Great lamp! The build is very well done. The only thing I think could have a used a little more QC or craftsmanship is the shades themselves. They are not 100% flat/even. So you have to rotate them if you want all there to be level. Otherwise they will lean in slightly different angles and with 3 of them this can make it look pretty bad. You can also use a pair of pliers and gently try to bend the metal frames to straighten them out a bit. I found that rotating them until they were relatively level was a lot easier. The only down side is that the price was ridiculous. I was lucky to get it for less than $100 off amazon's warehouse as a like-new item.

Now the reason why it was not what I was expecting is the dimmer switch. I thought this meant all 3 lights would be continuously dimmable. What wasn't clear in the description is that when they mean dimmable they mean, one of the three lights turn on, two of the three lights turn on and all three lights turn on with rotation of the dial on top of the base plate with distinguishable clicks for each setting. This was a little annoying because it looks pretty bad in my opinion with one or two of the lights off (makes me think "oh, one of your light bulbs have burned out") Either way it was a great product and not worth taking away one star because the description was not clear enough. Over all I would not pay more than $100 for this. I found many others that looks "similar" for much better price. I just like this color and design well enough to splurge for it as a like-new item.

I was looking for a bright, non heat generating, reading lamp for my under-the-stairs-room. I like to read the Bible and pray in the morning. The room is small. If the lamp gets hot, the room gets hot quickly. This lamp never gets hot under the light bulb, even after it is turned on for a while. Also the lamp is fairly bright: it consists of two 15W fluorescent bulbs. The body is well-made hard plastic and it is sturdy. The lamp is not fancy, but it serves its purpose very well. I am so happy that I found this lamp!

if both the bulbs worked...Only one bulb lit...so I had to send it back...I wish the company would have tested the bulbs and make sure all the connections worked. I looked all over for a lamp like this that I used to have...this was the closest thing I found...and I was disappointed that I had to return it.

I bought a Ledu Fluorescent Gooseneck Desk Lamp and have been using it for several years. I really liked it and was wondering if I would be able to find another one when it was necessary. After searching online, I was delighted to have found another one by way of Amazon. I ordered and received it within two days due to the fact that the supplier is in the same city as I am. The on/off switch is different from the one I previously had but that's a good thing because the switch was an ongoing problem on my old one which ultimately was the cause of its demise. This is a nice lamp. The bulb is color-balanced and very bright. The two lenses are real glass, both clear and bright. Overall construction seems very good, the pivot points are smooth and tight and the frame seems solid. It stays where you put it. My only negative is with the clamp-on portion, which could be a bit larger and stronger, although it isn't bad. In my case, I don't use the clamp anyway, just drilled a 1/2" hole near the edge of my workbench and the light fits solidly in the hole and isn't in the way.

Overall, I give it 5 stars for the quality of the light, the lenses, and the arm mechanism, as well as the overall design and slim size. I might knock off a half-star for the table clamp if I could. Check out others like this (I looked at dozens) and you'll see that most are more expensive and possibly not as good. Completely satisfied with this purchase.

This lamp is AWESOME. It's the same one sold in the Universal Catalogue for Aestheticians at $109.00. There's no distortion and provides great day-like light. Holds its place when adjusted using the screw bracket, it's not a gooseneck. You can't just grab and turn this one with one hand, like most of us tend to do. Best for single technician use or shared use, if you get other users to adjust the tilt and position properly, so as not to strip the bracket.

The lamp is 22 watts but puts out enough light to be used as a ceiling light in a small room (10x10feet). It adjusts from 8 inches above the desk to about 42 inches above the desk. The desk being 30 inches off the floor. The adjustments are smooth and positive. Once adjusted it stays adjusted. No sign of droop. It swings 180 degrees in its mounting in my installation. The movement is smooth and positive.

It comes with two lenses (high and low magnification) that are high quality glass and easily interchangable.

The lamp gets warm but not hot. It uses an electronic ballast that is quiet both audibly and electrically. I use a lot ot electronic equipment that is sensitive to electrical noise. This lamp does not appear to produce any electrical interference.

In very small print on the box there is the declaration 'made in china'. The lamp it is replacing was also made in china and was a useless piece of junk. I guess the new lamp was made by a company that knows how to make lamps because this Daylight lamp is high quality, superbly functional, and only cost about $40 more than I paid for my previous junky lamp..

This lamp is a wonderful tool for anyone who needs to inspect or work with items that must be magnified for ease of manipulation. For years I sat at my table with two pairs of glasses on. Stupid!

I chose to buy a lamp/magnifier (in one) rather than an appliance that has separate arms for the light source and the magnifier. The clamp-on mount I find a bit wobbly, but that does not concern me too much. The lamp itself does not get hot when lit, and perfect for beading work. Just the other day it became my operating theater as I removed a garden splinter!

Here's a safety tip: My work station is in front of a window, and if you remember from camping, magnified sunlight can start a fire. I simply made a fabric bag to cover the lamp head when it is not in use. The added benefit is the glass does not get dusty, either.

Great, bright light.

You don't have to kiss the magnifier to see clearly through it and nor does what you are trying to magnify!

Doesn't get scolding hot.

Stays in place.

Moves well and the mounting clamp is good.

Magnifying lenses are nice, big and a breeze to change out.

Cons:

Expensive. But with this being the only con I've found so far I would say it's worth the money for sure.

Loved it so much I gave one to my father in law who does bird carving; He loves it just as much!

I didn't need 10 of them, but I got 10 because we have old lamps around the house. The threads on one of the kbos had stripped. One of these twisted on. It works. What more can you really say about an object like this? It's a lamp knob. It works. Buy lamps from Salvation Army instead of Target. Get these for a buck if you need them. Happy days. This is a wonderful lamp, but I was dismayed to find that the bulbs have been discontinued all over the Internet. They are available only at Holtkoetter.com. I am keeping the lamps only because tinted replacement windows, better for Arizona than leafy NC, have made my living room dreary and dark. These lamps on either side of the mantel are the perfect cure. I just have to hope that the bulbs will continue to be available. I feel a bit snookered and probably would not have placed the order had I known I would be dependent on one web site for speciality bayonet-based replacement bulbs. The bulbs are 2000 hours and cost $24 each. The lamp directions state that using a bulb other than the Osram bulb could cause a fire.

First of all, I can't recommend purchasing this from Amazon because they sent it in just its flimsy product box and unsurprisingly, it was beat to hell by the time it arrived. Fortunately the lampshade was better protected within, but the base sustained some scuffs on the edges.

Second of all, I didn't realize this required a special bulb. I know, I know, *read* the specifications... but I read the specs on the floor lamp I was purchasing and it accepts normal-size bulbs, and then I purchased this on a whim, assuming it was the same. So it's costing me considerably more than thirty bucks, both to buy the special bulbs and in electricity, since I can't use CFL bulbs.

Pros: Attractive, matches the standing lamp perfectly, small footprint on desk.

Cons: Non-standard bulbs, very tiny, requires a lot of fiddling when putting together to get the glass shade straight, 'Philips' sticker on the base that left residue when removed.

Our tornado lava lamp did not work either when plugged in. My son noticed a spring was attached to the magnet where the motor is. He removed the spring and placed it below the motor in a slot where there are other springs. The motor then was able to run. The spinner disk inside the lamp was then able to rotate and create the tornado effect. The tornado is smaller than expected though. Doesn't look like the picture at all.

As a child I was fascinated by all forms of vortexes so this lava light brings out my childhood fascination! Very fun to watch and impresses all of the friends!

It's lit by LEDs and has a tiny motor which spins a magnetic bit inside the lamp which once it hits high speeds causes a vortex inside the glass. If you think back to Charybdis in "The Odyssey" you'll get the idea of what is going on here.

Since it is LED lit it has a very low power consumption (roughly 6W) so it's barely more costly than a night light to run.

Unlike a traditional lava lamp which can take upwards of 15-30 minutes to get going, this lamp only takes seconds.

"Santa" got this for my son (7 years old) for Christmas this year and he LOVED it! He's totally into tornadoes, and this light was a great and unique gift that he wasn't expecting. GREAT color when it is turned on. There are also glittery bits inside it as well, so as soon as it starts spinning, it is very shiny and colorful. It's quiet when it is running, and really makes a fun night light too. I liked that it is plug-in instead of battery operated. It was well packed when it shipped. Absolutely no problems. It fit the bill for exactly what I was hoping it would be when we got it.

The piece on the bottom that is used to make tornado came undone even thought it's a magnext and reconnects, it still makes a horrible noise for someone to see too. I bought this for my son and he can't sleep with it making so much noise. I would not recommend this to anyone. Poorly made!!

It's mesmerizing in person and is actually cheaper at a local Spencer's store near me. It changes from blue, red, and then to green. Although in my lamp, the green led is rather weak. You can't expect too much quality control from lamps that cost this cheap.

No major issues with this light,. The color is neutral and a medium brightness. The neck is rather weak near the base so it droops from that point. The switch is not located too close to the unit, which works well. I think it is a little overpriced at $18.49

This lamp is as awesome as it gets! I looked all over the web for a video of this lamp showing its animation and there is none to be found, until now...Ive made a video so that you can actually SEE what it does. When you push the button, the 1989 Batman theme song plays, a light of the Batman logo in the front flashes, and a fan in the base of the fan blows Batmans cape...although it doesnt blow alot, it still moves! On the down side, the music is pretty loud when it plays, but I resolved this quickly and easily by folding up a small black towel and put it under the base, which is where the speaker is, and now it really is perfect! Behind Batman is the Gotham City skyline of buildings, which also serves as the lamp stand/shade holder. Its about 21" tall with the shade, and 10" wide and deep. Its so awesome and I love it! You gotta get one if you are a Batman fan what-so-ever!

We purchased this lamp for my 4 yr. old son for Christmas and he is absolutely in love with it! He loves CARS and this was a great addition to his room. We have had problems getting him to sleep on his own at night and now with this lamp as we don't have problems anymore. I agree with the previous reviewer about the voice of Lightning not being the original voice, but my son still LOVES it. I love that it has the 2 settings (1. with the full lamp on 2. just the backlit lightning bolt in blue so we can use it as a nightlight). I would definitely recommend this to CARS fans!

At one point, I thought this would be a great addition to a "Cars" themed bedroom that was under construction. Found Amazon to be the best price, and they usually have great customer service, so I placed the order. Received the lamp and put it in the closet until the room was finished. Just under 2 months after receiving it, I opened the box and found only the nightlight portion would work (no main light at all). Holding down the demo button and wiggling the car just made a bunch of grinding noise. Found out that the return window was only 30 days. Doh! To Amazon's credit, they did allow me to return it, and credit most of my money back.

Ordered the lamp again, and just received it last night. Immediately took it out of the box and set it up. AGAIN, only the nightlight portion worked!!! No main light, no motion, no sound. Nada. The "instructions" are beyond useless. So, back to Amazon it goes.

The reseller for this second lamp was different than the first one. No matter. I will not try for a third. No wonder it is only available on-line. Makes for a great looking, but way too expensive, nightlight though!

Oh, I tried to rate it with no stars, but I had to have at least one to get this review through. Bah.

We got this lamp for my son's new "Cars" themed room. He loves it. He turns it on over and over. I wonder how long it will last, sometimes the talking stops before I think it is supposed to. Sometimes the light stays on, sometimes it goes off, and just the nightlight part stays on. What disappointed me the most is that it says that it plays songs and talks, but the song is not from the Cars movie, it is just some instrumental music and the voice is clearly NOT Lightning McQueen. That seems to bother me more than it bothers my son. Either way, he is happy with it, he loves it, and he uses the nightlight part to sleep with. I guess that is what is most important.

I got this for my almost 2 year old son's new "Cars" decorated room. I was sort of worried as to how I would like the lamp, but it is really neat. I like the "nightlight" feature as well which is nice to leave on without having the room lit up. The best part of it is my son just LOVES it. He dances and gets so excited when lightning Mcqueen and his music come on. I didn't really expect my son to actually ENJOY his lamps, lol, but it's the perfect must-have if you are decorating your son's room in Cars.

Well, it was great while it lasted. Went in his room and it's not working. No light... no sound, no movement. If anyone can tell me where to get it fixed or show it was misuse that caused it I will edit but I can honestly say I doubt it. Toys break, I get it... but generally I am the only person to touch this lamp and being used under a year it should still work. If it had cost $20 I would not care, but I paid a decent price for it and would expect it not to go out. His lamp from his nursery still works and he had that for two years before it was "retired".

Lamp seems to be a pretty decent product and we like the looks of it, but te base is extremely light, causing the lamp to be somewhat top-heavy. Have to be careful not to bump the upper section when turning lamp on as it tends to want to fall over.

So far i have purchased two on these LED candy lamps. Because they are LED the quality of the daylight like lit area for such a compact lamp is impressive. The weighted base is nice and small 3x5 and the switch is easy to use. the design is contemporary and refreshing.

The lamp tube that holds the bulb rotates. 360 degrees . The hinge allows the lamp head to be raised to vertical all the way to a right angle but it does not fold straight down. It is energy efficient and a very long life bulb . I have used it for several hours in battery mode as well and loved it.

I have not had it for long , so time will tell if it will hold up , i just may buy two more cool to the touch candy lamp for my weaving studio for each loom. They are not inexpensive like clamp on lights but again the have options clamp ons do not have , like they run on batteries and are LED and stylish with many color options.

UPDATE:

I have 7 of these lamps now. I am so very happy with there quality over the past year of use . I have recomended them and now my friends are buying multiple lamps too because they are so perfect for so many places around the house, studio, office.

Now i wish that they would come out with a tall floor lamp model . I continue to be very impressed with its preformance and appearence.

I was looking for an LED desk lamp and researched this purchase for weeks before deciding on this one. I almost decided to just go with an incandescent lamp after seeing how expensive most LED's are, especially after seeing the small amount of light that they generally put out. I was ready to order another lamp when I saw this one. The price was right. I was also intrigued by the rechargeable battery and the USB plug, so I decided to give it a try. I'm really glad I did!

First, I have to say that this is such a cool looking light. The color is great and it's sleek and modern. It is also reasonably bright. I bought this one and took it to my office and found that the red color, while really great, didn't really match my office, so I took it home to use as a bedside lamp. Then I got on Amazon again and ordered the green one for my office. They are both wonderful!

Now the details. This light is very well made very solid and surprisingly heavy. I have a tendency to put lots of stuff on my nightstand and was afraid that I might knock it off, but its weighted base keeps it securely where I put it. The light is bright enough to read by, and it is easy to adjust the light to where you need it. It comes with a wall plug with a USB cord, so you can plug it into the wall or a computer, and the battery comes in handy for outages, or for when I need a light where there is no outlet. I suppose the only down side is that the light is very white. This doesn't bother me, but if you're looking for a warmer light go with something else. If you're looking for a reasonably priced LED though, you can't go wrong with this one.

I purchased this mini along with single light pendants to be used in a basement family room remodel. This light hangs above a brown/black pub table set.
