The lamp is about 18 inches high and about 8 wide and widest point of shade.The shade is a laughable to the nth degree. The glue to hold it on is none existent.

I was nervous to buy this because I couldn't find any reviews anywhere online, but I took the plunge. It's a great desk lamp for the price. It's sturdy and doesn't feel cheap. The light is very bright and the organizational compartments fit my needs well. I'm able to store paperclips, post-it notes, pens, highlighters, scissors, and tape easily. The lamp shipped quickly and was super easy to put together (just snaps into place).

My wife purchased this here on Amazon because my 20 something year old gooseneck halogen desk lamp with organizer recently died on me. This was the only model I could find that had a tape dispenser as part of the organizer. The photo looked like just what I wanted. It works great as well, however, the on/off switch is a big bulky computer mouse shaped thing about 12 inches down the cord from the lamp. This means it needs its own piece of real estate on my desk. My previous light had the switch built into the base adjacent to the base gooseneck.As much as I like the storage and the lamp, I am sending it back because I just don't have a place for the switch.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This Energizer LED Task Light was sent to me by Amazon Vine for review. Here's my take on it.
Firstly, the lamp is stylish and efficient looking with a black matte finish base and tubular gunmetal brushed stainless curved arm. The shade is a frosted plastic, lightweight enough to keep from tipping easily.
The LED light has a 250 lumen output which is comparable to a 40-watt light, however, because the light stream is concentrated, it appears brighter. I design jewelry and have been using a goose neck lamp with a 60-watt incandescent bulb; the Energizer Task Light is brighter and better. The color of the light is a pleasing neutral, midway between the yellowish color of an incandescent bulb and the blue of fluorescent light. Even better, the light uses a fraction of the wattage of an incandescent bulb.
While the neck is stationary, the shade can move for best positioning at the work station. The base has a small footprint that leaves maximum space for work projects and at 19 inches high, it stands tall enough to be out of the way for close work. Also, there is a high-low brightness setting. Add this functionality to the sleek design and you have a alight that is useful and looks good anywhere. Of added importance is the six-foot cord has a standard plug which doesn't take up extra space if used in a power strip. The Energizer LED Task Light receives top ratings from this reviewer.
Original review: This task light is sleek and small enough that it will fit in the smallest of spaces. I use mine for reading, writing. clipping coupons and numerous other tasks that I want to see details. I was very surprised by the amount of light that this LED light puts out. When I looked at the size of the LED I didn't think it would put out that much light. It's really quite nice. I also like the way the lamp is arched, it makes it a great reading light as, you can shine it directly onto your book.
The only thing I didn't like about this lamp is that it's a bit difficult to move the LED head exactly where you want it, say you want to move it a fourth of an inchI found it was hard to tilt up and down in small amounts.
Other than that, it's a great light.
The HEAD swivels omnidirectionally, so if you need a spot directed somewhere, this works really well. I cant count how many times I've lit my face, or someone else's face, to draw a portrayt, and couldnt get the light to hit exactly where I needed it. This light can solve that problem. Also, unlike when you have a bright incadescent light near a painting for ultra detail work, you cant burn your arm on an LED light bulb. (I did that, and still have the scar.) One of the best qualities of an LED lamp is ITS LOW CARBON FOOTPRINT. No electricity is wasted creating heat, so you save money over other lighting options. Without a doubt, florescent corkscrew bulbs are a transitory light source, until LED lights becomes the norm. Unlike those corkscrew bulbs, LEDs generate no hazards in disposal. In the next few years, you'll be seeing these types of lamps everywhere. I'm totally happy with this light, both for reading, and for artwork.

The large base doesn't wobble because of its heaviness. The head of the lamp moves up and down without being loose, so it stays on its position.
3. LIGHT: The lamp has 2 settings Low and High. "Low" setting is good enough brightness to do almost anything that does not require intensity of light (ie, reading, using a laptop, etc). The "High" setting is good for if you are working on model toys and planes. I for one, found high setting very useful as I disassemble and reassemble a notebook to fix things and there are many small parts in the notebook.
All in all, the design is beautiful attractive, and practical. The quality is top notch. And the light setting is very useful for everything that you do on your desk. Highly, highly recommended.

The lamp itself is stylish and modern, I think it would work with most modern office spaces. It certainly looks great on my computer desk.
My major gripes with it are that the neck isn't adjustable and that the base/shade are made of plastic instead of something more substantial. They should've been for the cost, but since it's an LED light, you'd be paying a higher price anyways.

After little more than a month the LED in my light got very dim and finally quit working. It said on the brochure that the LED never needs replaced. This worked great while it worked but, for the price it shouldn't have quit this soon! The arc on that crome arm that holds the light, has the grace and simplicity I enjoy in industrial design. As for the dual wattage LED light, its perfect. For one thing, it gives you the two wattages most needed in this type of lamp. The lower setting is about 35 watts, great for reading, or mood. The higher setting appears to be about 50 watts, so if you are drawing, painting, or building seven robot brides for seven robot brothers, you'll see what you are doing. The LED light is marketed as being PURE WHITE, whereas incadescent bulbs tend to be yellowish, and florescent bulbs have blue/green overtones. I do quite a lot of embroidery and my old lamp just died. So I replaced it with the Ultra-90 LED. The LED are very nice and give perfect light over my projects while they are sewing out. The only reason for a 4 star instead of 5 is that the lamp came with no clamp. No problem for me because I have the clamp from my old lamp. But I emailed the business and they responded very quickly. My favorite feature of this lamp is that it doesn't generate heat. I have had many magnifier lamps before and when you are doing small detail work you start to feel like you are working in an oven. This item I used to complete the under counter lighting. accent lighting for my Kegerator. and a Wine Glass holder for my bar.. I purchased three kits and what I liked best was I have a single remote to control all three applications. Super bright and dim-able, I have three controllers. one for each and a single remote to adjust. I am very detailed oriented and absolutely love these... highly recommend.

Just received this clear glass lamp today, and I couldn't be more thrilled. Even more elegant and classy in real life the photos here don't do it justice. It's heavy glass, and the light it emits is perfect for reading or adding beautiful lighting to a room. I have mine in the living room where I wanted something unobtrusive that would also provide good reading light. This is perfect for my needs, and I know it will be a conversation piece as well... it is so unique. Love it. :-)This is a handsome and quality lamp. I use it on a dark cherry table, (kitchen counter high) to read as I stand.

Item arrived undamaged, but with a minor flaw in the green tint, a small air bubble, and of course it was on the front. Not enough of a bother to me to return it, just a manufacturing defect.
This is the second replacement I have had to purchase, my fault I broke them. However, they seem very fragile
and if you move or ship the lamp, I have one word for you, BUBBLEWRAP.

I purchased this replacement shade for a lamp at work that was knocked over; with shipping, it was slightly less expensive than buying an exact replacement for the entire lamp. The shade size fit the lamp, although I went through a fair amount of hassle to disassemble and reassemble the socket and wiring, and then to position the new glass securely without risking over-tightening and breaking it. The new shade looks OK from a distance--it is a few shades of green lighter than the original glass. There were some small flaws (bubbles) in the outer green surface of the glass that are definitely noticeable close-up. (notice I cut and pasted from another) when ordering make sure to order the right size (use a measuring device)I saw some think this was hard to put on, well, not really, you will have to take the lamp partia apart but it was simple, just don't tighten down on the screw too hard, glass is brittle by nature.

Some of us old-school folks remember the "Itty-Bitty Book Lite" from years ago. It was pretty good, nice and bright for an incandescent lamp, but a little bulky. This lite is much brighter, maybe a little less sturdy feeling, but folds up to an incredibly small package.
It does work with a reader with some juggling. The base is a little thick for easy use. It's well worth having simply as a backup if nothing else in power failure. For the price, I recommend it.

The LED light is super bright, but the plastic seems a little flimsy. It is also a little bulky and bottom heavy, but for sturdy/thick books, it holds up pretty well. I recently purchased this product and was blown away. The quality of the speaker is quite decent, the lamp is fantastic and it does not get too hot. I also found that the unit is very useful for getting organized! This fantastic lamp sells for $70 on PBteen, and only comes in two colors, but Amazon sells it for $30 and is available in many colors.
In some of the other reviews, people complained about the lamp looking cheap. I strongly disagree, in fact I think the lamp looks very handsome!! I also noticed reviews complaining the lamp didn't charge their iPod. That is true, however iHome never advertised that it would.
All in all, I think this lamp is the best thing money can buy for a desk.
Update:
Within about 2 months the lamp has completely stopped functioning. I had very high hopes for this lamp but unfortunately it has not lived up to its expectations. Quite useless after all. :(

This is a pretty good item but it could be a little louder. The color isnt exact its close though. Also if you have the 5th generation iPod nano then its not going to fit like in the picture, the right side of the iPod is going to hang off due to the relocation of the head phone hole. I was initially drawn to the lamps because of the photograph but carefully read the reviews to learn that the lamps were much darker than the picture lead one to believe. I couldn't agree more with the reviews. If you are looking for strictly gold tones, these are not your lamps! But if you need them on the brown side, these are gorgeous and very well made for the price. They are substantial pieces and very, very nice in my bedroom. You can't go wrong if you're looking for brown accent lamps. The shades are brown as well and are a loosely woven fabric so they have nice texture.

These lamps arrived yesterday and they were exactly what I was looking for to go in my bedroom. I am using chocolate brown as an accent color and these really fit the bill. Took me all of about 10 minutes to put them together. They came very well packaged and I am very impressed with the quality. Another great Amazon deal!
