I purchased this from Amazon, and it came just as expected. The bulb on this device is very dim, so if you buy this product I would reccommend buying a brighter bulb. If placing this in a room, the room must be completely dark to enjoy. The ball also moved slower than expected, but it did have the option to rotate in opposite directions. This should only be bought for a small room, but if you are looking for anything decent I would recomend purchasing anouther product.

After reading many reviews of this and other disco balls, I finally decided on this one. I was hesitant but it is a huge hit! We turned it on and it was nice and bright even in the daylight. It will for sure make for some good night time dancing fun. The cord is a decent size and the lights go a decent distance. Haven't had any rotating problems and it's not noisy one bit. Pure fun, no complaints!

It's cheap. It's plastic. It really quite lame. Therefore the kids absolutely love it! Works best in a smaller, darker room.

I have been looking for a disco ball for my daughter for several weeks. I almost didn't purchase this one because of the reviews stating that the light was very dim and hard to see. The light is actually brighter than I expected. When looking at the light directly it is very bright and adorable. I could even see the light reflecting on the wall. It is a disco light, so obviously the darker the room the better. Imagine if the lights were turned on at a real disco. I am very pleased with this purchase I cannot wait to give it to my 10 year old daughter for Christmas.

so sorry to have purchased this lamp. Replacement bulbs are poorly specified and NO HELP FROM Zuo Modern customer service to clarify or to get a supply of bulbs. We have yet to be able to even turn this lamp on because of such misguidance with basic bulbs. I will never purchase another ZuoModern product again!

Now that the incandescent bulbs are becoming obsolete, it's time to move on. The fluorescent ones take what seems to be forever to turn on in the cold garage. These are a little less efficient, but instant on and off. Also, energy efficient.

The entry for this item is deceptive. The package quantity indicates that an order contains 5 bulbs but if fact, you are only receiving 1 bulb. The bulbs are good but the price is barely discounted off the MSP, not a 73% reduction of price as indicated in the product listing.

The product arrived very quickly and very well packaged. All construction, look and feel is pretty good and solid; easy to assemble and insert the light bulb, etc. The only reason why I do not give it the fifth star is because it is more of a decorative lamp than a real lamp. Maybe the bulb can be replaced with something stronger. Maybe that is what an "accent lamp" is supposed to be? Other than that, very happy with the product.

The base of the lamp is well-done and of good quality. However, the lampshade, harp, and finial are either of the cheapest materials or poor workmanship. The switch is not of good quality. Now to the fairness issue: this is a typical import lamp. (I've looked at a lot of lamps over the past year.) When compared to lamps made more than ten years ago, there is a world of difference in the product. It is not a bad lamp by today's standards. I'm just having trouble coming to terms with the fact that this is an example of how little we can expect to get for quite a bit of money spent.

I love that this has a good long arm on it. I do however wish that there would have been some instructions in with the item. No, it's not hard to figure out how to set up, but you always want instructions in case there is a different/better way to set something up. I do wish it would have also came with a light bulb. These days people only have the long life bulbs around the house. This lamp takes a regular 60w bulb. We luckily had one that wasn't being used.

It is a nice and sturdy lamp, but mind you really will need to tighten the bolts down to get it to not sag. Otherwise this lamp is great for being able to see tiny items!

This lamp is as awesome as it gets! I looked all over the web for a video of this lamp showing its animation and there is none to be found, until now...Ive made a video so that you can actually SEE what it does. When you push the button, the 1989 Batman theme song plays, a light of the Batman logo in the front flashes, and a fan in the base of the fan blows Batmans cape...although it doesnt blow alot, it still moves! On the down side, the music is pretty loud when it plays, but I resolved this quickly and easily by folding up a small black towel and put it under the base, which is where the speaker is, and now it really is perfect! Behind Batman is the Gotham City skyline of buildings, which also serves as the lamp stand/shade holder. Its about 21" tall with the shade, and 10" wide and deep. Its so awesome and I love it! You gotta get one if you are a Batman fan what-so-ever!

We purchased this lamp for my 4 yr. old son for Christmas and he is absolutely in love with it! He loves CARS and this was a great addition to his room. We have had problems getting him to sleep on his own at night and now with this lamp as we don't have problems anymore. I agree with the previous reviewer about the voice of Lightning not being the original voice, but my son still LOVES it. I love that it has the 2 settings (1. with the full lamp on 2. just the backlit lightning bolt in blue so we can use it as a nightlight). I would definitely recommend this to CARS fans!

Best Deals for KNG Animated Lamp

At one point, I thought this would be a great addition to a "Cars" themed bedroom that was under construction. Found Amazon to be the best price, and they usually have great customer service, so I placed the order. Received the lamp and put it in the closet until the room was finished. Just under 2 months after receiving it, I opened the box and found only the nightlight portion would work (no main light at all). Holding down the demo button and wiggling the car just made a bunch of grinding noise. Found out that the return window was only 30 days. Doh! To Amazon's credit, they did allow me to return it, and credit most of my money back.

Ordered the lamp again, and just received it last night. Immediately took it out of the box and set it up. AGAIN, only the nightlight portion worked!!! No main light, no motion, no sound. Nada. The "instructions" are beyond useless. So, back to Amazon it goes.

The reseller for this second lamp was different than the first one. No matter. I will not try for a third. No wonder it is only available on-line. Makes for a great looking, but way too expensive, nightlight though!

Oh, I tried to rate it with no stars, but I had to have at least one to get this review through. Bah.

Honest reviews on KNG Animated Lamp

We got this lamp for my son's new "Cars" themed room. He loves it. He turns it on over and over. I wonder how long it will last, sometimes the talking stops before I think it is supposed to. Sometimes the light stays on, sometimes it goes off, and just the nightlight part stays on. What disappointed me the most is that it says that it plays songs and talks, but the song is not from the Cars movie, it is just some instrumental music and the voice is clearly NOT Lightning McQueen. That seems to bother me more than it bothers my son. Either way, he is happy with it, he loves it, and he uses the nightlight part to sleep with. I guess that is what is most important.

I got this for my almost 2 year old son's new "Cars" decorated room. I was sort of worried as to how I would like the lamp, but it is really neat. I like the "nightlight" feature as well which is nice to leave on without having the room lit up. The best part of it is my son just LOVES it. He dances and gets so excited when lightning Mcqueen and his music come on. I didn't really expect my son to actually ENJOY his lamps, lol, but it's the perfect must-have if you are decorating your son's room in Cars.

--

Well, it was great while it lasted. Went in his room and it's not working. No light... no sound, no movement. If anyone can tell me where to get it fixed or show it was misuse that caused it I will edit but I can honestly say I doubt it. Toys break, I get it... but generally I am the only person to touch this lamp and being used under a year it should still work. If it had cost $20 I would not care, but I paid a decent price for it and would expect it not to go out. His lamp from his nursery still works and he had that for two years before it was "retired".

Review of a 2 year-old Dyson:

Pros:

-Attractive aesthetic. The fan is absolutely beautiful, not to mention a conversation starter.

-**IT WON'T BLOCK YOUR VIEW.** With no cage to surround fan blades, objects/ light behind the Dyson remain unobstructed.

-Extremely easy to clean. This makes it great for allergies.

-Does not attract dust as easily as other fans, so there is less dust to clean.

-Shape allows easy storage, and is easily packed up for a move.

-Easy to carry some fans have awkward shapes and weight distribution, this fan does not. I carry it back and forth between rooms all the time and it is a piece of cake.

Cons:

-Louder than I expected

-Price over $300 seems a bit much for an item made of plastic.

This fan really works -good air, quiet, easy to clean and it doesn't block the view. For this price, though, it should also cook you a three-minute egg and make your bed. It doesn't.

Best Deals for Dyson AM01 Air Multiplier 12-Inch Table Fan in Silver/Iron

My wife wanted this Dyson fan because she liked the way it looked and wanted a fan that would not accumulate dust and blow it into our faces, as our previous $40 hardware store fan did. It does look good, but the fact is that it does not actually do very much cooling; it does not blow a heck of a lot of cool air our way, even at its highest setting. Our hardware store fan had "high," "medium," and "low" settings; I would generously estimate that the Dyson fan, at best, puts out 70% of the air of our previous fan's "low" setting. That just isn't good enough unless you also have the air conditioner running full blast, which defeats a good deal of the purpose of getting a fan in the first place. And for six times the cost of our hardware store fan... I wince. I truly wish I could return this product.

Honest reviews on Dyson AM01 Air Multiplier 12-Inch Table Fan in Silver/Iron

It looks like a gimmicky gadget but this thing Really Works well! It's an amazing piece of engineering I haven't studied it but it seems incredible the way it moves air so well with No Fan Blades. And This last bit is the reason why my wife (who normally likes to pinch the pennies a little more) was willing to spend more for this one over getting another Vornado. I love Vornado's but they scare my wife with having a toddler around (and another baby on the way). It's also easy to move around, and will be easy to clean.

I have only three beef's with it which cause me to take it down a notch from 5 stars despite it's amazing engineering:

1) It's a little lower power than you'd want to cool any size room really. You really need to train it on yourself (not oscillating back and forth in an attempt to cool the whole room). UNLESS you are using it in conjunction with air conditioning. That might work fine to make a room a bit cooler and to reduce energy costs)

2) It Is a little noisier than I would like. But Really not bad. Not louder than a Vornado that's for sure.

3) And then Price. This is a lot to pay for a plastic fan (or any fan I think, especially for this Size. It's only 12" diameter). But on this one too, well. It's a Dyson. You get what you pay for: Quality engineering (I can't tout the Dyson Vacuum we got Enough. It's brilliant design too. And for those who'd like to know: it's the Dyson DC47 Animal Canister Vacuum. $499 for a vacuum, Ouch! But it Rocks. It's a Dyson)

VERDICT 4 Stars => If you're in the market for a SAFE-with-small-kids-around-the-house midsize fan that does a nice job of keeping a person cool (e.g. you've got it trained on you while you lounge on the couch or the bed) it does the job and is worth the price.

Fan works great, sound is good enough to knock out some of the street noise and the air that it produces is great considering that it's bladeless!

I love it so much that I just bought a second one (on another site because of the price difference).

Review of Hydrofarm JSV4 4-Foot Jump Start T5 Grow Light System

Customer Ratings:
List Price: $79.95
Sale Price: $78.99
Today's Bonus: 1% Off

Just received and assembled this product today. I'm not sure why others have posted about poor quality and flimsy construction of this product. I am very satisfied with the construction and sturdiness. This product is exactly what I expected for the price, product description, and pictures.

I did notice that there are 3 very similar hydrofarm 4 foot grow systems listed on amazon, with a $15 price-range difference. This is the most expensive of the three. The only difference I can tell from the written description is that this product is described as having a premium light fixture. The pictures look the same. One of the other 4 foot hydrofarm systems received a few positive reviews.

Assembly required a philips head screwdriver, pair of pliers, and about 5 minutes of my time. One screw is used to connect each of the two vertical supports to the base cross-bars. Due to the shape and construction of the parts, this fit is tight and secure. Then each of the vertical side bars slips into the top piece (metal button is pressed and then releases into a hole on the top piece). Then you attach the light fixture itself, by hooking nylon string with s hooks attached to the top to either end of the light fixture. Pliers are used to close s hooks. The light is raised and lowered with the nylon string, very similar to a heavy venetian blind. It would be nice if the nylon string were a tad thicker, but it is sufficient for the job.

Overall, I am very happy with this product and would recommend it.

I have had this light set-up for a few years now, and still love it. The original fluorescent fixture conked out after 2 or 3 years' use, but a $10 shoplight fixture from a hardware store replaced it seamlessly. The stand is very light, and slightly aggravating to put together the first time, but it does the job beautifully. It is the easiest to adjust of all lighting systems I've used, allowing one-handed movement of the light up or down, making it great for seed starting. The one-handed-ness is made possible via some coiled metal strips within the cross-bar that create tension on the two strings or chains that connect to the sides of the light fixture. If you have to remove the fluorescent fixture for bulb replacement or storage, I recommend that you hook the two strings or chains to one another to avoid having to reassemble the tensioning mechanism, which can be annoying.

This, plus a few heat mats and a small fan on a timer are all I've needed to start and grow thousands of strong seedlings in my tiny apartment, populating the neighborhood with flowers and veges for years now!

Best Deals for Hydrofarm JSV4 4-Foot Jump Start T5 Grow Light System

I have some mixed feelings about this product, even though I'm about to order a second one. First, and the only downside to this light, the overall construction is rather cheap. The frame is rather flimsy...Hydrofarm put all their know-how into the most important part: The light itself. But be forewarned the frame is a bit wobbly. Since a grow light sits stationary most of the time, it's not a serious issue. The two biggest plus points for this product.. the price and the fact that it works. I grow exotics and palms in zone 7 and have to overwinter them inside, and my Hydrofarm light has kept them going for 2 years straight. Unless you have the extra bucks $$$ to invest in the HP sodium or metal halide lights (as well as the increased energy usage) it would be hard to beat this bargain.

Honest reviews on Hydrofarm JSV4 4-Foot Jump Start T5 Grow Light System

I don't usually leave reviews, but the questionable negative comments about this product urged me to write my first. I purchased this light for my five African Violets. First, I'd like to commend Amazon for its low price and incredibly fast shipping; the product was at least $20-$25 more at other sites, and I received it within two days. Assembling the light took under five minutes and was a breeze. The instructions, if needed, are very clear and easy to follow. I'm not sure why people say that the light assembly is flimsy. I think they must not be tightening the screws that attach the feet; if the screws are loose, the fixture will be too. If anything, its light weight is a plus, for it allows you to move it from room to room with ease if you want to. Adjusting and locking the height of the light is also very simple; its just like tightening the waist band of a winter jacket. After only 12 hours of resting under the fixture, my Violets are standing up much straighter and look healthier and happier. The whole system has added a beautiful cheerfulness to our home --a brightness that my poor African Violets just couldn't seem ever to find in the winter months in a very grey Chicago!

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Hydrofarm JSV4 4-Foot Jump Start T5 Grow Light System

I'm re-writing my review because issues mentioned in it previously are no longer issues. I have 2 of these now. I've uploaded 3 customer images to show how 2 of these can work together. One is an older design that uses two T12 bulbs, a pull rope for on/off switch and pull strings on the side for height adjustment. The newer design that is selling now is much better. The on/off switch is on the power cord. The height adjustment is much simpler using a friction/slip knob on a thicker cord. This newer design also uses only one T5 bulb.

I use this for growing vegetable plants from seeds until they're ready to go outside. I have seen reviews that say that this fixture doesn't supply enough light for seedlings and that is not true. For seedlings, adjust the light so that it's as close to your plant tops as possible without touching them (no more that 1 inch from the light). The closer the better. Keep your light(s) on for 16-18 hours a day. I use a timer to turn my lights on and off. Adjust your light height once or twice a day as your plants grow, always keeping the light close to the plant tops but not touching. Touching the light for a period of time will burn your plants. I do not shorten the time that my light is on as the plants grow. I have had great success with tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and others, all from seeds.

Another feature that comes in handy is that you can tilt the light at an angle (using the cord adjustment). My plants are different heights so I tilt my lights and tall plants go under the high end while the shorter plants go under the low end. If you just want a wider light, buy 2 of these and place them side by side. Again, see my customer images that show my setup.

As far as not being sturdy, once on the table top, they're as sturdy as they need to be. I've had no problems at all and I've been using these for a few years. If you're always moving them around then you need to be careful. The frame isn't designed well enough to be banged around.

Update on 8/3/2013: Customer images seem to get removed and then re-appear occasionally, so I apologize if the photos that I refer to aren't there. As I write this, they are still showing a photo of the old version and the rest are of the new (much improved) version.

Review of Crystal Chandelier w/ White LED Acrylic White 6001/4CY

Customer Ratings:

It is not a common chandelier but my wife loved the contemporary look.

Pros: Beautiful, different, can be controlled via remote control (included), and the two lighting modes (leds and/or incandescent) are nice.

Cons: Included support plate not stiff enough for the weight of the chandelier and I noticed some minor defects in the chromed supporting pipes (not really visible after the chandelier is installed).
