Very nice and sturdy. Standard bulbs get quite hot, but found CFL's that work and are much cooler.

NOTE: the tightening mechanisms to adjust the height/angle can be stripped VERY easily so be careful not to overtighten. This happened to us, called house of troy and they sent out a replacment part right away. Good customer service!

In this era when most household items are cheap junk, this is a perfectly adequate desk lamp. You can turn it on, you can turn it off... Which is more than you can say for most of models that have a thin little spindle to twist as an on-off switch that invariably becomes frozen after some time. This one has a big round rotary switch on top, 2.5 inches in diameter, you don't snap any of your valuable tendons trying to operate it. It's sturdy, it looks nice, it's what you'd expect in something as simple as a desk lamp used to be!

This lamp is going to be returned. The head won't stay in position, and the neck has a cheap feel to it. My 13-year-old son doesn't like it.

I do like the fact that it uses a standard bulb, but I think this type of purchase is better suited to seeing it in person before deciding.

Not a whole lot to say about a desk lamp. It's a bit larger than I expected. It's almost all metal. Seems well made.

The metal shade radiates a good deal of heat with a 60 watt bulb in it. I'm going to try a lower wattage bulb.

Product exceeded my expectations. Quality build all-in-all, all metal housing, and not just metal but good quality metal (i.e. thick for a lamp of this price). Easily adjustable from 0 degree to 180 degrees. I put CFL Daylights and can be used for a picture/display light, pointed at ceiling for better light spread/dispersement or on a bookshelf pointed down as a desk lamp.

Will buy more, will recommend to friends.

I bought this spotlight to shine on a company logo on a wall in front of large window at night. That way, I can get some branding when people pass by without running up the electrical bill. I also bought a CFL flood light bulb (GE Lighting Energy Smart CFL 20708 16-Watt, 750-Lumen R30 Floodlight Bulb with Medium Base, 1-Pack) so that the unit won't get hot and be a fire risk. So far, it's worked exactly as planned. It's thin and light without being flimsy. My only complaints would be that there's no easy way to tighten the screws that determine the angle of the light, and the whole thing would be sturdier if it was a little heavier. Other than that, it's a good little spotlight for a good price.

The packaging image, the Amazon page description, and even the Satco website, all say as of today (November 2012) that this range of fixtures (in various colors) can handle 75 watts max. I just received this today, however, and the packaging has been changed to say 60 watts max. (Obviously they must have been having some issues so reduced it.)

Unfortunately, based on this information I had already ordered the grow bulb to go with it. Keep this in mind if considering this fixture. Other than that it's pretty much as you would expect in build quality. No surprises to report there.

This lamp was everything I had hoped for. Perfect size, just the right ambience, and just like a fairy tale in the corner of your room. (Mine is in my bedroom). The quality of the piece simply floats around it. The hand blown glass has little different prisms of light in it, and the sculpture itself is well done and so whimsical! When you pick it up the weight and craftsmanship speak volumes about the high quality of the piece. I thought it might be too big at nine inches tall, but I had forgotten about the little legs it stands on. It really is just perfect for a day or night accent lamp, to finish out your room, and give it an added touch of warmth and a glowing

The idea of this night light is great. It lightly glows orange, and can also be taken off it's base, making it portable and glowing a bright LED light. The LED light is very bright, which makes for easy maneuvering around the house at night. However, when the penguin is on it's base with the orange light, it doesn't seem to provide enough light to my kids' room at night. It's a good idea, but just not bright enough when on its base.

My daughter loves it and I like the amber colour, it doesn't disturb her sleep like some of the brighter ones do. Don't let your child carry it around as a flash light, my daughter dropped it once and only the amber night light works now!

My kids love these night lights and have used them for years, literally. I have bought probably 20 of them over the years from different places and was happy to find them on Amazon finally (it was getting difficult to find them locally, and the kids really do love them). They charge them during the day, then take them off the stands at night and can sleep with them in their beds, like a friendly little light-up pet. You should know that no matter how many of these we've had none of them has ever lasted 8 hours like they claimusually about 3-4but that's long enough for the kids to get to sleep comfortably.

HOWEVERbe aware that you should open the package straight away and test it out as soon as you receive this product. I have never had this problem before, but 2 of the nightlights I bought from Amazon simply don't light up (and as I said, I have bought them for over 5 years now from different sources). I usually buy a few, put them in a drawer, and wait until the natural life span of the light just wears outwhich honestly has been anywhere from a few months to over a year. It really seems to vary with the individual lights. But NEVER have I had one not work at all; not until I purchased from Amazon, and since I didn't test them out immediately, my "return window" has expired and I'm out $20. I feel like I've been burned on this one!

This lamp is by far the best lamp I've ever owned. Dimming it is very simple, and its lighting memory is very useful. Light distribution is uniform, and its intensity is really amazing for a LED lamp. I am so satisfied with the performance of this lamp, reason why I decided to buy four more of this lamp, one for my wife's desk, and one for each of my three daughters computer desks. I really recommend this lamp for anyone looking for a nice looking, high performance, resources saving, LED lamp.

I received the order fairly quickly. The packaging was bad because it came in a plastic bag. The LED light box was slightly damaged, but the lights were ok.

The housing was comprised of a plastic chrome. The wires are very thin, similar to a "wire tie" for your bread. The lights lit up approximately 2 feet in distance. I'm not even sure if you will be able to see them during the day. The mounting screws that came with the lights are worthless. I used higher quality self tapping screws.

UPDATE: I installed the lights in my front bumper approximately 4" above my winch. They are a clear white and illuminate my winch perfectly. I recommend this product for projects and such. These LED lights are a great buy for the price.

UPDATE: One of the lights now flickers after 1 1/2 years later. The other one still works fine. They are waterproof. I went offroading in deep water and they still work.

This lamp is a bit expensive for the category that it is in. However, it is quite beautiful and much more elegant than the accompanying photo wood indicate. While I can't speak for the other finishes, the cherry rosewood choice is very striking. This is more mood lighting than practical lighting for a room, but if you are trying to create an elegant Asian feel, you can't go wrong here. For the quality level, it's a bit pricey, but aesthetically I am very satisfied.

Its a pretty enough piece at a distance, however soon as i took it out of the box it was obvious how poorly it was constructed and of what cheap materials. Its very cheap looking within 5ft or so. i got 2 of them as gifts if i cant return them then i will simply throw them away.

First of all it looks awesome in our kitchen.

The bulbs are sort of special and one of them went out after a few months. I looked at it and one of the prongs was burned out. After cleaning the contacts, plugged it back in and it has been working ever since.

I would recommend it for a stylish look, however it can be a bit expensive for what it is, and the craftsmanship could be better.

I was very happy and surprised by how quickly the lamp arrived to my home,well within the scheduled shipping time. The box it came in was in decent shape but the inside was very well packaged which came as a great relieve considering how fragile the lamp shade was.The lamp is of good quality and I was pleased with the warm glow that the mica shade puts out however,the first time I used ( 2 ) 60watt clear bulbs but I found that( 2 ) 40watt amber bulbs really set the lamp off-either way,I give this lamp and it's seller very high marks!!!

Unfortunately when I purchased this shade, I had never heard of a clip-on attachment. This attachment limits the type of bulb you can use with the shade. I am energy-conscious and like to use CFL bulbs but I could not find one that this shade can clip on to. Also note that a 25 watt bulb is recommended and you have to use the ones with the tiny screw-in base. I picked up a 7-inch lamp shade so the shade would be proportionate and it looks really good on a shelf in my nursery.

I got 2 of these lamp shades for green frosted vintage lamps I picked up. Spent a little more than I usually do but Laura Ashley items have never let me down in the past.
