I was impressed with the communication and the quick shipment, it arrived in time for Christmas.

I was not impressed with the fact that many of the glass panes were chipped and some were a hard fit while putting it together.

My daughter loves the lamp because of the horses and because of the touch feature, which is why I bought it. That made it all worth it and the chips somewhat easily overlooked. It was a gift from Santa so I very well couldn't send it back!

Okay, first you have to know what you are buying. If you are looking for lights that replace common light bulbs, this will not be for you. If you are looking for path lights that are actually bright for path lights, these will please you. The other reviews are not really fair to the product. It's like saying my scooter can't tow my boat and then giving the scooter a rating of 1 star.

These are solar lights for less than $2 a piece. You couldn't buy the solar cell, battery and LED's for that, let alone put together. That is a amazing.

The kit comes with everything you need. They even come with 16 holders so you can double their height if you wish. I might suggest that the first time you use them, throw the batteries into a nicad charger. That way you can really see how well they work and give them a fair review on how well they charge over an entire day of sunlight.

I'm glad I bought these.

This is an updated review. When I first received these lights I was very satisfied. Only about 3 out of 64 were broken on delivery and the rest worked great so for the price they were a bargain. Then after the first month issues started. I noticed in the rain about half filled with water. Upon inspection I noticed there were supposed to be drain holes and in about half the lights they had not been drilled out, so I did that myself. It only took about an hour. Next I noticed several lights stopped lighting at all. So I brought them in and charged the batteries and they lit up fine. However many of them never turned off. Not sure what happened but for some reason the light sensor appeared to go bad so they always though it was dark...well with solar powered batteries that's an issue because they won't stay charged long when running constantly. By October 2012, I bought them in early June 2012, and only 17 out of the 64 I bought are still working, so they don't look like such a good deal any more. A year after purchase I am down to 2 working lights and they only stay on for a few hours, and the plastic has become very brittle. Just touching them is enough to break the lamp off. NOT WORTH THE MONEY.

I am still not sure what the bad reviews mean when they say they are not bright, or don't stay lit very long. In my experience they either worked great, or not at all. When I initially got them, I charged all the batteries in a charger before I noticed they have an on/off switch which had I known I would have let them charge outside for a couple days instead.(I bought 8 sets of 8 lights so took a while to charge all 64 batteries). The on/off switch was well described in the instructions, which being a man, I did not read. After charging them in my cheapo NiCad charger I then reinstalled the batteries, turned the switches to "on" and placed them outside, they ran all night. As to brightness...for Pete's sake! They're accent lights, designed to enhance the appeal of landscaping or provide decorative lighting for a walkway. If you want security lights or lights that light up the area for parties do not get these(of course if you have half a brain and read the description you should already know that) They are sturdy and have not moved after 4 days of rain with some storms giving wind gusts to 50 mph.

I read the reviews and did become a bit leary about the negative comments, but went ahead and purchased them. They arrived safe and sound and in a timely manner. I did as someone suggested turn them on, set them up and give them a day to absorb the sun-light. Since then my sidewalk has been quite illuminated EVERY night.

I suppose I should have realized that for $20 I wasn't getting great lights, but this was worse than that. They are made from very light plastic, have no substance, and 3 of the 8 had the bulbs mangled in packaging and do not work. It's not worth it to me to bother returning them, but maybe I can spare you a mistake!

These lights are not too bright, but work very well. You just have to remember to turn the on switch on, when you buy these. I have read some reviews saying that some of these don;t. So far these work fine, just look for the flip switch under the base of the lamp. Good deal, no regrets

The lamp will not assemble correctly. The spacings for the glass pieces are not correct and the top bolts will not allow the cap piece to fit within them,as they are supposed to do. I'm keeping it because it serves a purpose of a night light by the bed, but I'm not pleased with the assembled quality.

Not much to say here. If 15 bucks is a ok price for you as a little paper shade then go for it. Remember you will have to get an E-12 bulb for this. LED bulbs are 10 bucks, CF are about 4. So add that to the price.

I bought this lamp as a decoration for my dorm room. It looks great but the E12 compatibility can be annoying. I wanted to put a color changing LED bulb in but couldn't find one that worked with the smaller base. I had to modify it a bit to get it to work, and now it looks absolutely incredible!

My bedroom is very glam. Upholstered headboard, mirrored night stands, etc. I was ready to make a purchase of much more substantial lamps. Most of my previous ones came from IKEA. They looked pretty good but were super wobbly and cheap. I was looking at much more pricey lamps, crystal bases and the like. These are perfect. The shades are shiny but when the light is on they are not. They look fabulous. They were packed to perfection. I was hesitant to wait a few weeks to receive them, but it only took 3 weeks. I entertain a fair amount in the summer. To keep airconditioning costs in check I use a fan to circulate the air. That is a problem when burning dinner candles. These are perfect and were packed so well that there was no breakage even though they are pretty fragile.

This is the second product I tried in my garage lanterns and it works perfectly. The other design had the sensor in an arm the stuck out to the side. Since the Lantern is black, it thought that it was always dark and would never turn off. This product has the sensor built into the side and behaves perfectly, just as expected, in the same fixture. I have used 2 of these for our front porch lights for over 3 years and only recently had to replace one. The device uses a photo cell to detect light so if not facing the right way it wont work. If only faced partially in the right direction, it will flicker. Simply loosen the bulb/base a qtr or half a turn or so until it is facing properly. Do this when dark so you know how far to turn the base. Stop when the light is on and steady. Eureka!

Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that I did have one die. But given the price and it lasted 3 yrs, still got my moneys' worth. Thx!

I was very excited about the simplicity of the idea. I purchased two from Home Depot. I mounted one in the porch light and one in the lamp attached outside the garage. I love touch lamps and wanted one that was a little different and nicer looking. I just moved into an apartment that has no overhead lighting and wanted something for my bedroom. I've had touch lamps in the past and one lamp lit the entire room well enough so I only ordered one. The shade on the lamp causes all the light to go down which really limits the lighted area so I'm having to buy another lamp that will provide full room lighting. I do like this lamp though for a bedside lamp that I can use to read with, or if I am in random need of light and don't want to get out of bed.

I purchased this lamp for a bedside reading light in August of 2011. Initially, I had it plugged into a surge-protected power strip, but at any of the two lower-level settings it caused the power strip to buzz. Eventually I ended up just plugging it straight into a wall outlet. At the end of November, one of the bulbs burnt out. For some reason, this also completely disabled the touch functionality of the lamp. I replaced the bulb to see if that was somehow causing the effect, but it still doesn't work properly. Now if I want to turn it off and on, I have to plug it in or pull the plug out of the wall outlet. For the three months it worked, it worked fairly well, but your money would be better spent elsewhere.

Every time I turn on my lights after roughly 10-15 seconds of "warming up" there is quite a substantial flicker. I've grown used to it, but every time I have guests over they always comment on my fluorescent bulbs being "cheap" because they flicker. It's embarrassing that an $8 light bulb has this problem. And it's not just my batch as I bought the same 64161 bulb from multiple places (Brick & Mortar included) as there weren't enough in stock when I ordered.

I needed instant bright light for a stairway in a cold, dark hallway. Regular 23 watt CFL's were too dim for the first minute. By the time they were bright the steps had been traversed. These halogen-cfl lamps are the perfect solution. There is a slight dimming after about one minute when the halogen turns off but it is barely noticable. These lamps are great for locations such as this.

This is my first real lava lamp, and I must say that it has captured my attention and my imagination. Sure, it takes about an hour to warm up to a unique display--as others have mentioned; however, I find THAT aspect very comforting in today's fast-paced, too immediate, too loud, too impatient, too now-oriented society. I've had this color and base for over 5 years and I love it. Once the wax warms up enough to rise, it captures your attention whenever you walk into the room. It's a lovely natural blue/green combination but bright and cheerful.

The frequent bulb replacements (about once every 2 months) are annoying but worth the effect. My only complaint is that the wax has lost weight over the years (whereas I have done the opposite) and now it floats at the top.

Mine did nothing when I first got it. The blue blob just sat at the bottom of the bottle. I shook it once and turned the light off for an hour. After an hour I switched it back on again and was rewarded with the COOLEST show of liquid motion ever! At first the wax stretched towards the top of the glass and after two hours...the neat little balls started forming.

I am hooked on this little relaxation device now. I could stare at those globules stretching, twisting, balling-up and colliding with each other ALL DAY now! Its really more soothing than a fish tank, and works PERFECT with relaxing music. It is a great conversation piece and therapeutic...all wrapped up in one cool, retro looking lamp!

I suggest hooking a timer to it and scheduling it to work while you sleep. The lamp seems to work much better when it cycles between OFF/ON periodically. The lamp MUST cool down every 6-8 hours...or else you'll see nothing but a lazy, round blob sitting at the bottom of the glass. Don't buy it for the illumination...get it because it definitely will UNSTRESS YOU.

Our first lamp from this company did not work, it just sat as a blob in the bottom. However, the company, Lamps Plus sent a new one that works great. You MUST put these lamps on a timer or they will over-heat or not be warmed up in time for bed. My 8 year loves his lamp in his room as he goes to sleep.

The time-frame for these to arrive was really long (because I was expecting them with anxiety), and once they arrive I spend a considerable amount of time assembling them (because of my long nails)but overall: I love them! I just hope they last long enough. I bought this lamp for the work space where I do nail art. The fact that it is freestanding is great, as a clamp-on would not work for me. The magnifying lens is made of plastic and is a disappointment. I may use it occasionally but not very often. As for this daylight quality of the bulb, I don't really get it. To my perception, it makes colors look kind of unnatural. Better than fluorescent light, though. The storage compartment on the base could be handy, but the top part does not fit very snugly and is very easy to knock off....not a good thing if you have stuff sitting on it. The adjustable arm of the lamp gives you a decent amount of flexibility in placement of the light, so that's a plus. The bulb gets warm when it's on for a while but not so hot that you would worry about the housing melting. This lamp is usable but if you are looking for something mainly for a good magnifier, spend a little more.

This is just the lamp I have been looking for. It fits just right on my creafts table and I am able to use the Magnifer for my crafts that I need to have close work. The lamp and Magnifer are easy to move into place. Easy to put together.
