I gave one to my daughter and I purchased one for my Mother, which now I have on everyday, next to her portrait. These Butterflies are a wonderful large size and have a warm, colorful glow when lit. I love the quality of the light this thing puts out as it makes it easy to read paperwork while not interfering with my LCD computer screen. The smaller wattage is just right for my needs. It has a small foot print and it is not too tall for desks with overhead storage.

The bad news is that the thing started flickering and then died. It claims the bulb is good for 10,000 hours but I had it for about 18 months and I am sure I never came close to that 10,000 hour number. It started to have a transformer burning smell to it for the last couple of days when it stopped working, so I think it was the transformer that burned out, not the bulb. The bulb is about $8 but I couldn't find one in stock anywhere in town, so I just bought another OttLite lamp, although a different model (GX7825 13 watts instead of 9 watts). I bought this new lamp at a local store because they carried spare bulbs.

This light is on my desk at work and it fits in nicely since I don't have much room. The bulb needs to warm up a little when first turning it on but once warm it's bright enough without being too glary. It looks nice too.

I just received my lamp and for the most part am very pleased with it. I very much like the hammered base. However, I am disappointed in the bird. It is not made of the same quality as the rest of the lamp. I'm not sure what it is made of but it appears to be plastic, and one foot has broken away from the branch it is sitting on. Although this bothers me, it doesn't bother me enough to go through the hastle of sending the lamp back. Why a manufacturer would make a lamp of this quality and then put a cheap looking bird on it is a mystery to me. I also thought the tree-like portion of the lamp would have a more bronze-like finish but it is a smooth, black wrought iron finish.

My wife was excited to received two of these lamps for our bedroom. I assembled the first one and stood back to see how it look and realized the glass post slanted just a bit. I assembled the second one and when shade was screwed in, the shade slanted quite a bit. The shade was leveled if I didn't screwed it into place all the way. The lamps look nice but the quality is not great.

I ordered this originally from Target (it was not on Amazon's website when I did so), and it arrived with a crushed top. From Amazon, it came just fine, and it's adorable for our nursery. It's small, cute, ivory (as it says), and works just fine. Order it from here, not Target. It had a tiny little paint flaw on the nose of the teddy bear, not enough to deal with the hassle of returning/replacing it, and probably not something that is a systematic issue, but that's why it's 4 stars and not 5.

This lamp base is cute, but the shade and attachmetns are VERY cheap. This is not going to be a long term keepsake. If you want some inexpensive decor, then this is for you. If you want a nice lamp that will transition from a baby's room into something you keep-then get something nicer. My lamp shade is crooked and I am afraid to play with it anymore because the metal is so low quality.

This was the best price I could find anywhere and the light is as described. It is attractive and went together with no problems at all. i was a little disappointed that it didn't throw more light but if you were painting on a canvas I suppose it would be perfect. Sadly, I was just looking for more ambient light than I got and I don't think I want to purchase the additional lights to go on the stand. The lamp and stand were easy to assemble and illumination was good. However it made an annoying continuous buzzing noise when I turned it on. My expectation was that the lamp would not make any noise. I returned it for a refund. No problem with that process.

This is really an awesome, very unique table lamp. When I purchased it, the description on Amazon and on Kenroy's website stated this lamp has a nightlight in the base. However I just received my lamps and there is no nightlight in the base. I called Kenroy and they stated that they discontinued that feature when they did their revision of the lamp and they failed to update their product description. This was very dissapointing because im sure this lamp would look really awesome with an led nightlight in the globe. Anyway this is still a really striking lamp except for the missing nightlight. Every now and then a product exceeds expectations! That is this lamp! This lamp is heavy duty and very cool! The lamp is designed for outdoor use so it has a heavy duty cord and an all weather push button switch. It also has a thick glass dome that fits as protection over the bulb. The shade has a nice cloth look and feel, but looks like it would stand up to outdoor use. I read one review that didn't care for the elastic securing the shade. The elastic makes it easy to take off and they include a second shade that allows a different look a dark shade for light colored walls and a white one for darker walls. I'm using this next to my bed and it looks amazing! I could see from the photo that this was a glass orb light, but what was unexpected was how cool the hand blown bubble glass looks up close! If you like how the photo looks, you will love this lamp!

The lamps arrived in good condition and were well packed. The lamps are very well made but there is not a nite light in the base and also the desciption states the lamp comes with two shades, one white linen and one dark brown, which as turns out you get a shade frame and two elastic trimmed slipcovers in the two colors that you pull over the frame. I planned to use them indoors at our coastal home because of the nautical theme but I'm not sure about the shade cover with elastic showing.

I received this lamp and am disappointed in poor workmanship. The jar is placed off center on the base and it has large gaps between two parts of the jar. In addition, the coloring and glazing are sloppy leaving gray areas around and underneath the jar.

The color is beautiful though and the lamp is large and makes a statement in my room. Too bad you can clearly see poor workmanship close up.

the lamp was just like it looked online, beautiful shade of turquoise blue. my only minor complaint

is that the turquoise glaze was missing on a section near the base . i had to turn the lamp to hide that flaw.

1. the lamp arrived damaged, the socket had been ripped off of the top of the lamp before it was even packed and was entirely missing. The remnant metal base was mangled. We had to take the lamp apart and install a new socket from the hardware store.

2. the picture does not accurately display what the lamp really looks like. The lamp is handsome enough but several more accurate pictures would be proper.

3. the listed height of 20" is wrong, it is 23" tall. The amazon listing should accurately describe all three dimensions.

I love this little light! It clips onto the top of my laptop and gives me just the lighting focus I need for my computer. I am limited for space so this light fits the bill perfectly.

I only gave it four stars because, although there is no problem with outward appearance (it is small and in no way detracts from decor around it), the construction of the "guts" could be improved. I had to jerry-rig the bulb area with aluminum foil to keep it from sliding out of its position. Since this is hidden away it doesn't really cause any problem asthetically -I just think if you're going to manufacture such a great little product you might as well do it with full quality. Even with this problem I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this item again because it really makes it so much easier on the eyes for working on my computer it sheds a perfect light that a table lamp or an overhead light just can't do.

So my advice to the manufacturer is charge a few more bucks and up the quality you've got a great little product here!
