I found this lamp in a magazine & inadvertently threw the magazine away...I started to search the web for this lamp & Amazon had it. It was more expensive on Amazon than the origional magazine [50$ + free shipping vs. 30$ + 30$shipping] but Amazon did have the best price I saw. I was concerned about the size [too small] but it is perfect. I was also concerned about the construction [poorly made], but it is fine. The trunk & stems are wrapped with a black tapelike material which makes it look like bark. The flowers are clear rubber so when adhered to the end of the LED light really illuminates nicely. I'm so glad I bought this item. It comes with extra flower tips in case a few fall off & when lit REALLY adds to the quaintness of my living room. Everyone comments on how cool it is. I love trees & birds & have decorated tastefully throughout my home with this theme...this lamp is a GREAT addition. It does not light up a whole room, but it does give off enough light to add to a room. REALLY neat at night!!

I am really enjoying this lamp. You should know it has one of those square converter-type boxes that plugs into the wall, so it takes more space than a normal plug. The lamp wire plugs into the square box, which plugs into the wall.Fortunately I have it plugged into a low outlet that doesn't show.

I also have a flat, wide bamboo bowl, that I just set the lamp down into, and it gives the appearance of a little bonsai tree growing out of it.

One more tip: the lights are pretty bright. Too much for a nightlight, like I thought it might be, so I'm getting a DIMMER cord, to plug the light into. I think that'll let me have the brightness in the bedroom when I want it, or a dimmer, more subtle glow overnight if I want to leave it on.

You'll have to just play with the 'branches' of the tree, to get it looking right. I had to look at photos to get it straight in my head how it might look best to bend the branches. For example, many look great bent into a curve, as if they're kind of 'weeping'.

I really like this lamp and it arrived packed well, and in perfect condition. Would buy again.

Are you in the market for a $16 smallish fan? Then you are probably trying to decide between the Honeywell Chillout and the Honeywell TurboForce. I have both and like both, but both are suited for slightly different settings. In a nutshell, the Chillout pushes less air but has quieter operation (and a more pleasing tone, but that is subjective); and, the Honeywell has more options (tilt, 3 speed settings) and a more stable base (and as you can guess pushes more air with it's larger fan blades and is louder). So in the end you need to decide which fan will work better for you.

Air Flow: Winner = Tie

(+1 Honeywell) Based upon my observations the Honeywell low setting produces airflow in between the low and high setting on the Chillout. The medium setting on the Honeywell gives more airflow than the high setting on the Chillout. The high setting on the Honeywell give more airflow than can be achieved by the Chillout.

(+1 Chillout) As a consequence of this, however, the Chillout allows you to have a truly low setting for those instances you just want a touch of airflow. The Honeywell is still pretty powerful at its lowest setting. For us, this comes in handy in our daughter's room. This way our baby monitor (audio only) is not overpowered by the strong gust/sound from the Honeywell. Now my daughter is allowed to use a fan overnight with the Honeywell, we would shut it off before going to bed.

Sound: Winner = Chillout

Chillout: 80 decibels (dB) directly in front of the fan, 70 dB about three feet in front of the fan, 45 dB about three feet to the side of the fan.

Honeywell: 80 dB directly in front of the fan, 75 dB about three feet in front of the fan, 50 dB about three feet to the side of the fan.

As I mentioned above, I fell the tone of the sound from the Chillout is closer to white noise, whereas the Honeywell motor overpowers the sound and is higher pitched. The Honeywell sound is not annoying, just louder and less pleasing (for those that like white noise).

Stability: Winner = Honeywell

The Honeywell has a solid base that allows uniform distribution of weight across the entire base. It sits well in window sills with extended platforms in front.

The Chillout has a pair of feet in the front that is connected by a cross bar. The back is a fin similar to the front feet, but pointing backwards. The depth of the Chillout is slightly less than the Honeywell. I thought this might add to stability when used in a window sill or the platform in front of a window if you have one; however, I did not find this to be the case. I found that with the feet design, the Chillout has a more concentrated distribution of weight and therefore has a tendency to slip and fall to the side when used in situations that are not perfectly stable.

Case in point our windows have platforms that sit in front of the window. They run about four and a half inches wide. The Honeywell sits on these with no problem despite extending about an inch or so beyond the platform. The Chillout, despite being only about a half inch beyond the platform, want to fall forward and off the platform because of the shape and position of the front feet and lack of other contact points. We have to use something underneath the fan to extend the effective platform width to keep the fan in place.

Pros: Produces strong cooling winds, perfect for office desks on hot days, takes up little space, fair pricing, good stability support while standing, somewhat small in size, portable, and light weight.

Cons: Not omni-directional, limited to 2 fan speeds, turning mechanism for powering on and off can be a hassle but adaptable over time grip wise, and some white noise (low on low settings and somewhat high on high settings) but bearable.

Overall, I give this product 5 stars because it was exactly what I was looking for and it does its job.

My wife and my sons all "NEED" to have a fan on when sleeping. After killing a number of different fans over the years I have found that this model is by far the best as far a durability, quality of construction, and reasonable cost. Even though it only has two speed that is all I think you really need. Low is good for white noise & high for when you are hot and want some good air movement. I have seen it in dirrerent colors and under differnt brand names but they are all good. Buy it, you will like it.

I bought this fan to replace one of the same make and model that I have used for the last 5 or 6 years. It ran all day for 5 days a week for 5 or 6 years and still hadn't quite given out but it was starting to slow down a lot. For the price I am totally ok with replacing this that often. I feel that I definitely got my money's worth out of it.

I also really like that this is (IMHO) the ideal size for a desk fan. They make smaller ones that don't move enough air and bigger ones that take up too much space. This one's just right.

I purchased this fan after reading the reviews. Overall, it's great. The one thing that's a bit annoying is that it's not adjustable. So the stand it comes on is fixed and can't be adjusted higher or lower. I'm not big on oscillating fans so it doesn't bother me that it doesn't oscillate. It does bother me though that I can't adjust the fan to focus the air flow either higher or lower. This doesn't sound like a big deal but I would think it's a pretty standard feature in a fan so I'm surprised that this was designed this way. Otherwise, it's pretty quiet and is actually quite powerful for it's size.

I had a dark corner in my living room and was looking for a swag lamp which was bright enough to double as a reading light. We didn't really need the table lamp but we fell in love with it when it arrived so we easily made a spot for it. The circumference of the shade of the swag lamp was larger than I had imagined but it still fit the space well. The cord is plenty long and so is the chain, so if your application causes the chain to be exposed it will still look nice. The flickwheel switch is about 6 inches from the plug, which was perfect for me, as I plug it into a surge protector next to my recliner, but if your outlet is behind something, this might not work for you.

The Phillips LED light bulb is amazing. The light it gives out is almost white. No flickering on any kind. Approx power usage on the box says 3 hours a day for a full year will be less than $1. I would pick up a 10 pieces if it were more affordable, A price drop to $10 would be nice.

After spending some time looking at the new LED bulbs, I bought one of these (the last one in stock) to replace a 40 W bulb in the bedside table lamp in our bedroom. The light is quite warm, with similar yellowish cast of the incandescent bulb. The bulb is heavy with a solid build. The light projected from the new bulb has an even pattern, similar to the standard bulb. This is a nice feature as many of the other new LED bulbs have a much narrower dispersion pattern. In my view, a wide dispersion is much better for the typical table lamp.

Altogether, it's a one for one replacement for the standard bulb, albeit at a much higher price. On the other hand, it will pay for itself in 6 months as it burns about 20% of the electric power of the bulb it is replacing. The bedside lights are on a lot more or less all day so we don't come home to a dark home. The estimated power used is about $0.96 per year versus over $80 for the standard bulb. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

I purchased two of these lamps for use as bedside lighting. I am completely in love with them. The quality is excellent and I am totally satisfied with my purchase.

I found that the description did not contain a lot of information I wanted so let me tell you more about it.

The lamp comes wired for plug in use but it has the option to be hard wired. The plug in cord is of a very high quality, better than any other lamps in our home. The lamp comes with two lengths of cord cover totaling around 24 inches. The arm has about a 45 degree turning radius from side to side but can be tightened down so that it doesn't swing.

I would give the installation only 3 stars, but since I'll only install them once...I don't think it should detract from the overall score. A word of advice...USE YOUR OWN DRYWALL ANCHORS! The anchors that come with the lamps are complete garbage. I've never seen anything like them. Just simple tubes that you stick in the wall. No idea how they're meant to work. Other than that, I feel like I really scored with these lamps!

These lamps were exactly what I wanted for bedside reading. Color and appearance were a perfect match for my decor, and the size and style were just right as well. After installing them, I removed the lamps that had been taking up space on my nightstands, creating a tidier appearance.

Installation was fairly easy (I mounted them on the wall, but plugged them into nearby outlets. They also can be hard-wired, but obviously that's not an easy thing to do in an existing house.) All you need to do is drill 4 holes in the wall for the set of screws that is used to attach the mounting plate to the wall. I agree with the other reviewer, who strongly advised against using the included drywall anchors because the anchors looked pretty flimsy, although that would not be a problem if you are mounting into studs because the supplied screws would be fine for that.

All was well until, after mounting them, I noticed that each lamp shade hung slightly crooked. The fault is in the arcing tube that comes up from the mounting plate and curves out to the top of the lampshade on both of mine, the part that hangs from this tube does not hang straight down, but is slightly angled to one side (both lamps were the same in this regard). I really like the lamps and didn't want to go through the delay and hassle of exchanging them, with no certainty that the replacements would be better, so I did my best to adjust the shades to minimize any appearance of tilting. If I can't get used to this over time, I might take them down and try to bend the metal tubes.

Summary: Really nice design, appearance is great, but suffers from quality control in the manufacturing process. Needless to say, these lamps, like 90% of all products being sold these days, are made in China. :-(

Love theses lamps. The only downside is that they are a bit larger than I wanted for the wall on each side of the bed but they are working for us ok. You want to mount them closer to the top of the headboard than I did so they are easily accessible to turn on and off from in bed.

This lamp is nice becuase they provide you with alternate ways of making it a desk lamp: a weighted base or a clamp. The clamp doesnt work on my desk model, but would be great for a workshop table. The weighted base is what I use which has a convenient tray for mini items. The arm allows the light to be moved to the correct position of use. Magifiying glass is clear and works great you can use it as a light or dual magnifyer/light. Very happy with this purchase.

This lamp didn't cost a lot so I didn't expect top quality. However, I'm happy with the purchase. I'd love to have a Luxo on my desk but now we are talking bigger money.

The size of the magnifier is fine and focus is pretty good from side to side. I use it both for close reading (color codes) and for soldering and have no problems. I don't have to keep shifting my head side to side to stay in focus.

The lamp has a good range of motion including side to side at the hood. You have to tighten the hood down pretty good to stop it from just folding. I'm a little worried I'll strip or break something eventually.

The arm is thin tube metal (aluminum?). I suspect over time if I'm constantly moving it the screws will eventually wear through the metal and fail. I'm expecting maybe a year or two of service. The arm joints (elbow and shoulder?) seem to hold better than the hood (wrist?) joint.

The base is pretty heavy and for as far as you can tilt the arm the base holds the lamp in place maybe on the edge of tilting. Move the arm at an angle similar to the picture and things work better. The base has little storage compartments on it for small parts. That is a nice and convenient touch.

I'm on a rock solid table so there isn't a lot of bounce on the lamp. If I tap the hood it will rock back and forth for about 10 seconds or so.

This lamp is kind of generic. The hood is plastic but solid enough. The articulating arm is a thin metal with springs and thumb screws to keep it in place. It stays cool enough with an FE213 13W bulb. Plenty bright. Not a bad lamp for $50. I'm pleased with the purchase.

The instructions we received in putting it together was so incomplete. Sent it back. This is a magnifying lamp and if the instructions are such a sight-impaired person can't understand the instructions or at least see how to put it together, then they should NOT be sold by this person. When I bought this product I thought it was a wall switch with remote extension. But when it arrived, it is actually one piece that may be controlled by Lutron remote switch and also can be controlled by the attached switch (looks just like the wall switch by Lutron -thus the confusion)

You can still pair it with a Lutron wireless remote and that part worked flawlessly.

This lamp was very easy to assemble and looks great! I love the coloring. It worked great for the first few weeks and then began turning itself on and off. It would cycle itself through the settings without being touched. This was very strange. The only way to stop it was to unplug it completely. I guess it's great if you don't mind a constant change in light settings.
