This lamp is so pretty and special with its night light. My daughter uses it daily, and sleeps with the night light on. The lamp gives great light. One warning if the lampshade becomes tilted, the bulb can burn it (it happened to us). I turned that side to the back, but it wasn't really a solution. Since there are so few lamps with night lights built in, I think we were lucky to find it. Now if I can only get another shade...

Buy Chillout Personal Fan Grey/blu

Are you in the market for a $16 smallish fan? Then you are probably trying to decide between the Honeywell Chillout and the Honeywell TurboForce. I have both and like both, but both are suited for slightly different settings. In a nutshell, the Chillout pushes less air but has quieter operation (and a more pleasing tone, but that is subjective); and, the Honeywell has more options (tilt, 3 speed settings) and a more stable base (and as you can guess pushes more air with it's larger fan blades and is louder). So in the end you need to decide which fan will work better for you.

Air Flow: Winner = Tie

(+1 Honeywell) Based upon my observations the Honeywell low setting produces airflow in between the low and high setting on the Chillout. The medium setting on the Honeywell gives more airflow than the high setting on the Chillout. The high setting on the Honeywell give more airflow than can be achieved by the Chillout.

(+1 Chillout) As a consequence of this, however, the Chillout allows you to have a truly low setting for those instances you just want a touch of airflow. The Honeywell is still pretty powerful at its lowest setting. For us, this comes in handy in our daughter's room. This way our baby monitor (audio only) is not overpowered by the strong gust/sound from the Honeywell. Now my daughter is allowed to use a fan overnight with the Honeywell, we would shut it off before going to bed.

Sound: Winner = Chillout

Chillout: 80 decibels (dB) directly in front of the fan, 70 dB about three feet in front of the fan, 45 dB about three feet to the side of the fan.

Honeywell: 80 dB directly in front of the fan, 75 dB about three feet in front of the fan, 50 dB about three feet to the side of the fan.

As I mentioned above, I fell the tone of the sound from the Chillout is closer to white noise, whereas the Honeywell motor overpowers the sound and is higher pitched. The Honeywell sound is not annoying, just louder and less pleasing (for those that like white noise).

Stability: Winner = Honeywell

The Honeywell has a solid base that allows uniform distribution of weight across the entire base. It sits well in window sills with extended platforms in front.

The Chillout has a pair of feet in the front that is connected by a cross bar. The back is a fin similar to the front feet, but pointing backwards. The depth of the Chillout is slightly less than the Honeywell. I thought this might add to stability when used in a window sill or the platform in front of a window if you have one; however, I did not find this to be the case. I found that with the feet design, the Chillout has a more concentrated distribution of weight and therefore has a tendency to slip and fall to the side when used in situations that are not perfectly stable.

Case in point our windows have platforms that sit in front of the window. They run about four and a half inches wide. The Honeywell sits on these with no problem despite extending about an inch or so beyond the platform. The Chillout, despite being only about a half inch beyond the platform, want to fall forward and off the platform because of the shape and position of the front feet and lack of other contact points. We have to use something underneath the fan to extend the effective platform width to keep the fan in place.

Pros: Produces strong cooling winds, perfect for office desks on hot days, takes up little space, fair pricing, good stability support while standing, somewhat small in size, portable, and light weight.

Cons: Not omni-directional, limited to 2 fan speeds, turning mechanism for powering on and off can be a hassle but adaptable over time grip wise, and some white noise (low on low settings and somewhat high on high settings) but bearable.

Overall, I give this product 5 stars because it was exactly what I was looking for and it does its job.

My wife and my sons all "NEED" to have a fan on when sleeping. After killing a number of different fans over the years I have found that this model is by far the best as far a durability, quality of construction, and reasonable cost. Even though it only has two speed that is all I think you really need. Low is good for white noise & high for when you are hot and want some good air movement. I have seen it in dirrerent colors and under differnt brand names but they are all good. Buy it, you will like it.

I bought this fan to replace one of the same make and model that I have used for the last 5 or 6 years. It ran all day for 5 days a week for 5 or 6 years and still hadn't quite given out but it was starting to slow down a lot. For the price I am totally ok with replacing this that often. I feel that I definitely got my money's worth out of it.

I also really like that this is (IMHO) the ideal size for a desk fan. They make smaller ones that don't move enough air and bigger ones that take up too much space. This one's just right.

I purchased this fan after reading the reviews. Overall, it's great. The one thing that's a bit annoying is that it's not adjustable. So the stand it comes on is fixed and can't be adjusted higher or lower. I'm not big on oscillating fans so it doesn't bother me that it doesn't oscillate. It does bother me though that I can't adjust the fan to focus the air flow either higher or lower. This doesn't sound like a big deal but I would think it's a pretty standard feature in a fan so I'm surprised that this was designed this way. Otherwise, it's pretty quiet and is actually quite powerful for it's size.

This lamp is absolutely awesome! I wanted something unique that made a bit of a statement on it's own and that's what I got. The colors are vivid and the design is very artsy. It looks a little like a 70's throwback, but it ties in my decor beautifully. The only little thing I would change is to make the harp a little bigger. I am unable to fit a 3way saver bulb in it.

I hesitated buying this lamp because it's pricey but I finally bought it because I knew it would be so perfect for my kid's pirate-themed bedroom. I am so glad I did! It's very well made and has a very fantasy-like feel which I love for my kids. I love the "Yo ho ho" song that is plays and that the pirate, skeleton and treasure chest move to the song. It definitely reminds me of the Pirates of the Carribean ride in Disney World like another reviewer stated (which I find so magical). We ordered this lamp hoping it was truly a bargain at the price; however as the title says it's just ok. The color is much deeper than the picture it is a beige body not really an Ivory color and the print on the lamp is a dark kind of faded blue. The lampshade is rough around the top I would call it a poor finishing job. Additionally the shade has the circular attachment that slides down over the lamp socket, well at least it will with some coercion, and finally the cord is black; certainly not what I expected from a lamp in this color scheme. Would I buy it again maybe I just know now that it is not the really nice looking lamp in the picture, please look at the size it is small and will only take a 60 watt bulb.

This lamp has done everything I wanted it to do since I got it. It is small and fits perfectly where I wanted it. It has a great design and adds style to the area around it, and it produces adequate light.

It definitely looks like it cost more than it actually did.

Keep in mind, this is a small lamp. This was not made to take up a large amount of space. Know this when you buy it. For me, I wanted a smaller lamp, so I knew what I was getting. But for those of you hoping this would be a good lamp to put at your couch's side, measure out how big this actually will look and possibly reconsider your selection.

Also, as other said, I can also confirm this does not come with a bulb as it is advertised. Not a big deal. I was able to get a 10000 hour bulb for a couple bucks (60 watt bulbs are used, which is nice).

So, if you are looking for a small, stylish lamp, this will do its job nicely.

This is a nice little lamp for the money. I needed something small (to sit on a tiny end table)and I did not want to spend a lot of money. I had looked at lamps at the local department stores and could not find anything that was not around $60 or more. Although you cannot put a bulb in that is greater than 60 watts, it does do the job. The shade is a neutral color and the base is ceramic but is also muted in color. I thought it was a little more vibrant in color from the picture but I think the light colors will fit almost any color scheme. I've been using the lamp since November (it is now February) and have had no issues. Having it sent with free shipping was also a great bargain.

I got the Ore International 15 Ceramic Accent Table Lamp with the base in Ivory color. The order was shipped and received in good time with tracking options available.

Once I opened and unpacked the lamp the base looked fabulous but the lampshade had a few dozen nice dings or dents in it. No I am not exaggerating! Also when I went to plug it in, the cord didn't even reach the 5 feet necessary so I needed an extension cord to reach the outlet. All I had on hand was a heavy duty extension cord, so be prepared if your outlet is more than 4 feet or so from the lamp. Most lamps and small appliances have at least a 6 foot cord, so this was a cheap option on their part to give me a real short cord, which I'd say is about 4 feet long.

My brother recommended you get this type of product at a store where you can see it. I agree, even though I get many items I shop for online. Especially with this company and the type of lampshade used. Otherwise it would have been a great small table lamp but for these faults mentioned I highly recommend you do not purchase this lamp, online at least.

Another note on the lampshade. I noticed even though it's a white lampshade, a lot of the light still seems hindered compared to a frosty glass lampshade, so I would look for another type of lampshade if you are looking for good bright light.

I am using a CFL (compact florescent light) with this lamp and it has no problem fitting in. I got the CFL from Bulborama.com (Tiny Twist Spiral T2 CFL Bulbs Low Mercury) which give off a very nice cool bright white light very similar to daylight. They last 15,000 hours and are among the best CFLs you can buy. The link I am not affiliated or related in any way or form with Bulborama.com or in the lighting business whatsoever.

I ordered this lamp to go by my husbands chair. It offers both light and somewhere to put his coffee. The table is a heavy tempered glass so it is durable but being clear it doesnt look heavy. The lamp itself is very well made and sturdy the base is very heavy so there little chance of tipage. The bronze color is a nice neutral. I would recommend it.

I lost in the house move the clamp that came with my desk lamp. I was glad to find this clamp because, even though it's not as attractive as the clamp I lost, it doesn't 'show' much on my lovely rosewood desktop.

In order to protect my desk more, I cut to shape and attached a piece of adhesive backed felt to both the white top piece and the round metal surface that would put pressure on both the top and bottom of my desk. Oh, the padding might diffuse the 'strength' of the clamp a bit, but not enough to make a difference. The foot of my lamp fit into the clamp's well tightly. I had planned to use plummer's tape to compensate for any play. The assemblage is quite stable.

I chose the felt because it's thin, meant for children's crafts. In retrospect, perhaps I should have used a 'bumper pad' meant for keeping chair legs from scraping wood floors?

it is much better than any of the plastic mounting clamps that we could find. This is used extensively in the service department with a heavy lighted magnifier, and plastic would break easily under the weight, but this does the job and has not left any marks on the desk top or needed screws to keep it in place.

This is a very attractive lamp and we have gotten many compliments on it. I was disappointed, however, that was not the color pictured, and that it tilts to one side no matter how tightly you screw it in. It is also a bit wobbly. This floor lamp works very good for me and it's substantial sitting so I'm not concerned about tipping. It's being used in a large room with no overhead lighting so I wish the bulbs were a higher wattage. I wanted the 2 @150 watts, but the sticker on the lamp said to use 2-100 watts. I like the reading light and it will be handy since it's adjustable. It was well packaged thank goodness.

It's absolutely gorgeous! It's everything I expected it to be. Heavy, quality construction, I like the little metal coils that can be used to hang crystals if I decide...however, this plain version just fits with our home built in 1900.
