I really do like this lamp, but would not have paid 98.00 for it, which is the current price. I found in Warehouse deals for 20.00. There's nothing wrong with it at all, just appears to be a return, since the tape on the styrofoam box had been re-sealed.

It's okay quality, not great, but a good deal for 20.00. The base is a resin/composite type material, and the metal 'stem' is fairly heavy quality looks just like the photo shown.

I can not recommend any Tensor or Catalina lighting product due to their horrendous customer service! If you attempt to contact them about a warranty issue, they promise they will take care of it, but they never send you the paperwork necessary to process the return.When I called their customer service department in Canada to complain, they got extremely nasty saying "its only a light" and "I do not get paid enough to deal with these problems" In summary I believe that Catalina/ Tensor products are poorly made, and the company does not stand behind its products

I use the tensor modelFS125 on top of the elevated back of my computer desk. The quality is excellent with relatively low wattage. I would purchase another if they were available.

I bought two Tensor floor lamps which had Mica-like lamp heads. I used only the specified 50-100-150 single bulbs. We noticed a smell and hint of smoke and discovered that the bulb was melting and had blackened the lamp head. We had a hard time finding how to contact Catalina Lighting (no phone number) but finally contacted the customer rep. After many days, they acknowledge the issue (sent them pictures) but will no longer respond. We complained to the South Florida BBB but they already have may complaints against them and never respond (according to the BBB). My opinion, it the products say Tensor or Catalina Lighting, move on to another product that won't catch fire and with a vendor that will stand behind their products!

Nothing bad to say about this lamp at all. Does the job it's supposed to do, turns on and gives off light. The neck is flexible, but I don't use that feature all that much. Very good quality.

The finish was a little more of a light tan than the dark brown/bronze that was pictured, but it was actually a perfect match for my room. The base of the light twist around the top of the lamp, not sure if this was a broken unit or if they're all manufactured that way. Pleased with the appearance. Make sure to get a 3-way bulb to make full use of the lamp.

This lamp is as described in the product details. That being said I should have paid more attention to the description and maybe looked at a ruler. It is resin which isn't really a problem but the lamp was more diminutive than I had expected which puts the light source lower than I had intended. The color looks good with taupe and burgundy and the shade looks like a grainy silk shantung. I am guessing its polyester. The shade is too nice for the lamp itself as the detail on the lamp is a bit rough. The finial at the tip is 2 inches tall, the lamp from base to top of shade is 23 inches. The circumference of the widest area of the shank of the lamp is about 9 inches with maybe a diameter of around 3 inches or a little less. The lamp has decent hardware and the bulb screwed in without problem and stays solidly lit. It looks good where I put it in a bedroom beside a bed but not sized for a living room. The lamp shade came collapsed and I had to insert the metal spines which wasn't hard as every thing just snaps in place as expected. Every thing was well packaged for shipping and prime made the shipping easy.

From the picture online, the lamp looks really good, but in person it looks extremely cheap, like I should have only paid $10 for it. The thing is dimmer than my $15 lamp. The light that is not being covered by the shade is intense while the shaded like is dark enough that a noticeable light ring appears at about a 2 to 2 1/2 foot radius.

This fixture looks far more expensive than it is. It is absolutely gorgeous. The off-black scrolls and ribs with gold edges are satin finish and very open with a lovely flow. The bowl is wonderfully rich and pebbly. The bowl color is a dark ecru when the light is off (similar to travertine), and a warm amber when the light is on.

The only thing I might request as an improvement to the design is to put four scroll sections around it instead of just three because with only three, it looks quite different from every angle and sometimes you see very little scroll work. But I do like the assymmetry of three.. and five would be too many.

Totally worth all the effort it took to get it installed...and it was an effort.

It is the most complex fixture I've ever assembled as it has many components and you need to ensure you align all the scrollwork connections on three different screw-on pieces at top, middle and bottom.

Also the piping is very tight for the cord, so you have to check that it isn't stressed, twisted or the sheathing gashed.

I had to order a 2nd one of this fixture because the first one had a short in the light kit that fried two dimmer switches and a powerline network adapter before we confirmed it was the fixture.

The cable sheathing was pretty beat up out of the box on both fixtures. So I basically unassembled what was pre-assembled to untwist the cable completely throughout and examine it. Because of the issues I had with the first one, I taped the 2nd one's cord with electrical tape, running the tape vertically and folding it around so it would not add bulk. I just wanted to ensure the wires were well sheathed. The 2nd one had no issues.

I have this over a 36 x 71" table and the proportion is perfect. I have the bottom of the glass bowl (excluding the finial) 30" above the table, with an 8' ceiling. That's on the low side, but I like pendants around there. I used 8 chain links. 6 chain links would probably be a more standard height.

Tips:

This is a heavy fixturea lot of metal and the glass bowl is very large and thick glass. Make sure your electical box and crossbar are well supported by a joist. I happened to use a pancake box because I needed it centered directly under a joist, so not only is the box secured to a joist, but so is the crossbar.

When installing, you can keep all 6 scrolls, the bowl and the bottom finial assembly off the fixture to keep it light and easy to manage alone. Then add the rest later in place. You need someone to help you with the bowl.

I strongly recommend if you are using an expensive dimmer with this, to first test it with a cheap basic switch, and once confirmed that it is working fine, put the dimmer in.

The scroll work is all optional. Add none, just the top level or all six to the fixture. I love it all decked out!

Good assortment of protective bumpers and pads. A felt pad has come off one of the stools but the 6 chairs and 2 other stools it has stayed on. I use the chairs and stools for holidays. The felt ones have been displaced on an ottoman that I move around often; with that much moving around though I am not suprised. The vinyl bumpers are some of the best vinyl bumpers for cabinets. I also use on doors to dampen noise as I close them.

I forget what I paid exactly (I think it was less than 14) but I was pleased with price.

The picture of the product currently varies from when I had ordered; mine had few more dark brown felt pads.

I own a commercial interior design company and purchase a lot of $100-$150 lamps for modern/contemporary office use. This one is pretty decent. It is heavy and pretty well made -especially the shade. I did not find any of the issues described here except the cardboard and foam packaging is Chinese. It's does the job and then goes in the garbage. The overall quality is a little better than Lite Source and Kenroy and about the same as Possini. We plan to buy more of these at this price point.

We ordered two for our bedside tables. Shipping time was abnormally long and very poor communication from supplier when we tried to locate shipment. Packaging was in very poor quality cardboard cartons and styrofoam both of which seem to disintegrate in your hands leaving a mess. The wood is actually resin painted very poorly. The resin casting was sloppy leaving ragged hard resins edges that the manufacturer made no attempt to sand smooth. The felt bottom was slapped on leaving one ragged resin ridge unprotected and ready to gouge wood tops. The poorly attached metal trim had broken loose in shipment and was unsightly. All in all a shoddy product from an unprofessional supplier.

We needed these for a parade float. (Actually needed four.) The first one we ordered came in but a few of the mirrors on the disco ball were broken where it had apparently been dropped. Because it wouldn't be seen close-up, we simply kept it.

Then we ordered several more. Two of the next four that arrived had problems with the motor. One made a clicking sound but didn't turn (dead on arrival) and the second one didn't make any noise at all. It simply didn't work. The other two worked fine. So now we have three that turn and two defective ones. We need four, so we ordered two more.

I'll up date this once the two new ones arrive. (We ordered two because we need one that works. With our track record so far we're hoping that at least one that arrives is good.)

I'll also let you know if the company takes a return back on the two units that arrived with no working motor.

And the reason we gave it four stars, even though so many have arrived broken? Because the ones that arrived working, really do look cool and we're excited how they appear on our float.

This mirror ball doesn't give the effect you expect. The box was so lightweight, I couldn't believe the ball was inside. Spend a little extra on a different one so you're not disappointed.

Web page said no led's included. Seller told they are included, and they were. Item was a return though which did not make me happy, ie no paperwork inside box. Unit was fine though and works, only thing I did not count on was the bottom swivil is tightend with an allen wrench instead of like the top which used a lever.

This is a super gift for yourself or for anyone who loves and collects cat decor. I have the small one. It doesn't move lots of air, but it's all about the look. I've given one as a house present and two others for birthday gifts. Recipients were surprised and happy. It's kitschy but subtle.

I like this smaller size for the cat -it looks more natural than the larger one. The measurements given (7 x 8) are just for the blade housing I think. The whole piece is more than a foot tall. I have, however, given two of the large sized dogs to dog lovers. There are now new cat variations and many other figures by DecoBreeze, but this is still my favorite.
