My wife who loves to read in bed after I have gone to bed, has tried many, many book lights over the years. The complaints have been many about each one, and pretty much the same. Small circle of light, have to move it from side to side to see good. So last Christmas I went on an internet hunt for the ideal book light. After a few days of research, I decided on this one for her. Now 7 months later she wants me to buy one for our daughter, and a spare for her (in case I lose or break it) cause she says could not live a night without it now. True story. It is bright and evenly covers an area of two pages of a large book without trouble, no hot spots. Seems to be the perfect book light. Battery life is excellent with the LED bulbs.

The company that manufactures this light is called Mighty Bright, and for good reason! The lamp gives off more than enough light to read by in a pitch black room. It has two brightness settings, one with both LEDs and another with just one. The LEDs in this lamp are so bright, that only one is really needed, having two is an added bonus. I'm not using a power adatpter, I'm running off of 3 AAA batteries. LEDs use such a small amount of power, those batteries should last me a year or more. Overall I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of this light. With such a fair price I didn't think it would really hold up, but I'm definitely going to recommend it.

I have to say that the Might Bright XtraFlex 2 is a wondefully bright light. If I position it correctly, it easily lights both pages for comfortable reading. It's so easy to adjust that there is never a problem getting the light where you want it. The price is great!

The problem arises when you turn the page or shift your own position. This light has a clip that does not secure well to the book. No matter how many pages you clip it to, it will swivel around and tip to the side. I get weary of righting it time and again. The clip is too bulky and I found myself missing the Itty Bitty Booklight that slips so nicely onto a back hard cover or a few pages of a soft cover, and then stays put. That is the only problem, but it's a substantial one when you're trying to read, thus the 3 stars. Right now, I'm hoping for a merger of the Itty Bitty and Might Bright. Perfect light and perfect clip!

Honest reviews on Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Light (Silver)

I bought three of these in blue (a spare for me and one for my brother) after thoroughly reading all of the comments on competitive brands. I found the comments praising this model to be right on the mark. When I read it lit up both pages at the same time using dual lights where all other brands required constant repositioning for each page, that was all I needed to know this was the best reading light for me.

I can't say enough nice things about this product. It has dual lights on a flex shaft which you can position to fully illuminate both pages of a large hardback book. You wont need to keep moving the light around to light your pages with this one and the pages ar well lit for easy reading in the dark. But the light is centralized on the book and not the surrounding area so others can sleep while you read.

You can also switch from dual lights to a single light. The flexible shaft on the light is sturdy and stable enough to firmly hold its position over the book even while you move around and turn pages. You can either clip it on the cover or use the clip to hold open the pages. It operates on AAA batteries. The higher quality battery, the longer it lasts. I use the Duracell ultra digital batteries with the blue band.

I cannot think of any negatives about this product. I'm not associated with any seller. I am just a customer who was happy to find a great product. Definitely a good buy.

I have purchased MANY book lights in the past, but never have I owned one that was actually bright enough to read by. I usually keep moving the light around and around and around so I can see the page . I ordered the power adapter but it hasn't arrived yet, I am using 3 AAA batteries and this is a awesome light. It has 2 lights in the head you can use both or just one, the light spreads across both pages of a paperback in either mode one light or two, I haven't tried a hard cover book yet, but I really don't think this light will have any problem at all. Very Very Bright. I definitely recommend this light .

Zuo 50006 Supernova Table Lamp, Chrome Review

Customer Ratings:

It's a fancy lamp that fits perfectly in modern contemporary style. Carefully shipped and came with full bulbs set+one extra. Just one thing description said it was dimmer light control, but it only works in on/off position. But it looks amazing, so I cannot give 4 stars just for this dimmer thing.

Matches the "higher-end" 5' Tiki torches available at Wally Mart. High exposure to sun has faded the colors a bit after 3 months, but not a big deal. Well worth the cost. This item was not available at Wally Mart to go with my tiki torches. Glad to find it here.

These lamps were almost perfect. They were packaged very very well. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the shades didn't sit evenly. One was tilted, and the other one wasn't beveled enough to sit all the down this caused one shade to be higher than the other. I had to purchase some fine-grain sand paper, and with 20 minutes worth of sanding, I was able to correct the problem. It was a very cheap problem to fix ($2 for the sand paper), but it was still a hassle.

As for the aesthetics of both lamps, they are gorgeous. They look just like the photo. The construction is pretty durable, while the framing of the shades, like almost all lamps out there, are on the flimsy side. This can't be helped. It seems all lamps are made like this to reduce topside weight to keep the lamp from easily toppling over. Just to let you know, the shades are a long oval shape. They not circular.

As for lighting, both of them can easily brighten a room with the right bulbs. Since the lamp shades are thick, very little light will actually radiate horizontally. This allows a person to appreciate the lamps directly with their eyes without being blinded. Most of the light will be radiating towards the ceiling and down below. I used trial and error to find the correct intensity, and will pass my findings on to save you some time:

I used two CFLs emitting 1200 lumens (brightness) each, at 2700k (color).

This will provide a warm yellow light that will be soothing and ambient, yet bright enough to read and do homework perfect for the bedroom. If these lamps are being used in a living room or bigger space, I suggest going up to 1600 lumens instead.

The lamps are really pretty, but even with the brightest lightbulb put in it, the shades don't appear to be black and white.

I totally fell in love with them when I first saw them and even more when I received them ... they look great on my night stands ... perfect size ... I loved their shape which is elongated oval instead of round so they take much less space ... the shade are made of polyester while the black designs are velvety ... the make is slightly on the flimsy side but they are totally fine if you don't move them every now and then ... the color of the shades is definitely not white ... it's ivory more like the color of butter, actually a shade darker ... so don't go for them if you are specifically looking for black and white ... if you are fine with ivory, they are a very good value for money ...

I ordered 2 of these lamps for the night stands in our room. I originally thought these were wooden lamps but the tape that was attached to the lamp in packaging proved me wrong. When unwrapping one lamp the tape pealed off part of the wood from the lamp. Other than that, the lamps look nice in our room. We were going for a modern/contemporary look and these do the trick.

I bought the lamps for a very unique reason; I wanted rear speakers for surround sound, but i didn't want speakers taking up space... i just wanted a small wood table lamps. This fit the bill.

Things you should know these lamps aren't wood. They are a white ceramic of sorts covered with a paper thin wood covering. The smallest of scratches will take away the "wood" and leave a white mark. Both of mine came with small scuffs. Not a big deal... i just faced the sides with the scuffs backwards.

These lamps are hollow. This is exactly what i wanted. I bought a 2" full range driver, cut a hole in the lamp using a hole saw and jigsaw, ran a wire through the power hole, soldered the wire to the speaker and then installed the speaker. It doesn't sound great, but its totally good enough. I probably should have added more dampening, but i'm not reopening these speakers. I don't think the ceramic will take it.

Its a 3 step lamp... this doesnt work great with compact florescent bulbs... you need to turn it twice to turn the bulb on, then twice to turn it off. I have everything on remote, so this doesn't bother me.

Overall, its a good inexpensive lamp and it worked as a speaker housing which you cant say about most lamps. Just wish the veneer was of higher quality. I suspect this review may help 1 person. If you are that person, cheers.

Dimond D1412 Luzerne Table Lamp, Mother Of Pearl Review

Customer Ratings:

I bought 2 of these lamps. I received one while the other one was in back order. I returned the lamp that I received because it was broken and damaged because of the unproper packaging. The box was severely damaged impacting on the content (the lamp), particularly the lamp shade which was broken. Consequently, I have cancelled the purchase of both lamps. As a matter of fact, the quality of the shade did not match that of the rest of the lamp. This is the first negative transaction I had with a product bought via Amazon which provided me with the opportunity of experiencing the professionalism and excellent reaction from Amazon i.e. reimbursement of the amount in a rapid and timely manner.

This lamp is beautiful, and well made. It's everything I was looking for in terms of the mother-of-pearl and chrome finish, style, and size. I bought it for a side table in my family room, and it really completed the look of the space, exceeding my expectations! Initially, it was out of my price range, so I placed it on my wish list and waited patiently...within a few weeks the price dropped to an affordable level so I purchased it immediately (a smart move because by the next day it had reverted back to its original price). With free shipping, this is definitely one of the best purchases I've ever made.

I bought these lamps for my daughter for her new apartment. Most of her accessories are brushed nickel, so these fit in perfectly. They were just what she and I wanted. Tall enough to read by and sturdy, but not heavy looking. The lamp shades complimented the base to a "T". Loved them!

The lamp comes exactly as advertised. It's pleasant enough to look at unlit, but truly shines in the evening when illuminated at any of the three lighting levels. It was easy to put together and the touch feature functions perfectly. The lamp was a gift for my mother and, when set to its dimmest level, she uses it as a nightlight. She loves it.

I bought this for my mom for Christmas. She wanted a touch lamp for her bedside, and she's a bird afficionado. Perfect, I thought. Really, it's too large for a night stand, but it's so pretty that she loved it anyway. It was especially well packaged, too.

I cannot recommend these lamps. They are ADVERTISED as being 360 WATT BULBS. The sockets are clearly labeled 25 WATT BULBS ONLY. I ordered two sight unseen primarily because of the 3X60= 180 watt advertisement. Instead these are 3X25 = 75 watts maximum rating. If you put larger bulbs than they are rated for, then you WILL burn out the TRIAC in the capacitive touch module in the base of the lamp and end up with a lamp that stays on on full light setting all of the time. You can resolder a new triac into the unit to fix this.

The lamps look more like antique brass than they do brushed gold. The base is made from such light metal that the slightest bump will dent the metal material. The shade is made out of something resembling the old "non-rusting" coathanger wire you hang clothes on, and the little metal flowers on the frame arrived with their petal bent. The finger tabs that hold the bottom of the glass were super thin and many were bent double. Not good quality They are that flimsy and cheaply constructed. They come packed in plain brown boxes, instead of the normal retail type boxes. The shade is thrown in the box inside of a plastic bag, and the lamp stand is thrown inside fo the shade also in a plastic bag. The glass panels are curved at the bottom and are only wrapped in paper. The glass has the same scene on each of the six panels and the scene is painted on the inside of the glass, along with some sort of spotty granular coating around some of the white flowers to create a sort of shiny effect when the light shines through. Some of the nuts will not even thread onto the screws, because the threads are not correct, and there are vertical twisted wires between the glass panels, (which arrived bent and out of place), where the glare from the light bulbs shines through into your eyes. There is a warning with the lamp that if the spacing is not correct that there is a danger of starting a fire!!!

NOT RECOMMENDED. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GET SOMETHING NICER. THE OLD STYLE LAMPS MADE BY TIMELESS ELEGANCE ARE SO MUCH NICER, and heavier in construction,. and they sold for less than half the price.... I COULD NOT FIND TIMELESS ELEGANCE ANYMORE TO ORDER FROM THEM. Timeless elegance made their touch lamps out of heavier brass, with EIGHT gray colored glass panels packed in styrofoam, with etched floral designs. If held side by side, there is no comparison in the quality of the two lamps.

Honest reviews on ORE International K307 Glass Hummingbird Pastel Scene Touch Lamp

This lamp is larger than I expected. Pictures on glass shade are beautiful, colors are perfect. Pleased with purchase....... Worth buying for sure..

The glass part of the lamp is pretty and the touch system works well; however, the 3 25watt bulbs aren't throwing enough light to read by. While it was packaged pretty well for shipping, the product is so cheaply and lightly made that it was quite bent up and I had to try and straighten it out as much as possible. The base is very light and has a cheap plastic bottom to it--the weight comes from the glass panels, making it top heavy. A light breeze moving through the front room was making it wobble. I will use for now to replace the broken lamp I had, but I will save my money for a sturdier lamp--I suggest others do likewise.

Best Berkeley Lamp II Full Spectrum Reading and Room light Deals

Customer Ratings:

A rather large desk lamp. 21 inches high and the base is 11 inches in diameter. Weighs 21 lbs. Two circular fluorescent tubes each 70 watts, each rated at 4290 initial lumens. One tube mainly illuminates below, the other above to provide indirect light from ceiling. This type of fluorescent tube has 10,000 hour life and the lumens decline quickly. Mean lumens probably 85% of initial lumens. Replacement tubes are expensive. Tubes can be independently dimmed to 25%. Arrived in two boxes, one box for shade. Box and shade were dented but dent could be pushed out. When placed on white table with white ceiling recorded 1000 lux at 2 feet from center of lamp and 240 lux at 4 feet (both tubes illuminated). Very good for illuminating writing desk and provides fair area illumination. Would be good in dorm room or on any reasonably sized desk. Total illumination equal to 5, 100-watt incandescent bulbs.

This lamp is "almost" a dream for those of us who have to read for long hours and have sensitive eyes. It cuts down on glare,is adjustable and can be tailored to the situation. There are two bulbs. So I have configured mine with a warm, ambient bulb on top and a daylight bulb on the bottom for reading. Both have built in dimmer switches for variability of light intensity from off to full brightness. In addition, there is an outlet in the base which I use for a number of things and really helps with the "down on the floor on hands and knees trying to find the outlet behind the desk" issue. We have harsh fluorescent lights in our workplace offices and when people come to my office they sit for a minute and then say "wow! your office is so much more pleasant and restful. What is different?" The difference is the light from the lamp. The reason it is an "almost" dream lamp is that it is much more 'bulky" than I thought it would be and the size has three disadvantages. First, it raises the height of the lamp so that when one is sitting at the desk and the lamp is on the desk, one gets the glare from the bottom bulb full in the face. I have worked around this by putting the lamp behind me to the left on a credenza, but that means I cannot get the full benefit of the bottom light when reading. Second, it is bulky and out of perspective for a smaller office. Third, one almost needs two of these to properly light an entire office if one cuts the overheads but because of the size, that becomes problematic. All that said, if they would make this lamp smaller, and in more styles, I would buy them for use all over my home and office.

I bought 2 of these things, they are very small, but also very BRIGHT. We used them at a few proms, and had to actually turn the brightness down on them because they lit up the room. When hung upside down, they stay within the dance floor area, so they're not in your face.

I bought two of these for next to the bed. First off they're a little large for that, but I'm not deducting stars for that because I should have taken a tape measure out so it's my fault. Why I don't like these lamps is within weeks:

One of the lamp shades unglued itself. Now it hangs down on three of the four sides, barely attached. I tried re-gluing but I'm terrible at that stuff, and frankly I don't buy things so I can practice my arts and crafts. I get around this by propping the shade against the wall

The same lamp is a pain to turn on and off. You twist the knob and instead of clicking it feels like the housing inside is turning with the knob. Eventually you can get it, but again, this happened within weeks of purchase

The second lamp is fine, but I'm disappointed in this purchase. Without these problems I'd say 4 stars.

We haven't used these lamps yet (we're moving into a new home) but we've taken them out of the box and their really cool. They go very well with a head board that we have that has a subtle Asian style with very clean lines and a similar finish. Can't wait to unpack them for good!

Honest reviews on 2 Cappuccino Finish Modern Contemporary Table Desk Lamp Lamps

these lamps are ok, they are heavy and 3-way which I like. However, the color of the lampshades is a strange pale-rust or orangy mauve. I would return them but the shipping both way charge plus the 15% restocking fee (and the trouble) made me decide to keep them and try to recover the shades. :/
