Review of Small Traditional Light Blue Porcelain Accent Table Lamp
I bought 2 of these for our night stands and they are perfect size and the color and design of the lamp is beautiful. These are small but perfect for a night stand or accent table. This is a smaller lamp, but that is what I wanted. The color is beautiful and I like the switch on the cord. The sellers were great to work with.

No real complaints at all. I bought this versus the clamp on type because I can use it anywhere I can find room to set the base. The base is nice and heavy and has the footprint of about an 8 ½ x 11 inch piece of paper. I've had clamp on types and they are a bit of a pain to keep fastened tightly to the table or counter in my experience. I'll be more prone to drag this from location to location because I don't have to fuss with the clamp.
Pros:
* Nice heavy base
* Arm stays where you place it
* Decent real glass lens
* Low temperature does not heat up my small room
* No 60 Hz hum at all perhaps solid state devices with no transformer
* Nice wire management... internal to the metal arm tubing
Cons:
* A tad bit pricy, but you get a real glass lens
* Illumination is a very hard white as you would expect from a fluorescent bulb
* Bottom of base need could use some padding or at least some wider feet to distribute the weight over a larger surface area. It may dent or scratch soft wood surfaces.
This lamp arrived in an Amazon box containing only another box and some packing paper. Just gotta have that Amazon logo showing! The lamp was packed well in the inner box, wrapped and in molded styrofoam, in 2 pieces: base and arm/lamp.
The base measures 8x12", and is quite heavy at 8 pounds, centered more near the front than the back. The bottom is black plastic with exposed round-head screws. The top and sides are made of white plastic, molded to form feet on the corners and middle of the sides so that the screws don't damage the surface on which the lamp sits. However, this means there is a very small surface area that the lamp actually sits on, so on a glass-topped desk it slides quite easily. Also, in a rough environment it might be easy to damage the thin plastic feet (think of a vertical sheet of plastic more than real feet), which would send the lamp rocking with no easy fix (other than to sand the other feet and perhaps affix a base covering of rubber or fabric). Since I don't expect to be moving the lamp much, nor is my environment rough, it should work fine for me. However I will have to place a rubber mat underneath to keep it from slipping.
The reticulating arm is made of metal and works well. One thing that I didn't like initially is that the rotation of the bottom joint near the base is of limited movement. However, if the lamp is placed near a wall this limit keeps the arm from digging into your wall, and the arm has a large movement area still, so it doesn't seem to affect performance. The arm has a spike that sits in the base, and a plastic-knobbed screw-in pin secures the spike in place from the rear (this is part of the base). The arm has approximately 30ยบ of swing from the base.
The lamp is mounted to the base on a rotating ring, giving the lamp the ability to rotate into the desired position. The ring assembly is pressure-mounted to the arm, with a knob to adjust the pressure (with detents) so that the lamp can be vertically angled. The lamp is easily positioned. A black rocker mounted on the top of the lamp assembly is used to switch power.
The lens cover has a molded plastic stop to keep it from falling down while you're working. It definitely leaves a small gap when covering the lens, so expect a small ring of dust around the edge of the lens. I'm sure I'll be cleaning it often enough because of solder splatter that it won't affect performance for me.
The magnification is great for older eyes that don't see small details well, like the printing on surface-mount components. I measured the focal distance to be right up against the glass to about 4.5" below it. If you'll need to have your work farther away than that, this lamp may not work for you. The distortion quickly gets painful to look at with work beyond 5". However, your eye position can be at any comfortable distance and still see well; the limit is for the under side.
The lamp is a circular fluorescent, and it is nicely covered in a clear acrylic plastic, which for soldering work means I won't have any solder splattered on the bulb itself, and is easily washable.
Finally, the cord is long enough to reach from mid-desk above left, around the back of my desk, and back to the front-right floor area underneath where I currently have my power strip (we electronic workers are always un/plugging things).
Although I don't like fluorescent lights (they give me headaches when shone directly into my line of sight), the fact that the light is shining away means I can comfortably work with this lamp. I may look for an Ott-light bulb or similar to give full spectrum, but overall I'm going to be very pleased with this purchase.
The only things I think could be better are a factory-installed rubber base cover to prevent slippage and scratches, and of course a lower price (which pretty much applies to everything).
The lamp has an arm with two adjustable limbs. The lower limb, which mounts into the 8"x12", 8 base, is almost fixed, moving only about ~ -30 deg from vertical [abt. -1.0"]. The lower limb however is NOT secure, even though there is a screw on the back side to tighten. The adjustment pin, after about 5 turns will tighten almost hitting the base. It NEVER prevents the pin from leaving the base. The almost fixed lower limb greatly reduced the flexibility of the lamp. It basally rotates about a point with the reach of 23" maximum.
The upper limb moves over a wider range ~ +30deg/-26deg. from horizontal. The lamp is top heavy so, you might have to add additional weight if you plan to operate it at maximum reach.
The base will scar a surface when moved thus, you will have to visit you local hardware store and purchase four ½" feet to prevent movement and scaring it surface.
The fluorescent FCL-22w lamp is bright and shadow free. You will have a problem finding a replacement the lamp. The installed lamp is made by Osram® and cost almost twice the price as other common circular blubs. The lens cover has a molded plastic stop to keep it from falling down while you're working. I now feel it's a gimmick and has no practical use.
The instructions, I use the term loosely, are a joke and appear to have been written by a 4 year old.
The lens is very clear and bright. Not sure it is worth the money! Purchase at your own discretion!

Great lamp!I had been using an Ott magnifying lamp, but was having a problem with the small usable magnification area. The Ott lamp has only 1 light bulb at the rear of the magnifier. The professional quality desk magnifier lamp has a circular bulb which provides great lighting to the entire magnifier area. Circular bulb=no shadows cast by your hands or tools. The base is nice and heavy, the arm is adjustable and stays where you put it. My only complaint is that the feet on the base are metal and not smoothly finished. They will scratch your work surface if you move the lamp without picking it up. I put mine on a rubber mat-problem solved.Best Deals for Professional-Quality Desk Magnifier Lamp - 2.25X Magnification
I bought this lamp in order to see the small electronic components for soldering onto PC boards. My work area is actually more of an office desk with a glass top. This lamp arrived in an Amazon box containing only another box and some packing paper. Just gotta have that Amazon logo showing! I purchased the 8606D-D 5D desk magnifier lamp for my work bench. Upon installation on my work bench, I connected AC power and proceeded to examine the product. I do a lot of wood carving and was finding that at times (e.g. chip carving) my old eyes just didn't see as well as I would like. I researched several self standing magnifyers and decided on this one. It arrived in great shape and I've been very happy with the build quality. I bought it for the glass but am suprised how much I enjoy the light. A lot of the time, you have to worry about shadows when carving, but with the light from above, I don't have to turn on the overhead lights at all! Glass quality and focus distance are good. The fixture remains where I put it and the base is well weighted and nicely shaped. I use the base to hold my knives. I highly recommend the product.Sunday, December 14, 2014

Love the lamp!
It's gorgeous!
I've seen exact same ramp at different store for $250+
I only paid for $160.(Amazon chage the price everyday and today, it's $210! aw)
Like other reviewer said, I'm going to change the lamp shade but it's still nice shade.
I added 3 pictures so people can see the actual lamp! This lamp is very modern and works well in the space. The Lampshade isn't my favorite, but I am going to change it to sonmething contemporary.

I purchased this lamp to be used when my 3 year old granddaughter visits. She is afraid of the dark and always wants a light on. This lamp provides just the right amount of light. It is not too bright, but gives a pleasant glow. The lamp is beautiful. You see a lovely moving park scene with beautiful flowers in the background and then the moving butterflies in front. She loves the lamp and it has made bedtime much easier. The lamp does not get warm and you can leave it on all night.
WOULD RECOMMEND IT AS A NICE ACCENT PIECE.
Hint put it where you can see the back side in a mirror.
You wouldn't believe what's going on the other side !!!

I was very excited about this lamp as I ordered it after seeing a similar one with fish on it. My daughter loves butterflies. This lamp makes a loud whirring sound when I turn it on. It is probably coming from the fan that is inside that makes the butterflies rotate. This product is Made in China, and does not look like it will last long. I am returning it.Sunday, September 28, 2014

Well here is my story; I received my lava lamp cloudy, but I am now a (lava-lamp-oligist) the things you need is a bottle opener, pliers, small strainer, tap water, dish soap, a straw and Epson salts. First cool the lamp till the wax is solid refrigerator might help, then remove the cap carefully your going to reuse it. Next using a small strainer poor the water out and gently rinse the bottle several times with cold water. When the water is clear refill the bottle with cold water leaving a little room at the top, add 2 or 3 drops of dish soap. In an 8 oz glass fill it about 1/3 of the way with Epson salts and add water leaving some room at the top and microwave till hot and mix till the salt disappears (Hot, don't burn yourself) this you can let cool down. Replace the jar to the base and turn the light on. Place the straw in the salt solution and using a finger on the top of the straw remove about 3 inches of the salt and transfer to the bottle. Let it heat and the wax will start melting and moving around. Too much salt the wax breaks up or stays at the top, too little it sits on the bottom, if you add salt water just a few drops at a time or too much salt let it cool down and pour some water out, you will get the hang of it after a while. If it doesn't come out the way you want just start over. Replace the cap and gently squeeze the cap with a pair of pliers if the cap leaks I used clear nail polish (some people use epoxy but you might like to change the water color or the speed of the lamp and polish allows you to easily remove the cap) now your lamp is crystal clear and running the way you want it to.
What's annoying is that the manufacturer obviously knows about this problem. When you unpack the purple wax lamp (and possibly others) you see a sticker on the glass that warns that the lamp needs 4 to 6 hours to warm up properly. But as I said, even that isn't enough time. The supplied 25w bulb is just too cool, and that is very uncool. I guess the manufacturer's lawyers warned them that a 40w bulb might be too hot for kids and result in silly lawsuits (McDonald's coffee, anyone?) So they had to stick with 25w bulbs and hope we'd figure it out. Or maybe they're too cheap to provide a 40w bulb? Or maybe they wouldn't get a UL certification if they did?
Anyway, the 40w bulb works fine and the lamp hasn't caught fire or exploded or burned anyone. Yet.
Update. After having these two Lava Lamps since Christmas I have noticed each day that they liquid becomes more clear. The shipping stirs the liquid up thus creating the cloudy effect. I have upgraded this product to 4 stars and if things keep improving on their own perhaps 5 stars.
Lat the lamp run for a few hours each day and the cloudy appearance clears up on its own.

I have the one with purple wax (and blue liquid) and the supplied 25w bulb was not hot enough to get the wax moving even after six hours (but it was just fine for a different colored wax in my other lava lamp). So I put in a 40w bulb (GE S11 #90401 intermediate base) and within 90 minutes it was flowing as expected. Apparently the different lava waxes require different temperatures. Note that 40w is too hot for some waxes (i.e., the lava won't sink back down, it just floats at the top). What's annoying is that the manufacturer obviously knows about this problem. When you unpack the purple wax lamp (and possibly others) you see a sticker on the glass that warns that the lamp needs 4 to 6 hours to warm up properly. But as I said, even that isn't enough time. I was so excited about having a lava lamp. I let it sit for five days to get it to room temperature. The liquid is not clear nor does it "bubble " like most lava lamps in the past. It takes three hours to heat up and then no multiple bubbles even after six hours. I don't recommend anyone buying this brand. You will be disappointed just like I am.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Lava Lite 2118 Classic 14-1/2-Inch 20-Ounce Silver-Based Lava Lamp
Came quickly. Works well. However the colors are not as nearly deep as these pictures show. The water is more greenish and the purple is in there but doesnt stick out as much as I would've liked. The lamp came in great shape and worked right away. Its been used heavily over the last week with no problems. I will definitely buy another lamp soon. Just dont expect your lamp to look exactly like the picture display.Sunday, August 31, 2014
QisDesign PA01_D Piano Table Lamp Reviews
Unique design and good quality materials used. However, it does not deliver in terms of brightness and had to return it. It would be a good reading lamp but don't expect it to brighten up even a part of a small bedroom. 4-5 of these might do it in a small bedroom. I really liked the design and uniqueness of this lamp and was ready to order tall floor version for living room and another small one for the bedroom but can't justify the price for the lumens you get. Looking forward to 2nd generation of it using newer, brighter LEDs if they ever make one. More expensive coral lamp from qisdesign supposed to be brighter but looking at pictures online it does not seem that much better. This light is pretty much perfect. It lets you touch each lighting piece and turn each one on and off individually. This is a very cool design that lets you have different lighting settings in a very neat way. At night, I leave one or two keys on to give me a night light. Impresses everyone. Worth the money!

36.5" LED Snowflake Reviews
This decoration is well made and will last for many years. The pattern is very pleasing and it nicely twinkles, no strobing effect thank goodness, because it gives off enough light to guide a landing plane. The LED's in this give off a BRIGHT blue-white light. It's a matter of taste, I would have preferred the light to be more glowing (yellowish), but hey, it is a snowflake, so there is good case to be made for the color. Our friends like it a lot, so maybe I'm just too picky. Item arrived promptly and was well packed. We used it on the inside of our front bay window and hung it with suction cups that handled the weight easily.

It's a cute lamp, a little on the small side, more of a desk lamp IMO. I love the colors of the shade, it does get hot when the lamp is turned on, and the shade is a little wobbly because it doesn't screw onto the base. Other then that, no complaintsgood for the price.

Lamp arrived quickly, well-packed, no problems whatsoever. I purchased this as a replacement for our outdated, tarnished bronze piano lamp on the church piano. I placed this lamp on the piano and it looks every bit as pretty as the rest of the church. I was disappointed in the options available for lamps, though. This one is beautiful, but it doesn't match the wood of our piano or the wood of our sanctuary, plus all of our light fixtures are brushed nickel, so the gold trim of this lamp doesn't go with anything either. I really wanted a light that would be consistent with our church lights, but the only thing I could find was a banker's lamp style, which is what we had already and is just too high for an upright piano. Ultimately I am the only one who really looks at the light anyway, so these issues aren't huge. I really wanted the low lamp like this so that I can direct the light on the music and not be as distracting to the congregation during low-light/candle-light services. I was also disappointed in the cost of the light, especially when it is for a small country church with a tight budget. Just seems to be rather expensive for what it is. All of these things are nit-picky, though, and have no bearing on the quality of this light itself. It is excellent quality and sheds good light on my music, across two pages without any problem. I haven't yet used it for more pages (some choir pieces spread all the way across the piano) so I don't know how that will work, but so far, so good.

Some of us old-school folks remember the "Itty-Bitty Book Lite" from years ago. It was pretty good, nice and bright for an incandescent lamp, but a little bulky. This lite is much brighter, maybe a little less sturdy feeling, but folds up to an incredibly small package.
It does work with a reader with some juggling. The base is a little thick for easy use. It's well worth having simply as a backup if nothing else in power failure. For the price, I recommend it.The LED light is super bright, but the plastic seems a little flimsy. It is also a little bulky and bottom heavy, but for sturdy/thick books, it holds up pretty well. The Lift Lamp Shade button doesn't work, but it's just a minor problem. Since the recipient loves to read at night, I think she'll enjoy it.

Pleased with product, it looks exactly as pictured. Casts off soft glow in my small hallway. It is mounted high to allow for artwork display underneath. Although it would be more visually pleasing at eye level, perhaps in a living or bedroom setting. Great value. Lots of positive comments from friends/guests.
