My old lamp died, finally thank heaven, it was always slipping. But this new one is great. The neck bends any level you want and there are no screws or knobs to tighten it and slip later. Just bend and go. The base is larger than I thought, about 8 x 9 oval, and very nice on the desk. Well balanced and sturdy. Has a nice big button right on top of the base, easy to find in the dim or dark. I researched a new desk lamp and am glad I settle on this one.

A 100W equivalent 1520 lumen Xledia diamond cut bulb was too bright as a downlight to replace the 100W equivalent ~1500 lumen CFL, and this 810 lumen bulb gave comparable light despite the lower lumen rating. I guess since such a large percentage of the Xledia diamond cut bulb light heads straight out from the bulb, one can't replace lumen for lumen where the old bulb loses much of the light inside the can. It is short enough that it does not protrude from the can. So far, so good.

This lamp was recommended to us by our interior designer. We found it about 15% cheaper than her price on Amazon.com and went for it! We're so happy with our purchase the base is a smoked glass, and the shade is a light grey/silver tone. It is different than any lamp I've ever laid eyes on and everyone who enters our living room comments on it. We're actually thinking of buying a second to put behind our sofa. Review of SE FL347 Super Bright 14 LED FlexNeck Table and Reading Lamp

I purchased two of these lamps directly from American Science and Surplus several years ago, and they are both still working. I was surprised by the quality for such an inexpensive lamp.

The lamp housing and base are fairly lightweight plastic. The base is in two pieces held together by two small screws. There is a battery door in the center of the bottom of the base that allows access to install 3 AAA size batteries.

The lamp head is sealed and permanently attached to the gooseneck. There are 14 LEDs giving off a reasonable amount of bluish-white light. They are not extremely bright, but they give enough light to read comfortably in the dark with this as the only light source.

There is a black plastic push-to-make, push-to-break (sorry for the jargon push it once to turn it on, again to turn it off) switch on the base near where the gooseneck attaches. They both still work and show no signs of being ready to fail.

The gooseneck itself is so high quality for this price that it is almost shocking. It allows a tremendous amount of movement of the lamp head and seems like it will last a long time.

The only drawback to these lamps is that they weigh so little. I have made plans to open the base, glue in weights and glue some non-skid rubber feet on them to make them a bit more stable. I have also considered getting more, adding a DC electric feed and modifying the base to make them console lights for a video studio.

These are great little lights. I have used them during power blackouts and on walks at night. They fit nicely in a variety of pockets and the head can be positioned to keep your hands free. One could also use them for any number of costume/device designs.

I have yet to use up a single set of batteries, although I don't use them terribly often. One could use lithium AAAs to get a very long shelf life and extra burn time.

American Science is a great company to do business with and they mail simple newsprint catalogs with some very funny catalog copy (one of their trademarks). I heartily recommend them and these lamps.

Inexpensive and effective. The base is a little light, so depending on the position of the light, it may tip over. I opened up the base and put some weights (steel washers, and that made it more stable. For the price, even with having to weight the base, this little light is great. It puts a semi-focused beam of light on my work area. I use it late at night when I'm working on my computer to light the keyboard.

Vendor is good, shipping time was reasonable, but there was NO communication past the order confirmation as to shipping date or expected arrival. But considering the price and the desk lamp arrived in a reasonable time, and the light was as described, the buying experience was OK.

This is a great little light. I use it for reading and a night light. I also use it to find things in drawers when my husband is sleeping. Its bright for my needs but, doesn't disturb him. Our power has gone out a couple of times and I've used it for getting around the house and/or reading on the sofa. My husband wished he had one so, I bought him one for Christmas. I bought one for my daughter too, for the baby's room.

While I did like this little bright lamp as long as it worked, unfortunately it is designed to fail. After about 2 months of nearly daily use some LEDs wouldn't light, later others started to flicker, and later with many LEDs off the remaining would shine very bright. I've opened it up and it seems the 14 LEDs are all connected in parallel, and this bunch is then connected to the battery through a single 1 Ohm current limiting resistor. Ask anyone with any knowledge of electronics to hear that this is definitely not the way to hook up a bunch of LEDs!

I guess if you don't use it much it might have its place, but it has a high chance of breaking after about 200 hours of on-time.

I've had this lamp and it's floor lamp version for several years now and I thought I should offer a review since I'm experienced with them. My parents bought these for me as a birthday present before I moved out to college. That was in 2006 and I still have these lamps. The metal finish doesn't show scratches, and it doesn't scratch easily. The original bulbs are still going and I run them often. The transformer in the lamps originally made a slight humming noise but I no longer notice it. They flicker to turn on but that isn't anything to fuss over. Reading on the computer or in a textbook with these lamps is like reading them out in natural, perfectly bright, sunlight.

I lived in Florida my whole life and then moved to New York where dismal gray occurs much more often. The lamps definitely helped me get over the sun setting hours earlier and the gray days. Having them on definitely made me feel like there was still sunlight outside coming into my room, even late at night.

The lamps get as warm as any other lamp in my experience, and can be quite bright when looking at the bulb. However, the lamps don't put out as much light as regular lamps. I actually use the desk lamp on my desk, and the floor lamp right next to my desk to cancel out the shadows. I have a central ceiling light in my room and use that in conjunction with these to create a brightly lit room. But these lamps weren't made to be really bright, they were made to imitate sunlight coming through a window, and that they do perfectly.

I recommend one change for customers to make to this lamp: assemble the top lamp part backwards from what the picture shows. The difference won't be too apparent, except the felt pad to keep the lamp pieces from scratching won't be in the right position. If you do this, the lamp can angle upward much more than the other way, and spread out the light across a greater area. I really liked this change; if you dislike the dark look that lamps create by lighting only certain areas, you will enjoy it too.

Despite a few set backs (brightness and needing to make a small modification), I still give these lamps 5 stars. They're five years old and look brand new, they are still stylish, they still get compliments for their looks and the light they output. Best of all, they actually do what they claim to do as OttLites: produce natural-looking sunlight. And they are definitely worth this reduced price.

I like the overall design of these desk lamps and I bought two of them for my office last year.

Both lamps quit working about 6 months into duty. Thought it was just the bulbs having burnt out, so I replaced both bulbs with Ottlight replacements (at over $10 each). Turned out the ballast/electronics is not user serviceable. So I now have two paperweights. Very disappointed in Ott quality control on this product and I probably will not buy Ott lamps again.

Wanted a small LED lantern to light up a room enough to not step on anything. This works just fine, its reasonably bright and lightweight. Extra star since I drop/knock it off the table enough and it holds up.

Its uncomplicated, and good enough for most things. Have to use the spotlight for any detail work but would be ideal for times when you need "just a little light" to see whats around.

Downside, while it provides enough light to see where you're going, it by no means lights up the room.

SMH, I don't wholeheartedly like this product. First, let me admit, I like that the lamp activates by touching (one touch night light, 2 touches energy light, 3 touches bright light) and that it has a CUTE size (for a babys room).

On the contrary, I don't like the size (because the body of the lamp w/ shade is diminutive for my bedroom/livingroom and the size of the shade is too small to find a replacement for at a store,) the style (doesn't have much pizzazz/ lacks expensive appeal) and color is boring (the color of this lamp online is bright red, but, in real life the color is a dull burgundy.

In fact, the lamp is so small, it seems as though it was made for a doll house, what a pity! More importantly, I sincerely believe that the price for this lamp is over the top and should only be priced at $10-$15. In closing, I think that this lamp should be titled, "OK Table Touch Lamp for an Infant's Room!"

The lamp works fine; 3 levels of light. The shade is cheap, thin cardboard and was broken on arrival. The glue used to attach the shade to the shade holder did not hold at all and the packaging situated the shade to break. So, either plan to use a different shade, or go without one.

Pros:

-Attractive aesthetic. The fan is absolutely beautiful, not to mention a conversation starter.

-**IT WON'T BLOCK YOUR VIEW.** With no cage to surround fan blades, objects/ light behind the Dyson remain unobstructed.

-Extremely easy to clean. This makes it great for allergies.

-Does not attract dust as easily as other fans, so there is less dust to clean.

-Shape allows easy storage, and is easily packed up for a move.

-Easy to carry some fans have awkward shapes and weight distribution, this fan does not. I carry it back and forth between rooms all the time and it is a piece of cake.

Cons:

This fan really works -good air, quiet, easy to clean and it doesn't block the view. For this price, though, it should also cook you a three-minute egg and make your bed. It doesn't.

My wife wanted this Dyson fan because she liked the way it looked and wanted a fan that would not accumulate dust and blow it into our faces, as our previous $40 hardware store fan did. It does look good, but the fact is that it does not actually do very much cooling; it does not blow a heck of a lot of cool air our way, even at its highest setting. Our hardware store fan had "high," "medium," and "low" settings; I would generously estimate that the Dyson fan, at best, puts out 70% of the air of our previous fan's "low" setting. That just isn't good enough unless you also have the air conditioner running full blast, which defeats a good deal of the purpose of getting a fan in the first place. And for six times the cost of our hardware store fan... I wince. I truly wish I could return this product.

It looks like a gimmicky gadget but this thing Really Works well! It's an amazing piece of engineering I haven't studied it but it seems incredible the way it moves air so well with No Fan Blades. And This last bit is the reason why my wife (who normally likes to pinch the pennies a little more) was willing to spend more for this one over getting another Vornado. I love Vornado's but they scare my wife with having a toddler around (and another baby on the way). It's also easy to move around, and will be easy to clean.

I have only three beef's with it which cause me to take it down a notch from 5 stars despite it's amazing engineering:

1) It's a little lower power than you'd want to cool any size room really. You really need to train it on yourself (not oscillating back and forth in an attempt to cool the whole room). UNLESS you are using it in conjunction with air conditioning. That might work fine to make a room a bit cooler and to reduce energy costs)

2) It Is a little noisier than I would like. But Really not bad. Not louder than a Vornado that's for sure.

3) And then Price. This is a lot to pay for a plastic fan (or any fan I think, especially for this Size. It's only 12" diameter). But on this one too, well. It's a Dyson. You get what you pay for: Quality engineering (I can't tout the Dyson Vacuum we got Enough. It's brilliant design too. And for those who'd like to know: it's the Dyson DC47 Animal Canister Vacuum. $499 for a vacuum, Ouch! But it Rocks. It's a Dyson)

VERDICT 4 Stars => If you're in the market for a SAFE-with-small-kids-around-the-house midsize fan that does a nice job of keeping a person cool (e.g. you've got it trained on you while you lounge on the couch or the bed) it does the job and is worth the price.

High quality outdoor lanterns --Ordered several other brands in the past and they were junk. Have these outside at our houses in IL and AZ and they have held up well even in high winds and storms. Put in battery operated luminary outdoor (resin candles ) and together they look great on outdoor tables etc. Terrific in outdoor kitchen etc for mood lighting --Wish you could also buy them also individually not only in pairs. Bought these to replace some purchased at Crate & Barrel a few years ago. These were a little less expensive but are much higher quality. Solid, sturdy, very well made. They came in excellent packaging too. Even has a hand written Thank You card. Amazon prices noticeably lower than buying direct from H Potter site. Highly recommend!!

Arrived with the green part of the RGB LEDs stuck at the maximum brightness... Can't even turn them off and all the colors are messed up by too much green, not to mention, you can't get pure white at all.

It wouldn't have been a major problem, except with this seller I don't have an option to exchange (what is probably just a broken $4.99 dimmer/controller) and have to ship it all back, at _my_ expense. Guess what, I'll be ordering a replacement from a different vendor -luckily there is at least three other sellers of these lights at amazon alone, not to mention the direct from china sites.

One star for customer care, or lack thereof, and as a matter of principle. If you are selling $10 items for $40, you ought to take care of defective products.

I checked the whole kit before installation everything worked nice. So I installed it, but I really should have checked it before installation more thoroughly. Now I have several hoes in my wall (to mount power supply and the controller), which prevents me from just returning it back. Why do I want to return it if it worked nice?

IT INTERCEPTS SIGNALS FROM LG TV REMOTE CONTROL! For example, "up" button on TV remote switches LED strip on and off, "Power" button turns led strip purple, etc. However, TV itself is not affected by signals from LED strip remote. I e-mailed Led Wholesalers with my problem thrice, but still no response. So I am doomed to operate TV while LED strip flashes, then take LED remote and turn it off.
