Got my lamp just in 2 days from the U.S. (i live in canada). The lamp is of very good quality, the neck is flexible and the base is heavy enough so the lamp doesn't flip when the neck is turned. The light is very bright and cool.

Overall i am very happy with the purchase. love my lamp.

The lamp was smaller than I thought. If you only need white LED light in a small spot/area, it will do the work but if you are thinking of lighting in a broader space, not the right one.

I have been using this expensive halogen lamp at work that is so inflexible and the way it is designed took up so much space, plus you couldn't bend it to point directly on the document reader unless you wanted to deal with glare off the monitor--it's the standard desk light they distribute in this company. So, I bought this gooseneck lamp, it just arrived a few minutes ago, and already it is far better then my old lamp. The end of the lamp where the bulb is is a bit heavy, not sure how the flexible gooseneck will hold up over a long haul but so far, it's doing well. The light is that blue-bright light (like some of the high-end car headlights) so it illuminates extremely well and I can point the light beam directly on the thing I need it on. I'm very pleased and I'm taking my lamp with me when I no longer work here.

* The brushed nickel finish is classy-looking and nice

* It doesn't take up a lot of room on a desktop (small footprint)

* The on/off switch is easy to locate right in the front of the lamp

* The neck is flexible and adjustable so you can arrange the light how you would like

CONS:

* The lamp gives off very very bright white light -harsh almost. It isn't a "cozy glow" but rather feels a bit like you are working in an operating room under stark white lights. This might be good for some people but I found it a bit off-putting and almost too much. Even when adjusting the neck to make the light a bit less intense, there wasn't much I could do to lessen it. It also caused a bit of a glare on my son's laminate desktop, which was a bit distracting

* I've read that you cannot replace the lightbulb if/when it burns out. This is a major drawback and that alone would prevent me from buying this light (especially with a $40+ price tag).

In the end, I can't recommend this light due to the short shelf life of the product. The inability to replace the bulb is a major problem and cannot be overlooked. So, despite an attractive appearance, I'd have to give this lamp a rating of 2 stars.

Cheap Park Madison Lighting PMD-3501-31 20-1/2-Inch Tall Halogen Desk

I bought this as a replacement for a similar halogen lamp that I keep on my nightstand after that lamp went out on me the ballast shorted out in a storm. I had looked for quite a while to find a replacement and went to several bricks and mortar stores (Ikea, Target, Staples, Office Depot, etc). They were either outrageously expensive, or outrageously poor quality. It seems that lamps at the lower price range are now nearly all LED-based, which I find doesn't produce as much light as a halogen bulb. So I was happily surprised when I came across this one at Amazon. The gooseneck arm is about 18" plenty long enough to turn it in whatever direction I need. A rocker switch in the base turns it on/off much more convenient than a switch on the cord. Lastly, it is very bright, and puts out a good guality light. It is everything I wanted, at a price that couldn't be beat($20!).

I bought 2 of these, one for my wife to take to work and one for me at home. Neither of them lasted a week. Amazon is refunding us, but we have to ship them both back, and it's a bit of a hassle. Total garbage, DO NOT BUY THESE!

Had a certain amount of trepidation over ordering this lamp, though not simply based because on the negative reviews. Having owned what I considered to be the perfect lamp for over 20 years, when it finally died, had my doubts that anything would please me, since unrealistically I wanted the exact same item. :P

It seems these lower end halogen desk lamps are going the way of the dinosaur and LED lamps are becoming the norm. The shops I visited didn't have any halogen lamps in my price range, so I decided to purchase one of the LED desk lamps. It was no where near as bright and after finding it was unsuitable for my needs, I returned it. That's when I headed for Amazon and eventually found this gem.

I've been using it daily for nearly a month and haven't experienced any problems. The base is very stable, the neck has excellent flexibility and the brightness is exactly what I need.

Perhaps some of the negative views are based on the length of time it's been kept it on? In my opinion, halogen lighting is only suited for intermittent usage because they burn so hot. While I do use it to view documents while at my desk, I normally don't need to keep it on for more than an hour at a time. I'd definitely get a different kind of lamp if I wanted to kick back for a few hours and read a book.

So, if someone is needing a lamp that can be left on for hours at a time, I believe it would be advantageous to buy something else. It might be one of the reasons so many folks are having difficulty with bulb burnout. Then again, I've only been using the thing for a month, so if I do experience problems down the road, I'll definitely come back to revise my review.

I had one of these lamps before until it was accidentally knocked over and broken. Looked at many other desk lamps locally, but most of the lamps I looked at were clunky and not very bright. Decided to check Amazon and was thrilled to find the very same model I had once owned--and at a far more reasonable price than any other lamp of this class. I recommend this lamp because it has a compact size, nice styling, an attractive color and finish, and a nice heavy base. It is also brighter than any other desk lamp I have looked it. I have half a mind to buy another one just so I always have a replacement on hand. Absolutely one of the best things I own. I am an avid reader, so bright white light is a must!

These are used a good bit for mixing coolants in PC water cooling. As listed here it is not where near worth this much. Can get in UK for around $25 plus shipping. Haven't found thing anywhere state side except for this over priced listing.

This lamp really deserves 4.5 stars. I bought this lamp and its matching floor lamp from Lamps USA for use in my living room and absolutely love them. There is minor assembly required. The floor lamp went together perfectly, but the table lamp has one post that leans slightly near the top. I have been unable to adjust it. Hence the 4 stars, rather than 5. That is my only complaint. The table lamp has a dimmer switch on the cord, and the floor lamp has a dimmer switch (2.5"w X 4"long by just under an inch high) that can sit on a table. I have 40 watt bulbs in both lamps and the light can be adjusted from almost candle-like to very bright. I rarely use the brightest setting. Both lamps are well made and even more attractive in a room setting than pictured.

This is a beautiful lamp but it is advertised incorrectly. It states it has a dimmer switch on the cord but it is actually a dial on the base of the lamp that allows you to only have 3 settings. I have seen the lamp with the dimmer switch and it is wonderful but apparently they have changed the way this is made. I ordered 3 lamps and all were the same.

I was so excitied to get this Lamp! I love candles and this lamp looks just like a glowing candle. However, when I got the lamp...which I got at a great price ($130.00), I was so VERY disappointed...Not only do you have to assemle it, which is difficult with the amount of cords, the packaging sucked and I ended up having to have my hubby finish it because I was so fustrated! So not worth the money. You are better off going to a furniture store and paying them the 100.00 a get a lamp that is ready to go!

The packaging takes a very long time to unwrap, there are little plastic pieces that some saddistic person jammed into the cord, that takes a brain surgern to get out w/o wreaking the cords, and my personal favorite is that it really looks like a wal-mart slab job-put-together lamp when you get it done...

I will likely return this lamp. Yes, it has a nice look about it. But it is way too cheaply made and lightweight to be even remotely close to it's price. I paid $71 for it, and it feels like something that should cost $17.

On the bright side, it does give decent light and looks cool. But trust me, once you feel it in your hands you will be wondering why it cost so much. The "lamp shade" literally just sits on top of the bottom chrome unit. A slight draft can easily push it off. And get this ... it doesn't even have a button on the lamp to turn it on/off. The "on" button is on the power cord itself. So, when it is dark you need to blindly run your hands down the power cord to locate the "on" button, ARGH!!!

I would be OK with the shortcomings if the lamp cost $30 or less, but not for $71. This is a joke. It will be going back to Amazon shortly.

I needed a light on a counter in my stainless steel kitchen. It isn't in the "work" are, so it doesn't need a lot of light, just a bit to brighten up that side of the kitchen. This fit the bill perfectly. Its clean design goes well in my kitchen and, with the proper bulb, provides just the right amount of background light for the area without being intrusive. I didn't like the curly 60-watt bulb that comes with the lamp. I'll use it somewhere else.

When the small box arrived I couldn't believe 2 fairly large lamps were inside.

I thought I must have ordered smaller lamps than I had thought. However, there

ARE two large lamps in the tiny box. The lamp itself comes in three pieces. They are

all connected by the cord so it's just a matter of screwing them together not a big deal.

The excess cord is wrapped around itself and is difficult to get unwound.

What really surprised me was that the shade has to be assembled. It comes in four pieces and the metal is brass colored (I don't think the description mentioned thisI'd rather have brushed nickel).

I have never assembled a lamp shade before and was a little intimidated by the thought.

I looked over the instructions and figured it out and was able to get them together. Once completed the lamps are large and very nice looking. It took me probably close to an hour to assemble the two lamps and probably another 15 minutes to clean up the mess. The lamps are tightly packed in styrofoam and getting them out of the packing gets small pieces of styrofoam all over the place.

I have a large stained glass hanging lamp over our glass dining table which had to be pulled on by a chain to use. Though it's secure in the ceiling, it still made me very nervous pulling the chain while the heavy glass light swayed over the glass table; so the light was rarely turned on. This remote solved the problem! Now the light is turned on with the push of a button! The only drawback is that any time the power flips/glitches, the light comes on. When our power flips/glitches in the middle of the night, the light remains on until morning.

Lets start with the positives! They look awesome! Very sleek and modern! Other people have mentioned the size...I thought they looked the same size in person as they did in the picture.

Onto the negatives (which weren't bad enough to return them though). The lampshades do sit a little wonky! I discovered this is because the shade sits on the bulb and the bulb doesn't screw in straight! Easy enough fix though! Put a small magnet on the high side and it levels right out! Also they do kind of take in a life of their own...turning on and off by themselves. Slightly annoying! Over all I feel like the positives out weigh the negatives!

This is a terrific table or desk lamp. It is attractive, modern, functional and the brushed steel body is strikingly beautiful. It makes a particularly attractive desk lamp. The frosted glass shade diffuses light very well and is easy on the eyes. My only complaint, and it is a mild one, is that the assembly instructions should be better and the directions as to the kind of light bulbs that can, and cannot, be used in the lamp should be much clearer. This is an all too common kind of complaint. Regardless, I would buy this lamp again and I strongly recommend it to others.
