This lamp does everything a lamp should do. It is bright, but not glaringly so. I am a college student so I spend hours at my desk reading and working on the computer. This lamp has been perfect for that. It has three brightness settings, which are nice, but they are not really that different. The construction seems solid: the parts move smoothly and it is nicely weighted. It also doesn't get hot and it's energy efficient, which is a nice plus.

The only gripes I have with this lamp are the price and the size of the base. Why is a decent, basic lamp so expensive?

The base takes up a good amount of room on my tiny desk, but I understand that it's vital for stability.

Overall, a very good lamp.

It's rare for me to recommend a product of any kind but this lamp is of such palpable quality, so versatile, so useable and such an energy saver it would be remiss NOT to recommend it. After reading for hours with it, sometimes hours at one sitting, my eyes do not feel fatigued. Before, with fluorescent bulbs, that could not be done. Ahhh, no flickering, just good, bright light and even at the dimmest setting.

It even has a quality feel and heft to it, not cheap and flimsy. Buy it; you'll like it!

It also fills the rest of the room with a suffused light that provides a lovely, charming, radiant ambiance unmatched by my fluorescent light...given away, by the way.

The longer its in use, the more it appeals to me. All my friends have commented most favourably on it.

Thank you, Prism for a good product, my only regret being that it's made in Korea, not the U. S. of A.

Unlike most inexpensive solar lights on the market today, this one was unique, attractive and NOT MADE OUT OF PLASTIC. It is primarily the same clay material that plant pots are made of, covered with amber tinted glass chips (mosaic). Very little to put together. Just put top on and push button to turn light on. Works very well and gives the garden a charming look at night. I got them on sale, so I consider this an extraordinary value.

I bought this solar table light sight unseen and am very pleased with it. The construction is solid and the mosaics are well crafted yet clearly show hand-made elements which I do like. The solar light just sits on of the glass and does what it's supposed to despite only having one LED in it. You're not going to be reading by this light or be able to use it as a marker to light up an area on your deck. It solely looks nice and pretty sitting on your patio table but offers no real lighting capability. That's to be expected though with this kind of accent light.

I was surprised to see it goes white/clear at night and does not cast an orange glow. This isn't bad I kind of like having two lamps for the price of one, but if you're expecting to highlight areas with orange-like glows on Halloween with this you will be disappointed.

Being able to easily take the solar light off and putting in a real tea candle is a nice addition to this good-valued light.

I have several rechargeable battery/LED type lights on my deck, including 3 of these.

The light unit itself has not lasted very long. I purchased mine in May of 2010; all 3 stopped working within 12-15 months of purchase.

There were several possible reasons they stopped working: corrosion on the battery terminals and/or battery, failure of the rechargeable batteries, failure of the LED, failure of the internal circuitry.

I believe I have eliminated the first two causes: the battery terminals have been cleaned, and I have replaced the batteries with standard 1.2V AA batteries. Still no joy.

Meanwhile, other (older) LED lights are still running perfectly.

If you have a spare solar panel/LED assembly already (fitting an ID of 3.25") in good working order, you may like the soft golden hue of these little glass jars. Otherwise, you may want to spend your money on a more reliable unit.

Item was ok but nothing special. I mistakenly ordered 2 packages instead of 1. The company is very hard to deal with. Basically it took them 15 days to figure out it was ok for me to return my item in the original unopened box!! Then they told me I had to pay for return shipping AND a 30% restocking fee!!! I wanted to replace two large lamps on either side of the overstuffed couch in my den. I ordered these lamps because they are the right height (30 inches) but the website didn't give the dimensions of the base, just the height and the shade dimensions (15 x 15) although I didn't realize that at the time I ordered them. The base is only 6 inches across which meant the scale of the lamps was wrong to sit on either side of my overstuffed couch. HOWEVER, I liked them SO MUCH I found another place in the house to put them (in the sitting area of my master bedroom). The shades are exactly the color they appear to be on the website and they are made of microfiber giving them a nice texture and you definitely can't beat the price.

The picture of the lamp (as shown above) did not have a plug attached and is very small. The lamp I saw at a friend's houise was larger and brighter and did not have a plug. Very disappointed

The lamp is really bright for such a small size (a foot tall with a 4 inch lamphead). It was a compartment for batteries so it doesn't have to be plugged into a USB; it uses 3 AAA's. The base and head are both pretty light-weight and almost seem flimsy (batteries in the base might fix this problem) be I haven't had any problems with durability yet, it can just be a bit wobbly.

Beware ! Batteries are NOT included, although the packaging in which the lamp is shipped clearly states, "INCLUDES 3 X 1.5V AA' BATTERIES."

I confess to being suspicious because because the shipping weight listed in the catalog is only 5 oz (3 'AA' batteries weigh about 3 oz.), so I was not surprised.

Also, the + and ends in the battery compartment of the lamp are not clearly marked.

HOWEVER, it is light-weight and bright, and is exactly what I need for traveling.

My hunter fan came with this type of unusual bulb and I thought I found an easy solution with these bulbs. Unfortunately, these bulbs are at least an inch longer than the bulb I am replacing and don't fit with the fixture I have. These bulbs are hard to find AND they don't last long for some reason. Search Amazon for "GU24 socket adapter" and you can use an adapter to use regular bulbs in your fixture. Right now, it seems bulbarama is the only distributor for these on amazon. They charged a high shipping fee but I bought 2 for my outdoor fixtures and the shipping remained the same.

I got this bulb on January 2011, and it went dark in September! Aren't fluorescent bulbs supposed to outlive their incandescent counterparts? WARNING: New design of MaxLite 18W GU24WW bulbs will not fit some lighting fixtures (I have Acclaim outdoor lighting). MaxLite's 18W bulbs no longer "taper in" at bottom of base (odd because their 13W bulbs still do taper in). It was an "engineering mistake" to say the least. Ask MaxLite and tell them where you heard this (I have the new and old design bulbs --oh, and new ones don't match picture on the box they come in!). Suppose I should just purchase entire new light fixtures? --No way!

I bought two of these and the color is a deep amber graduating to a dusty amethyst. The light glowing through them is just so warm and beautiful! Make sure you check the sizes though, because they do not fit the bedside lamp I bought them for, they are a little big (my own fault for not doing my research). However, I quickly found another lamp to fit these lovelies!

Initially we bought the 19" Conoco CONOCO Piano Lamp Portable 19" LED Piano Lamp, Black w/Brass Accent. That lamp, because of its design, (and the design of our Yamaha C3 music bench) would not illuminate the entire sheet of music from top to bottom unless the shade was adjusted (rotated) out...and then the LEDs shined directly into our eyes. Instead of simply returning the lamp, we called Conoco customer service and found out what a great company this is. After explaining the issue to the tech, he immediately suggested two other solutions for us: a 14" lamp with a gooseneck arm between the lamp and clamp, and this 22" lamp, where the radius of the attachment arms is about twice that of the 19" lamp. We chose this one and can only say "wow!"

Not only is the lamp more suitable because of the attachment arm radius, it also has a height adjustment which we've set to accommodate some of the larger page-size, antique sheet music pieces we use. The light quality and quantity is superb and because of the design of this model, it also illuminates the keyboard, without any light overflow into our eyes. We absolutely, without reservation, recommend this lamp!

One final word about Conoco: not only was the customer service tech helpful in understanding and suggesting solutions to our issue with the first lamp, he went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied. After making the decision to try this lamp, the first question he asked was "how can WE do this?" I suggested going back through Amazon. His comment was that if we needed any additional help, to just call him. Overall, a very satisfying customer experience.

I have been a piano teacher for over 50 years and during that time have tried various types of lighting for my piano studio. With the exception of overhead lighting, which I used in my former studio, the Conoco Lamp which I purchased on the recommendation from one of my student's parents (he had purchased one and was delighted with it) is by far the best lamp I have ever used. This lamp is everything you could want in a piano lamp. It is a great-looking and very well-designed lamp. It will look beautiful on any piano. The light is very even and plentiful without being harsh. The lamp can be adjusted easily to the perfect position on your piano. I actually feel that I have more energy for practicing than before, because I don't have to strain at all to see the music perfectly.

The lamp is definitely worth the price. It appears to be of very high quaility.

One tip -when you clip the lamp onto your music stand for the first time, make sure the metal on the outside doesn't bump your music stand, or it could scratch. Be sure that only the padded part inside the clip touches the piano. This is easy to do; just take your time when installing it.

Item arrivedbut we did not use for a few weeks as we were travelling. By the time we did the window for return was closed otherwise would have returned. Light was extremely dim. And design is flawed in that when you turn upside down to chargethe base is not flat but rounded. Charging worked poorlyfor about a week then gave up the ghostno longer lights even dimly. A complete waste of money. Item is cheaply made and light (when it worked which was very briefly) was less than the dimmest night light. This was a terrible purchase.

I have looked at 100's of lamps, both online and offline, and this one is one of the best, in many respects.

One Note: This is a shorter lamp, so probably not best for a Living Room end table.

Works best as a desk lamp and as a bedside lamp (where it bumps your bedroom up to nice hotel room status!).

Good Things About This Lamp:

1. Excellent classic design sleek black body with chrome accent, nicely balanced black rectangular shade.

2. Good weight so many lamps weigh so little that they tip over with very little provocation.

Not this one nice and sturdy.

3. Black on black one of the few lamps that offers a black body with a black shade.

Bonus: The rectangular shade is the perfect balance to the body; any other shape bell, etc. would not have provided the modern silhouette that this shade does.

4. Very well packaged so well packaged that shade did not have a single dent!

Quite an accomplishment!

5. Very fair price $52. I have paid twice that for inferior lamps.

Good To Know: Lite Source provides many lamps to Target's online store.

Many of those same lamps are available here on Amazon for 20% 25% less (plus free 2-day shipping if you are an Amazon Prime member).

I'm not knocking Target because they are a really good store, but the fact that they have online stores to support and Amazon does not probably accounts for the price difference, so check Amazon first for best price!

I really like these lights. The build quality is great. Very solid and smooth, frosted glass finish. The lights themselves are very yellow, and don't put out much light. They mimic candles very well, with a constant low flickering. I was under the impression you could change the light flickering on and off, however, while I found out you can't, it's really not the problem I thought it might have been as the flickering is very subtle.

The way you turn the lights on and off is either by tipping it to the side and back, or shaking it up and down slightly, works great. Though it would've been cool if you could blow them out. The best use of these lights is probably as night lights. I use them if I get up in the night and need to walk through the house to the kitchen or restroom. Not too much light to wake up other, just enough to help me find my way and not crash into anything.

The batteries last quite a while on a full charge, though I haven't timed them, they seem to last a full day/night when on. Hopefully the LED's and batteries will hold up for a long time, as neither can be replaced. The charging base could have been designed a bit better, it seems like the cheapest part of the set, though it does work great. You simply set the candle lights in each charge circle and it charges, no plugging the lights in or anything wires to deal with other than the single plug for the charge station.

Overall, the light's are a great replacement for actual candles. They put off about the same amount of light as a small candle, they look good, plus you can put these in places you can use traditional candles, as these won't start fires, they don't even get warm.

We have a very windy outdoor balcony, and we love our candles. Has always been a problem lighting candles and keeping them from blowing out. These are a great solution. They look nice, but light is a little orange. Expected a whiter light with the modern styling, but they look nice. The flickering does make them seem more like real flame. Very easy to set up and use. Charge lasts a long time.

Update 1/23/13:

While the lights themselves are still working well and still tend to last about 12 hours per charge, I've noticed that the on/off mechanism is starting to require a more ham-fisted approach. At first I could just tip the candle to turn it on & off, but now it requires multiple attempts or a more violent shake. Still a 4-star purchase in my opinion, but I wanted to update to let you know.

There's not much to say about LED candles, so I'll get right to the pros & cons.

PROs

-Induction charging is great. No exposed contacts is always a good thing.

-The charging base and candles look very nice and should fit in with any decor.

CONs

-The light could be brighter. The fake flames seem to give off about 1/2 the lumens of a real flame.

-The light is a bit too orange.

Overall I feel like I bought the highest quality LED candles available at this price.

We were spending too much time and too much payroll on maintaining wax candles in our restaurant. Still, the tables looked lacking without them. I switched to the OXO Candela Glow, which we happily use at home for dinner parties and nightlights. At the restaurant, the Candela looked static and cheap. I ordered two sets of the Philips Imageo and am delighted. They glow with a flickering flame-yellow the movement makes the dining room look lively, even after the last diner has left for the evening. The frosted glass votive lends a little more elegance than the plastic Candela. I'm ordering another set for the restaurant right away.
