I have a long-term project to replace household electric devices with energy-saving ones. I bought this product to replace a 90W halogen bulb in a pendant lamp above a small round family dining table.

There were a couple of good reasons to have chosen this particular product out of similar R38 LED bulbs:

Brightness: To be comparable with the 90W halogen bulb, at least 800-900 lumens was necessary

Dimmable: The lamp was on a dimming X-10 wall switch

Slim shape: The pendant lamp has a large acrylic disk and stainless cylinders on top. I tried another LED bulb before, but its heat fins were so fat that the bulb could not fit.

This product satisfies all criteria. It dissipates little heat (now I can touch the bulb surface which was impossible with a halogen bulb!) and consumes much less power.

A few non-positive things:

The bulb may show flickering if the dimmer is set to the maximum position. "One notch down" from the top position will remove flickering. I later replaced my dimmable X-10 switch with a mechanical relay switch so that this issue is gone and the light level has increased.

The light beam is very narrow and spotty, barely covering our small round dining table. Shadows under the beam are very crisp and dark. I wish the product had larger lighting plain (i.e. more LED elements all over the downing surface).

The light color is somewhat yellowish and not very natural. It is not ideal for a dinner table where natural food colors are expected, and it took us some two weeks to get used to it.

I loved this light the moment I set eyes on it in a store. When it arrived from Amazon, it was just the right thing for my redecorated downstairs. Philips Ledino products don't seem to get many reviews on Amazon, but that hasn't stopped me from buying a cross-section of their products (from table and floor lamps to hard-wired fixtures). Although Amazon sometimes has trouble shipping lamps without them arriving broken (at least they're good at arranging returns), I've been very happy with every Ledino product I've purchased.

How happy? Well, I've now purchased four of the 37344 table lamps alone. (Three for home, one for the office.) Occasionally the price drops by a healthy amount on Amazon, and that's a good time to pull the trigger.

This table lamp exudes quality -the aluminum base has a solid feel to it and the cylinder of glass floating towards the top is beautiful and elegant. The LED lights have a nice, slightly warm color temperature. The materials and fit and finish make the whole lamp seem like a piece of art. It's a modern piece of art, so if you're not into contemporary design, this might not be for you. One of the things I like most about this lamp is that it throws out light without glare. The diffused light is aimed downwards (and it throws a lot of light), with some light shining out the glass sides. You don't see bright light shining out of it.

Is it expensive? Yes, but the materials and workmanship make it feel like it should cost more. It sips power and doesn't get very hot at all. Freed from the incandescent bulb, LED lights are allowing designers to get very creative with the form factor of lamps and lights. This lamp demonstrates that with an exclamation mark.

Review of Paper Straws Hunter Green-box of 144

These straws shipped quickly and were nice quality. I was worried they'd be a lot darker in person b/c they're called Hunter green, but they were not the color shown in the picture is accurate. I used them for a bridal shower inside mini milk jugs (served with cake/cookies), and they were a big hit!

The straws are exactly what I expected when I ordered them, but the green is a bit darker than in the picture. Other reviews said they looked just like the picture, but I have to say mine are a bit darker than the picture. They'll still work perfectly for what I bought them for, just be careful if you want a lighter more "apple" color green. For the price, these are great though. Happy with the purchase.

It's a lamp I'd recommend to everyone. As far as being eye candy, It looks ultra-expensive and I recieve tons of compliments on it. Although I consider it an artpiece in itself, it's not overwhelmingly artsy so there's virtually nowhere it would look out of place except maybe in a countryside themed home. The dimming feature is the greatest...you slide a bar at the base near where's the plugged in and although such halogen can be overwhelming, you can find a range anywhere from major floodlight power to cozy intimacy.

It has a heavy base and is pretty well designed. The lamp housings get extremely hot. They are directional but do not adjust them after the lights have been on for a short while. One of the bulbs got smashed in shipment. I upgraded to a crisper GE Reveal bulb, which I'd recommend as the OEM bulbs wear out.

I rely heavily on the reviews of others, then don't do my own reviews. I'm going to try to rectify that. This lamp appealed to me and I'm not sure why, maybe a stadium lighting look, and it looked like it would do the trick of lighting up a dark living room (it did not). I ordered it in spite of reservations and some negative reviews. Lesson learned. The lamp looks spindly as the pole is really thin compared to the top it's sporting (although it's very sturdy), and it seems undersized compared to what I expected from the picture. It's really heavy which is good, and it puts out a fair amount of light but nothing like the light output I expected considering the 4 bulbs. There's a feature where you can adjust the head of the lamp and the individual bulbs, but after a year of use I've not found this feature particularly useful. The floor apparatus for turning it off and on is neat although the cord is short when considering placement, and when it's DARK it's sometimes hard to locate. My husband is totally "floor control" challenged and always has to bend over to find the control. Plus having to use the floor control to turn the lamp off and on limits where it can be used. Because I actually hated it so much in my living room which is the room for which it was bought, I now have it beside my bed and now have to get "out" of bed to control it, or prop the controls on something that I can reach from the bed, and that's not working out well so it's going to be moved, again. The lamps are somewhat difficult to change out. The cord has separated (the usual one strand has become two) and that's a new one for me. I've had corded items my entire life and have never seen one just spontaneously come apart. The wires are still encased in plastic so I consider it safe and have concluded it's just an inferior cord. Others who have commented about the Styrofoam packaging exploding are absolutely correct. I felt warned about that due to reviews so wasn't shocked when it happened but was still not prepared for the MESS it created. The lamp has a unique appearance but is a purchase I regret. The prospect of returning it was more daunting than having to just keep it and make the best of it, but had it been purchased locally, it would have been returned.

This lamp is awesome looking and has a very nice dimmer to bring a room from bright to intimate with the swipe of the switch. The 4 bulbs get extremely hot so you may want to swap them out if you care about efficiency or the extra heat, those who live in non-tropical climate should have no worries. All 4 bulb assemblies can rotate individually which makes for a very customizable lighting experience.

The reason I'm giving this product 4 stars is because it comes packaged in the horrible processed styrofoam that explodes into a billion pieces on contact. I am ordering a 2nd one of these now and I will make sure to open the package outside so I don't have to clean up for days on end.

In summary: awesome modern lamp with rotatable bulbs, gets slightly hot, packaged in a very inconsiderate way!

This floor lamp is beautiful and well-made. The shade is beautifully painted. However, it was not packaged well at all and the lampshade (which is glass) was smashed when I received it. Amazon quickly sent me a replacement, which thankfully was not broken, but the manufacturer should pack in materials that provide better protection. This is a beautiful and high quality floor lamp. The hand painting of the shade is done from the inside of the shade and then it seems as though a white glaze is put over the painting , probably so it shows better from the outside and also allows the lamp to throw more light from below. The assembly instructions aren't the greatest but I figured it out. It has a nice long cord of probably 6 feet long. I used 2 23 watt compact fluorescent bulbs and it's a little too bright for me so I might find something a little softer. The lamp has 2 pulls, one for each bulb which is nice when you don't need as much light. This lamp would look nice in a lodge as the name implies but I think of it more in terms of a lamp that would work well in a bungalow style house or with mission style furniture.

This harp was just what I was looking for. I'd purchased some CFL lights and was disappointed to find that they didn't fit into my old lamp harps. So at the hardware store I bought some that were wide enough but they were way too high--the lamp shade sat up so high that it looked funny--you could see the switch and it looked silly. I wondered how to get a lamp harp that was wide enough but not so high that my lampshade wouldn't fit? I first looked for longer lampshade, but they were very expensive. Then I found this harp that was a perfect fit.

I'm going to run into this more and more as I gradually switch all of my lights over to CFL lights. So it is handy to have an extra harp, too.

Highly recommended.

I bought these because of an old lamp that couldn't take anything larger than a 40-watt incandescent bulb. They seem well made, and the one I put on that lamp fit very nicely, including taking the old final. I can now put a regular CFL into the lamp.

Note, however, that these DO NOT fit a 3-way CFL. For that you need the 10-inch version.

These harps are the right size to fit a three-way CFL in my Crate & Barrel table lamps. About an inch longer than the original harps.

Two problems: First, they are gold/bronze color, not silver as in the pictures. Second, the collar rings that lock the harp are too small, at least for my lamps. Tension keeps the harp in place, but they aren't locked and could get bumped off.

Short version: Excellent product for accommodating oversize energy saving bulbs in existing lamps.

Long version: I've had a pair of lamps on my desk for several years. I like them. But I like bright lighting, especially at my desk where I use my laptop, which presented a problem. The harps on these lamps would accept an A19 size incandescent, but would insistently push away any bulb even a little bit bigger. When I was younger I had always wanted brighter bulbs, like 100W, but having grown up with Fern Gully, Captain Planet, Jump Start 6th Grade and 6th Grade Adventures I was already aware that besides costing more to operate, brighter bulbs were a continual environmental burden. So I was stuck with 40 or 60 watt bulbs until I learned about CFLs. I was maybe 11 when I bought my first. Of course, back then they were a little bigger! They shrank somewhat over the years, but still I couldn't get better than a 60W equivalent into my lamps. I expected LEDs to finally break the size barrier and was thrilled when the first 100W equivalents recently hit the marketplace, but discovered that they were being offered in the A21 size that still wouldn't fit my lamps. I looked at harp extenders, but what I saw were cheap plastic add-ons that I had tried before without success. One of the reviewers had suggested replacing the harps themselves. Of course! So I looked into that. Many of the offerings were 2 piece kits, but I wasn't sure if I would be obligated to use the included harp holder and wouldn't want to, since the current one is already painted to match my lamp. So I got these.

They ended up being an easy install-ironically, they fit better than the original harps. The width is very generous. The height is also generous; actually too generous. You see, these harps are designed for Alzo's own CFLs, which are very large, even by CFL standards, so the extra height makes sense. However, for A21 sized LED bulbs and compact CFLs the harp is more than wide enough and more than tall enough. The extra width is sort of a bonus unless you have an extremely narrow, petit lamp shade, but if you have a somewhat but not extraordinarily short shade, as I do, the less attractive switch portion gets exposed and devalues the aesthetics somewhat. On the whole I'm glad to be running brighter lights, but a 7" version of this harp would be nice.

These lamps are beautiful! When lit, there is a subtle floral design shown on the lamp cover because the inside of the lamp cover has the floral design. Also, it has a pearlized look body stand that is so lovely.
