they sent a replacement. The replacement was also broken, this time by the light fixture end instead of the base. It also made a strange rattling noise. When I took apart the base to figure out what the noise was, I discovered a dixie cup filled with cement! This is apparently their solution to preventing the lamp from tipping over. Suffice to say, they both went into the trash.

Review of Servus By Honeywell Northerner Series Max Waterproof Boots

I wear a men's size 8.5. These only come in whole sizes. There is no sizing under the Product Description other than for women. Any info. I saw on other Websites said if you wear a half size (in men's) you should go up to the next size, so I ordered a size 9. They arrived today and they are so large that my big toe doesn't reach the textured front part of the boot. I contacted Amazon customer service by chat to see if they had sizing info. I was hoping to use these today and didn't want to exchange for an 8 if they would be too small. The customer service told me to refer to the Product Description which I then told them the Product Description did not provide much information. They then gave me the manufacturer's phone number to call for assistance. I called the phone number and it was for a arts and crafts company called Ranger that doesn't make the boots. I did some Internet searching and found the Website and phone number for Servus/Honeywell Safety Products (the manufacturer, 800-267-6809 servusproductsdotcom). They answered right away. They said a size 8 boot fits a foot up to 9.9 inches long. My foot is just under this, so a size 8 should be perfect. I now have a size 8 coming from Amazon. I'll update when the new boot comes if indeed it is the correct size. Also, if it helps anyone, the customer service said the boots are a "D" width.

Quality-wise, my initial impression is they seem like a very tough rubber boot. The only flaw I see is at the top of the boots where the inside liner meets the outside rubber it is kind of uneven like it was cut with a scissors by hand. Some areas are green rubber, some spots look like the liner and some spots are even and look perfect. I also ordered a pair of boots for my wife and hers look even worse. My only concern is if this will rub on our legs causing eventual pain.

**Update 09-25-13**

The new boots, size 8 still feel pretty big, but I didn't feel like messing around with the return and possibility that a size 7 would be too small. Also, we've been getting a lot of rain, so I really wanted to go test them for my intended purpose which was hiking in a park by us that has been too wet and muddy for regular shoes pretty much all summer. The new boots still had the kind of choppy unfinished look at the top, but I didn't notice it causing any discomfort or affecting the durability. The boots worked awesome for hiking the trails (there is no elevation, mostly mud, sand, foliage and water). I hiked roughly 4 miles on the trails with them and my feet were comfortable the whole time. I always wore a Wigwam pro hiking sock with them and tucked my pants into them. The majority of the trails were under water from a depth of just the boot treads to a few inches from the top of the boot (~13" deep). No leaks at all regardless of the water height or how long I was wading through the water. The trails are so flooded that any normal hiking boot never would have made it (like my Vasque). It is also comforting having a higher boot since there is supposedly water moccasins around. On my first test hike with the boots I came across what I believe was a banded water snake which I thought was a water moccasin at first glance. After days of rain and the water depth increasing, I started using my Leki hiking poles which really helped with balance and navigating the dark, non-translucent water. I would say the temp during my hikes was 80-85F, so like most waterproof things, they can get pretty warm. I went with the sun setting, so the sun wasn't a big factor in heating them up even more. One kind of "duh" moment was the first time I hiked with them when it was raining hard, the rain ran down my pants into the boots a little, but even so it wasn't much water after 4 miles and didn't affect the comfort. These are also great for going out in the yard when it is wet. I've only walked a few blocks with them on cement. It wasn't bad, but I suspect your feet may get tired with extended pavement time. The other thing that was awesome about hiking with them when it is so wet and/or flooded is no one else is anywhere in the park. You have all of the trails and nature to yourself and you see more nature since no one has scared anything away;) Might be time to head to the state parks around the area that will also be flooded...happy trails!

Boot is perfect for working outdoors in wet and dry wooded areas and pasture land. Waterfroof, rugged, protects shins from brush and injury. Much better than cheap, imported "black rubber" boots. I expect these to last for several years and I plan to buy again.

then they sprouted a tiny leak or two. but so far the leaks are tiny and i can live with them. i still wear them every time i go outside and in the garden.

update: october 20, 2013 they are finished. the cracks grew to over an inch each. i got four months use out of these boots. the worst performance of any boot i have tried in recent history.

I now own two of these desk lamps. They were purchased to sit on bedside nightstands, to provide a good source of light and, at the same time not over crowd the space. Both of these needs were met. Exactly as advertised except for interpretation of color. The shades are supposed to be gold. They are more bronze or greenish gold. The color still worked for our purposes, but it is darker than advertised. They are well made.

This five drawer chest of drawers is exactly as described on the product information page except each drawer is lined individually with fabric. This chest of drawers looks exactly like the picture displayed on the Amazon.com product information page but if you look very closely you can visibly see the fabric just inside the open faced handles. I personally believe it is a very beautiful piece of furniture and I am glad I went with the five drawer unit instead of the four drawer unit. The fifth drawer and the individually lined drawers add an air sophistication to this "Cabinet Storage Chest".

I got this and the other shorter chest to put in the bathroom and laundry room for some storage. They were a perfect choice. They are not something that will last to pass down to your grand kids, but they are lightweight, sturdy and presentable. I would definitely get these again at the price.

I purchsed this item for my daughter as a gift. When we receive it, the top of the box was smashed in ( this was done by Federal Express). We loved the quality, look and size of the chest, but it was severly damaged when we received it. I contacted the seller, who asked that we send pictures of the damaged product. We sent pictures, and within a week we received another chest and they asked that we discard the damaged one. The new chest we received was perfect. The only negative experience with this product is that the shipping company (Fed Ex) should be more careful. I will difinitely order from this company agaim. They were prompt and courteous with replacing the damanged chest and the quality of the chest was very good.

If you have a small space and are looking for a chest of drawers, this isn't a bad piece. I was a little disappointed in the material. It's a bit flimsy and the quality could be better. A small area on the bottom drawer is discolored, but it's inside the drawer. It arrived very quickly. I've ordered from this company in the past and was pleased with my previous order. Just thought this could be a little nicer but it serves the purpose.

I'd like to give this product 5 stars. It works well, it has different lighting levels for multiple modes, I can plug in another device directly into the lamp, and I can fold the top down when I'm not using it. However, something about the lamp head design prevents me from rating it higher. Part of the reason is that I really expected a flood of light when it's turned on, but the long, narrow row of lights tends to focus the illumination almost straight down. I guess my expectation for a natural light LED lamp that tilts is that I'd be able to bring a really high volume of light to my desk area without using an overhead light as well, and this light seems a little short of amplitude.

This is by far the one of best LED desk lamp I have ever used. The Softech Natural Light Smart LED Desk Lamp is very sleek and has a glossy black finish all over. This lamp has 4 different modes of light (reading, study, relax and sleep modes). You can choose how bright or dim the light is on each setting. This lamp also has a sleep timer button that turns off automatically after 1 hour and a 0.7 amp/5 volts USB charging port. It has 2 moveable "arms" and 1 twisting "arm" for adjusting the lamp's angle to your personal preference. I really like that I can put this on my desk and study using the lamp while having my iPhone charging next to me using the USB port on the lamp. This is a very modern designed desk lamp.

Light mode descriptions (color temperatures):

-Reading mode (4,300-5,300k): This is the brightest the lamp can go and is great for reading. It uses all the white LED's and the incandescent light tone with it.

-Study mode (6,000-7,000k): Not quite as bright as the reading mode but only uses the white LED's to give a more white bright light.

-Relax mode (2,500-3,300k): This mode uses the incandescent light tone and the white LED's but are very dim and is good for relaxing in bed and looking through a magazine without the need for a bright light. I like this mode for reading in bed.

-Sleep mode (2,500-3,300k): This mode only uses the incandescent light tone and is great for providing light while relaxing. This mode does not stain your eyes if you turn it on when you wake up from sleep. This is my personal favorite mode.

This lamp is great for the environment because they barely use any electricity and they are rated to last more than 40,000 hours of being on. It uses 75% less power than typical fluorescent light.

Specifications:

-This lamp uses 14 watts and operates on DC 12 volts/ 1.5 amps.

-This light can produce a max of 530 lumens which is high and great for this desk lamp and is great for doing homework.

-The USB port on the lamp next to the control touch panel is 0.7 amps/ 5 volts.

-The lamp fully assembled without the power adapter weighs 2 lb. and 4.3 oz.

Few things/ features I would add to the lamp:

I would like the control panel to be able to spin without having the lamp spinning with it easily. I want the control panel facing my bed so I can see it and want the lamp facing a different direction.

I would also like the actual light to be able to spin 360 degrees so I face it to the roof if I wanted too but it does tilt about 45 degrees from my perspective.

Overall this desk lamp is outstanding and will be using it a lot for studying, reading and the USB port for charging my iPhone while doing those activities. This is the best designed lamp I have ever seen.

I write software for my job. Spend hours a day at a computer screen and reading thru tech books. This desk light fits the bill quite nicely. In all honesty, I will never use the two lowest settings, but the two higher settings are perfect for desk work in a low light environment. The most useful feature of this lamp is the fact that you can swivel the lamp housing itself so as to best adjust to your lighting needs. The price is a bit on the high side, but the estimated 20 year life span, IMO, justifies this. Small foot print, fairly light in weight, the 4 settings (each with 5-6 intensity settings), make this desk lamp perfect for all around "desk work". The USB charging port does not have enough amps to charge an iPad, but is fine for an iPod or iPhone (while it will not fully/quickly charge an iPad, it will power it so it can be used if the battery is low). The soft touch controls are very responsive and accurate. This lamp Does have a power supply which is a bit bulky as opposed to just plugging directly into an AC outlet. Being an LED lamp, there is no humming or warm up time. Overall, I am very satisfied with this lamp; it sits there, unobtrusively doing what it is supposed to do, day after day. Again, the only downside is the price, but, if it lasts several decades, this will be the last lamp I buy and from that perspective, the price is not that big of a deal.

Quite nice lamp. Contemporary styling. Has four color settings for reading, working, morning and a night light. The morning setting seems just like the working one. Good amount of light, and the long set of LED elements spreads the light well for a desk. It is efficient with no hot bulb.

It may be worth noting that LED lights are quite efficient, but the ac adapters are not always well designed, such that leaving the adapter plugged in may consume essentially as much power as leaving the light on. I have not checked this one. Still much better than an incandescent.

Another note there are not assembly instructions, although it is simple, just unscrew the plastic nut on the bottom of the upright, put the mating bolt through the base, and reinstall the nut. It is not immediately obvious that the nut and upright are not one piece.

I read a lot so this lamp is on my bedside table. It replaced an expensive all brass reading lamp that generated lots of heat and was much more expensive. This lamp is not cheap but in my opinion warrants the expense. It has 12 settings for different lighting. It has a USB port for plugging your phone to charge. The light swivels and turns so you can adjust it to suit your reading angle. Some comments say that it's cheap plastic but the plastic is sturdy, computer grade plastic that doesn't seem cheap to me. The base is heavy so when you tilt the light it stays put. The touch spot for on is lit so I can find it in the dark. It has a timer so you can set it to go off in 30 minutes. I really like the lamp and recommend it.

We wanted more light over the round black slate dining table near the corner of the room. I was afraid this might be a big disaster, as it was difficult to guage from the photo if it would work out, but the dimensions suggested that it might be OK. It was delivered with a very heavy base (46 lbs), a box for the chrome globe, and a very large flat box for the main supporting pole. My wife and I took about an hour assembling it (very technically demanding for us amateurs) and then I held my breath, because it would be really difficult to re-pack and send the lamp back, not to mention dis-assembly. However, it has turned out to be the hit of the room. It's a georgeous additon, and it lights up the middle of the table without interfering with people sitting around the table or getting up and down from their seats. I didn't want to have to install something hanging from the ceiling, and this has allowed me to avoid that. Plus the lamp is a wonderful addition to the room, like a piece from MOMA in NY or SF. To me, in person, it looks a thousand times better than the photo. Very pleased for the specific use I had in mind.

heavy and well constructed, this lamp is just right for our room! be careful putting it the top portion down on the bottom portion. you have to loosen the friction bolts so that the top slides down far enough otherwise it will tip.

I ordered these solar lanterns on a Tuesday. They were delivered to my front door 2 days later. The colours are incredibly vibrant and what I most enjoy is the ease of use. I simply hung them on my front porch swing to charge in the sun and two evenings later, Voila! Wonderful light. All I had to do was unscrew the top hanger and turn the switch to ON. These look great and very festive at night hanging out on the patio. Please make sure to look carefully at the tops to align the markings to remove the cap to access the switch and battery. I accidentally removed one of the little plastic nubs that holds the lantern on the cap, but easily fixed it by wrapping the rim with black electrical tape, it can't be seen and it works fine. Put your glasses on and you will have no issues with the instructions.

These are three different colors of Chinese lanterns that are solar powered. They charge during the day and they come on at dusk and remain on until the battery is depleted or until dawn, whichever comes first. They come collapsed and easily open up for hanging. We actually put a small rock into the bottom of the lantern to hold it fully open and they quickly stretched into the full open shape. You can remove the solar panel top and on the inside is an on/off switch that you need to set to on to allow the lamps to operate.

Each lantern contains an AAA rechargeable Ni-MH battery rated at 1.2 volts and 600 mAh. It is easily replaceable. The lamp needs to be mounted where it can get bright sunlight without obstructions for 6 to 8 hours daily. With a full charge the lanterns can stay on for up to 8 hours. The LED lights are rated to have a lifetime of 100,000 hours of operation. The lanterns themselves are 10 inches in diameter and are made of a thin synthetic material that easily lets you see the light at night.

These lights are easy to set up and hang and they add a nice ambiance to your deck, porch, patio or balcony. The lanterns are great to add accents to your favorite sitting areas or to use for a party, garden or front porch. They require no electrical wiring and you can charge them in the sun and move them into a location that you want to use them in for your convenience. They emit a soft light and the color of the lantern material adds color to the effect of the lighting.

Make sure that when you hang the lanterns that you do not set them below a light that comes on at night because that will prevent the lantern from turning on. We take our solar powered lights inside in the winter to keep the batteries from being damaged from the cold winter weather. Make sure to turn off the solar devices when you store them to preserve the battery.

One of our lanterns did not come on and I removed the cover for the battery and found that it had been knocked out of its holder during shipping. Simply plugging it into place solved the problem. I like these lanterns a lot and I rate them as 5 star items.
