We recently decided to decorate our bedroom in a beach motif. We had a very difficult time finding lamps for our nightstands that matched what we were looking for. I came across this lamp and thought it was beautiful, so I purchased two of them. The seller's photo does not depict the lamp's true beauty. I was dually impressed by the beauty and the quality of this product. The shell in the center of the lamp is beautifully sculpted and is multi-tone. The lamp shade is a creamy beige color and is oval in shape; these characteristics are difficult to determine in the photo. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to decorate their home in a beach motif.

This lamp is so beautiful! The slots in between shine the bulbs in your eyes. I just slide a piece of paper when I am sitting there and it helps. For that reason the glass should be wider. I would have given a 5 star if not for that. It's a beautiful and elegant lamp and I love the color of the base and I love the touch lamp. It's so easy. You will love it!!!

I chose this lamp over other magnifying lamps that I was considering because it is advertised as having a "daylight" bulb. This lamb does *not* have a full-spectrum bulb. It is a normal 12-watt fluorescent bulb, type T-4.

The construction is all plastic except for the internal heat shield and glass lens. Even the base housing is plastic, but there is some weight in the base for stability probably the ballast.

I have been looking for a good magnifying lamp for modeling and I found one. This lamp has a very bright light and an excellent magnifier. The lamp has a heavy base and thus will not tip over. It has a long flexable neck and the lamp never gets hot. This is an excellently made product with quality construction. I expect it to last for years. The bulb is easy to replace and readily available. Great price!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program And I wear bifocals so I know of what I speak:-) This is made in China and I suppose that is expected of all we buy nowadays? But this could be a poster boy for "cheap" made in China product. The finish on mine arrived marred with poor paint. The magnification lens is pretty badly distorted in several areas. It may help some but may HURT you if trying to get a splinter out etc? And while it has that magnification it does NOT have that little 1 or 2 inch inset with a "double" magnification for splinter removal type work either. I guess if there is a single good thing I can say about the magnifier is this. It has a built in cover to HIDE all the flaws and deficits it offers......

Warranty is what you may call a scam as well since you pay round trip shipping which I am sure is about what it costs to make this lamp in China. I find that distasteful to say the least. I would give this 2 stars max considering all I see as negatives but at least it doesn't fall over. Although maybe if it does, it will be to commit suicide? The base seems weighted with a ballast to possibly prevent that however. I give this a very shaky 3 stars. If my bulb dies in 3 months I will drop it however since some have reported that being an issue as well. My wife is using it to thread needles. Just what I need, a wife with sharp objects.....

this came with screws stripped, weight broken, but at least it functioned. My wife needed the lamp right away so hot glue came to the rescue.

I expected some pretty good things from this purchase and the lamp mostly delivered, but there were a few features about which I was dissatisfied. Firstly, the lamp came 2/3 assembled: the vertical portion was already attached to the base. I would not have had an issue with this, but the vertical portion was attached crooked! It leans forward, which disrupts the supposedly clean lines of the lamp. The horizontal portion with the LED bulbs attached easily and swivels well, fortunately.

Secondly, the instructions were in Chinese. Thankfully there is not much to assemble, or else it would have been difficult to decipher the instructions. It seems as far as the construction goes, you get what you paid for.

Pros: The lighting sensor is very sensitive and matches the description. For reading or writing, I like to keep the lamp at the brightest or second brightest setting--the lowest setting is a bit dim for anything useful.

I am not one who likes to write reviews. But I really feel the needs to do so for this purchase.

Just got this lamp yesterday evening. I was quite excited before I actually opened the box because I love the sleek design. But this was basically when the good moods ends since the moments I started the assembling, I noticed some obvious scratches basically everywhere on the lamp. You can check my uploaded photos for some examples. This observation makes me wondering do I get a refurbished item although I ordered one new, or its is just used and there is even no refurbishment.

Another thing made me unhappy about this purchase is that my received lamp does not really looks like the product photo. Unlike what's on the photo, no matter how hard I try, there is still a quite big space between the bulb section and the lamp pole. (Please see my uploaded photo for an example and yes the lamp works alright like this.) Do I get a defective item or is this just a defective design, since I think the big gap ruined the uniformity of the lamp?

After all, I decided to keep this lamp because of the following three reasons:

1) I seriously need a lamp on my desk for work.

2) Despite the appearance part, the lamp works alright.

3) I used some bonus points to buy this lamp and I am not sure how much trouble I would have for Amazon to refund me the points if I returned it.

I got the lamp sold by LEDwholesalers (the only seller of this lamp on the review date) and fulfilled by Amazon. Since I always had pleasant experience with Amazon before, I could not help but doubt the quality of products from LEDwholesalers. I suggest people looking for really "NEW" lamps give other lamps a try, since after all, there are lots of (LED) lamps cheaper than this one that might be sold NEW on Amazon.

This lamp is great. Construction is solid it seems to be made of brushed stainless steel and/or aluminum, as advertised. The bayonet-style connection to the light-emitting tube at the top is brilliantly designed.

The light itself is quite bright, with lots of LEDs. The lights are dim-able with three settings, which is very useful for night reading. Best of all the LEDs are spread along the tube at the top, similar to a fluorescent tube lamp, which is nice because the light source is diffuse, and you won't get specular reflections on paper, which makes reading sometimes difficult depending on the viewing angle. The color balance is also similar to a cool white fluorescent-tube lamp

This is lamp is designed very well and it's plenty bright. It is has a on/off touch button on its base which is very convenient. The light bulb section is very long which produces a large lighted area. The "arms" are versatile, as well. This lamp could point in any direction. And lastly, it looks really good. It is brushed metal and it is sleek.

It only has a few downsides. Its base is not very heavy, so when you go to adjust the "arms," the base sometimes will lift off the desk. Its parts are cheap, but they look good. It hasn't stopped working yet, but it is cheap like other products built overseas that usually stop working prematurely. I hope this does not happen because it is hard to find a lamp like this without paying over $200.

I really love these lamps!

I bought two of these lamps; one for my desk and another for my wife's bedside table, where she likes to read in bed at night. I bought these because of their sleek design, as well as the fact that they can be used at different lighting levels. I got these after previously ordering two TaoTronics lamps that I was not happy with (see below) and I am totally pleased.

The design is great. They feel like they're well made, with nice brushed metal, rather than shinny, cheap plastic.

The touch power/dimming control is very responsive and easy to use. The lamp has three lighting levels, from very bright, to medium-bright, to a nice, dim mode which would be great for reading at night.

The light is very sleek, consisting of a round base and two thin tubes that are maybe about 1/2" in diameter. The light can be moved in any direction and the head rotated 360 degrees. The vertical tube can also be pulled forward at an angle if desired.

The light produced is completely defused, and therefore produces no shadows and specular refractions. It looks like there are many LEDs inside, very closely-spaced behind an opaque lens. The lamp produces almost no heat at all (the light head is barely warm to the touch.)

The only thing this lamp doesn't have that I would wish for is a USB port for charging phones. However, I certainly can't complain about that as most lamps do not have this, and as a lamp this thing shines!

I highly recommend this product and am ordering another one myself.

I previously had bought two of the "TaoTronics® Elune TT-DL01 (Piano Black) Versatile Natural Light LED Desk Lamp (4 Lighting Modes: Reading Studying Relaxation & Bedtime, 5 dimmable Level / Touch Sensitive Control Panel / 1-Hour Off Timer / 5V/1A USB Charging Port)" lamps and ended up returning them because I just was not happy with too many things about them. They were very flimsy, the plastic looked and felt very cheap and attracted fingerprints like crazy. The touch controls were a pain to operate and only responded with significant effort (the power and lighting modes worked pretty well, but the brightness controls almost never worked.) The light also was quite bulky in my opinion, especially for an LED light, considering how small LEDs are. It just looked clunky. It did offer different color tones which this lamp does not do, but overall brightness is similar. One other thing I didn't like about the TaoTronics compared to this light is the it had multiple sharp points of light that were harsh and not defused, causing lots of specular refractions; this light does not do this and is beautifully defused, producing bright but soft light. The pivot joints were very sloppy and did not hold the light in position well. The point below the vertical point was the worst. You won't have that problem with this light.
