Discount Traditional Taupe Ribbed Urn Table Lamp
The finish was a little more of a light tan than the dark brown/bronze that was pictured, but it was actually a perfect match for my room. The base of the light twist around the top of the lamp, not sure if this was a broken unit or if they're all manufactured that way. Pleased with the appearance. Make sure to get a 3-way bulb to make full use of the lamp.

This floor lamp met our demands for use and aesthetics in every way. Just be aware that the shade, by its nature and style, does not fit as a fabric and metal rib shade would. These lamps had to be completely assembled and the shades were really cheap looking...I returned this product on the next day. The lamp bases are sturdy and a nice color. The shades were difficult to put together until we figured out the correct way to put them together. We purchased this product because of the pictures/looks on Amazon and overall pricing of the lamps. The lamp itself has a nice weight to it...it feels very solid but the lamp shades have to be assembled and really cheapen the overall quality of what would be a very nice collection. Discount Sylvania SA105 15 Amp Table Top Lamp Timer
My previous lamp timer was digital and I was able to set on/off times for every day of the week. The problem was it was so complicated that it took 15 minutes to change the program. This mechanical timer is so easy pull the tab up, light goes off. Push tab down, light goes on. Spin the dial and set the time of day.
Here are some innovative designs the timer sits on a table so there's no crawling around on the floor to turn the light on. There's a bypass switch and indicator light for manual control and to tell you if the lamp isn't on because the bulb is burned out. It's rated at 15 amps. With this much juice I'm using it to turn on my coffee pot in the morning. Turn any coffee maker into an automatic coffee maker.
Here's the stuff which keeps it from being a perfect design the switched outlet is on the back of the unit rather than on the cord. You would think they'd put the timed outlet at the wall socket and give you an unswitched outlet on the table top? I thought it was backwards, but then again the coffee pot cord is so short it's perfect for me. And, the so-called "decorative protective cover" which "complements any decor while protecting your settings." Yea... ok, it's a nice design but it has the word SYLVANIA in large blazing capital letters on the cover which is not shown in the photo. Functional? Yes. Decorative? No.
Conclusion: It's a great high-quality timer.
Here's the issue: I tried one of the good, old fashioned timers like this one, the same kind that many of us have used over the years to turn lights on and off, for use with Christmas trees, and such. In this case, however, the timer had to be placed in an out-of-the way socket, and even that was OK. But timers like this have little red and green plastic tripper clips, the red one for off, and the green one for on. Loose one of these clips and it makes the timer as useful as a brick... it sits there and does nothing. And that's what happened to me one of the little plastic tripper clips was lost behind the furniture somewhere.
A trip to the hardware store resulted in being told that the clips were not in stock; further checking resulted in being informed that the little clips were backordered... but, I was shown a small electronic timer that was "much better" than the "old fashioned kind" as it had no mechanical parts, and since it was on a "special sale" the new, state-of-the-art electronic timer cost little more than the little red and green clips. So I bought it.
Long story to short, that was my second mistake. About the third day that it was plugged in, the unit made a strange high-pitched humming sound. I pulled the furniture out of the way to check it, and watched its little digital LCD display flicker, and a small puff of smoke rose from the unit. Right there in front of my eyes, it died. So back to the store it went for a refund.
Came back home and went online to Amazon to see what was offered, and that's how I ended up with this Sylvania Table Top Lamp Timer. It looks like a rectangular clam with rounded corners, but it works... quietly and efficiently. This timer has no removable clips or pegs that can get lost. It takes just a few seconds to push the pegs in at the times that you want the light to turn on and it does just that. There are 48 of the little grey pins, so each one equals about fifteen minutes. With your fingertip, you gently depress the pins for the 'on' time, and leave them in the up position of the 'off' times. There's a master switch on the left if you want to turn the lamp on, and it has a small red on/off indicator light.
If I had any complaints at all, it is that this came in one of those irritating heat-sealed plastic clamshell packages, the ones that have been responsible for "wrap rage" as identified by Wikipedia. And I'm not alone, as in 2006, Consumer Reports magazine recognized the wrap rage phenomenon when it created the Oyster Awards for the products with the hardest-to-open packaging. I wish that Sylvania would join Amazon's Frustration-Free Packaging initiative. OK, enough on my "wrap rage" rant.
It's curious that the Product Features list this with a 1-year warranty, yet the Product Description (from the manufacturer) says that it has a lifetime warranty, and repeats it in another paragraph. Go figure.
Bottom line: this Sylvania Table Top Lamp Timer does its job and does it quietly and efficiently. It's very easy to set it up once you've removed it from that abominable package. Highly recommended.

Even without an owner's manual, anyone should be able to get this timer up and running in no time. The lamp is about the span of a small dinner plate, larger than I had anticipated. I was pleasantly surprised. Set-up requires little more than a table & an outlet. The squiggle glass gives this lamp more visual appeal, and the plastic base and cap fit snugly and don't require hot pads to protect what it's sitting on. The wax and water colors are visibly different. We got the blue and green lamp, as we had ordered, and it arrived with the wax balled tightly and the light bulb broken. A REPLACEMENT BULB IS HARD TO FIND. You need a 30w 120v reflector with an intermediate base. We tried a 25w bulb, and the wax barely moved. These fixtures are very nice and well made. I have three installed for about 18 months now. Two over the island and one over the breakfast table.
The island gets satisfactory light but not fantastic bright light which is sometimes needed for detailed tasks. The breakfast table which is 32" square has one fixture 28" over the table (58" above floor) and the table is simply too dark except for a romantic situation. Hard to see the detail of the food.

These ice pendant lights are the definition of cool. Emitting an ambience with their warm glow above our kitchen island they provide a nice conversation piece for our guests during parties and get-to-gethers. I purchased these lights to go over my kitchen island. They arrived very quickly and look great, however, I didn't realize that the length of the wire is not covered by metal, it is only the black wire. Review of Mah Jong Tiles Encased in Wood Table Lamp
Love this lamp; in fact, I just ordered a second one. The inlaid mah jong tiles have a very nice antique look and the wood craftsmanship is solid. It arrived quickly and I even received a personalized e-mail from the seller (Lamp Store); nice touch via a huge site like Amazon.

This is almost a great lamp -but missed the mark. The base was not property attached to the column; even more problematic was the poor packaging which resulted in damage during shipment. It's a shame, because the lamp is really clever and potentially a great accent. But the customer service was phenomenal: prompt, courteous, efficient. Cheap Sylvania 72228 Monavi LED Task Lamp, White Finish
This lamp provides good lighting for tasks such as reading, but has some drawbacks.
PROS:
Controlled by a single touch-sensitive button surface that has no moving parts. Tap once to turn on at full brightness, tap again once or twice for successively lower light levels, a fourth time to turn off.
Light level is very good for spot use. I find it a perfect reading lamp when properly positioned.
Look and feel is not quite as cheesy as some low-end desk lamps/reading lamps.
CONS:
The bulb does not appear to be replaceable. There is no obvious way to do it built into the lamp, and no reference to bulb replacement in the directions. I was also unable to find a replacement lamp on line during a (short) search. When the bulb burns out, this lamp will become landfill. Most LED bulbs claim to have lifetime ratings in the 10,000 to 30,000 hour range, but of the LED bulbs I acquired for use throughout my house over the last year or two, at least three have burned out very early in life. This lamp is made in China, so your mileage may vary.
The lamp angle is adjustable in two places--the joint between the base and the arm, and the joint between the arm and the head. The bad news is that both of these joints require an Allen wrench (supplied) to tighten, which means that once you set it up the way you need it, a tool is required to readjust it later. Small knurled nuts or knobs would have been better.
Price is too high compared to a standard reading lamp, given that this lamp's lifetime is limited to the bulb life.
CONCLUSION
Give this one a pass. Buy a conventional desk lamp or reading lamp that accepts a standard incandescent bulb and has features you like, then use a screw-in LED bulb in place of the regular one. Less money, longer life.

I was not aware this lamp had 3 light levels. My last light was only 18 inches tall. This one is 20. the light also tilts in a variety of directions. My previous one was stationary except the lens. The vendor stated that this had "crisp white light". The light is dim yellow and not bright enough for my studying. Had to pull the old light out of the closet. I will be returning this "light" light.
