Rock Show Table Lamp Review
I thought the lamp would be cool for my son's rock themed room. I think it is really cute, but the lamp shade paper like plastic graphic, which looks good, but I guess through shipping, the base came apart from the shade, and had a slight dent in it. I decided to just keep it, reglued the base to the lamp shade thing, he likes it. I think it was a bit too overpriced for the product. I would have been happy in the range of 25-30 dollars if it came in mint condition.

I am using this lamp as a bedsite lamp and I love it because the brighter uper light bulb is perfect for reading a book, while the dimmer bulb puts you into sleep mode!!
The only problem with it is that the shade frame interferes with the knob/switch used to turn the lights on and off.
After seeing this lamp everyday for a few days I appreciate its beauty even more than when I first received the lamp.
I like the red and white lamp so much I ordered a blue and white lamp to go along with it. I would like to get a green and white lamp also so I will keep looking.
Contacted LumiSource who stated the green and white lamp sold out quickly when these lamps were available.

As you can see, the lamp is cute. Get a "warm" colored bulb for it to match the color of the small bulb inside the lamp. The only problem with it is that the shade frame interferes with the knob/switch used to turn the lights on and off.

I am trying to add a little color to my very drab apartment; this light will definitely help in that area. I love the color combination; very exciting. I have placed the lamp on a counter in the bathroom and am using it as a nightlight. Works great. After seeing this lamp everyday for a few days I appreciate its beauty even more than when I first received the lamp.

We bought two of these for the bedroom my two boys share -one to go by each bedside. They are just the right size for a bedside lamp. Cords do stick out the back but that didn't bother me. The lower light (inside the base) is a great night light/low mood light. I use it if one of the boys wakes up in the night. Wish the base were just a bit bigger, though -these can tip over easily if the boys brush them.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for LumiSource LS-GLOW MELON W Glow Melon Lamp, White and Blue
This lamp will add charm to a bedroom or bathroom. The light is very warm and soft and brightens up a room.Friday, November 21, 2014
Buy Chillout Personal Fan Grey/blu
Are you in the market for a $16 smallish fan? Then you are probably trying to decide between the Honeywell Chillout and the Honeywell TurboForce. I have both and like both, but both are suited for slightly different settings. In a nutshell, the Chillout pushes less air but has quieter operation (and a more pleasing tone, but that is subjective); and, the Honeywell has more options (tilt, 3 speed settings) and a more stable base (and as you can guess pushes more air with it's larger fan blades and is louder). So in the end you need to decide which fan will work better for you.
Air Flow: Winner = Tie
(+1 Honeywell) Based upon my observations the Honeywell low setting produces airflow in between the low and high setting on the Chillout. The medium setting on the Honeywell gives more airflow than the high setting on the Chillout. The high setting on the Honeywell give more airflow than can be achieved by the Chillout.
(+1 Chillout) As a consequence of this, however, the Chillout allows you to have a truly low setting for those instances you just want a touch of airflow. The Honeywell is still pretty powerful at its lowest setting. For us, this comes in handy in our daughter's room. This way our baby monitor (audio only) is not overpowered by the strong gust/sound from the Honeywell. Now my daughter is allowed to use a fan overnight with the Honeywell, we would shut it off before going to bed.
Sound: Winner = Chillout
Chillout: 80 decibels (dB) directly in front of the fan, 70 dB about three feet in front of the fan, 45 dB about three feet to the side of the fan.
Honeywell: 80 dB directly in front of the fan, 75 dB about three feet in front of the fan, 50 dB about three feet to the side of the fan.
As I mentioned above, I fell the tone of the sound from the Chillout is closer to white noise, whereas the Honeywell motor overpowers the sound and is higher pitched. The Honeywell sound is not annoying, just louder and less pleasing (for those that like white noise).
Stability: Winner = Honeywell
The Honeywell has a solid base that allows uniform distribution of weight across the entire base. It sits well in window sills with extended platforms in front.
The Chillout has a pair of feet in the front that is connected by a cross bar. The back is a fin similar to the front feet, but pointing backwards. The depth of the Chillout is slightly less than the Honeywell. I thought this might add to stability when used in a window sill or the platform in front of a window if you have one; however, I did not find this to be the case. I found that with the feet design, the Chillout has a more concentrated distribution of weight and therefore has a tendency to slip and fall to the side when used in situations that are not perfectly stable.
Case in point our windows have platforms that sit in front of the window. They run about four and a half inches wide. The Honeywell sits on these with no problem despite extending about an inch or so beyond the platform. The Chillout, despite being only about a half inch beyond the platform, want to fall forward and off the platform because of the shape and position of the front feet and lack of other contact points. We have to use something underneath the fan to extend the effective platform width to keep the fan in place.

Cons: Not omni-directional, limited to 2 fan speeds, turning mechanism for powering on and off can be a hassle but adaptable over time grip wise, and some white noise (low on low settings and somewhat high on high settings) but bearable.
Overall, I give this product 5 stars because it was exactly what I was looking for and it does its job.
I also really like that this is (IMHO) the ideal size for a desk fan. They make smaller ones that don't move enough air and bigger ones that take up too much space. This one's just right.

Pros: Produces strong cooling winds, perfect for office desks on hot days, takes up little space, fair pricing, good stability support while standing, somewhat small in size, portable, and light weight.Cons: Not omni-directional, limited to 2 fan speeds, turning mechanism for powering on and off can be a hassle but adaptable over time grip wise, and some white noise (low on low settings and somewhat high on high settings) but bearable.

My wife and my sons all "NEED" to have a fan on when sleeping. After killing a number of different fans over the years I have found that this model is by far the best as far a durability, quality of construction, and reasonable cost. Even though it only has two speed that is all I think you really need. Low is good for white noise & high for when you are hot and want some good air movement. I have seen it in dirrerent colors and under differnt brand names but they are all good. Buy it, you will like it.Honest reviews on Chillout Personal Fan Grey/blu
I bought this fan to replace one of the same make and model that I have used for the last 5 or 6 years. It ran all day for 5 days a week for 5 or 6 years and still hadn't quite given out but it was starting to slow down a lot. For the price I am totally ok with replacing this that often. I feel that I definitely got my money's worth out of it.I also really like that this is (IMHO) the ideal size for a desk fan. They make smaller ones that don't move enough air and bigger ones that take up too much space. This one's just right.

I purchased this fan after reading the reviews. Overall, it's great. The one thing that's a bit annoying is that it's not adjustable. So the stand it comes on is fixed and can't be adjusted higher or lower. I'm not big on oscillating fans so it doesn't bother me that it doesn't oscillate. It does bother me though that I can't adjust the fan to focus the air flow either higher or lower. This doesn't sound like a big deal but I would think it's a pretty standard feature in a fan so I'm surprised that this was designed this way. Otherwise, it's pretty quiet and is actually quite powerful for it's size.Monday, October 27, 2014

Discount Lava Lite 14-1/2-Inch Classic Lava Lamp, White/Pink
After reading the reviews, I was a bit nervous about ordering this as a gift...so instead of having the item shipped directly to the recipient, I had it sent to me so that I could check it out first.
Big waste of time/energy: the item arrived, was assembled, plugged in and did exactly what it was supposed to do (attractively, too).
I'm not sure what the unhappy customers are expecting here, but maybe they're disappointed because the reality of the item doesn't match their memory of what the item "should be".
Lava Lite is good for setting a nice warm atmosphere. I still love the Lava Lite! Perhaps it could be used as a night lite for kids.

Room Essentials® Stick Lamp - White Review
There are so many overpriced light fixtures on the market. It was good to find these simple lights. Definitely worth the price. Only comment I have is the mast could be a bit more firmly screwed into the base. It doesn't cause a problem really, but the "feel" is just a bit less solid than it could be when you touch or move it.

This lamp looks like it looks in the pictures. It has a nice, rustic/industrial look to it. Doesn't look super expensive but doesn't look super cheap either. It was not difficult to assemble. Creates a fairly focused light though so better as a reading light/over a chair or desk rather than to light a whole room.

Discount Texturized Ceramic Oval Table Lamp
This lamp is beautiful... well, the base of it, at least. The shade I received (the first time) was disgusting. It had MOLD on it. The second shade I received this morning is not 100% clean, but I just don't feel like dealing with returning, etc. Also, just a heads-up, it's a small lamp. I was expecting a taller lamp, but that's my bad for not reading the dimensions.
3/5 because it's a pretty lamp, just gotta be "lucky" and get a clean, white shade!!

Electrix 2246 BLK Task Light, Incandescent, Clamp On Mounting, 45" Reviews
If you're looking for a quality lamp and do not want to second mortgage your house to get one then this lamp is for you. It is made in the USA and it shows! Aside from the switch knob and cable there is no plastic in this lamp. It is all sturdy metal design throughout. Most importantly, the dowels holding tension springs are all solid steel (blackened to match the looks). The nuts at the joints are of "self-locking" type that will prevent them from coming loose over time. Inside the shade there is another, smaller white reflector shade. After approx. three hours of constant use (75W bulb) the main shade was just warm (the reflector gets and dissipates most of the heat). Also important is the fact that it is so well balanced that it stays permanently in position (and I tried some "extreme" stretches). Save yourself a lot of frustrations that come with the cheap China-made crap, and invest in this solidly made, well thought-out product.

The dimming on these works great. I find that I end up using my hands more than my feet, as my feet just don't have the fine motor control to move the switches with enough precision. That's not a fault of the product though.
The trouble I have, and maybe this is typical of all such dimmers (I don't have experience with any others), is that they cause the lights to hum quite noticeably, especially when you are letting the maximum amount of light through. Maybe it's the lights. I honestly don't know, but I thought I should point this out.
The product is great and you'll probably get used to the hum pretty quickly. The product I'm using this with is this: KT900 3-Light 1250-Watt Mini-Boom Kit.

The case is sturdy and design makes it easy to adjust the brightness. The internals however lack inductor choke and interference capacitor to smooth out the voltage making lamps "buzz" and cause interference. Lack of RFI/EMI suppression reduces it's rating to one star.Best Deals for Westek 6089B 500W Full Range Foot Control Dimmer, Black
Two were purchased 8 mths ago and used side-by-side in a large makeup mirror. This product means well with a great concept for use on floor or dressertop. Design is great. Construction is great. But the electronic components inside are lacking in durability. One works fine with no problems while the other, after a few months, began to turn itself on in the off mode; it'll flicker, pulse, and sometimes dim on its own in the off position. Even on dim, there is a noticeable flickering. Both units are pluged into a switchable power strip for added safety.Honest reviews on Westek 6089B 500W Full Range Foot Control Dimmer, Black

Instead of constructing my own dimmers for use in videography, I found these dimmers and applied them to 500watt tungsten bulbs. All three dimmers work very well. The filaments will hum when dimmed, The controls need to be used by hand for fine adjustment. Only complaint is that the units are not equipped with a three prong plug, for proper grounding.Thursday, April 10, 2014

The lamp is nice. Unique shape. A little cheap looking if you get close to it but I love just touching any part of it to turn it on/off. It also is a three-way. I would buy it again. I have two of these lamps in my bedroom. They fit perfectly on my bedside tables. They are simple to touch to turn them on and off. I have had these for quite a while and have had no trouble with either.

I love this little lamp. My first one came with a bad solar cell but Amazon exchanged it no hassles, no cost to me. I've had the new lamp for several weeks now and I'm totally loving it. It is so cool to just pop the little cell out and set it in a window while I'm at work then when I come home it's all charged and ready for night use. No electric cord to hassle with, it's totally portable. I hope to replace more of my electric and battery items with solar ones. Every little penny saved on my electric bill is worth it.

Banana Leaves Table Lamp Review
I bought these lamps with the intention of putting them in our new conservatory room that has a decidedly tropical feel. When they arrived I was a bit surprised that the leaves were not greener. I expected more of a light green. The lamp shade is very attractive and goes perfectly with the lamp but the one side of one was slightly frayed. I just turned it around. May take a little glue to make sure it doesn't get worse. It takes a 100 watt bulb but I used one of the energy savers that gives more light and the wattage is still within safe limits. You cannot see the bulb so I don't mind using the energy saver. I did think they were slightly more expensive than I thought they should be. It is a nice design and I would recommend it. It's not too big and it's not too small.
I bought this through Amazon.com.
