This was a great purchase. Just love the lamp and it's smaller one-bulb sibling. The description is misleading the base and shaft are brushed steel, not polished, but the picture reflects the finish accurately. A bit pricey but I'm happy with the purchase. CFL bulbs included. Cord is clear/silver.

This is a very nice lamp and very bright, with a strong clip. My only complaint is that the light bulb is not centered in shade, it touches the side and I don't have the tools to straighten it out. It is very sleek and works well though.

Unfortunately these qualities are "outweighed" by the poor functioning goose neck that sags under the weight of the product. This is a common complaint for goose neck lighting products. The other issue I had was the halogen bulb came dislodged from the receptacle. Reinserting was challenging and I'm not confident it will stay in place. Also, the side of the unit has open slits presumably for ventilation, but these allow too much light through, out the side of the light. I mention this because I have a similar light that does not, and I prefer it.

This is a quality light, but designers need to engineer their goose neck supporting structures better, or they are not useful. The other light I purchased I could not find so I decided to try this "more expensive" product and am disappointed. The light will position itself ok if located high enough that a "sagging" position will not compromise it's effectiveness.

This light is nice and bright, but is very very heavy. It weighs itself down and won't stay in place. The pads inside the clips fall out. Also, the light being halogen is very focused and has a small area that it lights well. I tried using this on my long arm quilting machine. It doesn't light up a broad enough area for my needs. Also, the screen around the bulb, which as to be in place because the bulb is very hot, fell off and now rattles around. I was disappointed.

The polished steel of this clip-on lamp doesn't look or feel cheap. The clip itself is steel as well.

I use this lamp to read in bed. It complements the two lamps from the nightstands by providing light in the mid section of the bed, and marries well with the iron bed headboard it is clipped on.

I have been using this light for a couple of years now and it is fairly reliable. Never had to change the halogen bulb. However exercise caution because it gets very hot (-1 star). The original halogen bulb is a little on the yellow side, which gives a soft light. This can be nice if you read in bed for example, but not if you want true colors to come out.

Best feature of this light is that it really looks well-made and classy for a clip-on compared to the competition, even after two years.

The light was easy to install and works well. However the description says the bulb is not included so another was ordered. Now I have a spare. Also I expected the goose neck adjustment to be more flexible. Part of the issue is that the light is too heavy for the neck which then is not able to maintain the set position. I expected a little more than received.

For an expensive table lamp, it is certainly pretty even when not in use as it adorns the nightstand. I have had it for over a month now and seems to be going strong thus far. If you smartly place it on the nightstand, the on/off switch can actually be handy, but again I have a bigger nightstand than average size. My only irritation with this item was when it arrived. It is huge, even in terms of packaging hence, make sure you have plenty of room and time when you assemble it more so for the styrofoam mess it will cause. Individual parts were packaged well, however it caused crystals to fall off big time while unpacking. Also, the metal ring going through the big crystals is incredibly cheap and gets super challenging for assembling the crystals which by themselves appear to be of decent quality. Won't be surprised if the crystals fall out from the cheap rings soon! All in all, not bad but could be better.

THIS LAMP IS COMPLETE JUNK!!!!! The exterior of the box was not damaged in any way, but the lamp had one broken arm, crystals floating around in the box, and the wiring prohibited me from even assembling the lamp (it appears as though it was wired incorrectly). It was a huge disappointment and I would definitely not recommend this product to anyone. Buyer beware!!!!!!

Total junk. To start, the assembly was not easy, there were crystals all over the box, and I could not figure out how to attach them. The instructions were not clear. The lamp is too big to go on a nightstand. The lamp shade is see through and is too big for the lamp. The crystals are a VERY cheap plastic For the price, not worth it at all, sending both lamps back.

This lamp is absolutely beautiful in our Vegas house but I had to order an extra lamp to make two complete undamaged lamps, then sent back the remnants. First two lamps arrived with broken,bent and missing parts. This is the only time that I have ever had something from amazon arrive in really damaged condition. It is really a shame that the company that supplies amazon packed their product so carelessly. Be prepared to order extra lamps for parts and spend a lot of time assembling. The lamp itself is stunning!

I received the order fairly quickly. The packaging was bad because it came in a plastic bag. The LED light box was slightly damaged, but the lights were ok.

The housing was comprised of a plastic chrome. The wires are very thin, similar to a "wire tie" for your bread. The lights lit up approximately 2 feet in distance. I'm not even sure if you will be able to see them during the day. The mounting screws that came with the lights are worthless. I used higher quality self tapping screws.

UPDATE: I installed the lights in my front bumper approximately 4" above my winch. They are a clear white and illuminate my winch perfectly. I recommend this product for projects and such. These LED lights are a great buy for the price.

UPDATE: One of the lights now flickers after 1 1/2 years later. The other one still works fine. They are waterproof. I went offroading in deep water and they still work.

Too bad for Bulbrite and Amazon that the author of the the only other (2 star) review doesn't know the difference. This is a nice lamp. It's nothing like a lamp you would pay $59 for at Target or Walmart. It has good reach, it appears to be well made, and has great design aesthetics. I LOVE the fact that it offers plenty of light with the energy saving and cool-to-the-touch benefits of an LED bulb. At $150, I wouldn't call it a bargain, (I paid less) but I shopped a little and think it compares well with lamps of similar pricing. The free shipping is not for those on a schedule. I think Amazon put it in a backpack and handed it to someone hitchhiking to my city. It was s l o w and the response to my inquiry about it was lame. All things considered, I'm happy with the lamp.

The LED technology works exactly as advertised. I went out to my local office supply stores but this product is not carried; too pricey for many as halogen is still available for a bit less. My halogen had failed (heating issues) and a friend recommended LED as it is really safer that halogen so I gave it a shot. I am happy.

I wanted a high quality lamp that has the ability to position light where I need it without falling over or breaking. This lamp does the trick, it can be postioned up high, down low, out far, etc. The base is quite heavy and keeps it from falling over. The articulating arm is all metal yet light and well made. The light consumes only 7 watts and should last basically forever. I use it for a work bench lamp where performance is more important than esthetics. My experience with lamps like this is that little stuff usually goes wrong like the switch breaking or the light socket wearing out, or the arm breaking, etc. This lamp appears to be pretty bullet proof and should last a very long time. I was hoping the light output would be a little brighter, but it's still plenty bright enough to read by and when positioned near an object, provides plenty of light. Light output is probably equivalent to a 50W incandescent. The other thing I wish it had was brightness control, it only has on and off. It's a nice lamp though and I'm sure the $150 I shelled out for it will be long forgotten and in the noise in a year or two while it continues to perform.

I haven't found a better desk lamp for anywhere near the money (when you can find these on sale, anyway!). This one puts out a usable amount of light (I don't know if it's equivalent to a 100W incandescent, but at least a 35W halogen) while producing very little heat, so you don't have to worry about burning your hand when moving the head around. But perhaps even better is the articulating arm that is a useful length, allowing you to place light where you want it. There are dozens of inexpensive "architect-style" lamps with arms that LOOK like they allow the head to extend, but actually offer rather limited reach. This lamp, however, is the real deal. Sure, it's a little expensive, but not when compared to what a similar Humanscale lamp would cost...

Negative 5 stars if that was possible. This lamp is way over-priced, very poorly made and pathetically "designed". It is badly constructed out of cheap materials--mostly thin stamped sheet metal covered by a fake chrome plastic tube. An expensive lesson in bad. I was shocked at how badly made this lamp is for the cost. This is difficult to tell from the product photos--the poor joints and details are not apparent even with the zoom, but they stand out on the product out of the box--I put it right back in. It does not come close to the mythical "$59.00 Target Lamp" mentioned in other reviews--don't know what these people are thinking. I have 15+ years in the product design and manufacturing world, I have designed, built and evaluated many lamps among other things, so I feel confident making these comments. Save your money for something better--buy the Target lamp...at this price, you could afford two!

If you haven't seen an Aladdin kerosene lamp then you need to.

They are a remarkable piece of technology (even though they've

been around a long time).

If you grew up going on campouts where there was always a kid

that had a gas lantern (remember pumping up the tank pressure?)

then the Aladdin kerosene lamp will be a pleasant surprise .....

no pumping up the tank, with kerosene you'll be less concerned

about the thing blowing up in your face (pressurized gas makes

me nervous), and it's quiet .... I mean really quiet.

The 'heart' of the Aladdin kerosene lamp is its mantle. It's

operation is similar to the gas lantern but the Aladdin runs

on kerosene and it isn't pressurized.

The kerosene lamp that you may have had as a child generated

light by the carbon in the kerosene being hot enough to put

out some visible light (though not much). The Aladdin kerosene

lamp generates its light by the kerosene flame heating the

mantle to incandescence; it is a very much more efficient

process as compared to just a kerosene flame.

In several places in their literature Aladdin says that their

lamps put out the light of a 60 Watt light bulb. I don't know

if it's 60 Watts but if not it's close; if you turn up the

wick (to increase the flame) the mantle will be glowing

white.

The 'down-side' is that you're dealing with a very hot object;

make sure that there are no children who can get near the

lamp. Also it will consume oxygen from a room (though I don't

think too fast as he lamp is very efficient). Interestingly

there is very little smell once the lamp is up to operating

temperature ... the white hot mantle is apparently very good

at making sure that the kerosene vapor is consumed in the

combustion process.

So if you've got an Aladdin lamp that works why would you want

another mantle ? Easy .... if your present mantle breaks and

you don't have a spare your lamp is unusable and the mantle

is very 'brittle'.

A new mantle has some kind of 'blue stuff' that it looks to

have been dipped in but the first time you light it up the

heat from the kerosene flame burns the coating away and

leaves the mantle a whitish color.

Once a mantle has been used (it's that whitish color) it is

very brittle; don't try to remove the mantle from where it's

locked-down into the base of the chimney and when you lift

off the chimney to light the lamp try not to jar it as you

might shatter the mantle.

So if you plan to use an Aladdin kerosene lamp you'll

want at least one spare (new) mantle for back-up (get

a spare chimney too and then you're in pretty good shape).

The locking tabs were bent over to far, I had to bend them back out so that it would engage the slots. The mantle fabric did not stay attached to the base, it separated by 1/8 to 1/4 inch most of the way around. I think this condition is what caused the mantle to only illuminate on the top half. The mantle is made of single thread instead of the double thread of the previous version. The density of the mantle is much thinner causing the light output to be nearly half of the last one.

Two years in the making and we get a mantle that costs twice as much, puts out half the light, and can't hold its shape before its even installed.

Yes, they're made better than the execrable Malta mantles. But if you were expecting the sunlike radiance of the old Aladdin thorium mantles of the pre-EPA-panic new-old-stock, you're going to be disappointed. These are now barely 40cp at best, whereas the old ones would pour out up to 100cp.

I have been using Alladin lamps since the mid 70's, I believe Alladin has changed the material they are making there mantles out of and unfortunately it is not for the best. My mantles used to last a whole season or more but now I see holes forming in as little as a week. I have e-mailed Alladin about this issue but have received no reply's. I currently have 8 of their lamps but have decided to slowly convert to oil lamps. Good oil lamps are more expensive than Alladin lamps but the mantle issue has been going on for over a year with no improvement in sight as far as I can see. It is ashame, because I really do like the light that Alladin lamps put out.

Some of us old-school folks remember the "Itty-Bitty Book Lite" from years ago. It was pretty good, nice and bright for an incandescent lamp, but a little bulky. This lite is much brighter, maybe a little less sturdy feeling, but folds up to an incredibly small package.

It does work with a reader with some juggling. The base is a little thick for easy use. It's well worth having simply as a backup if nothing else in power failure. For the price, I recommend it.

The LED light is super bright, but the plastic seems a little flimsy. It is also a little bulky and bottom heavy, but for sturdy/thick books, it holds up pretty well. The Lift Lamp Shade button doesn't work, but it's just a minor problem. Since the recipient loves to read at night, I think she'll enjoy it.

This lamp was described as" "13''L x 16''H x 13''W. The Primary colors are shade of orange with red and white". It is in fact 18" in diameter, 21" tall, and the primary colors are shades GREENS and BLUES with accents of violet, peach and white,and reddish-orange and blue cabochons; MUCH prettier than described! It does look just like the stock photo, but more vibrant, and the greens come through a little more (see photos that I uploaded). The lamp would have looked too large on my end table were it not for the fact that the squat proportions (diameter being almost the same as the height) are very attractive.

The base is NOT made of zinc, but rather a resin-like material, and there is a defect along the top of the base (as an artist, I notice these things). The top surface of the base looks as if the mold was a little warped-barely noticable, and does not detract from the lamp. The inner parts are real metal though. I really like the night light feature-you can illuminate the bottom by itself.

I am not sure if the glass(and it is real glass,upon close inspection, it has all sorts of little bubbles and irregularities in it) is really soldered with lead as the description claims, as it is MUCH lighter than a regular Tiffany lampshade. It does appear to be foiled ith real copper, as a small thread of copper was visible in one of the joins in strong sunlight. But no matter, even if this this a fake,(I mean not real lead,but rather resin and high quality plastic) it is just gorgeous, is a real eye-catcher in my living room and for sure, the price was right! I added two spiral flourescent 60 watt (actually 15 watt) CFC bulbs on top, to avoid overheating and possibly damaging the lamp. If you are looking for authenticity and for what the description claims, I would question this...a LOT. But if you want a gorgeous and beautifully done accent piece for the right price, than I would definitely recommend this lamp. Overall, I am very happy with it. 4 out of 5 because the descripton is inaccurate. But I'll still give it 5 out of 5 for beauty and value.

This is a very nice lamp for the cost. My first shipment arrived with one of the three legs cracked off. Amazon was its usual amazing self in replacing it promptly and having UPS pick up the damaged item for return. Just be realistic when ordering these Stained Glass type lamps for under $200 that you are getting an inexpensively made product. That is not to say it doesn't look good; it does; very good for the money, but it is not a high quality product.

The lamp I received looks very very close to the picture here on the web site.

With any item of art like this I feel one is better off shopping in-person; but these days when cost is a huge consideration for most this method and item can be trusted to deliver so long as your expectations are reasonable.
