No fumbling in the dark for a switch! I was looking for a nice, modern touch lamp for the bedroom and this did the trick. The shade is an oblong slim shape (think of a banana split dish, upside down) so you can push the lamp all the way to the back of the nightstand and still have plenty of room on the nightstand for other things. The base is reasonably heavy (not sure why it was described as lightweight) so it can't be knocked over and in fact it doesn't move when you touch it. The bulb is a three-way so you touch it once-dim; twice-moderate light; three times-bright! Despite the slim shade the light puts out enough to be used as a reading light while in bed.

If this style appeals, it's very convenient as a bedside lamp. Light output is in the "warm" range with a nice difference between the three brightness settings, and no fumbling to find the "switch"! Base is stabile; no tipping.

I installed a pair of these above of bathroom mirror. They look great and were pretty easy to install. However the sockets in this fixture use Halogen Bulbs and the ones included with the fixture are the cheap ones. Since these lights will not be turned on for long durations the non energy saving bulbs do not bother me much. If you purchase this fixture I would recommend you also purchase these bulbs and install them instead of the ones that come with the fixture... Buy Koyal 12-Inch Paper Lantern
this was the perfect shade of blue I was looking for. I wanted them for my baby's baptism and it really complimented the look of the tents I had them in. Perfect size and pretty sturdy, some kids took them down and started using them as a volleyball and didn't do much damage to them. I could still use them again.

The chandelier arrived without any flaws or cracks from shipment in a carton with molded Styrofoam to the shade interior and exterior configuration. Assembly and installation was easy and I did not require the instructions other than the exploded diagram.
I used 60 watt frosted bulbs and was impressed with the beauty of the soft ambient colors penetrating out from each cut glass piece. I wanted an inverted chandelier shade so glare would not compete with the large screen television in the family room. This worked out perfectly to my expectations for indirect lighting that casts a soft copper hue while watching television in the evenings.

Best Smart Solar Frosted Fretwork Cylinder Solar Lantern Deals

Have been outfitting a 5BR boarding house the past year, including two solar lanterns in each window. This purchase is my third Smart Solar lantern purchase, the other two are square with the dragonfly and scroll patterns.
This lamp isn't nearly as nice as the other two to look at up close. The top and bottom are plastic with a rubbed bronze appearance, same as the others, and that part is just fine. But the plastic cylinder looks chintz. I suppose it is 'frosted,' but looking at it in daylight the patterned cylinder portion of the lantern looks like it's from a promotional 2-liter bottle design. Lit up on the sill of a window facing the street the effect of the patterns is good, and in the middle of a dark room even better as the pattern can be seen on the walls. Also there's a reflective plastic square in the base. The other problem with its appearance (to me) is that you can see there's nothing inside the lantern. By contrast the square table lanterns by Smart Solar have translucent plastic sides for a far superior appearance. With this one you can see through to the other side and the lack of anything inside the lantern makes it look even more like something you might have made with a plastic bottle.
At fifteen dollars delivered it would have been a good deal (for me at least) for me to put something decorative like a candle or some flowers in it and put it on my stoop. But from experience solar lights left outside might as well have a sign on them saying "Steal Me." To finish ripping on the design I'll just add that I tried it out for a few nights on the bottom sill of a floor-to-ceiling window and even from the sidewalk it had an unacceptably cheap appearance.
Quality solar lanterns tend to be expensive, and as they put out a small amount of light for as long as possible the amount of light can disappoint buyers who aren't familiar with the limitations of solar lighting. In Arizona in the Summer lanterns by Smart Solar may well remain on until dawn. Here in Oregon I tend to get three or four hours after dusk, especially in the windows with less than ideal sunlight.
If you're looking for just one solar lantern, and it's going to be displayed where it can be viewed up close you'll likely be disappointed in this product, and by comparison the appearance of Smart Solar's square lanterns is superb. And for the craft-minded, you can put whatever suits your fancy and is weatherproof in it and put it on your porch. And then, who knows, maybe you'll end up in the 'Victims of Solar Lantern Theft' club too!

Review of GE 45602 Z-Wave Technology Lamp Module Dimmer, White

I installed couple of these as a tester before purchasing more. So far it has been working as desired. Here's my feedback and observation so far after a week's use
1. Built and looks are good.
2. One of the outlets is a Z-Wave outlet and another one is always on pass thru
3. Pairing with Z-wave is really simple and takes less than a minute for complex setup and few seconds for a simple remote. If you have a Harmony 890/1000 remote you will be able to use it without any gateway as well.
4. Z-wave outlet let's you Dim the lights including letting you control from your remote or on the module
5. Load Sense feature, which is disabled by default, can be enabled to let you use it without any remote or Z-wave interface. You can simply power-on your Lamp and module will sense the load of the lamp and simply powers it on. This is a good feature case you have a not so technically savvy person at home or have younger kids or even with guests do it the traditional way.
6. It does not seem GE makes it and seems a OEM brand. Other brands are also selling, like homepro, that seems very much alike but I have not used others yet.
7. Can be combined with several scenes to watch TV and dim lights. Before going to bed or leaving the house a single click/buttin will ensure that everything is powered off.
Cons:
1. I really wish that both the outlets were Z-wave
2. Little complex to enable Load Sense
3. Manual is just piece of paper ready to be recycled specifically advanced configuration and commands
4. Tech support is technically challenged and you may feel that you may know more than them. By the time they get back to you may have already resolved the problem just with the help of your own skills or or just by Google.
Other Thoughts:
1. Z-Wave outlet: This is a Lamp Module with Dimmer and should not be used for constant current required devices like an "Air Conditioner" or coffee maker.
2. Does work with Dimmable CFL although at "very low" settings you notice flickering effect but that is no fault of either devices. This is how CFL is supposed to behave (for now)
3. There is a Soft fuse instead of wired traditional fuse good for resets case something goes wrong but I am little skeptical for now.

my husband and I bought the starter kit, a remote, a few extra modules and a thermostat and light switch. He found something that gives us a year free of the Nexia (formerly Schlage link) subscription and it was cheaper than us buying the vera and the individual pieces. After that we are going to be getting a vera bridge because it's basically the same service and you don't have to pay a service fee. It was awesome because he ordered it while he was deployed and turned the light on and off and dimmed it while in Singapore! How cool is that!!! Despite all the warnings and the product manual, I've been using this product successfully with LED bulbs. I've 4 Philips Endura LED (7W, dimmable) bulbs wired to these dimmer modules, and they are working perfectly.

Recently bought a few of these and they dont work. All four in this shipment were labeled Ver 3.0d with Date Code 1243 and have the same issue. When sending the OFF command from the controller, this unit dims a bit then go to full brightness about 80% of the time. This makes them pretty much useless. Had no issues with a previous batch I bought which were all labled Ver 3.0a. Will be following up with Jasco/GE to ensure that I dont get another set from the same defective batch. Plus points for a great product at a good pricepoint. I recently purchased this product so I cannot say anything about the durability of it but it was a hit with my 7 year old right out of the box. it was quick to set up and it only took about an hour to get fully going. The only thing I can say is that the base does get very hot so we have to keep it in a safe place to prevent burns but that hasn't been an issue so far. i had to make a disco themed party and i already had several items placed, but the finishing touch and really helped was the rotating disco ball, it gives a lot of light to the room and atmosphere. perfect for a room that is medium and small sized. if you're giving a party or just have your room themed retro, this is perfect.

When I ordered this my expectation was not really high, but needed it for a party! I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun this was. I did replace the bulb because the included bulb did not work, and I put a 15 watt light in. (Not sure what the included bulb was)We used it in a very large room, and I could have used two of them, but even the one put out a lot of colored light and it was so much fun. I would recommend it.
