The item description states it is a stained glass lamp shade. Completely false! The lamp shade was made of cheap plastic and the design was slightly different than shown in the picture. Buyer beware! On a side note, Amazon has been very cooperative and helpful with initiating the return process.

I purchased this fan, put it together and plugged it in the indoor outlet. It worked fine but when I plugged it in the outdoor outlet it kept tripping the GFI. After having an electrician out to fix what I thought was the problem the GFI he said the fan was defective and it could possibly cause a fire if I plugged it in the inside outlet where it worked. That is the reason it kept tripping the outdoor outlet. So check both outlets before throwing the box away.

Using lamp daily. Very adjustable easy to put together and powerful light. The switch could be better, but it is useful. The handle they put to move the light will get hot after the light has been on. But, anything close to a light source would be anyway. nice product.

I purchased this product for my 7 year old daughter and she loved it!! Yes, it's a nightlight but the wonderful thing about it is that it changes colors while it's on. I have purchased over the past few years five of these lamps, two recently from Amazon. So I have had the opportunity to use these lamps for a couple of years. The Grandrich lamps compare favorable to the much more expensive competitors like Verilux. The light is well balanced, bright, and pleasant. This is a great reading lamp.

Assembly of the lamp is easy and takes less than five minutes. All of these lamps have worked without incident right out of the box, and I have never had to return any of them.

Over the course of time I've had to replace a bulb. The bulbs in lamps of these types can be quite expensive. I thought the replacement bulbs purchased from Grandrich were quite reasonable.

I highly recommend this lamp to anyone considering purchasing a natural light lamp, and it is great for reading or doing craft work under it.

Would have given five stars for this very bright, sturdy lamp but the flexible portion of the lamp's neck does not stay in position well after it is adjusted. Primarily, it appears to be due to the fact that the head of the lamp is quite heavy and the neck is simply not sufficiently stiff to hold it firmly in position. Very nice other than that and I like the fact that the bulb does not get hot at all even after hours of operation.

I purchased my first one as a desk lamp, and it quit within the first year. I first noticed the problem when I had to switch it on several times before it would light. It finally quit totally. Thinking it was the bulb, I went back to the store where I purchased it, purchased a bulb, and several more lamps as they were having a closeout sale for nearly the same price as the new bulb. After replacing the bulb, the lamp would still not work. I determined that it was the ballast. I discarded that lamp and used one of the new ones. It is now about six months old and I am having the same problem. I tried calling Grandrich, and the number on the warranty is not a working number. I would be happy with this lamp if it were not for the cheap ballasts that they put in them. The two year warranty is worthless, since I can't get in touch with them. Besides, any DIY guy can replace the ballast himself for the about the price of the postage it would take to send it back, and have a much better lamp. Are they still in business?

we got the globe shipped to us.the lamp as not arrived yet. i thought it would all come at the same time. i checked the add again and it does say tiffany table lamp. so i believe that means more then just a globe... i guess if worse comes to worse i can put that globe on any lamp. that was the reasen i bought it..

I had been looking for a plug in swag style lamp to place over a small seating area in my living room. The wire and chain is long enough and swags nicely. It dresses the room up beautifly and gives off plenty of light (takes 3 60W bulbs). It has a modern but simple look and the double shade looks great.

Have been using it for last 4-5 months. Joined school which means lot of reading and laptop work, so I purchased albeit the price tag was high. So, far I found it decent. Bluish light, two brightness setting, reasonably stable on the table. This light is good for reading and laptop. But if you want light spread across a larger table, this is not the right one.

Update after 2 years of use: the plastic cover for the lamp got loose and keeps falling a nuisance. Otherwise, no complaints.

After reading the reviews and comparisons on the manufacturers web site, I thought I had found the perfect lamp to spend my many tedious hours examining fingerprints with.

Needless to say, I was quite disappointed to find that this lamp lacked the brightness that I had thought it would have. Even though this lamp has a two-way switch that enables one to change between a high & low lamp output... I found that I had to have the lamp closer to my work than I wanted in order to achieve the brightness that I required.

I also found the base to be somewhat "tippy" when the light portion of the lamp was not adjusted parallel the base.

In fairness to the manufacturer, this lamp did cast an even light that was comfortable to to read under for extended periods of time.

Would I buy this lamp again... probably not, especially at the retail prices they are selling for.

Purchased this lamp December 2007 from Amazon.com. It stopped working January 2009. Verilux honored the three year warranty, first by replacing the bulb (not the problem), then sending a new lamp. Defective one returned in the packaging that came with the new one. Impressed with the prompt customer service and have enjoyed the quality of the light.

This umbrella light is the cheapest thing to come out of China!! I am so disapointed. How can a company sell such junk...What a disgrace!

First of all, I have never taken the time to write a review, but if it will save just one person from this so called umbrella pole light...well, then this review will have done it's job!

Just by looking at it, it breaks...it seems to be held together by cheap plastic and miro-thin wire. Not worth one cent! If i could have given a no star rating I would have.

I am sending this back...and of course, it is at my expense!

My Mother had a similar product which she purchased at the local discount store a few years ago. After 3 summers of looking i finally, found this one and it works great. The LED lights provide great illumination, especially since I do not have a spotlight in the yard. It does take 4 AA batteries, but surprisingly, they do last for several hours stright, or at the very least a few nights out on the deck. Would purchase again and recomend to friends!
