I installed a pair of these above of bathroom mirror. They look great and were pretty easy to install. However the sockets in this fixture use Halogen Bulbs and the ones included with the fixture are the cheap ones. Since these lights will not be turned on for long durations the non energy saving bulbs do not bother me much. If you purchase this fixture I would recommend you also purchase these bulbs and install them instead of the ones that come with the fixture... I have been searching for a nice LED lamp to illuminate my late night studies for a while now. I wanted a lamp that was bright, environmentally friendly, and aesthetically pleasing. This lamp was everything I was looking for and much more! The base is heavy and wide enough for stability, yet still small enough to fit on my small desk. The touch sensitive buttons are responsive and gives the lamp some cutting edge technology flavor. The light can be rotated 180 degrees and can be bent at two points. This gives the lamp a lot of room for light angle and height adjustment.

The four light types are an excellent touch. I personally love the reading light for my late night study sessions. It gives you a sense of daytime and helps keep your focus up. The math light is slightly blue and very bright, which is perfect for crunching some numbers or drawing organic chemistry reaction mechanisms. The relaxing light is very warm and gives you a mellow feeling. I also love how you can adjust the light intensity in addition to the light type. This gives the lamp much room for adjustment for those of us who are extra picky about light sensitivity. The 1 hour auto-off (sleep)button is also a nice touch. When the lamp is folded down, you can use the night light mode and it works fairly well.

My only small gripe with this lamp is that it is made out of a hard plastic. While very nice looking and light weight, I would have preferred some sort of metal plating to make it feel its price.

Overall I am very pleased with this lamp and might buy another one in white for my sister's room.

UPDATE: March 13, 2013. This lamp is still working almost 16 months later and I am very happy that I purchased this lamp for my late nights of studying. All the LED's are still functioning and the touch sensitive controls are still working just fine.

This a a review of the Softech Diasonic DL-90 LED Desk Lamp. First off here's a more complete list of it's specs.

The lamp has a base that is about 172mm square. The main arm with the light array is about 350mm long. The supporting arm is about 450mm long with both arms about 42mm wide.

The LED array consists of 27 LEDs in 9 rows spaced approximately 25mm apart. There are 3 LEDs in each row. The center ones are very warm yellow and the two outer rows are intense white, bordering on slightly bluish at their brightest setting. A frosted diffuser protects them from prying fingers and also helps to distribute the light more evenly.

Different color temperature settings can be achieved by varying the intensity of the white and yellow LEDs in different combinations. In Bedtime mode only the yellow LEDs are on producing a very warm yellow light of about 2300K (Kelvin). In Relaxtion mode the yellow LEDs double their brightness compared to the Bedtime mode, but with the white LEDs on as well which results in a brighter, whiter light of about 3300K. Reading mode dims the yellow LEDs slightly and increases the brightness of the white ones producing the type of daylight white one would see on an overcast day at midday, about 5500K. Study mode reduces the output of the yellow LEDs to their lowest brightness while simultaneously increasing the brightness of the white LEDs. This produces the brightest and whitest light. A very intense cool light, bordering on slightly bluish, which looks to me to be about 6500K to 7000K.

The approximate brightness at the lowest setting, about 400mm distance from the lamp, in the various modes is about:

500lux in the Reading mode

600lux in the Study mode

300lux in the Relaxation mode

50lux in the Bedtime mode

The brightness level increases by approximately 150lux for the next two brightness levels and approximately 100lux for the last two levels in all settings. This means that in the Study mode the brightest setting will produce a very bright 1100lux.

The red LED on/off switch is on when the lamp is off and plugged into the wall outlet. It switches off when the lamp is turned on, and blinks on and off once the 60 minute count down timer has been activated.

The main arm can bend only a degree or two backward from its 90° upright position, and about 40° forward. The upper arm which carries the LED array can bend upward about 50° from it's position parallel to the desk it's on. And can bend all the way forward until it's parallel to the supporting arm.

The whole unit can be rotated 90° on its base in either direction from the center position. Unfortunately the main arm with the LEDs cannot be rotated on its axis in order to direct the light either towards or away from you as one can do on the Koncept Light Bar.

In fact my final choice for a decent LED desk lamp boiled down to the Koncept Z-Bar Mini High Power Adjustable LED Desk Lamp Daylight White Illumination Silver and the Softech DL90. I chose the latter due to its greater lighting options, and liked the flexibility of being able to change not only the lamps brightness, but also it's color temperature to suit both my mood and needs.

I love the fact that LEDs consume so little power for the disproportionate amount of light that they produce. While it's true that they are much more directional than both incandescents and CFLs, Diasonic have designed their diffuser well as this results in a 1.5 meter circle of light around the base that is obviously brighter at its center, but still quite usable up to the edges.

As mentioned above, the only negative of this lamp is that the LED array can't be swiveled on its axis. All in all, even with that small negative, I am very happy with my choice and recommend this one very highly to anyone looking for a decent and flexible LED desk lamp.

This lamp has great options for getting exactly the color and intensity of the light you want, but you cannot rotate the bar with the LEDs to point the light towards the page and away from your eyes. You can swing the bar up and down, but you cannot rotate it. This makes it very hard to avoid the harsh glare of the LED bulbs.

Also, a USB port on a lamp is a great idea, but the USB port only provides 0.7 amps, so iPads and smartphones will charge very slowly (the Apple iPad charger is 2.1 amps).

This lamp is great overall! It's very adjustable in terms of shades of lighting and lighting intensity. It also has many positions to place the light in a great spot, with one exception. The arm that houses the LEDs is unable to rotate or swivel in a fashion that allows the user to aim the LEDs away from one's field of vision. In terms of not causing glare on your reading material, it's awesome; but forget worrying about having glare on paper when you have the LEDs themselves lighting up your eyeballs! It's similar to having a lamp without an adequate lamp shade, or walking outside on a sunny day in San Diego without sun glasses. This issue may be resolved by extending the roofing of the LEDs downwards by 1/4" or so, or just allowing the bar of LEDs to swivel away from the user's line of sight.

My suggestion to improve this product: Include an add-on piece to the lamp that extends the roof of either side of the lamp. That way, it would act similarly to using a visor when driving in a car. It doesn't need to be a giant visor, just a piece that can extend the roofing about 1/4" 1/2". This doesn't require redesigning the shape of whole product, just a few notches to slip in the visor.

I have adjusted mine to lean and angle lower than my line of sight, but this is somewhat of an annoyance if I need to use my computer at the same time because the lamp is now obstructing my vision to the computer monitor. If you have a higher sitting desk, or if you're sitting lower than the height of the lamp, the LEDs can be an irritant as they can be intense on the peripheral vision.

Aside from this single gripe (which can be made for almost all lamps), this particular lamp is sleek and the touch control pad is responsive. I enjoy all the different shades and intensities of light and I'm the type to be very picky about lighting. Good lamp.

I'd buy it again (currently $149.99) considering the quality of the lamp and how long it's supposed to last. It is mostly plastic, but that's fine. It's not like I need it to hammer anything it's glossy, sleek, and stable, while most importantly, its main function does a beautiful job of lighting up my study material.

Edit:

After a bit of use, the flaw in this lamp isn't as bad as I made it out to be. Depending on the lamp placement and angle, the position is sufficient for my needs when studying at my desk. Having the lamp set beside my monitor and with the arm pointing towards me, but angled down, the LEDs are blocked from sight and my study material is lit up enough. Although, because of this position, there is some glare along the curve of my textbook. I'll upload a picture to give you a better idea (although the glare is not visible on camera weird!).

I also noticed that after many hours of studying, one color of lighting can give me a headache if I'm studying with no other additional lighting in the room. I just switch from math mode to reading mode and it gives my eyes a soothing feeling. Awesome! Loving my investment ;)

To Softech: I still recommend extending a roofing piece so that the LEDs could be aimed at the reading material without irritating one's eyes.

I just got my Lamp a month ago and I love it! I spend alot of time working at my lap top and reading in bed. I have always been sensitive to office lighting and the different levels of light this lamp provides don't bother my eyes at all.

I live in NYC and our winter has been terrible and dreary. Since I have been using my new lamp I swear I'm in a better mood. I read something on their website about it being just like sunlight, and I believe it. I love the fact I can charge my phone by plugging it into the lamp, and the night light and timer features have me thinking about buying another for my night stand. This lamp was described as" "13''L x 16''H x 13''W. The Primary colors are shade of orange with red and white". It is in fact 18" in diameter, 21" tall, and the primary colors are shades GREENS and BLUES with accents of violet, peach and white,and reddish-orange and blue cabochons; MUCH prettier than described! It does look just like the stock photo, but more vibrant, and the greens come through a little more (see photos that I uploaded). The lamp would have looked too large on my end table were it not for the fact that the squat proportions (diameter being almost the same as the height) are very attractive.

The base is NOT made of zinc, but rather a resin-like material, and there is a defect along the top of the base (as an artist, I notice these things). The top surface of the base looks as if the mold was a little warped-barely noticable, and does not detract from the lamp. The inner parts are real metal though. I really like the night light feature-you can illuminate the bottom by itself.

I am not sure if the glass(and it is real glass,upon close inspection, it has all sorts of little bubbles and irregularities in it) is really soldered with lead as the description claims, as it is MUCH lighter than a regular Tiffany lampshade. It does appear to be foiled ith real copper, as a small thread of copper was visible in one of the joins in strong sunlight. But no matter, even if this this a fake,(I mean not real lead,but rather resin and high quality plastic) it is just gorgeous, is a real eye-catcher in my living room and for sure, the price was right! I added two spiral flourescent 60 watt (actually 15 watt) CFC bulbs on top, to avoid overheating and possibly damaging the lamp. If you are looking for authenticity and for what the description claims, I would question this...a LOT. But if you want a gorgeous and beautifully done accent piece for the right price, than I would definitely recommend this lamp. Overall, I am very happy with it. 4 out of 5 because the descripton is inaccurate. But I'll still give it 5 out of 5 for beauty and value.

This is a very nice lamp for the cost. My first shipment arrived with one of the three legs cracked off. Amazon was its usual amazing self in replacing it promptly and having UPS pick up the damaged item for return. Just be realistic when ordering these Stained Glass type lamps for under $200 that you are getting an inexpensively made product. That is not to say it doesn't look good; it does; very good for the money, but it is not a high quality product.

The lamp I received looks very very close to the picture here on the web site.

With any item of art like this I feel one is better off shopping in-person; but these days when cost is a huge consideration for most this method and item can be trusted to deliver so long as your expectations are reasonable.

Boy, is this a gorgeous fixture! I purchased three of these Maxim Symphony light fixtures in oil rubbed bronze to replace the builders package shiny brass fixtures that were in the home when we bought it. This was a very simple instal. The directions provided are on a single sheet of paper and require the installer to fully inspect the product and align parts prior to the actual installation. So, if you are the not patient type you may likely miss something when installing the product.

It's true what they say about the automatic power-trip. I accidentally brushed against my heater a little too harshly, and it powered off. This is a great feature, since all of God's creatures like my backyard! I'd also add that, naturally, it adds light. So if you're like me and enjoy the evening air, expect to get a warm glow that will make your outdoor lighting unneeded. The only reason I didn't give it a 5-star rating, is because potential buyers need to be aware of the square-footage actually heated by this lamp. You need to be sitting relatively close to it (no more than 3 feet) to enjoy the full benefits of its warmth. What I haven't determined yet, is whether or not the heating distance is more impacted by the power of the heater, or the natural elements of just being outside in an open area. I imagine it's a combination of both. So to put it simply: If you use this heater in a somewhat enclosed patio space (like a four-seasons room made mostly of glass windows), you'll feel more heat. If you use it outdoors with no surrounding structural element to withold heat, the heating capacity is a bit lessened. My usage is the latter. It's still the best addition to my patio... well, second to the chiminea I added for a bit more heat and ambiance!

We have a second story patio overlooking the Sierra Nevada Mountains where we spend a great deal of time. Unfortunately, we have to bundle up and put our Chihuahuas in our coats. With this heater between us, our Chihuahuas are free and we only have to wear a light jacket if anything at all. It was easy to assemble, easy to operate, and it blends perfectly with our Tommy Bahama wicker furniture. I would highly recommend it.

It's nice for sitting on the back porch in the evening, when it's 60 degrees out, and the heater is sitting on the table you're at. It does not generate a ton of heat. Heat comes from a circular, electric heating element that's in the shade portion of the "lamp." So it's a little space heater for outdoors. It takes the chill off of a cool evening, but won't heat an area like a propane-based heater will do don't expect to be sitting outside in your underwear on a cool fall night with this lamp.

On another note, the heater does look very niceit's not a cheap-looking piece of equipment.

This is the second one of these that I bought this summer. I put the first one together and it was kind of difficult to do alone. My husband did the second one without checking it out first. Once it was put together and sitting on the table, I noticed the same thing previous reviewers have said: the paint job was not good. It appeared to be cracked and with little or not effort, it would peel and reveal a totally white lamp. I love the lamp as a heater. It does just exactly want I want, but the finish is very disappointing. I'm still within my 30 days and could return it to Amazon, but then I'd have to take it apart and try to get it put back in the box. I wish they'd just send me a good one so I could swap the pieces. It's a dilemma. I tried to email Endless Summer, but once I filled out the form, I kept getting an error message that my message couldn't be sent. Perhaps the company has gone belly up due to the poor quality of the finish! I've now carefully checked out the first one I bought, and I can see there are cracks in the paint as well. It won't be long before it will begin to flake. Bummer!

If you buy one, don't put it together until you've made sure that the finish is good!

I was immediately struck by the style of this lamp (as well as its one bulb sibling). On that front, the product image speaks for itself--either you find it attractive or not. There are several things that the images don't show, however. First, although it may at first glance appear to be metal, the body of the lamp is a dark wood. Second, the lamp looks like it could be unstable, but the base is much heavier than the rest of it, meaning its center of gravity is low and it remains very stable--I've never been worried it was going to tip over. Third, the cord emerges out of one of the long sides of the rectangular base, so this may affect how you would want to place it.

I really like this lamp--I can't say love, not for a lamp--but there are three potential caveats. First, it is not especially bright, even with two 100 watt bulbs, as the glass lampshades seem to consume a good chunk of the bulb's light. Second, that light is distinctly amber in color. It's almost feels like the room is being lit by torches (albeit without any flickering flames). Third, the switch for the lamp is on the cord, which feels awkward; as a result, the lamp is probably best suited for rooms where it can be plugged into an electrical outlet controlled by a switch. (The lamp's switch also controls both bulbs simultaneously, so there's no way to turn just one of the bulbs on.)

Overall, I am very happy with this lamp. If you like the style and don't find any of the caveats above to be a problem, I highly recommend it.

I ordered this lamp for a room with bamboo blinds and similar stained furniture. The build quality and overall look of the item is fantastic. It really served to kind of bring home the character of the room, giving it somewhat of an oriental look. As some other reviews have stated, I wish the power button was located on the base somehow instead of the cord... That however is a minor complaint, and overall the lamp looks fantastic!

I would have given 4 stars if the first one had not been missing a shade. I would have given 3 stars if the second one had not shown scratching around the base. I ordered the first one to arrive just before I needed it, so used Prime Free Two Day Shipping. When I found it was defective, time was short and I added another $3.99 to get the second quicker. After combining the usable parts, I have a working lamp but still have to repack the other and take it to the post office. I guess it comes down to, are you feeling lucky? After saying all that, it is a very attractive and functional reading light for two, placed on a table between the sofa and chair. I used two 27 Watt (actual, not equivalent) CFL, and my wife thinks it's almost too bright. (I don't know why anyone would expect a lamp of this configuration to light up a whole room.)

It goes great with our bamboo-esque themed sun room. Unlike most lamps that fade into the background of the décor this one actually catches your eye over and over. I find myself just staring at it at times.

Mine was received in perfect condition and considering as of the time of this review only person had a negative experience I think you can chalk it up to the fact that no company is perfect.
