Discount Ashley L531914 Gavivi Table Lamp, 2-Pack
I got these lamps to suite my dark brown furniture in bedroom. I am completely satisfied with the quality of the material. I bought this specifically for the two different bulbs it has and 4 way switch. It really works well. I brought it to match with touchier lamp Ashley L531911 Traditional Floor Lamp with Night Light, Dark Brown and it rocks :)
The pictures the Ashely company sends out show an off-white globe and light tan shade which would've perfectly matched my sofa. That is NOT what they are selling. (I even asked the nearby Ashely home store twice in a space of one year if they carried them in the store so I could see them. "No" was the answer both times. Now I know why.) As you can see from my pictures, the shade is mix of copper/gold, and the globe is medium tan, light brown. The globe also has specks of dark brown paint (specks matched in the shade) and unattractive gold tone paint lightly brushed on the top and bottom of the globe. I think this is to make it blend with the shade better (which it does) and possibly to make the 4 glass seams less noticable. (If it didn't have the extra paint, they would be obvious. Two seems next to the arms would've been hidden and made sense. Four seems running top to bottom do not.) The metal part is also flecked with green, just so you know.
Finally, neither lamp had exactly even arms. One I could live with. After a few days of looking at in on my table, loving the night light feature (what I was shopping for), I decided the colors coordinated went enough with my accent decor and I would keep it. (I listed the defective lamp on Craigslist, no interest, so it was donated to charity.)
I decided to keep one lamp, however what I received was NOT what I was expecting color-wise at ALL. I was pretty irritated when I first opened the box, so I'm trying to save other people the same irritation (and return/refund process). In the END I decided I liked the gold/copper colors since they tie-in well with my other accent pieces and the inlay on the living room table. (I wanted something with an off-white or very light tan base and shade for more light, and to match my sofa. The bird wings in the picture are the color.) I still think the way the globe was splattered and globbed with paint looks a kinda tacky. I was also not expecting green flecks on the metal, but luckily I have some green in every room, so it was okay. I really wanted a lamp with a night light, and I love that feature. None of these pictures give that effect. I'd probably have to take one in the evening showing most of the room. With this large a globe, it does an excellent job of providing comfortable light with either or both bulbs on. (Please note, I went to Walmart and bought the brightest bulb I could get, 2700 lumens, because the shade was so much darker than what I was using with other lamps. That added on another $8-$9, but it's supposed to last over a decade. We'll see.) Make sure you look at the pictures I've uploaded and click on them to enlarge before purchasing. AND check your seller's refund/return policy.
***Update 9/2013. Months later, I love the copper shade with dark flecks and wish the globe were the same tone (not beige) without the spray paint (but I can see why they used it 'cause the beige would not match). The unexpected green tinge on the iron I now find kinda interesting. I like the lamp I kept very much for the styling and excellent nightlight feature which is just the right amount of light. However, it's dishonest of the Ashley company to continue advertising that does not show the colors accurately or the spray paint on the globe, so I'm leaving the 3 star rating. Since my seller was so great to work with, I am happy with my purchase. I donated the lamp with the defective arm to a church fundraiser, where an older lady bought it for $25. I wouldn't have give $2 for it. I hope she's still happy with her purchase.

Before you buy these lamps #1) check the refund option from the seller, and #2) make sure you'll be happy with something much darker than these pictures. I ordered a set from a different seller. I give him 5 stars because he said he was very sorry the lamps were not like the pictures Ashley was using and he didn't know what they looked like (unopened box). He gave me the option of a full refund (including return shipping) or he would refund the price of the defective lamp. The pictures the Ashely company sends out show an off-white globe and light tan shade which would've perfectly matched my sofa. In a nutshell, I ordered a set of these from a different seller who did the honorable thing by offering a full refund, or allowing me to only pay for the lamp that wasn't defective. (Another great thing about Amazon. Even if I hadn't gotten a reputable seller here, I could've gone to Amazon customer service and submitted a complaint. I buy a lot of things through Amazon, and have never regretted any purchase. Even the few I had to send back or the one other time I wanted a refund. Amazon took care of it.)I decided to keep one lamp, however what I received was NOT what I was expecting color-wise at ALL. This floor lamp is shorter than many floor lamps, making it perfect beside a bed or chair. I used it to replace a torchere that previously stood beside my bed. The old lamp threw more light, but was difficult to turn off from bed due to its height. This shorter lamp puts the pull chain (with attractive contemporary cube-shaped dangle) within easy reach. The light is less bright, but sufficient for bedtime reading, and creates a more peaceful bedtime ambience. It came with a 100 watt (equivalent) compact fluorescent soft white bulb. It is very attractive, with a fusion of contemporary and traditional style elements, just right for my eclectic design. Assembly was a snap. I marked it down to 4 stars rather than 5 due to a couple of minor manufacturing flaws. The underside of the base is covered in felt, a nice touch to protect the floor. However, the glue used to adhere the felt to the metal base was tacky, and the felt slipped right off the base when removing it from the packing box. I will look for a better adhesive to replace it, but in the meantime just tucked the edges of the felt up into the corners of the base underside, which will hold for now. Secondly, the top section of the vertical post (it is broken into 3 sections which screw together) had some slight corrosion on it, although the other two sections were finished perfectly. The flaws aren't bad enough to cause me to return the lamp. Altogether this is a great lamp practical and attractive. A perfect solution for my needs.
Other than the defective (or just poorly specked) socket it is a very attractive, well made lamp and shade that was very easy to setup. I like it and it looks nice in the room I have it in. Well made 3-way lamp sockets are available several places online for less than $10, rather than deal with a lengthy return process I've just ordered a better socket.

The three way switch in this lamp doesn't work properly with 3-way CFLs and runs incandescent 3-way bulbs noticeably dimmer than other three way lamps in the house. If it has any special bulb requirements that I'm missing, it's not listed in the manual. Running a straight 100W replacement CFL didn't work so well either, even on the third switch setting (which should drive a 100W bulb at full power) the light from the CFL was dull and flickered somewhat.Other than the defective (or just poorly specked) socket it is a very attractive, well made lamp and shade that was very easy to setup. This is a handsome, high-quality desk lamp that is also a work of art. It is weighty (a good thing), but relatively compact for lamps of this type. The fit and finish are impeccable and the dimmer control is smooth and silent. It's pricey, but if you value beauty, quality, and workmanship, I highly recommend this lamp. You will not be disappointed.

My hunter fan came with this type of unusual bulb and I thought I found an easy solution with these bulbs. These bulbs are hard to find AND they don't last long for some reason. Search Amazon for "GU24 socket adapter" and you can use an adapter to use regular bulbs in your fixture. Right now, it seems bulbarama is the only distributor for these on amazon. They charged a high shipping fee but I bought 2 for my outdoor fixtures and the shipping remained the same.Best Deals for MaxLite MLS18GUWW GU24 Base Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb, 18-watt

I got this bulb on January 2011, and it went dark in September! Aren't fluorescent bulbs supposed to outlive their incandescent counterparts? Basically it is a pain, since you cannot find a replacement in your average hardware store, and have to get it shipped, and then it gets burnt so easily! Shame on my construction company for sticking me with this.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for MaxLite MLS18GUWW GU24 Base Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb, 18-watt
WARNING: New design of MaxLite 18W GU24WW bulbs will not fit some lighting fixtures (I have Acclaim outdoor lighting). MaxLite's 18W bulbs no longer "taper in" at bottom of base (odd because their 13W bulbs still do taper in). It was an "engineering mistake" to say the least. Ask MaxLite and tell them where you heard this (I have the new and old design bulbs --oh, and new ones don't match picture on the box they come in!). Suppose I should just purchase entire new light fixtures? --No way!Tuesday, October 14, 2014
Pauz Table Lamp with Blue Lamp Shade Reviews
I ordered these because this is the color theme in my bedroom and I thought these would make great bedside lamps. My first issue is that they didn't come with instructions, so I didn't realize right away that these are French style lamps. So to assemble this you screw the light bulb in after you have put the shade on top (flush) of the base. It doesn't give off as much light as I would have hoped. The blue shade is pretty dark. I ordered two of these, but have only put one together. The other one is still in the box, I should have returned them, but had already thrown away the main packaging it came in once I realized how to properly use the lamp. I wasn't thrilled with it, but am stuck with them now.We bought this for our daughter's room. It is very pretty and serves as a brighter night light. Very pleased with this item.

Purchased this for my daughter to use a reading light in bed, but it's far too small for that. === Background ===
Before I bought this, I purchased a Belkin Conserve Socket F7C009q Energy-Saving Outlet. The first Belkin I received was defective, it wouldn't shut off at the end of the time interval. The replacement worked fine.
The SimpleTouch I also bougth from Amazon worked fine from the start.
=== Comparison to the Belkin ===
Current Price (shipped free): SimpleTouch $15, Belkin $10
As an energy saver, both devices have promise. The SimpleTouch has a parasitic drain of it's own, I measured it consuming 1.1W in standby mode while plugged in. But you can turn the socket back off with a second press of the button. The Belkin does not consume any measurable power, however your device stays running until the time is up because there is not "OFF" feature on the Belkin. So I can't say one is better than the other, however I can say in theory the Belkin is better for energy savings on a low parasitic drain device (5W)
As safety devices, I cannot recommend the Belkin because my first one failed to turn off even though the LED status appeared normal. Keep in mind that adding a socket controller inserts another source of failure. Nothing works better than unplugging the device, but we are human and may forget, so that's where these devices help. For best safety, unplug the timer, not the device.
Functionally, the Belkin seems to offer more flexibity because it has three time settings. However, I have found that pressing the button does not reset the counter to zero. The only way to reset the timer is to unplug it, plug it back in, then restart the process. The only way to turn it off manually is unplug it. This is the worst thing about the Belkin. The SimpleTouch offers only one time setting, but it's perfect for situations where you only want an hour (for me, my morning countertop radio) and may want to turn it off earlier than the end of the timer cycle.
In order to avoid covering the second outlet, you must install the Belkin in the top receptacle, and for the SimpleTouch it must be installed in the bottom outlet. The SimpleTouch does a better job at staying out of the profile of the adjacent socket. However, when you plug in the device you must support the back of the SimpleTouch to counter the plugging force which is inconvenient becuase it requires two hands. The SimpleTouch has a rotating outlet, the Belkin is fixed; so the SimpleTouch might work better if you have a horizontal wall socket and a vertical adapter brick application.
The status LED is dim green on the Belkin, and bright red on the SimpleTouch. I prefer the SimpleTouch because the light from the Belkin can't be seen during the day. Some might not like the bright LED on the SimpleTouch at night.
The Belkin is a little nicer device to look at. The "hourglass" label around the SimpleTouch with a hole punched through it for the LED has a lower quality appearance.
Both devices disengage without coming back on when the power goes out or the unit is unplugged. Both are UL rated.
===Bottom Line===
The SimpleTouch is a better unit if you want the convenience of being able to turn the device off instead of unplugging it and you can live with one time setting. The plug configuration is better, but requires two hands while plugging.
Unfortunately, the SimpleTouch consumes a constant 1.1W of power when plugged in, and feels a little warm. What good is an energy saving device that wastes energy itself? Only on devices that are more wasteful.
My experience so far is that the SimpleTouch is more reliable as a safety shut-off device, my first Belkin downright failed to turn off on my twice, so I returned it for a replacement.
You may want to compare other features in the product description like warranty, etc. I was not trying to compare everything, just what's important to me in the way I use the products.
Thank goodness this auto shut-off safety outlet is on the market. $14.99 is such a small price to pay for peace of mind. If you're thinking about buying this for similar reasons, don't hesitate. BUY IT!

This is perfect for us! My daughter likes to fall asleep with the light on and with our creaky floors, I would sometimes wake her when I went back in her room to turn the light off. This solves my problems! I have the light plugged into it and turned on. When I want the light on, I push the button on the timer. It counts down 60 minutes and shuts itself off. It's perfect. Also, I have it plugged into the lower outlet, so the upper one is accessible if I need to plug in a humidifier or something else.Best Deals for Simple Touch C30002 Auto Shut-Off Safety Outlet, Single Setting

Best Ikea Magnarp Table Lamp 14" Height *Similar to Orgel Table Lamp* Deals
I would prefer if the switch was on the lamp... it is on the cord. The description did not explain tis but I read a review that did. So I knew what to expect. The lamps came on time. They were very easy to assemble. They do not come with light bulbs and the pamphlet is not very descriptive on which type is needed. I had to make 2 trips to the store to get it right. They require 40 w, 120v, B10. It didn't specify but you need the small base light bulbs. It looks like the larger base will fit but they don't.The lamp was categorized by Amazon as a pair, it is not. It's a rather small, but adequate, lamp but my real problem is with the pricing. Since I thought it was a pair I was fine paying TWICE the price if you buy directly from IKEA. Twice the price is not acceptable if you are selling me one lamp. I understand that secondary sellers often mark up items to get their 'cut' but come on, you getting it from IKEA for me isn't worth 100% mark up. I'm returning the item since it wasn't as advertised (a pair) and it is grossly overpriced.

This is a great light.
Like a different reviewer, I too noticed that each shade is on a slightly different angle. The metal is thin enough to just bend it over a little to make it straight. This is a very minor issue.
The instructions for this light are horrible. They use a generic light diagram, plus one that shows this light. It is a little confusing, but you can figure it out with common sense.
My biggest complaint is that you only have two screws to hold it up. I didn't trust them. Therefore, I drilled 4 more holes into the mounting plate to screw it into the ceiling joists. It would probably be difficult for the manufacturer to have pre-drilled holes because every house is different. Just be aware that if you want to give it a little more support, you have to drill the holes. (Easy to do)
One last thing, The shade says 60W Max. The Amazon web site and other web sites that sell this light all say 150W. This is a huge problem given that a 60W bulb is not bright enough to play pool. Therefore I called the manufacturer. They ensured me that it is 150W Max.
Overall I love the light.
It's not clear from the description, but this is hard-wired. Also, it does not come with bulbs (as the description seems to suggest) but ordinary compact fluorescent bulbs work well with it.
My only complaint is that the lamps don't hang completely straight. Each one is at a little bit of a different angle. You can choose to ascribe this to "character" or you can let it drive you crazy.

You can spend a lot of money on a pool-table light. But this one does the job for a reasonable price. I have a 7 foot ceiling and was concerned that it might hang too low. But cutting all the chain but one link gave it a good hanging height. It's not clear from the description, but this is hard-wired. Also, it does not come with bulbs (as the description seems to suggest) but ordinary compact fluorescent bulbs work well with it.

My friend has been buying Tuwago bulbs for the past few years and kept raving about them. Now I'm just a simple commoner with absolutely no interest in light bulbs at all, but I figured I might as well try it out just to appease my friend. When I bought this bulb about 6 months ago, I was promised that I would be amazed at just how energy efficient yet bright they are.
Let me just say that I am not disappointed! I put this bulb in the floorlamp in my bedroom and the light it gives off is pretty much exactly all that you could possibly want from a lightbulb: very high quality, bright, yet not overpowering.
I think the best part about this bulb versus other energy efficient lightbulbs I've tried in the past is that there is absolutely no annoying warm-up time! It reaches maximum brightness immediately! The box said that the bulb is supposed to last 23 years. While I cannot vouch that it will last me that long, it has had no problems so far and there is a 3 year guarantee so I already feel like I've come out ahead. I'm buying more Tuwago bulbs to replace all of the lights in my house and am now a firm believer in LED technology!Excellent Price and customer service I used the bulbs in a church sanctuary to get better lighting. The bulbs replace 40 watt incandescent bulbs providing a much needed increase in usable light. I would recommend these led bulbs to anyone. Thank you

All the photos you see on the Internet are the same, probably provided by the manufacturer. On my computer, that one photo shows the color as redder than it appears in real life. At first I was disappointed by the darker color, but once I put them in place, the lamps instantly gave my room the strong look I wanted, and the color works perfectly with my furniture and decor. The lampshade is also very beautiful. I'm really happy with my purchase! They just arrived and are really beautiful...photos don't do them justice! The finishing of the materials is of a very high quality and the scale of these is quite dramatic. They integrated very well into our transitional decor and I'd highly recommend these to anyone looking for elegance that doesn't overwhelm.

Cheap Submersible LED Lights, White. Battery Operated LED Lights. Set of
I placed these in a mason jar (for my outside wedding reception) in with shells & waterbeads. They made for a gorgous centerpiece & i had tons of compliments. No issues with these at all. Would recommend this good product for any crafter or wedding bride-zilla!
Basically, it does what it says and is really cute in the vase. I left it set up in a vase of water for at least 3 days and stayed lit the whole time. The only problem I have with it..its very bright! Really almost too bright. A softer glow would have been much better.
You get 10 in a pack. They are reusable. They each carry 2 watch-type round batteries. What keeps them submersible is a rubber o-ring. Works great. I opened one up like a was gonna replace the battery and then put it back in the water and it is still fine.

These were used in a vase of water as a center piece, we could have turned off the lights and would have had enough just from the ten of these. They were a total hit!Best Deals for Submersible LED Lights, White. Battery Operated LED Lights. Set of
I got these for my wedding coming up in Sept. The lights came in perfect condition and all of them worked. I had to play with a couple to get them to work but they all did light. I won't be using them until my wedding in August so I will find out then how long they will last.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Submersible LED Lights, White. These are going to be perfect for my wedding! They shipped quick, and were packaged well. I had two that did not work upon arrival, but I work in a factory for a living, and know how a simple circuit works. After inspecting the two that didn't work, I noticed there is a little piece of metal on the inside of the bottom part that comes up the side inside the bottom of the light. This little pice of metal must touch the inside rim of the top of the light in order to complete the circuit. I pulled this up slightly, and screwed on the top, and it worked! Did this with the second one, and viola! It worked too! So before thinking they don't work upon arrival, monkey with them a bit, and I bet you can get them to work.
