I have had and used many lighted magnified lamps. This "Professional Fluorescent Magnifier Lamp is every bit what the name sayes and then some! When I opened the package I was impressed with the construction and style. The width of the lamp creates a nice wide umbrella of light after you kickstart the two fluorscent bulbs on both sides of the light. The lights are individually switched to save energy if all the light is not needed , not me I love to flood the area with light as I troubleshoot and repair electronic PC boards both thru the board and surface mount technology components. I like the lamp magnifier cover to keep finger prints and dust off the lens when not being used. What I really like the most is when I need to get a closer look, BOY can I get a closer look! The 7.5" x 6.25" lens is beautiful, crystal clear without distortion of anykind if you stay within the focal length of the lens. This can be a little tricky if you aren't used to a 5 diopter lens. Once you get the hang of it you will be very happy that you purchased this size and power of lamp. I read a review that addressed the distortion of the lens and the lack of light. I found none of this. When you first turn on any fluorescent light even instant start lamps it takes a little while for the lamps to warm up to their most efficient operating temp. When they reach their operating temp they are at their full lumen output. This varies at different ambient temps.

Ex: cold work shop = longer time for full brightness. Warm work shop = shorter time for full brightness. This lamp has plenty of light when it reaches temp. Well this is all this tech has to say at the moment, got to get back to work under my magnifier!!!!!

I'll try not to repeat information on the website or covered by other reviewers. This lamp is substantial and well-constructed. The clamp will hold the base in place without twisting or sliding but you will need to crank down on it pretty tightly. The arms have enclosed springs and hold the magnifier in the position of choice without any appreciable drift. Two fluorescent tubes are provided with separate switches. Even after prolonged use, they do not radiate more than slight warmth to the face of the user or to the work. They provide ample, even illumination even for work on dark materials. The lens is large and free of annoying "cheap glass green" color. Another reviewer complained about distortion but this is unavoidable in a large lens of this type and modest cost. Center your work in the lens and distortion will not be a significant problem.

Lamps of this type are available with magnification factors from 2 to 8 diopters. The higher the magnification, the shorter the working distance. You may wish to go to an art or drafting supply store and look through magnifiers of different strengths before making your selection.

I have used similar magnifiers that cost much more but I find no functional difference between them and this much less expensive one.

Very pleased with the size and magnification of the lense as well as the lighting. Problem: the unit will not hold position at all. I literally have to place something under the head to hold it in position.

For the size of the light, size of the lens and overall weight, I am very disappointed with this light. There is a tremendous amount of distortion, so why make a lens this large? I would return it but I purchased it from JL Industrial and they don't allow returns unless it is defective, stupid me for not reading their return policy. There have to be better options out there.

This is a nice lamp and it magnifies perfect. The only dislike about this is that if you have a craft table that tilts up the light will not hold its position it will swing down or you will have to hold it in place by hand.

I was somewhat disappointed to open this lamp and realize just how small it is. Although I saw the dimensions on the website, I was somehow under the impression that the height was just for the base of the lamp and that the lampshade was measured separately. In actuality, the height listed is for the entire lamp, from base to top of lampshade, meaning that the whole lamp is only about 16 inches tall. Anyway, it is a cute little lamp but since it's so small, I don't think it's really worth the +shipping and I would not buy it again. In fact, I would return it if it weren't so much trouble to return.

Well after having read other reviews on here regarding the same coffee lamp I decided to try it out for myself. The lamp does its job. Its a bit small, but after reading the reviews and reviewing the pictures I knew this going into it. Its also not very sturdy. It doesn't have a wide base, so if i shake my coffee table slightly, the lamp will fall over. Right now amazon is selling it for 37$, but i truly believe this lamp should be about 10$ less. Oh, and it comes with a bulb.

I like the color and shape of this lamp, but contrary to the product description the lamp is about 15 inches not 26 inches tall. The 26 inches takes into account with the 11 inch lamp shade. Misleading discription. Pretty small, would be cute in a small space, but I was looking for a 26 inch lamp.

The first lamp we ordered stopped working after only being used for 2 hours, we returned to Amazon easily and our 2nd lamp works great! The lamp is smaller than we would like but the color of the orange is a really solid and the lampshade itself isn't plain white, it's more of a linen look which makes it look a little bit more expensive than it actually is

This lamp was everything I had hoped for. Perfect size, just the right ambience, and just like a fairy tale in the corner of your room. (Mine is in my bedroom). This lamp has become my lighting nightmare. It started with me buying this lamp from a different vendor than Amazon last summer. That vendor had a better price but never shipped. I had to stop my credit card and dispute and all that fun. I turned to Amazon as it was listed as in stock and I TRUST Amazon and sure enough, thanks to Prime, I had my lamp 2 days later. It cost more but I had it.

Next I started to build it. Unboxing it is a symphony of cardboard, Styrofoam and strapping tape. It is a holy mess to get all the parts out of the packaging. The Styrofoam breaks apart into tiny pieces and goes everywhere. That done I start to build it. I don't get very far when I discover one of the hollow screws that braces the shafts together is 1/2 inch too long!!! It's a custom part and not findable in local hardware stores. I really wanted to keep the lamp so instead of the nightmare of repackaging it and shipping it back to Amazon, I called Adesso in NYC to help. I got Maryann in the customer service department and started our long journey together. I described what my problem was and she sent out the part she thought I needed. It was not the right part. We further discussed it and she contacted her builder in China and we waited while they sent the part. That took a few weeks. When she got it she called me. By her description of what they actually sent her I knew it was wrong. We had conversed numerous times while waiting for the part and she was very frustrated with the supplier. She then ordered a new whole lamp sent to me. Wow! That should be it! They couldn't make the same mistake on two separate lamps. This was in early mid November and the lamp was due in the second week of December. It actually arrived on the 19th just before a trip I had planned for the holidays. I verified the bad part was now correct and set it aside for after the trip.

Upon returning home I built the first lamp using the good part from the second lamp. In doing so I discovered the top glass from the first lamp was chipped and used the good glass from #2. Upon completion of the assembly I raised the lamp and immediately noticed it leaned. About 5 degrees to the left. OH NO!!! My heart sank. I rechecked all my joints and they were tight and good. I disassembled and built lamp #2 just using it's parts. I raised it and it leaned the other way!! Also, the on/off switch was mounted in the device upside down and the housing for the two switches RATTLES! Oh my God!

I've talked to Maryann again and told her. I'm going to send her pictures and probably post them here to when I take them after the new year. I don't know if there's anything else she can do, it's a bad design. I have a similar Adesso lamp in my bed room that I got from The Home Depot and it's fine. It's why I bought this one. Well this one is just plain awful.

This lamp looks awesome. It also provides quite a bit of light, as it should.

Qality can be a little better but all the lamps I had were no better in terms of quality.

Made in China...

So, be carefull when assembling it. In order to get it stable and straight it needs to be assembled properly

Once assembled none of the quality issues are visible or can be felt.

The table is a nice touch.

I bought this lamp because it had all the features I was looking for...HOWEVER...the quality is very flimsy and poorly constructed. For $166 I expected something more sturdy, but it is what it is.

I have this in my nursery next to the glider. I love the dimmer lighting, the reading light, and the shelf. Although I am not too sure the shelf can handle much more than a glass of water. I have it standing on carpet and decided to use a wire wall mounting bracket to make sure the lamp does not tip over. If it was placed on a hard surface, maybe the leaning/swaying wouldn't be as bad.

Next time I will read the reviews...as I am now noting that others have experienced the poor quality.

Good light with 2 intensity levels. The 9 LED's are nicely distributed to provide excellent illumination across good-sized music charts. I've been having some eye fatigue at some rehearsals; this is an ideal solution, as well as at performance gig. Battery life exceeds expectations.

A 100W equivalent 1520 lumen Xledia diamond cut bulb was too bright as a downlight to replace the 100W equivalent ~1500 lumen CFL, and this 810 lumen bulb gave comparable light despite the lower lumen rating. I guess since such a large percentage of the Xledia diamond cut bulb light heads straight out from the bulb, one can't replace lumen for lumen where the old bulb loses much of the light inside the can. It is short enough that it does not protrude from the can. So far, so good.

The Dora lamp was my 3 year old granddaughter's only request for Christmas. I was so thankful to find it for her on Amazon. We were late in ordering but the guaranteed time was before Christmas. It didn't make it by Christmas even though my email notice said it had shipped. It came USPS the day after Christmas. Amazon was wonderful and credited my shipping charges since it didn't come as stated. I'm glad it wasn't a gift from Santa! I don't know that I'd trust the guaranteed shipping time again.

On Christmas day, she told her mom she had to go to a store for one more gift--a Dora lamp. We told her it would come tomorrow and she was very excited to open it up when it came! She loves it. It was exactly as stated in the add and she was very excited about it!! It is on every night in her room as her night light.

I researched hundreds of lamps in my budget before selecting this "used like new," and it did not disappoint. Came quickly, was well protected and in excellent condition. The promise of "like new " was upheld. I love the color and glaze and the base. I love the shade also, but I misjudged how it would work; unfortunately it looks too large in the location so I've put it in the attic and am using a different shade. Wish it were 3-way. Maybe I'll add a dimmer? All in all I'm very pleased.

Received the lamp well within the time frame specified and discovered it was packed extremely well. The lamp is beautiful and pretty much exactly as the picture. I would not call the finish a nickel, though. It is more like an pale antique gold with silver nickel finial and accents. It really makes a statement.

These are truly pretty lamps and I like them. Here is the problem. The minute I got them and put them in place it was clear the the size of the lamp overwhelmed the application. I measured for height, so height was right--but it's hard to anticipate bulk--and that was the problem. I immediately contacted the seller and had to "ask" to return them. I received an automated response saying that once they were "installed" they were not returnable. I assumed that "installation" would refer to wall and ceiling fixtures, but since these are table lamps--so my mind the "installation" proviso didn't apply. I expected to get a follow up response. I am still waiting...waiting...waiting. At this point I suspect the seller considers "installation" the removing of the lamp from it's packing, and assembling it.

The packing was secure and the lamps arrived in perfect shape. There is a problem with this though--the styrofoam used is the kind that crumbles and fractures easily--so even if the company had given me "permission" to return them repacking them would have been difficult. I would have had to spend time taping together the styrofoam, to secure the lamp well. And, I have to vacuum because of all the little bits and pieces, whether I return them or not.

Bottom line. These are pretty lamps,very good quality lamps, and I like them--I'll find a way to make them work somewhere. But they don't work in the intended place with the intended look. I'm happy enough to keep them--but I do have a problem with a company that requires that they give me "permission" for a return. So, lamps good, company weirdly "1984".
