I bought this as a gift for a 23 year old that loves dolphins. The first one I bought from another vendor did not work and they were out of stock. Luckily, I saw it on Amazon, and ordered another one. It was here quickly and works! It is really blue light and this one has the black base as shown.

Not a sophisticated decor item but it is not really meant to be.

I purchased one of these for my parents three years and have to say that it is a very striking piece. The lamp is made well and the workmanship is excellent. It is still working well as you'd imagine a lamp should. Just based on the look and design and what I've seen other lamps go for I would expect this to sell for quite a bit more, it really is a bargain at the price.

The bottom line is a high quality lamp at a great price, highly recommended.

I am so pleased with this product. It was imperative that I find one as the oldest son had one in his office, the younger son did not. So, for his birthday, I set out to find one just like his brother's. And VOILA!!!! Amazon had it for me. It looks great, was not damaged in shipping and will be a good surprise for that birthday coming up. This should also prevent sibling jealousy, too!! I bought these bulbs for my bedside lamps, and they're not too bright. In fact, they're just right. They were packaged very well and I don't get the feeling like they often get customers who receive broken bulbs with the way they're packed. Came out of the package easily, went right in and eight months later, they're still going strong.

The light burned out on our Duraflame 'Electric Stove' Heater, and let's be honest, the fake burning coals and flames are pretty and fun to look at, so we needed to replace the bulb. We couldn't find our instruction manual for the heater, though. We looked online, on Duraflame's web site, etc.. couldn't find it. All we knew was the bulb read 120v 40w and looked like this one. So we bought this, it fits, we can see the flames again, and all is good in the world.

I can use them, but they are longer bulbs than what I needed. Ceiling fan bulbs are hard to find.

I saw this lamp in a furniture store and was going to buy it I decided to check Amazon first and it was $30 less through Amazon it came very well packaged nothing squished (the shade was in it's own box) easy to put together. My boyfriend is an avid hunter so I wanted to add a touch of that to our living room this is not a tacky lamp by any means well made and sturdy a "handsome" lamp that blends in nicely with the rest of our decor and can also serve as a bit of a "conversation piece". Highly recommend!

The metal bar that shows only at the top in the picture runs the entire length of the lamp, so it is not as pretty as pictured. It comes in a very large box with lots of packaging, so I figured it was too difficult to get it all back together again to return and kept it.

Pictures really can't do this lamp justice. It's beautiful. The base is really elegant and the shade doesn't look "cheap". It's also a nice large size. (not sure if the product description gives measurements, but you won't be disappointed. It's not puny.) But in hindsight, it's a tad on the expensive side for what you get. Just my opinion.

I purchased two of these swing arm lamps for bedside use. One was totally unusable due to the swing arm not being able to support the weight of the lamp end. It was totally disconnected at the swing joints. Amazon quickly sent a replacement. We are using the lamps but are being very careful when we need to move them in any direction.

We love the looks of the lamps but the connections between the moving joints need to be stronger and more substantial.

Additionally, we found while there is a wattage limit on the fixture, this can easily be dealt with by using CFL bulbs instead of florescent.

We were keeping looking for a lamp for my daughter for a while until we saw this one. I read those reviews and then decided to take a chance. But after we got the item and tried a few days, we found we love it. It is a beautiful design. The head is flexible and can go whatever direction for reading. The light from it is perfect for reading. It can be turned on and adjusted by sliding instead of flipping a switch. Anyway, it is a very good product and we are happy that we digged it out from a bunch of products. We will get another one for my son when he grows up a little bit.

The light was delivered promptly, and the LED light is really nice on the eyes. I like the color much better compared to the fluorescent bulbs. The light makes the perfect addition to my study desk!! Really satisfied.

I've used this lamp for a few time. It's light weight, cold to the touch, bright enough. For a lamp this price, I think this is a really good bye. I mean--what else do you look for in a lamp? I give it 4 stars only because the short period I've owned it.

I always look for a good reading light for my kids to protect their vision and this one is a perfect fit. The lamp is compact and looks futuristic. The arm of the lamp is adjustable to different positions and you can even twist it 90 degrees to each side. The level of light can be set to dim or bright by just touching the button. The dim light is good for working on computer and bright light work fine for reading books. Overall, it is a great product. My kids love it and I feel comfortable that their vision will be better protected using this lamp.

The lamp received was exactly as pictured and every bit as beautiful. With all the colors in it, it's quite peaceful to look at . I use daylight bulbs in it and it puts out quite a bit of light (not glaring) and the lamp shade does cover the sight of the bulbs.

The Disney Princess lamp is an immediate hit with the 4-6 year old set who consider themselves princesses as well. The figures are bright and attractive; the music is lively. This is the perfect lamp for any little girl who loves princesses. My daughter got it for her 4th birthday. It is easy to use with a push button to turn the light on/off. The princesses dance and revolve and talk before the light turns off or on. The only bad thing is the volume is louder than you would want right before bed or if you wake in the middle of the night and turn it on. It could also use a night light feature. I had seen a different princess lamp w/the night light. It is also expensive but will last.

Okay, so I really like this lamp. The rosewood has a sort of monastic aesthetic appeal, and the yellowed glow of the bulb through the rice paper is very tranquil. I actually don't own one myself but have given it as a gift to several people, and plan to buy one at the first opportunity. I've examined two or three of these on arrival and all were in perfect condition. Great present. I wish someone would give me one, but I guess I'll have to buy it for myself. ;) Then I will polish it with beeswax and lemon oil. It's that sort of lamp.

I had the same experience as the previous reviewer. I had 2 units, each connected to bedside lamps with 40w incandescent bulbs. When one of the bulbs burned out the dimmer failed. I don't really know which was the cause and which was the effect! There is no way to service or inspect the switch without tearing the case apart. The touch functionality was useful, but it needs to be more robust.

This product is convenient (especially if you're short and can't quite reach the switch on a tall lamp), until it breaks! The first one I ordered lasted about 9 months until it just shorted out. I got a second one which lasted about a month, and again, it just shorted out. Part of it has to do with static electricity generated in the winter time in my house, so when I go to touch it, I shock it, thus making it short out. Luckily the price is reasonable, so I'm not out a ton of money. I will NOT be buying a third and will either buy shorter lamps or learn to stretch if I need to turn on my lamp. You're better off getting an actual touch lamp instead of this quick fix.

With a handicapped person in the house, it's important to have a reliable touch lamp dimmer readily available. We have had Westek dimmers on five table lamps in our house for the past three years, and have NEVER had one burn out or "break." Yes, they will occasionally turn on a lamp during a thunderstorm or after a power outage. You just reach over and turn it off. When light bulbs burn out, you just replace the bulb without touching the lamp switch. The dimmer keeps working. If you turn the lamp switch "off" the touch switch won't work until you turn it back on again. No surprise there. We love this product. I'm ordering a couple more for other table lamps in our house. March, 2010. Used the last of six of these that I've ordered over the past four years. ALL of them are still working perfectly. Time to order a couple more for "just in case" we get a new lamp.

Nice when it works. After an electrical storm the thing sort of got a mind of it's own. It randomly turned on the light in the middle of the night. At first I thought the cat was doing it, but I've seen the light go on without the cat being in sight. It worked great for about 8 or 9 months and controlled a halogen bulb.

Edit 11-29-10. The second touch pad failed and won't work at all. It arrived 4-10-08 and stopped working 11-27-10 while changing a burned out bulb. It just made a pop when the bulb was screwed in. The things have a 5 year Warranty but by the time you pay to ship the old one back, and take the chance the claim will be denied, you can just buy a new one. Too bad they can't make these things last longer. They are really handy when they work.

We've been through two of these. They're wonderful...until....

The first one broke when we screwed in a new light bulb while it was plugged in and turned on. That might be put down to "doing something dumb" perhaps it would have been best to turn the light off first.

The second one broke when a bulb burned out while it was running!

I am looking for the company that makes it, and intending to complain. I would really like to have one of these IFF it could be persuaded to continue to work. I'd hate to think I have to use a surge-protector on an ordinary floor lamp!
