Lite Source C6857 Neka Floor Lamp, Antique Bronze with Tiffany Shade Reviews
We bought this lamp thinking it was just a beautiful design of varying shades of blue. That is what the photo showed. It is actually a much more multi-colored design of six gold/green/blue mallard ducks flying up from a patch of green reeds and red catttails, with blue lake, mountains and sky in the background. Very colorful. Very sturdy base. And I like ducks. Just not on a tiffany-style lamp. But we will find a place for it. And if you position the shade just so, you don't see the ducks right away. Please get a better photo.

Buy 14 Inch Angel Touch Lamp
This lamp was a gift for my mother's 70th birthday. She collects angels and this was a perfect addition to her collection. While the lamp is a little short to use on a bedside table or for reading, it is a nice accent on the desk and serves as a night light in the evening.

Not quite as tall as I expected, but I was happy about that. Uses two smaller bulbs (chandelier type bulbs) instead of a larger bulb. Gives off a perfect amount of light for a desk or cubicle (which is what I am using it for), and looks very well made and industrial. Switch to turn it on and off is on the actual wire. Would not recommend for a night stand or for a end table, but for what it is, it is perfect for what I need it for.

This lamp is really cute. I bought two of them for my living room and they look awesome in it. It is exactly as pictured. I love that it came with bulbs. It does require assembly, but I didn't even use the directions and set it up in under 3 minutes. I will update if anything goes wrong but don't see that happening. It is truly great quality.Best Deals for Design Fidelity Halo Table Lamp

Not much to say really. The title says it all. One thing I will note, as I did not know this ahead of time (and fortunately did not find out the hard way), you are supposed to keep these sort of items away from sensitive electronic equipment. Bear that in mind when purchasing an electra lamp; you'll need to put it at a distance to anything electronic you don't want hosed up.
Enjoy!

I agonized literally for months over whether to buy this lamp because it's so incredibly expensive. But after about 9 months of coming back to look at it again and again...I decided that yes, I was really crazy enough about it to fork out that kind of money. And, I'm happy to report, the lamp is AMAZING in person. Totally worth all the agonizing and waiting. :)
It's solid and very well-made and the stones on the lampshade are incredible, especially when lit up in the evening. Totally completes the room!

Reviews of Clip-on Bright 2 LED Reading Light for Amazon Kindle 3
Very good purchase as I can now read the Kindle while watching TV in bed without having the lights on. Gives a nice view with one or two LED bulbs. I find one is sufficient and two is even better.It is exactly what I was expecting. Good light and small and practical. It was a very good purchase, I strongly recommend this product.

Cheap Corrina, Corrina (1994)
I've been wanting to buy this movie on DVD for myself for such a long time, and I finally did the other day. I just watched it tonight. It's still as great as it was the many over times I've watched it.
Corrina, Corrina is a heartwarming film that's heartbreaking romantic, and all around a joy to watch. Whoopi Goldberg plays a nanny who is hired by an Athiest (Ray Liotta) to look after his 7 year old girl, Molly. It takes some time getting used to Corrina and her religous beliefs (because she'd tell Molly that her mother, who had recently passed away, was in Heaven and the father told Corrina not to be telling Molly such things because he and his deceased wife were Athiest), but in the end, the father comes to accept Corrina's intentions and find what's best for his daughter. There are some heartbreaking moments in the film that will have tears running down your cheeks, but there are also moments where you'll be laughing your sorrow away. This movie is pretty much perfect. When Molly's mother died, she became miserable and wouldn't talk to anyone. She wouldn't say one word. But, when Corrina came into her life, Molly slowly became her fun old self and she began glowing once again. This is a great film to watch over and over again and you'll never grow tired of it.
I've watched this movie so many times, I've memorized dialogue and gestures. It's part of my own video library. Watching Corrina, Corrina always guarantees I'll be smiling and feeling lighthearted by the time the final credits roll. The music is superb (I bought the soundtrack) and always gets me singing and popping my fingers.
Some of my favorite moments are when Whoopi steps off the bus and grinds out her cigarette with her pointy-toed shoe; the scene at the drive-in diner with Patrica Darbo (love her accent); the magic stoplights; Lois and "Queen for a Day"; the beautiful scene where Corrina and Molly are listening to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and Manny is looking out over the city; when Corrina and Percy stick their tongues out at each other; when Corrina dangles a chandelier piece from her ear and tells Molly "No we can't; we simply can't"; when Manny mistakenly calls Corrina Molly's mother; when Manny wins the Bromide account but Jenny spoils the moment; when Molly calls Corrina and the dog is between Corrina and Anthony; when Manny puts his arm around Corrina while Molly's flying the kite; when Manny and Corrina kiss while dancing; when Manny kisses Corrina outside her sister's house.
Okay, so I liked ALL the moments! Anyway, one final tidbit. When TNN first showed the movie, they interviewed Jessie Nelson, the writer, director, and producer (I think). She said that the story was based on her life. Her widowed father hired a black housekeeper, and young Jessie wished they would get married and the housekeeper would be her new mom.
I wish the romantic storyline had been more developed; but what little was there was done beautifully and tenderly by Liotta and Goldberg. I read somewhere that Whoopi really wanted to play the love interest for Liotta and advised Nelson not to hire a Halle Berry-type (read beautiful black woman). Her reason was because she wanted to show that someone as handsome as Liotta could really fall for a woman who society may not think of as externally beautiful but who is exceptionally beautiful on the inside.
After Manny Singer's wife's death, he and his young daughter Molly are left alone to cope with their loss. After interviewing a number of unsuitable and eccentric applicant's as for the job of nanny, he chooses Corrina Washington. Corrina is far too qualified for the job. She is a college graduate with dreams of writing liner notes for jazz albums. But she is born too early, for she is an African-American woman, and it is 1950s America.
Being an optimist with a strong faith, Corrina becomes Molly's nanny. In the process, she changes the lives of both Manny and Molly. Love blooms effortlessly between the three. Molly sees Corrina as a new mother. Corrina and Manny see beyond one ano-
ther's skin color. They listen to one another. Their tastes in music and their outlook are similar. They fall in love to Molly's glee. But their families and 1950s America is not ready for their romance.
All of the actors in this movie were attractive. Whoopi Goldberg never looked better. Ray Liotta's looks and whole demeanor took my breath away. I think it was very courageous to cast Goldberg and Liotta together as love interests. Seeing them together in the film, made me wish that they were a couple in real life. Tina Majorina was precious, and one of the best child actors I have ever seem. I have been waiting to see her in more films ever since I first saw her in Corrina, Corrina.
Corrina, Corrina is a nearly flawless film for the whole family.

This little gem from 1994 is one of the best smile-inducing films I've ever seen. Ray Liotta's turn as an ad man circa 1950s is tender. Like Robin Williams, Whoopie Goldberg is known for her comedy yet lets us experience all the other human emotions when she performs in a movie like this. I don't know how many times I've seen this and still I let all my feelings go! I appreciate Ray Liotta'a performance more than any of his because it's so gentle. And Tina Marjorino is absolutely precious. This movie delves into more than you even realize watching it the first few times and I think I'll find more and more in the future. Very few movies are worth watching so many times--it'll rip at your heart and make you happy to be alive all at once. I am thankful for this movie.Honest reviews on Corrina, Corrina (1994)
I have only seen about 4 or 5 feature movies starring Whoopi Goldberg and even less with Ray Liotta. Of these few, Corrina, Corrina is my favorite. Corrina, Corrina is a movie with so many heartwarming moments. It is also in the rare category of movies made in the last 2 decades which actually teaches a number of lessons. The lessons in Corrina, Corrina deal with loss, love, giving, hope, faith, art, beauty, optimism, racism, and forgiveness.After Manny Singer's wife's death, he and his young daughter Molly are left alone to cope with their loss. I found this film so funny and entertaining, i liked the fact that it delved into serious subjects in a light way, rather than making the whole story about racism, interracial relations, or death. it concentrated more on the relationship between the three main characters, making it a family film instead of another drama with unhappy endings.Thursday, January 30, 2014

The material is quite solid and sturdy (doesn't look cheap), and the overall look of the lamp is very smoothing for the bedroom. Overall very happy with my purchase.The base is metal and the middle post is quite think and noticeable. It's a nice lamp but if you are looking for a crystal base this is not it. It was perfect ... Grandson loves it! Fit the theme of his room ... Airplanes! He thought it was unique!
I believe the description says the lower half of the lamp is black when in fact it's brown. I bought it because it was black...I like it so much though, I think I'm just going to paint it black. Another discrepancy between the description and the actual lamp is the light bulb max wattage. The description says something like up to 100w while the sticker on the lamp says 40w max. Also, The lamp calls for candelabra bulbs...no mention of that in the description. So, if you like it in spite of all these things...buy it...it's a nice lamp.
On the description it says they use a 150 watt 3-way bulb which is not included. However, both lamps did include a smaller bulb that doesn't give as much light as I need for reading. I bought them expecting to be able to use a 150 watt bulb, which I haven't purchased yet. I'm hoping the 150 watt bulb will work in them.
Overall, they are nice lamps and I like their "look."

I ordered two of these for my apartment living room. They are a little shorter than I expected, but when I re-read the product description, the lamp height is exactly as described. Style wise, they are very nice and complement my contemporary decor perfectly. They are a little light weight so tip over more easily than I like, but the fairly broad base compensates some for the lack of weight.On the description it says they use a 150 watt 3-way bulb which is not included. However, both lamps did include a smaller bulb that doesn't give as much light as I need for reading. I bought them expecting to be able to use a 150 watt bulb, which I haven't purchased yet. I hesitated to buy this lamp given that several other people reviewed it negatively but my husband and I really wanted a touch-on lamp and I like how it looks so I decided to take a chance. Bad move: it worked for 10 minutes and then shorted out. Avoid this product!Saturday, December 28, 2013
Review of SmartLight Study Lamp
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $43.44
Sale Price: $39.28
Today's Bonus: 10% Off

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Verilux SmartLight is a little more than a foot tall, comes on instantly with the flick of the switch and provides a nice daylight color light. I like the white exterior (with gray trim around the lighting head), tends to go with anything. My studio is almost all white anyway as I need as much light as possible. Not thrilled with the material that the neck is made from, seems a little thin and cheap. I was hoping the entire neck was flexible instead of just the top portion. There's a handy instruction booklet in case you don't know how to put the bulb in, plug the lamp in or turn it on. As well, you are instructed as to the dangers of water and electricity, standard liable stuff for their own protection.
At the back of the booklet there is an order form for another bulb. At a whopping $19.95 plus $6.95 shipping and fondling, I think I'll use another source. In case you need to order one and you've lost the booklet, you can get the CFML27VLX bulb much cheaper at other online outlets, including lightexports dot com (price: 11.75 including shipping if in the U.S.).
Good Points:
* Bright, medium white light
* Comes on instantly, no flickering
* Decent price
* Fairly long cord
* Solid, heavy base
* Nice, clean-line design in a good size
Not-so-good Points:
* Cheap plastic around goose neck
* No hi/lo settings on light to provide ambient light when not in use
* Neck not adjustable over entire length, only top portion
* Bulb not packaged well when it arrived, was loose in bag
* Bulb far too expensive from manufacturer
All in all, not a bad little light, but could be improved with total goose neck and better materials. Three stars.
Updated Note from October 20th
The light has already stopped working. It now needs to be 'banged' on the top for the light to turn on, and sometimes the light flickers for brief periods before stabilizing.
I purchased a new bulb (low low price of almost $20 here at Amazon) to see if this would fix the problem, but it did not.
I was impressed as soon as I opened the box. This light is nice to look at and it is the perfect size for my computer table or my side table. The light part where the bulb is measures approximately 10 inches. The neck of the lamp measures approximately 14 inches, the flexible part of the neck measures approximately 8 inches and the base is approximately 8x5.5 x 1
I have found that as I get older I prefer to have a lot of light, not only to read by but for any project and even watching TV. The best part about this light is that on a cloudy gloomy day this can make your room look as though the sun is shining in the windows. I love it!
This Verilux light is bright but not blinding. If I keep the gooseneck straight up I can illuminate the whole room or I can angle the gooseneck down and have it concentrate in one area. The base is light yet substantial that you can't accidentally knock it over should you bump into it.
The cord is long enough to accommodate several locations in my house and overall this is the perfect size in height as well.
The light comes with an instruction book and in the back is an order form for a new bulb which runs 19.99 plus 6.95 shipping and handling. This is a nice inclusion because then I don't have to search all over the web to find it when it comes time to replace it.
Will this light help make your kid (or you) smarter, as the name implies? Probably not. But in studying algebra or learning to play piano, or just about any other endeavor requiring focus and concentration, I always look for some kind of edge. SmartLight certainly provides an edge in visibility by increasing contrast and reducing fatigue. I'm looking forward to it lighting the way as I continue to advance my jazz piano career.
The best feature of this lamp is the quality and brightness of the light. I can't even count the number of lamps I've had that require me to pick up papers or books and reposition them under the light so that I can see the print. Not necessary with this lamp. It casts light over a generous portion of my desk (thereby increasing my workspace, especially at night), and the light is bright, comfortable and steady.
The lamp is hefty enough that you don't have to worry about knocking it off the desk when you move the neck around. And speaking of necks, the flexibility is dramatic. You can lift the head of the lamp up, down or to either side to illuminate another portion of the room. (The flexible necks on some lamps have an extremely limited range of motion. Not this one!)
Finally, I should address the cost of the replacement bulbs. Yes they are expensive at $19.95 (assuming you do not want to buy off-brand), but I've had two floor lamps, one for over 7 years (!) and I have yet to replace a bulb.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is a nicely designed desk lamp that supposedly uses 'daylight' simulating bulbs. The key point of that fact is that students in public school that work under natural light conditions instead of florescent lighting conditions tend to do better academically and with behavior. I am a public school teacher and fully agree that natural light is better when available. This light is very nice, but I doubt that it will help your child perform better at school unless he or she drags it around with them. At home, it should do the trick very nicely.Updated Note from October 20th

Honest reviews on SmartLight Study Lamp
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is a handy, compact, versatile lamp that I have to say, I liked right away. Although I'm not using it for studying, I am using it for learning: I put it on my piano to light my lead sheets and practice books, and it worked to perfection. It is a very bright light that is easy to angle and twist, but it stays still and steady next to the music stand. For my almost 50-year old eyes, it provided a good contrast that really does seem to make the music a little easier to see (as compared to my daylight simulating OttLite L24554 Task Plus High-Definition 24-Watt Floor Lamp, Dove Grey). I did notice, too, that my eyes didn't fatigue as much or as fast while using this light. The plastic is a little cheap feeling, but I haven't had any problems with it. I would prefer something maybe just a little heavier, but that, too, is a minor complaint at best.Will this light help make your kid (or you) smarter, as the name implies? Probably not. Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I love this lamp. I've had the floor lamp version for years. I'm not sure why I waited so long to add the desktop model to my collection.The best feature of this lamp is the quality and brightness of the light.

Exactly what I needed. Had it on my bookshelf until my other bulb died out so I moved this one to my desk. It's extremely bright, different colored light than normal lamps bc this one is an LED light and runs off batteries. Extremely portable, somewhat small but means it doesn't take up a lot of space, and allows me to rep the falcons all year long with my wall clock. Awesome buy!
But a big light!!
My Falcon Fan was very pleased with this for Christmas 2010!!
