These candles and their remote work perfectly. I am using them year round to highlight in candle sticks on my bookshelves. They are extremely bright and you control their timing, color, alternating colors, flickering etc. I was so impressed when I first got them, that I immediately ordered them again. On the bookshelves in my library/office, they give off a warm glow that highlights my books and antiquities. Just couldn't be happier.

I really like these candles. The flicker looks great and the color options are a nice touch. I keep seeing them in the corner of my eye and thinking they are real candles. My only complaint is that in the yellow and white color settings the colors do not match between candles. So if they are set near each other it is obvious they are fake because they are different shades of yellowish-orange.

I was very pleased to see it came with extra batteries, I have had these for a week and have already had to put in the spares. Also the colors sometime get stuck and there is no way to change them back but overall I think they were a nice purchase.

Batteries barely last a week and the controller doesn't give you the choice you push on I'm guessing the batteries on that get drained too. Would not buy them. Nice concept but lacking in quality.

Just purchased the 2nd one. I had bought the first light at a local store. Liked it so much that after a couple of months I ordered the 2nd one from Amazon and than read the poor reviews. Am surprised about these reviews as I found it easy to set up, arm is sturdy and moves easily exactly the way one would want it to move. I am very satisfied and havent found anything wrong with it. Perfect size and have one on each side of a L shaped Sofa. Very unobtrusive and can sit in the corner of the sofa and have more than enough light to read without distrurbing others who might be viewing TV in the dark. Looks very nice as well.

I need a bright light to read at night, so I purchased this lamp to replace a LED floor lamp I was using, but that wasn't as bright as I wanted. This lamp is attractive but had two drawbacks, The first was that it had a "UV" filter over the bulb. This filter resulted in the light having a definite yellow cast. This color, plus the fact that the bulb was only 40 watts resulted in a very weak light. The second problem is the lamp is short compared to others I have had. This resulted in a low (or flatter) angle over the reading material, which further weakened the brightness of the light. It was simply not what I needed.

I am very satisfied with the lamp head itself and with the range of mobility of the lamp head. However, the pole (tube) that runs from the base up to the lamp head doesn't tighten enough to feel stable. My lamp is sort of wedged between the wall and the couch, so it is not problematic at the moment, but when I tried to put it elsewhere in the room, it was not stable.

I expected more for the price.

I have just started playing around with LED lighting and plan to do lots of it. This was one of the options I was hoping to use in the kitchen as indirect lighting under the cabinets but they really aren't birght enough for that purpose. Instead, I will be using them along the top of the cabinets as accent lighting. A better pick for under the counter would be 5050 LED strips and buying in bulk. These are useful but not they way I originally intended.

Went through the same drill as Badabing did. Same results, :( Ended up putting the LED strip in aluminum channel and lacing monofilament line down its length, then screwing that channel up under the shelf. The remote works....eventually, but when working has a nice "show-off" reward.

Apparently LED technology has surpassed sticky tape technology, at least in China.

I bought two sets of these lights for twin bookshelves in my office. They worked great right out of the box. The remote from one works with the other set as well. The remote works fine, even from across the room. The lights are bright enough to light the book case top shelf, but I wouldn't use them for task lighting (such as working on a model airplane or something like that), there are much better light solutions for such things. I like that the LEDs can be dimmed with the remote as well, nice feature to have.

Installation was very simple. I drilled a hole in the back of the bookcase, threaded the LED strip through, stuck the power box and remote sensor to the back of the bookcase (keeping the eye of the sensor sticking out the side of the case), and plugged it in. I cut the LED strip to the right length, peeled the cover on the adhesive backing, and stuck them to the ceiling of the bookcase. It looked fantastic. The other one was even easier because I already knew how long to cut the strip of lights.

Unfortunately, the first set failed to remain stuck and I found them on the shelf the next day. I stuck them back up and pressed harder... no luck, a few hours later they came down again. I used some heavy duty doublesided tape next. I put a strip of tape the entire lenght of the bookcase top and stuck the light strip on it with a lot of pressure. This lasted another day and they came down again. The adhesive on the back of the light strip is just very inadequate (by the way, the bookcase is all wood).

I finally resorted to tacking the light strip up with heavy duty staples. This worked but was a real pain to accomplish. The second set seemed to stick...for about three days, then BAM it came down too. Staples for that sucker as well.

All in all, I would recommend these if you have a better way to adhere them to the surface you're using.

These lamps so pretty in the picture. I was aware that the price was very very low but I figured I would give them a try anyway because they are touch lamps which was what I was looking for. They do not come assembled. Assembly is a pain in the neck. The individual pieces of glass that you have to put together were broken so I packed them all back up and returned them. Very very disappointed.

This is a pretty little lamp but it is very fragile. The pieces of the shade are hanging on just barely to the frame and if you are clumsy or have big hands you may not be able to assemble it. The glass components are held onto the frame with delicate clips which I feel could have been a little longer. I have this in my guest room and I literally have to issue a warning "touch the base only, do not touch the shade". I love touch lamp technology especially for older guests but I don't want to have to worry about the shade falling apart if it is actually touched. I did not send this back but I would not buy it again.

Gorgeous lamp, arrived very well packaged without damage. It's definitely a little more on the red side than a plum or deep, rich, purple, but it's still very nice nonetheless. As with most stained glass lamps like this, definitely not the best choice for a reading lamp--it's more for ambiance.

I bought two of these swing-arm lamps with fabric shades: one with gold shade, one with silver shade. Some of the photos show shade-color much more saturated than they really are (not true to form). The gold color is a SUBTLE (not saturated) color, giving the area a summery, friendly glow. The silver color is also a SUBTLE (not saturated) color, giving the area a wintry, icy glow. Neither glow is better than the other, because summer and winter are both necessary; it depends on the room you're putting them in. In a warm room, put the silver. In a cool room, put the gold. I happen to like the gold better than the silver in all cases.

I think I figured out what "pin-up" refers to. Pin-up means the shade is NOT attached to the lightbulb. You definitely want pin-up. The alternative of pin-up, I think, is "clip-on" where the shade clips directly onto the lightbulb (a horrible design).

The lamp itself is attractive and sturdy, within the range of quality and style that I was looking for. The price of $34 is unbeatable. I searched high and low for cheap $, and $34 was the cheapest I could find that had an olden-days look. I found cheaper but the lamp was either solid-white or solid-black with yucky white paper or corrugated shade, all of which I detest.

Overall, very nice. When I'm in the market again, assuming this lamp is still available, I'll buy more.

These are nice pin up lamps but was exspecting better quality since the description said contractor grade.The shade color was suppose to be gold but are more brown than gold.I did like the color as it worked out better in my color scheme.If you dont mind a cheaper made lamp thses will work just fine.I order a third one so I'm not that disappointed in them.
