I. What do you like about the lamps?

The great thing about this lamp set is that you get three for a good price. They are fairly easy to assemble and look somewhat refined, being as they are not overly decorative or outlandish. If you are going for something subtle for a quiet setting, these will fit right in. The amount of light these lamps cast is surprising, and I would say that's the best part! This is because the shades themselves are not very dense and are of a light color.

II. Is there anything you don't like about them?

One small nuisance with these lamps is that the shades are easily knocked askew. This is because the shades are held in place by knob-shaped caps. The problem is that each cap is smaller than the metal ring that it screws down into. The effect is that the shade is able to slide out of place just enough to make the passerby tilt their head and say, "That looks crooked."

III. Anything else I should know?

The only suggestion I have is that you may want to look into replacement shades at some point if you want to get rid of the problem of crookedness or if you want to soften lighting. By the way, I got mine for about $150.00. I would not pay more than that for this item. Also, there are other lamp sets of the same brand available with similar designs. I had bought a ceiling light at Lowe's and loved it. The colors were vivid and beautiful and matched my room perfectly. When I saw this lamp I was so excited because it looked exactly like the ceiling light. I was disappointed when it arrived tho. It's not made as well and the bluish gray you see in the pic isn't on the lamp I got. It also looks as though some of the squares of mother of pearl are burnt around the edges. It gives off an odd odor that I'm hoping will go away over time.

This lamp is even more beautiful than the picture. The one problem I have with it is that the top is attached by the cord running through the lamp to the bottom and I can not get it to attach tightly or completely level...it could just be me or this particular lamp but it does bother me that it is never exactly straight. It is so pretty though that I still would not return it but if knew about the connection in advance I probably would not have purchased in the first place.

These lamps were an exceptional value for use in my bedroom. The weight is formidable, compared to most lamps under $200 these days. I paid nearly half of that price point. These lamps have a unique "Oriental" Frank Lloyd Wright kind of styling that works well with either masculine or feminine decor. In fact, these lamps remind me of the decor my high school friend's uber sexy and wealthy parents had in the 70s. A little bit of Halston I would say. BTW: The 3-Way Bulb is a plus.

This is an extremely awesome light. Because it has so many different LED stalks in a dark room it barely produces any shadows.

While you might not want to read by it, it's definitely a giant source of awesome, and produces a very even light throughout the room.

Assembly was very easy, just be aware the size is somewhat larger than your typical table lamp.

The ability to buy this item without having to drive to IKEA was definitely worth the added markup as IKEA does not sell these direct.

Excelent minimalist product that does not provide much light but "enlights" any area. I had to renew these lamps after 6 years of being exposed to the sun as the plastic turns yellow over time.

I really like this lamp, it has an unusual shape and presence that lends itself well to either classic arts and crafts/mission or transitional décor.

The only thing I do not care for is the cheesy inline control switch, which is clumsy and inconveniently placed. Some day when I have nothing else to do, may rewire this lamp with new pull-chain sockets.... more convenient and more 'period correct' for this type of illumination. -1 star for the switch.

The combination of mica inner shade and stained-glass outer cage is stunning and has garnered many compliments.

This full spectrum light has greatly uplifted my mood at work where I have all florescent lighting. I have recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and the spectrum lighting seems to help ease off the gloom and depression. I was hoping the light adjusted to 26" as advertised but the lamp is actually 26" to the top of the light if you bend the neck straight up. I have to put it on a lift to get it above my computer monitor.

UPDATE: Since I wrote this review originally, Amazon began carrying replacement bulbs that fit this lamp (27 Watt SAD Sun Light Therapy Lamp Replacement Bulb). I ordered a couple of these replacement bulbs, and once received and installed, this lamp works great. I really like the shade of light that it emits, much more so than other desk lamps I've used with standard bulbs. I've upgraded my original review to give this product 4 stars, the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I had to separately buy the bulb that should have came with it. If that hadn't happened, this lamp would've received all 5 stars from me!!

Lamp was received without any bulb! Now, I can understand if this thing used a 'standard' light bulb, but this is a specialized bulb that I can't find anywhere locally. If it weren't such a pain, I'd return the whole darn thing. Buyer beware!!

I bought two of these lamps and first of all the look and feel cheap and one didn't work out of the box. They are cheap junk that the trouble and time I will spend taking them to ship back is something that Amazon should not sell the product at all. This lamp is exactly what it looks like and is nice enough, and while I don't regret buying it, it did come coated in a sticky and slightly smelly oil that took some time to clean up. Also, the styrofoam packing had somehow gotten heated to the point of melting onto a section of the power cord.

This greenish, or yellow green turtle with baby light is the best looking I've had. I collect these lights and have over 30 of these but this one is the only one I have ever seen with a baby on its back. Looks great when it is lighted.

The lighting is great from this desk lamp. However it is cheaply made. The adjustments constantly come loose and if the light falls hard enough due to the adjustment coming loose it will break. Made of plastic products it does not hold up. Duct Tape works well to remedy if it breaks though. Again great lighting cheaply made duct tape is a good, cheap repair.

Doesn't like to stay very long at some angles, no matter how tightly you screw at the joint. Light is very white and stark. Not what I consider "sun like" but I suppose that all comes down to measured color temperature. This lived on my desk for a few years, but I'm removing it today. Just stopped by here to see if it was still selling and worth anything. (No.) It's going to charity for a tax writeoff, but this light will be good for somebody, I'm sure.

I like the lamp and it gives off great light. The touch button for on and off doesn't always work. They said it has a 3 year warranty, I think, so I didn't send it back right away. Just unplug and replug it in when you need to.

I received this hunk-of-junk yesterday as a gift. The only reason I'm given it one star is so that I can WARN potential buyers to STAY AWAY. Cheap, flimsy plastic construction, which is exactly what I've learned to expect from China. The 'touch switch' is faulty and only allows me to turn the light on every once in a while. So basically I have a desktop lamp that only works when it want to.
