We bought this lamp thinking it was just a beautiful design of varying shades of blue. That is what the photo showed. It is actually a much more multi-colored design of six gold/green/blue mallard ducks flying up from a patch of green reeds and red catttails, with blue lake, mountains and sky in the background. Very colorful. Very sturdy base. And I like ducks. Just not on a tiffany-style lamp. But we will find a place for it. And if you position the shade just so, you don't see the ducks right away. Please get a better photo.

I purchased this lamp for my mother's birthday (she lives by the shore) and she was extremely excited and satisfied. My mother smiled from ear to ear when she received the delivery. The lamp was so beautiful that even though she can't visit the beaches as much anymore she can see the beautiful seashell look from this lamp. Now whenever she walks into her bedroom she smiles with joy.

Cheap 72" Metal Black Finish Pool Table Light Billiard lamp

The look of this thing is awesome... We put it in our church pool room above the pool table and it looks great... There are really just two minor complaints I have...

The first is that the actual wiring wire was fairly short. Our connection point in the ceiling wasn't in the center of the room, so we have the two chains that go straight up, and then there is this goofy wire that kinda goes the opposite way... Thankfully our ceiling is black so it does hide pretty well.

The second thing is that the lamp shades start to get a bit uneven if they get bumped this is a very small nit pick, and shouldn't be a big deal to most, but again, this is in a youth room at a church, and it gets banged up probably way more than most people ever would.

Overall though a decent HUGE light!

I love this lamp. It is now by far my favorite Christmas decoration. The lamp feels sturdy and well made. Leg is plastic, which I don't mind, it works and feels good for the lamp. Real stocking (completely awesome), but the lamp shade is by far my favorite. Absolutely excellent quality there. I've seen a lot of leg lamps, but none as good as this. It comes well packaged and protected. I really wouldn't mind leaving this gem up year round. It does seem a little pricy, but for what you get it is really worth it if you are a fan of A Christmas Story. So good, I'll be purchasing one for my sister.

Although not part of the review for the lamp I did want to put this in here about Christmas Vacation Collectibles (seller). When I received my lamp because the fishnet stocking can be delicate I noticed that one of the lines got clipped somehow. Because it is fishnet it was easily noticeable (looked like a bigger hole in one area). I sent CVC a picture of the small spot and asked what could be done. They shipped out another leg lamp that SAME DAY and included a return mailing label to send the bad one back. You don't often find that kind of customer service anymore and I found it worth mentioning.

Because of the delicate nature of the stocking and shade, I'd recommend keeping the boxes it comes in for attic storage. That will definitely help cut back on any type of accident or snags you might acquire otherwise. Posted picture of my leg lamp with both lights on sitting on end table.

My wife spotted this lamp somewhere online and liked the "stones." We had been looking for a pair of table lamps for a while, and didn't find anything we really liked in the stores, so we decided to order one of these from Amazon. (We didn't want to order both lamps until we saw one.)

We got the lamp pretty quickly, and it looks nice. As another reviewer noted, the color of the "stones" is lighter than they appear in the Amazon photo, and the color is a bit varied (there was even a hint of purple mixed in). There are a couple of other differences from the photo:

1. The "stones" are glossy ceramic and don't really look like stones, but we like how they look anyway.

2. The shade has a bit of sheen that doesn't show in the photo, but we like that too.

We ordered the second lamp, which took a bit longer to arrive than the first, and unfortunately the bulb holder in the lamp base was broken. The bulb holder can be folded down for shipping, but the plastic had broken and snapped off (probably during packing). I requested an exchange online, and Amazon shipped out a new one without waiting for me to return the old one (I sent it back the same day I got it anyway). As expected, I didn't have to pay any shipping charges in either direction.

I got the replacement lamp in a few days, and fortunately this one was intact. One thing about the replacement: The colors on the base are lighter and a little different than those in the first lamp we got. They still go together well, but this color variation might bother some people who order more than one lamp. The broken lamp's color was more like the first lamp.

I was happy with how Amazon handled the return, and I've had great customer service from them on a couple of other items I ordered recently.

Lamp arrived in two days! Kind of amazing. It's very nice. The "stones" are a little bit lighter in shade than the picture; the bottom two are light brown, the small ones are dark brown, but I was happy with that.

I collect both traditional as well as laughing Buddha statues. This is one that I purchased for my laughing Buddha collection as kind of a novelty. It is an interesting lamp and lets face it electricity lamps like this are just cool. Everyone that comes over and sees it wants to touch it. Its kind of funny to watch people almost hypnotize themselves by touching the globe at the top and interacting with the electricity that follows your fingers.

This thing is pretty durable. You are suppose to be careful with it but this thing has survived being put up in storage and being knocked over a few times with no problems. The actual statue part is made out of plastic and there is a switch on the cord to turn it on and off without unplugging it. Since the globe is blue glass it lights up your room with blue light.

I purchased the first plasma/electric lamp like this years ago and its nice that you can still find them around.

For $50 this should be better quality. The issue I have is that the two lines of string the connect the matchstick bamboo are not very straight and are glued in place. This isn't a huge issue for me and I'm happy with my purchase but the quality seems more a $20 dollar lamp. I would buy more of them if they cost less.

I have seen similar items in little Tokyo in Los Angeles for about 35 dollars but they are smaller and the covering is some type of paper with a design or lettering on it. What I like about this one is that it is taller and the thing that you really cannot see from the picture is that the covering is bamboo. You can barely see that there are approximately 100 plus bamboo strands tied together by string horizontally on each side which I find very attractive. the light it gives off is enough to give a 8 x 10 room enough light but remember, you are limited to the socket size which is about a 60 watt light. I have several Bonsai trees in my room in one corner and when I turn the light on( a one and off switch), it adds a real subtle ambiance. If you have any questions about this item. I must say that when I saw this I fell in love....when it arrived I loved it even more, however, as Olson mentioned it is not a perfect product. As I was looking at mine I also noticed that some of the bamboo strands were not even, noticeably so, this is right out of the box mind you, and for the 50ish that was paid for it you would expect them to be straight on all sides. That said, one side is great, and I have put that side facing out (the product is against a wall) so you can't even really see the crooked bamboo strands on the sides or the back unless you look at it closely. Oh and when the light is on, it makes seeing the flaws harder as most people won't stare at it for more than a few seconds at a time with the light on. In short, the product would be perfect without the flaws...I expected better quality for the amount I paid, but, it is a great product and it meets my needs, so I won't be bothering with the return process or anything.....though I was very much tempted to do so. I would buy this same product from them again, and possibly other products as well....so far at least.

This lamp is really gorgeous. I looked at a lot of Tiffany lamps from a lot of sources before settling on this one. From the description it seemed to combine a great price point with a really good looking lamp. The reality of it did not disappoint. If anything I got more than I expected. The lamp is heavy and solid and well constructed. The shade is simply beautiful. When I took it out to put it together I was instantly wowed. The pictures don't do it justice. I bought this lamp for Mom's birthday. It's just beautiful and she loves it. It looks even better lit up than it does in the picture: imagine all the colors just glowing from the lightbulbs and you'll know what I mean. The colors are vibrant, especially the blues, but not garish. It has a heavy bottom, so it definitely won't tip over, but picking it up could be a problem for weaker folks. Highly recommended!

After it's all together, it looks amazing. We put two of them over our dining room table and we've had sooo many compliments. Why did I rate it 4 out of 5, you may ask? It comes with barely any instructions. You need to use your handyman skills and, like us, go back once or twice and correct what you've done wrong. But if you are looking for step by step instructions how to put it together, you won't find it.

On the positive side, there are soooo many extra pieces of crystals included that you won't worry about what if one breaks or gets lost.

All in all, looks great and now that I'm an expert in its assembly, will definitely order again. Packaging was perfect and delivery on time.

This bulb is actually not rated 12/23/29 for CFL. It is 16/25/32 which is over the rating my lamp requires. I could have bought this exact bulb locally, but I searched online to find a 12/23/29. I've contacted the seller about this, so hopefully they will respond. Maybe 3 watts over isn't a big deal, but when a label tells you the lamp could start a fire it seems important. Either way this listing title is false.

This series of lamps are remarkable. Not long ago you would have spent $1000 for such a lamp. I've done stained glass myself, and this is the real thing. Excellent workmanship, would take me weeks to make. I have purchased every one of the Dragonfly and Calla Lilly lamps, and love them all. Beautiful high quality art glass. All hand made stained glass has imperfections, but these are as perfect as you can get.

I purchased this item through a vendor on Amazon and it must have been the last one because immediately the item became only available through Amazon (and at nearly double the price). Mine arrived in a tube container with The Dark Knight Rises imagery and DC logo on it, so I have no reason to believe the manufacture of the product is any different. Many reviewers for other Lava Lites complain about this, so it seems to be common: The liquid is very cloudy once it's turned on and the 'lava' isn't black, it's dark grayish, the combination of which, frankly, causes the appearance to look like poop while it's operating. See video I posted and decide for yourself if this appearance will be satisfactory for you. I have mine on top of a bookcase near the ceiling if I had it anywhere near eye level I'd never be able to eat while it's on (it does look nice while it's off, though). I've submitted a return request for mine.

Update 1/26/13: I got an email from the seller that they'd only refund half my money since the item had been opened and used. I wonder how a customer can determine whether an item's defective (or just plain sucks) without trying it? Anyway, it's a different vendor from the current posting of this item my order was not "fulfilled by Amazon", like this one. Just saying...BUYER BEWARE think twice before buying from a non-fulfilled-by-Amazon vendor on these lites.

I've really enjoyed this lava lamp. Black lava and clear liquid is a nice combination that doesn't seem to have the funky groovy retro feel of the more colorful versions ... it's more classy looking, Batman graphics notwithstanding.

One thing I've noticed is that the level of ambient light makes a big difference in how it looks. I also have the white wax/black liquid Batman lamp and they react pretty differently to light level. With lots of light in the room, like during a sunny day, the light coming from the bulb is less noticeable and the wax takes on a nice inky black color. But at night, even in a well-lit room, the wax looks purplish and there's lots of light reflection, and it doesn't look very cool. I think even the black wax has some transparency so it appears purple when the light traveling through it is visible. Meanwhile, the one with white wax looks better in a darker room because the wax glows more.

The point being, this is a great color choice if you're going to be using it during the day, like at the office. If it's going to be on at night I'd suggest a lighter wax color.

There's one other thing I noticed: this lamp has more interesting lava flow than my white wax lamp. I get lots of snakey long blobs and nice medium-sized round balloony ones going up and down. The white lamp just has a thin strip of wax that rises every few seconds from a mass at the bottom. I have a feeling it's because the black wax absorbs more heat and so the whole system runs hotter. Or it could just be due to variation across different lamps.

I haven't had any cloudiness issues with mine, but you definitely want to check return policies before you buy these over the Internet. And for the love of Mike, don't have one of these shipped across the country during hot weather.

I just got this lamp for my grandson's birthday and since we don't live in the same city I needed to know that this product was as advertised and also wasn't damaged. The solution inside the lamp is advertised as being clear but this was not so. It was very opaque and that made the flowing wax look pale grey, not pleasant to look at. I am returning this item and I may get the lamp with the dark fluid and white wax.
