I. What do you like about the lamps?
The great thing about this lamp set is that you get three for a good price. They are fairly easy to assemble and look somewhat refined, being as they are not overly decorative or outlandish. If you are going for something subtle for a quiet setting, these will fit right in. The amount of light these lamps cast is surprising, and I would say that's the best part! This is because the shades themselves are not very dense and are of a light color.
II. Is there anything you don't like about them?
One small nuisance with these lamps is that the shades are easily knocked askew. This is because the shades are held in place by knob-shaped caps. The problem is that each cap is smaller than the metal ring that it screws down into. The effect is that the shade is able to slide out of place just enough to make the passerby tilt their head and say, "That looks crooked."
III. Anything else I should know?
The only suggestion I have is that you may want to look into replacement shades at some point if you want to get rid of the problem of crookedness or if you want to soften lighting. By the way, I got mine for about $150.00. I would not pay more than that for this item. Also, there are other lamp sets of the same brand available with similar designs.
