Review of Crackle Glass Mermaid On Conch Accent Table Lamp
Beautiful product!! My daughter is gonna love it! Thank you so much for the prompt shipping. It was here before it was even due.I greatly recommend this! Great for any beach place or as a bathroom light in the evening (what I use it for). Was looking for a mermaid light to add a certain sexuality to the room but most had breasts showing. This one is pretty and classy. Excellent quality and color. Well worth the price.

Review of Alvin G2540-B Swing Arm Lamp, Black
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $25.00

The plastic attachment device to affix the lamp often breaks when tightened. If you don't tighten it enough the lamp is unsteady. This has happened several times over the years with Alvin swing lamps and is the result of supplying and using a supposedly hardened plastic attachment rather than one made of steel. Be prepared to drill a hole or otherwise jerry-rig some other method to mount this lamp. It is a great lamp when it works but getting it mounted is sometimes a problem and is the result of the cheapening and plasticization of many products.
Because of this 40 years (and now more) I can give you a few hints about its use and misuse.
First, do not yank the lamp around like its a garden hose; parts will break.
Second, mount the lamp where you have proper clearance in the directions you plan on moving the swing arm.
Third, move the lamp to the position or general area you will most likely use it the most and then do your
adjusting.
Fourth, (and this is a little secret) you can use the cord as leverage at the lamp head by pulling some of the
cord back through the swing arm assembly and in doing so this will help hold up the lamp head and not put all
the strain on the tightening screw (which is plastic). This (besides the main plastic clamp) is one of your two main stress areas.
Fifth, loosen the middle screw more than the others and the swing arm will flex much better and you will let the
springs do there jobs.
And lastly, Yeh, the friggin clamp is made of plastic; if you can't live with it, drill a hole in the desk and
shove in the post.
I do have at least 4 or 5 of the old metal clamps laying around this place and I guess it would be a good time to go find one.
However, now both of these lamps are broken. The reason is simple: the plastic fixtures which connect the lamp to the desk are just too brittle. I made the minor mistake of turning the lamp in a direction that it is supposed to be able to turn in and, suddenly: POP the fixture snapped in two!
Lamp Number 1, RIP
And today, Lamp Number 2 went the same way of the Dodo I was trying to turn the lamp around, so I could illuminate a document and POP the same cheap plastic fixture gave way with almost no pressure having been applied to it whatsoever.
Lamp Number 2, RIP
Thus, I'm in the market for a new desk lamp and, despite everything else about this lamp being really rather good, I fear I simply cannot purchase another one of these lamps, due to the inevitable POP (and mourning period) that will follow shortly thereafter.
I would not recommend purchasing this lamp UNLESS you do not wish to swing the swing arm. Ever. (Seriously do not touch the swing arm: then everything should be fine).
Otherwise, avoid or, prepare for a POP.

The Alvin lamp; and other brands, but especially Alvin have been around about as long as I can remember, and I am going on 66. I used these lamps for all of my 40 year work carrier as first, a drafter (yea, I actually drew with a pencil) and then into graphics and CAD, but this lamp was always around.Because of this 40 years (and now more) I can give you a few hints about its use and misuse.

I bought this lamp for a dorm room, where my desk is under my bed. It fits my needs perfectly. It clamps on (the clamp can be mounted on a sideways plane) the support brace for my bed, and is highly articulate. It's also very steady, if you tighten down the screws, and doesn't droop too much if tightened. My one problem with this lamp is that it has the tendency to droop slightly if not tightened, and the clamp may wear out (but is probably replaceable.) If you're looking for a cheap swing arm lamp that still looks professional, look no further!Honest reviews on Alvin G2540-B Swing Arm Lamp, Black
I bought this 4 months ago, and the metal that holds the socket on the lamp broke, so the bulb and socket started falling out of the lamp. I thought about hot-glueing it, but then the switch fell out of the socket. Into the trash it went.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Alvin G2540-B Swing Arm Lamp, Black
I have owned two of these lamps now. I bought the first one and was initially impressed by the flexibility of the lamp it swivels and it turns quite well and, as such, it appeared to be a perfect desk lamp for those that occasionally require more light than at other times. You can flick it on and pull it into place (say, for spotlighting a book you're reading) and then you can push it back out of the way easily again. So, due to this initial experience, I decided to buy a second one (as a reading lamp for the bedroom). However, now both of these lamps are broken. The reason is simple: the plastic fixtures which connect the lamp to the desk are just too brittle. I get compliments constantly on just how bright and beautiful this lamp is. I will buy another to fill my home with the beautiful glow.
IN MY CLOSET. BUT I WAS ABLE TO REPLACE IT WITH A VERY NICE LAMP FROM WALMART AND PAID LESS MONEY. YOUR LAMP IS VERY PRETTY.
I had not wanted to use the internet for shopping but after I was 'turned on' by my son who uses Amazon frequently I tried and thus far have enjoyed my shopping and buying experiences. The description was pretty good and evidently accurate as all items I have purchased are as described.

I bought 2 and they're definitely nice looking, but I noticed the "bronze" color (which looks black in the picture, but is actually a very dark brown with a "distressed" ring of dull gold around the edge) has scratched off in a couple places. Fortunately they were places that no one would notice, but it may be something to consider. The shades are greatthick and wavy with nice coloring. Overall, I'm happy.
They are well made and attractive.
The size of the frosted glass is perfect.
Not too big or too small.

Glass is irregular, looks classy and gives off lovely glow. The metal holder is trashy, but could be fixed with a bronze spray paint. Only 3 feet of cord is included. This is not enough for the average buyer, but could be fixed by a local electrician.Best Deals for Westinghouse 69006 Hearthstone 60-Watt 1-Light Mini Pendant

Reviews of Quoizel MC771TVA Peyton 22-1/2-Inch 2-Light Table Lamp with Mica
I really like this lamp, it has an unusual shape and presence that lends itself well to either classic arts and crafts/mission or transitional décor.
The only thing I do not care for is the cheesy inline control switch, which is clumsy and inconveniently placed. Some day when I have nothing else to do, may rewire this lamp with new pull-chain sockets.... more convenient and more 'period correct' for this type of illumination. -1 star for the switch.
The combination of mica inner shade and stained-glass outer cage is stunning and has garnered many compliments. This table lamp casts a beautifully warm, soft glow with a contemporary shape that still captures the feel and ambiance of the great Southwest. Highly recommended.

This is my first written review. I had been looking for new lamps for m living room for awhile. I stumbled upon these by chance and instantly fell in love. I however did not order right away. Pros: Lots of different designs and colors to choose from.
Easy to assemble.
Put out a nice bright light at night.
Reasonable price.
Cons: Size s a little small.
Small shade.
I would recommend these lamps to anybody. I find them a great buy.

I returned this lamp for multiple reasons. The socket assembly didn't screw in fully, which left the bulb/shade very wobbly, the shade was dented and the seam open (not at all glued), there were scratches on the base, and the hole in the finial was drilled off center, giving the entire lamp a look that matched its lack of stability. If this wasn't enough to make me not love it, a friend and I both felt that the shade was too small for the size of the base. What it did have going for it was good colors and a warm look.Best Deals for Kenroy Home 20390NR Santiago Table Lamp, Natural Reed

=== Background ===
Before I bought this, I purchased a Belkin Conserve Socket F7C009q Energy-Saving Outlet. The first Belkin I received was defective, it wouldn't shut off at the end of the time interval. The replacement worked fine.
The SimpleTouch I also bougth from Amazon worked fine from the start.
=== Comparison to the Belkin ===
Current Price (shipped free): SimpleTouch $15, Belkin $10
As an energy saver, both devices have promise. The SimpleTouch has a parasitic drain of it's own, I measured it consuming 1.1W in standby mode while plugged in. But you can turn the socket back off with a second press of the button. The Belkin does not consume any measurable power, however your device stays running until the time is up because there is not "OFF" feature on the Belkin. So I can't say one is better than the other, however I can say in theory the Belkin is better for energy savings on a low parasitic drain device (5W)
As safety devices, I cannot recommend the Belkin because my first one failed to turn off even though the LED status appeared normal. Keep in mind that adding a socket controller inserts another source of failure. Nothing works better than unplugging the device, but we are human and may forget, so that's where these devices help. For best safety, unplug the timer, not the device.
Functionally, the Belkin seems to offer more flexibity because it has three time settings. However, I have found that pressing the button does not reset the counter to zero. The only way to reset the timer is to unplug it, plug it back in, then restart the process. The only way to turn it off manually is unplug it. This is the worst thing about the Belkin. The SimpleTouch offers only one time setting, but it's perfect for situations where you only want an hour (for me, my morning countertop radio) and may want to turn it off earlier than the end of the timer cycle.
In order to avoid covering the second outlet, you must install the Belkin in the top receptacle, and for the SimpleTouch it must be installed in the bottom outlet. The SimpleTouch does a better job at staying out of the profile of the adjacent socket. However, when you plug in the device you must support the back of the SimpleTouch to counter the plugging force which is inconvenient becuase it requires two hands. The SimpleTouch has a rotating outlet, the Belkin is fixed; so the SimpleTouch might work better if you have a horizontal wall socket and a vertical adapter brick application.
The status LED is dim green on the Belkin, and bright red on the SimpleTouch. I prefer the SimpleTouch because the light from the Belkin can't be seen during the day. Some might not like the bright LED on the SimpleTouch at night.
The Belkin is a little nicer device to look at. The "hourglass" label around the SimpleTouch with a hole punched through it for the LED has a lower quality appearance.
Both devices disengage without coming back on when the power goes out or the unit is unplugged. Both are UL rated.
===Bottom Line===
The SimpleTouch is a better unit if you want the convenience of being able to turn the device off instead of unplugging it and you can live with one time setting. The plug configuration is better, but requires two hands while plugging.
Unfortunately, the SimpleTouch consumes a constant 1.1W of power when plugged in, and feels a little warm. What good is an energy saving device that wastes energy itself? Only on devices that are more wasteful.
My experience so far is that the SimpleTouch is more reliable as a safety shut-off device, my first Belkin downright failed to turn off on my twice, so I returned it for a replacement.
You may want to compare other features in the product description like warranty, etc. I was not trying to compare everything, just what's important to me in the way I use the products.
Thank goodness this auto shut-off safety outlet is on the market. $14.99 is such a small price to pay for peace of mind. If you're thinking about buying this for similar reasons, don't hesitate. BUY IT!

This is perfect for us! My daughter likes to fall asleep with the light on and with our creaky floors, I would sometimes wake her when I went back in her room to turn the light off. This solves my problems! I have the light plugged into it and turned on. When I want the light on, I push the button on the timer. It counts down 60 minutes and shuts itself off. It's perfect. Easy to replace as long as you use the old wiring and NOT the little picture on the back of the packaging, that are the supossed "instructions"

Not knowing when I purchased it, but this item was the exact same "3-way touch switch" that was originally installed in my touch lamp. Therefore, installation was very easy. One of my luckier days.Best Deals for Touch Light Sensor
The sensors work perfectly. The profile of the packaging is a little too large for both of the lamps I installed these in, but the circuit board easily comes out of the encasement and has a very low profile. The wiring diagram has a little to be desired, but some thought in conjunction with the diagram will get you through the installation void of trouble. The installation time, from start to finish, was around 15 minutes. Without a doubt, when I convert my next lamp to a touch lamp, I'll be ordering these again.Honest reviews on Touch Light Sensor
Ordered this touch light sensor on a Tuesday and received it on a Friday via USPS. Thanks for the speedy delivery! The product performed as advertised. It made my favorite light useful again! You may need to install the yellow ground wire first before making any other connections instead of last as the instructions show.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Touch Light Sensor

This lamp is really quite stunning. There is a little hint of blue leaves (which doesn't show up in the pictures), but it looks great together with the other colors.
