I was very disappointed in the actual lamp vs. the representation online. The colors on the globe do not match the base and are not the colors represented online. Instead of subtle goldish yellow, green and blue to match the bottom part of the lamp, the colors on the globe are bright orange, red, yellow, and blue. Frankly, if I could return it hassle free, I would. The reason I bought this lamp was because of it's subtle colors and what I have is gawky and tacky looking. Cheap Tiffany-style Dragonfly Mosaic Table Lamp
this lamp is very appealing on line but in reality is very cheap looking. Most of the lamp looks like it was painted on not individual pieces of glass. The worst part of it is that is cost me $47.00 to return!! Be wary before you buy!!

Discount Sylvania SA105 15 Amp Table Top Lamp Timer
My previous lamp timer was digital and I was able to set on/off times for every day of the week. The problem was it was so complicated that it took 15 minutes to change the program. This mechanical timer is so easy pull the tab up, light goes off. Push tab down, light goes on. Spin the dial and set the time of day.
Here are some innovative designs the timer sits on a table so there's no crawling around on the floor to turn the light on. There's a bypass switch and indicator light for manual control and to tell you if the lamp isn't on because the bulb is burned out. It's rated at 15 amps. With this much juice I'm using it to turn on my coffee pot in the morning. Turn any coffee maker into an automatic coffee maker.
Here's the stuff which keeps it from being a perfect design the switched outlet is on the back of the unit rather than on the cord. You would think they'd put the timed outlet at the wall socket and give you an unswitched outlet on the table top? I thought it was backwards, but then again the coffee pot cord is so short it's perfect for me. And, the so-called "decorative protective cover" which "complements any decor while protecting your settings." Yea... ok, it's a nice design but it has the word SYLVANIA in large blazing capital letters on the cover which is not shown in the photo. Functional? Yes. Decorative? No.
Conclusion: It's a great high-quality timer.
Here's the issue: I tried one of the good, old fashioned timers like this one, the same kind that many of us have used over the years to turn lights on and off, for use with Christmas trees, and such. In this case, however, the timer had to be placed in an out-of-the way socket, and even that was OK. But timers like this have little red and green plastic tripper clips, the red one for off, and the green one for on. Loose one of these clips and it makes the timer as useful as a brick... it sits there and does nothing. And that's what happened to me one of the little plastic tripper clips was lost behind the furniture somewhere.
A trip to the hardware store resulted in being told that the clips were not in stock; further checking resulted in being informed that the little clips were backordered... but, I was shown a small electronic timer that was "much better" than the "old fashioned kind" as it had no mechanical parts, and since it was on a "special sale" the new, state-of-the-art electronic timer cost little more than the little red and green clips. So I bought it.
Long story to short, that was my second mistake. About the third day that it was plugged in, the unit made a strange high-pitched humming sound. I pulled the furniture out of the way to check it, and watched its little digital LCD display flicker, and a small puff of smoke rose from the unit. Right there in front of my eyes, it died. So back to the store it went for a refund.
Came back home and went online to Amazon to see what was offered, and that's how I ended up with this Sylvania Table Top Lamp Timer. It looks like a rectangular clam with rounded corners, but it works... quietly and efficiently. This timer has no removable clips or pegs that can get lost. It takes just a few seconds to push the pegs in at the times that you want the light to turn on and it does just that. There are 48 of the little grey pins, so each one equals about fifteen minutes. With your fingertip, you gently depress the pins for the 'on' time, and leave them in the up position of the 'off' times. There's a master switch on the left if you want to turn the lamp on, and it has a small red on/off indicator light.
If I had any complaints at all, it is that this came in one of those irritating heat-sealed plastic clamshell packages, the ones that have been responsible for "wrap rage" as identified by Wikipedia. And I'm not alone, as in 2006, Consumer Reports magazine recognized the wrap rage phenomenon when it created the Oyster Awards for the products with the hardest-to-open packaging. I wish that Sylvania would join Amazon's Frustration-Free Packaging initiative. OK, enough on my "wrap rage" rant.
It's curious that the Product Features list this with a 1-year warranty, yet the Product Description (from the manufacturer) says that it has a lifetime warranty, and repeats it in another paragraph. Go figure.
Bottom line: this Sylvania Table Top Lamp Timer does its job and does it quietly and efficiently. It's very easy to set it up once you've removed it from that abominable package. Highly recommended.

Even without an owner's manual, anyone should be able to get this timer up and running in no time. It looks great in my house, which has a very eclectic interior. The quality of the construction is very good and the glass is really pretty in person. It is actually iridescent. The lamp itself is beautiful and attractive. On appearance and quality, I would give it five stars. The one star downgrade comes because assembly was not easy and the lousy instructions (mostly a diagram) didn't help. Now how difficult can it be to stick a shade on top of a lamp? Easy, right? Well, no. There was no way to screw the finial onto the top without leaving an obvious gap of about one-eighth inch. I'm convinced that Quoizel failed to include a spacing washer of some type. I finally used a couple of my own washers to raise the shade enough so that the finial screwed down tightly. I love this lamp....however, there were no instructions included in the package. Normally, no big deal but there were maybe 6-7 assorted bolts/washers and it turned into a trial and error project to see which sequence fit best. This was complicated by the fact that the bolt didn't seem to be 'threaded' quite right. It had a rough spot that prevented easy marriage of the asst bolts.....In the end, something that should have taken 10 minutes tops took me about a half hour so no real big deal....Definitely worth the purchase in the end!Tuesday, July 15, 2014
Review of Ikea Alang Floor Lamp , Nickel Plated, White
An IKEA product that is not available in Crazy California any more. Several reasons that I love this lamp...Great glowing light in a room (I use a low watt bulb and an IKEA dimmer)...Height adjustment...easy to install and clean. I like the top of the shade to be at 53" and very few lamps do that. Most the height adjustables are Goose-neck...no thanks. Almost all conventional lamps are very tall and designed for being reading lamps behind a chair, and I don't want tables and table lamps in my Living room...one more thing to take care of and clean. I like the simple modern look of this lamp. I have one in every empty corner of my Living Room and Dining Room, and it gives a clean, uncomplicated look, plus beautiful light all over the rooms.

Review of Sylvania SA135 10 Amp Table-Top Timer with Motion Sensor and Alarm
any good digital lamp timer is going to cost around $20,
so to get this motion detection logic is a great bonus.
you can plug a 2-prong device into the base unit itself,
not the end of the 6' cord, and the flip up panel that
covers the setting buttons doubles as an on/off switch.
this unit is heavy duty not the plastic crap you often
see imported and sold on ebay. the motion detection
works reliably, both in terms of distance and no false.
my few issues with this unit;
1. the minimum duration you can set the motion system
to keep your item on when triggered is 1-30 whole minutes.
I wish the minimum was measured in seconds, not minutes.
2. while the motion system can be on for only 1 minute,
the built in alarm does not work down to a minute, rather
it requires resetting once tripped. oddly, the instructions
describe it as being able to reduce it's duration, but the
sheet that comes with this unit was poorly translated, so
it's possible they wrote it incorrectly.
3. digital alarm is 24 hour, not 24/7 hour(no day of week).
low alarm volume is like a typical clock radio alarm
high alarm is like a weak smoke detector buzzer.
so for you are getting a great digital timer,
with useful motion activation and alarm features,
but I worry many won't be able to apply it the way
they may have intented.
The manual On/Off by pressing the cover is very neat. This function has a minor quirk it does not react to a quick press or tap (the same for the underlying On/Off switch)you have to hold it down for a fraction of a second to activate the outlet On/Off. Once you realize this it is not an issue.
The unit is quite small and a very nice design. Buttons are well laid out, though reading the manual is necessary to set it up first time. I would prefer the timed outlet plug socket be placed at the end of the power cord (using a three wire cord) rather than built in to the back of the unit requiring a second cord coming to the unit. The battery backup is simple to install being in a little drawer on the side of the unit. It has a lot of functionality for the price, including the motion detection which works well.
Also, it does not have an extra untimed outlet as stated on amazon.

I find this device an excellent bedside alarm I prefer to wake to lights and radio rather than an alarm. Having +/keys it is easy to set alarm times and having two independent programs allow you to preset weekends, say, for a different time. I bought two of these. One of these stopped working after aproxamately 15 minutes of operation. The clock display showed segments lit up incorrectly, the manual on off button no longer worked and the motion sensor stopped working. I didn't bother trying the second one. Mabey I just got a bad one but I won't try this product again. Cheap Plants VS zombies 2 Sun Flower LED lamp USB rechargeable LED night
So I got this lamp as a gift cause I love PvZ and happened to need a little lamp that didn't take up much space on my desk. I got the last brown one in stock, which is more clay-colored but just like it looks in the photo. It is a small lamp, only about 7" high at its tallest setting, and about 5" normally adjusted. It looks just like it does in the photo, and the only thing I don't like appearance-wise is the cheap felt cloth on the top of the pot. It would be nice if it looked like dirt, but instead picks up white lint like crazy and after one day it has lots of little specks on it. Not a deal breaker, since you can't see it unless you're looking closely.
One real problem is mine came with a single dead LED nearest the hinge. At first I thought it might be reserved for a separate use like a charging status light or similar but both the pictures and the box both show it illuminated like the others. If there were 2 I'd probably return it, but it's very bright even without it. It's max brightness is very, very bright. Too bright to look at directly, like an intense LED flashlight. It does dim quite significantly, to an almost-off dim that you could barely read by even in pitch black, to a nice soft reading mode, to a normal working light, and ultra bright. It dims smoothly from 10-100% brightness, not in steps or levels. You can basically adjust it to any level you need, as well as bend, twist, and rotate it.
A second problem is it started to develop a pulsing or flashing basically at random. It seems to happen most at full brightness, but even turning it down halfway or almost off does not always work. This gets quite annoying after a while. It is only my first day with it, but if it continues for a few days after fully recharging and using it a few times, I might consider returning it.
My final nit-pick is that it's impossible to tell how charged up it is, or when it's charging at all. I suppose it's either on, off, or kinda-dim. I don't have enough time experience with it yet, but I don't like not knowing if it's even charging. It does seem like it will be handy in a power outage, as it's plenty bright and very portable with no external battery and a simple USB cord. I am unsure what type/size power plug is on the opposite end of the USB cord, and there is zero paperwork or manuals included in the box.
Shipping was also estimated at nearly two months when it was ordered. It really only took a little over a week or so. It quite obviously came from China, as the description on Amazon and on the lamp box itself are in very broken English. My favorite line from the box is, and I quote, "Touch switch, touch the switch ,the light will grow brighter and brighter or darker and darker." Yes, even the comma is in the wrong place! Overall, after examining the packaging, I'm not sure the lamp is actually Popcap-approved PvZ merch. The box title is simply Sunflower Lamp. The lamp itself is quite accurate to an in-game sunflower, but the box features very anime-styled pea shooters and a young girl pointing in the direction of the off-box zombies. She has a cactus-Pokemon behind her. It is literally identical a Digi/Pokemon cactus. I realize there is a cactus in the game, but for some reason this just isn't quite the same. It (the cactus) also has it's eyes closed as if it's sleeping. Quite humorous overall.

This is the best desk lamp I have owned.
I was cautious about purchasing this lamp because I called the manfacturer and asked one of the customer service people if the lamp swivels about the base. He told me no it doesn't. I Read some of the reviews and was concerned by one reviewer's extremely negative comments.
I continued searching for a lamp by any other manufacturer that would meet my requirements but kept coming back to this lamp.
I decided give this lamp a try because I knew if was not satisfied with it I could return it to Amazon without any problems.
I received it in 3 days and I'm very pleased with this lamp. The lamp is well made and it does swivel about its base plate. The combination On/Off switch and brightness control is very smooth.
I would definitely recommend this lamp. I have owned several contemporary lamps and this is the best.

Actually had an existing of model of this lamp. It was so good I wanted another one. Found on Amazon easily. Great price fast delivery. Exactly the same as my previous one. Recommend lamp. This was for the office. I would have rather had an on off switch. This was a dimmer on and off. You can't just pull it down or up, it must be screwed into the position you want. I bought this lamp years ago from like OfficeMax or Staples or somewhere. I still have it--it looks great and works like a champ. My wife was looking for one and came across this listing on Amazon for the same lamp. Problem is, I paid about $25 for this lamp and it's now selling for $100, which is completely outrageous. I don't know why the dimmable desk lamp market has all but dried up (at least sub $100) but it's too bad that this lamp is so expensive now.Monday, January 20, 2014

I work second shift and part of that is Sundays. When I am at work on Sunday many times the floor lights will go out since its one of those motion sensing systems, and there is no one around but me to activate it. I needed a lamp at my desk. I liked the stile of this one and the fact that you can run it directly from the computer USB. Its a pretty simple LED lamp. You close it to turn it off and open it to turn it on and perfect for my needs. You can also run it on standard AA batteries.
One star off for a really minor nit pick.
Its made and stocked by a Chinese company. Its not stocked in the US, so it takes 2 to 3 weeks for delivery.
I actually bought 2, one for home as well.

Vase Table Lamp Reviews
I purchased 2 of these lamps under the name Earth Fair on Amazon.
Later, I learned this product comes from the company named "East Enterprise"
The product description says the shade comes in White or Cream color. However, there is not a choice to be made at the end of check out process. I got the cream color when I received the lamps in 14 days. I don't mind but not sure how can a buyer get the white shade.
The lamps were very well packaged. However, one of the base is broken after opening. The broken pieces were still inside the wrapping material. I suspect, the damage occurred long ago. No one inspected item before shipping it to the buyer. I am just unlucky. A month later, I eventually got a replacement.
I rate two star because of the quality of the product.
I like porcelain, but this product was cheaply made in China. Mass production. Poor workmanship. Americans pay the high price.
I bought two lamps. One is 1 inch taller than the other. One is dark blue. The other is light blue. Now, I have to live with difference.
The lamp base looks like wood but it is made of plastic. A $40-dollar lamp base in Walmart is made of wood. You get my point. I carefully inspected both lamps. Because I have two of them to compare, I learned that one lamp missing a washer at the base. The other one does not have the foam cushion between the plastic base and the porcelain bottle. This indicates poor quality inspection at the assembly line in China.
Please do not be discouraged reading my product review. I just provide you with facts.
You should still take your chances. Life is full of surprises.The lamps look great with my dark brown leather couch. The only problem with putting them together was getting the harp on. Needed a stronger hand than I have. Great company to do business with.
