Shipping was quick. Both lamps came in 1 box and needed to be put together but it was not difficult, tool all of 5 minutes. Lamps came with 2 CLF light bulbs, nice perk. The lamps really are beautiful, solid and look pricey. The shade is a shimmery light silky gold and the light output is lovely, bright yet warm. They added a finished look to our guest house. After looking online on Amazon and other sites, I'm really happy I went with Amazon and this purchase!

Very pretty lamps and very heavy, which was what I was looking for. Lamp shades are a little darker color than in the picture, but that actually is a good thing. Very sturdy and have that "old world" charm.

A very bright light, though a little too focused for a reading lamp. Also serves as a handy task lamp--I use it to examine rocks, minerals, and fossils. One of the big advantages of this model is that it uses AA instead of expensive button batteries, and it will run off of USB power.

The picture of the lamp (as shown above) did not have a plug attached and is very small. The lamp I saw at a friend's houise was larger and brighter and did not have a plug. Very disappointed

Best Deals for Desktop LED Reading Lamp

The lamp is really bright for such a small size (a foot tall with a 4 inch lamphead). It was a compartment for batteries so it doesn't have to be plugged into a USB; it uses 3 AAA's. The base and head are both pretty light-weight and almost seem flimsy (batteries in the base might fix this problem) be I haven't had any problems with durability yet, it can just be a bit wobbly.

Beware ! Batteries are NOT included, although the packaging in which the lamp is shipped clearly states, "INCLUDES 3 X 1.5V AA' BATTERIES."

I confess to being suspicious because because the shipping weight listed in the catalog is only 5 oz (3 'AA' batteries weigh about 3 oz.), so I was not surprised.

Also, the + and ends in the battery compartment of the lamp are not clearly marked.

HOWEVER, it is light-weight and bright, and is exactly what I need for traveling.

With it being a smaller lamp, I use it as an accent piece in my living room and it does look great...almost a focal point of the room. Cheap Park Madison Lighting PMT-2001-31 20-Inch Tall Contemporary Touch

I wanted something that would go with the rustic and old fashioned look of my cabin, and this inexpensive little lamp fit the bill very nicely, even though it would aslo work well in a modern setting. It is a good size (20 inches) and has three lightness settings that don't require a switch, just a tap on the metal. I did have a little bit of trouble screwing the finial top down and gave up and let part of the threading show, but it really isn't that noticeable. Not a fancy lamp, but sleek and fairly durable seeming. Takes a small size bulb with average sized base fitting and came included with one. At the brightest setting it is light enough for reading and the dimmest is like a soft night light. There is an in between setting as well, which is the one I like for ambience.

They work fine but hood is just thin metal. If it ever hits the floor, it'll dent. It does have a good, solid, heavy base, so that shouldn't happen. It only allows for a 40-watt bulb which is not enough light to read.

The four touch switch doesn't work well. The bulb blinks continuously at low and medium lighting. I need to put it on high to keep it from blinking. I tried buying a 3-way bulb and it blinked as well. Maybe it's just a malfunction with my particular unit.

This is a great product. The sound is surprisingly good for the size and having the remote to control the ipod is very useful, since you can't from the base. Only sound, power, and light on/off control is on the lamp itself. The bass enhancement is a one-press button that does very little, but that's to be expected from a unit this small.(5watts total output) The base support is solid unlike the cheaper iHL10, but it came out of the box a little loose, so I had to tighten the large flathead screw to keep the shaft in the position I preferred. (problem easily solved) Plus, you can also adjust the head to point in any position as well. The halogen bulb shines bright & much better than my traditional lamp.

Lowes had these on clearance with their XMAS items, so I picked it up for $25.00 new! Frankly, I think it's too spendy at $100+ for what you get. With all of its coolness, full controls on the base would have been nice along with a spot to stash the controller, and because of the high street price I'm giving it 4 stars.

I have had my lamp for almost two years now and it has served me wonderfully as a bedside lamp. The only problem I have recently had is that the bulb burned out and I have been unable to find the correct size replacement. When the bulb burns out, your ipod wont play, so the lamp becomes useless. I looked at Lowes, where I bought the lamp, but they did not have the correct size per the manual.....anyone else have this problem and where do I find the replacement bulbs????

The iHome desk lamp/iPod docking station has surprisingly good sound for such compact speakers (much better than the ones in my computer). I have this set up in my office at work and have the added bonus of a halogen light too, which comes in handy for task lighting. Also included is a small remote that allows you to control the iPod as well as the light. It fits all size iPods mine is a classic and fits right in place, but if you have a nano or other size, there are inserts to allow them to fit in place.

With a sleek and contemporary design, it is a bit costly at over $100 but I managed to find it at a discount store for $40, making it an even sweeter deal.

The picture on the website makes it look like the lamp is a deep, hot pink color. In actuality, it is a very very light baby pink color. I needed this to go in a room with a hot pink decor, so it did not work for me, but I did not find this out until I got it. As the other reviewer stated, it is small, but that is in the specs (12" tall).

Well constructed. Except that the rotary switch handle is very long making it difficult to grasp because it almost touches the inside of the shade. It would be easy to grasp if it had faced sideways on the long axis of the shade. In any case, its length caused the thin switch stem to bend after a few uses.

I solved both problems and made the lamp dimmable by adding a good quality, but inexpensive, dimmer inside the base. The dimmer (Westek 00182 6077B Light Fixture Dimmer) is available from Amazon.

My wife purchased this IKEA lamp in Beijing a few years ago, and it provides a warm presence in our living room. The braided bamboo shade produces glowing light designs on the wall. Although a bulb of 75 watts can be used, this lamp is not really intended to be used as a main room light. The lamp is extremely lightweight and could easily be damaged if it was knocked down. The small base is a metallic gray, and the nearly eight foot cord is black. The switch is on the cord and is seven inches (18 centimeters) away from the base of the lamp. The lamp is approximately 16 inches in height. I do not think the lamp is worth $60 (I do not recall what we paid for it), but it is a good-lookin' and dependable lamp.

In appearance, this floor lamp is tall, visually impressive, and, in its way, rather magnificent. The brass (or brass plating?) has a subdued glow and the shade--whose color I would call a light tan--is attractive. Functionally, the base is wide and heavy, so the lamp should be stable in normal use. The swing arm works smoothly and the three-way light is effective. Assembly is pretty simple.

But the quality of the lamp isn't so careful as the picture suggests and as one might expect for the price. Specifically, on my sample, one of the spindles that ornaments the top of the column is flattened on two sides, when it should be round. I assume this is due to a lapse in craftsmanship on the part of the Chinese factory that made the lamp. Or could it be intentional--a little "distressing" to mimic the look of "antique" brass? Either way, I don't like this "feature" and was tempted to return the lamp for exchange because of it. However, in the end I decided to keep it. After all, my sample could be better than what would be sent in its place.

Notwithstanding any flaws, this review is generally positive. Overall the lamp looks very good, although less refined than in the picture. And--perhaps most importantly--my spouse is happy with it.

It is really cute and it has a very bright light so I can see very easily in the dark. I also love that it is bejeweled because I really like sparkly stuff so that is a plus!! It can bend in each different direction so that works out good, this would be a good present to a girl that really likes to read.
