About two months ago I bought two of these Lithonia Floodlights for two areas of my house to make it easier to see at night and for security purposes. I am very happy with this purchase. They are very reliable and emit a bright cool light (white/blue rather than white/yellow).

I will now provide you with some facts as noted on the box so I word it succinctly: As it explains on the box, the 22 watt LEDs have a life of 50,000 hours (each) compared to a typical 100 watt bulb that only lasts 3,000 hours. I am especially glad to be saving so much money over the year. In addition as noted the lower wattage (although comparably bright) saves on the electric bill, another plus.

The motion sensor is adjustable up to a 180 degree range and 70 feet with downward perimeter protection.

The lamp also has sensitivity and on-time adjustable knobs and the sensor has a manual override option. The two heads on the lamp are adjustable for light spread.

I am back to buy another one to replace a ten year old halogen fixture that has seen better days. It will be nice to not have to continually buy halogen bulbs anymore, too.

I ran into the blinking issue as well. I returned and got another thinking it was defective. The new light had the exact same problem. The problem is that the daylight sensor picks up the light when it turns on so it immediately turns off. The solution is turn the canisters so the protruding lip faces down. It should be aligned between the light canister and the motion sensor. This prevents the light from flooding onto the sensor. Worked like a charm. Note that it means you turn it opposite than all the marketing pictures I've seen for this product, including the one on Amazon. I subtracted a star because of the lack of instructions for this fix and that it was designed that way at all. However, I love having an LED and it behaves very well now. It's worth noting than you will see the standard blue hue of an LED light with this product.

I must be on my third motion security light in 8 years. Everything seems to be built like garbage lately. I decided to pay a little money for this highly rated one and the fact that the bulbs are LED may mean I don't have to keep crawling up the ladder to change bulbs. I've had it for 3 weeks now and it senses motion well and the light fills up my whole backyard as if it were one big light instead of two. If it has years of durability this will be the best light ever. I'm considering buying another one. Very satisfied so far.

Lights are installed by every indication according to instructions, but strobes continuously when activated by the motion detector. I have yet to get either of the 2 installed to stay on continuously, except in test mode. Lithonia customer service said light from the fixture was reflecting into the dusk-to-dawn sensor causing it to strobe and I should aim the lights away further from sensor and to reposition the motion detector head so that the sensor gets less light reflection. Not easy to do given the limited space under the angled eaves. Both professional installer & I are suspicious there is a design issue or sensor issue. Anyone with similiar problem?? I have 2 of the same fixture mounted on different parts of the house under the eaves and both have the same problem with strobing. Disabling the motion detector via the wall switch (per the instruction sheet) has no effect, the lights still strobe (which makes sense if it is the dusk-to-dawn sensor causing it to strobe).

I have purchased many, many motion detector lights for security and convenience over the years, but this was my first Lithonia purchase as well as my first LED light.

Compared to other lights for this purpose, LED or not, this is a well manufactured device. It worked correctly the first time only requiring some night time adjustment to get the lighting coverage I wanted. I did not have to repoint the motion detector at all after my initial pointing.

The output from the two LED heads which contain multiple LED's is very good when compared to other security lighting.

I installed it under the eave (easy to install) in the spring and the summer temperatures here in the Kansas City area have been in the 100's. So far not a problem at all with the light tolerating the direct sun exposure which far exceeded the high temps for the day. The white color reflects the sun light which also helps.

As usual, the Amazon ordering and receiving process was excellent.

In summary, a great purchase and I am going to get another one for the other side of the house this month.

This lamp is gorgeous and has dignity about it. My only comment is they claim to have an "Oil Rubbed Bronze Finish" -these things are clearly made of wood and I didn't see one bit of bronze on them -still I'm quite happy happy with them and they look fabulous.

These lamps are wonderful. I use them for crafting although they're also great for anything you would need a clear bright light (doing your nails?). I have a few of these portable ones for taking to crops, retreats, friend's houses ... and for providing any guest who comes over to my house to craft. They are small, lightweight and highly portable ... open the light and it turns on, close the "lid" and it turns off. genius? ooh ... I just thought ... I should put one here by my pc ... my under-the-built-in-cabinet lightbulb keeps burning out and it's a pain to replace (I'm being polite!).

The OttLite lamps are always the best for desks and studying. However, I was a bit disappointed with the sheer bulk of this lamp. It's a lot bigger than I thought it would be, and the hinge prevents the lamp from elongating.

Lamps were a bit smaller than I had expected but this was my own fault for not looking at the dimensions.

Aside from that they are great. They use a push through type of on off button rather than a rotating knob. The materials are nice and don't show dust despite a lack of dusting.

The shade nuts do have a tendency to loosen as you end up bumping into them to reach the on off switch.

My Mother ordered two of these pink lamps for my pre-teen daughter for Christmas. One of the lamps came without a shade and the other one came with the shade dented (I didn't have the heart to tell my Mom about the dents!). Amazon was great and allowed my Mom to order a new one and send back the one without the shade. When my Mom brought over the replacement the shade was dented yet again. So fustrating again don't have the heart to have my Monm take care of it again. Web page said no led's included. Seller told they are included, and they were. Item was a return though which did not make me happy, ie no paperwork inside box. Unit was fine though and works, only thing I did not count on was the bottom swivil is tightend with an allen wrench instead of like the top which used a lever.

We are quite interested in this lamp but in the Amazon presentation there are three different numbers presented for its height; 29 in., 13.5 in., and 20 in. Which height is correct? I went to the Flare Light company's website but I was unable to find the lamp there to determine its actual height. I also went to the vendor's website, Alcove Lighting where I found a similar lamp but with a slightly different globe and it was 20 in. in height. Something needs to be changed here! It is an attractive lamp but height is critical to us.

PS: Light Source replied to my email very promptly to tell me that the lamp was, in fact, 20 inches high.

Buy MLCS 9089 Billy Pedal Foot Switch, 2 Step ON/OFF(Continuous Running)

This is a great extra feature for my older model, one-speed scrollsaw. There is a sticker on the box that says "2-step on/off" ... and at first I thought I bought the wrong thing. I had wanted the kind that you press your foot on to operate, and then it automatically turns off when you release the foot pressure. THIS IS NOT THAT TYPE OF FOOTSWITCH. (I think that's called a deadman switch). But, lucky for me ... I like this one better. I prefer to work standing up and be able to move around a little for a better view or grip ... which means I can't always keep my foot on the pedal.

This is the switch where you step on it once to turn it on, and it stays on. You have to click it again, in order to turn the power off. As it turned out, this works better for me. Either way, you can turn it on or off and keep your hands on your woodwork.

It would be great if I could get a variable speed foot switch that would allow me to speed up or slow down the blade as I worked. My Scrollsaw is a Delta 40-530, which has only one speed, which is pretty dang fast. (The saw is over 10 years old. 1/10 HP, 120 volts, 1.8 Amps). If anyone knows if a variable switch would allow me to slow the speed down, the way a sewing machine pedal works, I would really appreciate your advice in the comments. Thanks!

I have just returned this product. The switch was working well until, after less than a month of use, it quit. I took the unit apart and found that a tiny REALLY TINY white piece of plastic was what connected the top of the foot switch to the electrical device. It was the trigger that make the switch go on and off. That pice of plastic had broke. IF they had made the switch with a metal piece instead of plastic the thing might have lasted a lifetime. This will forever be a mystery to me. Why would a designer make a critical part that will take stress both small and plastic? Why not increase the diameter of the part (in this case very easy to do) and make it out of something that will last? The plastic part was about 1/16 of an inch square, maybe less. Why? A 1/4 inch piece of good plastic would probably last 10 years. A 1/4 inch piece of quality metal would last forever. What would that cost? Maybe another dollar or two max? Incredible.

This is a simple review because it's a simple product. You plug any standard electrical plug (either grounded or not) into this pedal, and then plug the pedal's cord into the wall, and when you step on the pedal it turns your device on or off. It's perfect and I've used it for all sorts of projects. I think it was made for a Bridgeport machine or some other machine-shop device, but it works great for just about anything.

Received this as a Christmas gift. It's a great light, but the quality is poor. The on/off switch doesn't always work. When I replaced the batteries, two different national brands would not reach the positive contacts, which are too deep in the holder. It is not "all metal construction", as the light head is plastic, and there are no screws or obvious way to get into it to try to push the contacts further out. The battery cover doesn't hold the batteries down tight enough, so they sometimes lose contact (this is with the batteries that came with it which have slightly longer positive terminals than the US brand AAA's). The head is also starting to pull away from the arm and loosen, after just a week or two of use. Hopefully the replacement I am requesting on warranty will be better.

Bottom line, with all the LED's this should be a great light but the cheap "Made in China" construction just doesn't cut it.

I must echo the previous review. It worked great until you had to replace the batteries. Even though my AAA batteries were made in China , the positive post would not make contact. My light is slightly over four months old and now is a paperweight. Bottom line---when the batteries expire so does the ability to use this light.

This lamp is really quite stunning. There is a little hint of blue leaves (which doesn't show up in the pictures), but it looks great together with the other colors. The only thing I'll note is that given the 60W max bulb requirement, this lamp doesn't give a whole lot of light. Still, it's very pretty and offers some nice ambiance to a room.
