I was excited to get this lamp because if how cool it looks.

I finally got the lamp in the mail today and I'm disappointed. The lamp in the picture is shown without a light bulb. Normal light bulbs don't even fit in this lamp, half of the bulb will stick out which looks awful and bright because the bulb is not covered by the shade. The plastic used for the base is very coarse and looks cheap.

I was expecting so much more from this lamp, I am most likely going to try to return it.

I would also like to point out that the two other reviews on this lamp are fake. One even goes as far as to say "I am definitely going to consider some other items made by LumiSource" which clearly showed this is a comment by the company or someone paid to comment.

We were very disappointed when we received this lamp. The base was made poorly so it wobbles. The light bulb sticks out below the shade ruining the illusion and the lamp is very small so the bulb is way to close to all the plastic. We have it back in the box and not sure we will ever use it. It's not worth the postage to send back. Made in China.

I purchased this lamp in yellow. I have had no trouble with the base at all and have not experienced the bulb sticking out beyond the shade must be the choice of bulb. However, as the other reviewer noted, the bulb is close to the shade and stand, so I don't leave this lamp on when no one is in the room and this is the reason I wouldn't give it more stars.

Conceptually bang on. In execution, more or less okay. Base too light for the overall, unbalanced design. Pour could have gone to the top of shade so the typical 40W bulb wouldn't show. A 40w baby spot helps to hide actual light source. The Black cord rather than white shows that somebody has no esthetic sense whatsoever. The soft shaped star pour that defines the base is one solution but an asymmetrical design could have had more fun and function. NIce bit of whimsy with a cheap price and it unfortunately showsbut I still like it.

The lamp base itself is nice. Its exactly as pictured. The lamp shade is as pictured however the first one I got (I havent received the second yet) would be what I consider to be a manufacturers second. The fabric is flawed. Its bunched in certain areas and is basically unfixable. But I'll live with it for the time until I go out and buy a replacement shade. Its really disturbing how bad it really is. If you were to see this in a b&m you'd pass on the lamp based on the quality of the shade (or at least ask for a discount).

The overall purchasing experience related to this product: The Amazon wesite stated "hurry only two left in stock". So I hurried :) and ordered the last two. So what happens? They ship one. The other is yet to ship. I'm certain it will (at least I hope) but my intent was to order the "set" to have them available in my guest bedroom for some soon to be arriving guests. Well I guess that wont be happening.

I will update this review when I receive the second lamp to comment on the condition of the shade.

I was surpised how nice the lamps looked in person when I put them on my end tables. They are very nice and the design goes with my home perfectly. They were smaller at the base than my old lamps so I had more room for photos too. I also like the three way lighting for softness for watching TV or more lighting for reading. The shades were also good as they didnt' tip and provided lots of light to shine through.

I didn't expect a fantastic lamp at the price I paid, so I rate it "not terrible." It's shinier than it looks in the picture, but that may just be my computer. The lampshade doesn't come down quite far enough to suit me, with too much of the socket showing. Also, in spite of what looked like adequate packaging, it was slightly bent. Not bad enough to send back, but certainly far from perfect. It's difficult for me to go out to shop and I needed to replace a lamp that had broken. So, it's satisfactory, but definitely not worth more than 3 stars. It looks better in the picture than in person.

I really do like the look of this lamp and it fits in perfectly. However, the lamp shade was not made properly, as someone else mentioned, so an entirely new lamp had to be sent to me. I then return the original shade and lamp and all is well. Just a bit of inconvenience. Do watch out for the shade.

These are not super great quality lamps, but they are good for the price. They are VERY lightweight, so I would not put them in any room where there is a risk of them being tipped over by children. I have them in my bedroom and have almost tipped them over a couple of times. When the lamps arrived the shades were a bit misshapen so I had to work on them to get them looking okay. Overall, they do the job and were inexpensive.

We were very apprehensive of making such a purchase sight unseen, but in researching the Dale Tiffany line we were impressed and decided to give it a shot. Our fears were quickly alleviated when we saw the quality and the "heft" of the fixture.

Our home is "open concept" and the fixture is over our Breakfast Room table, but visible from both the Family Room and the Kitchen. Cheap Wireless Appliance Remote Control Lamp Light Switch

The package I ordered from Amazon looks like the illustration except that the main unit has DSI shown on the face. I have had several frustrations with this item. It was necessary to click the remote unit several times before the receiver would turn on the light. Thinking that was caused by the surge suppresser it was plugged into, I plugged it directly into the wall AC-DC. Same behavior. Thinking it was delivered with a weak battery, I replaced that too. No improvement.

The remote and the sensor are in the same room but divided by a wall. The signal does not require flowing thru a wall or door. I have another unit that I bought several years ago which, by the way is much smaller, and that works beautifully with just one press of the remote.

No more DSI products for me.

I bought this product so that I would be able to turn off my sound amplifier from the opposite side of my 2-story house. I play music using a Sonos system controlled wirelessly by an iPod Touch. At the end of the day, when I'm upstairs and it's time to retire, I can turn the Sonos system off wirelessly, but the amplifier that the Sonos is connected to will stay on all night, drawing a lot of electricity. I now keep the remote control for this gizmo at my bedside. When I want to turn off the amplifier, I simply push the button on the remote. It works instantly and perfectly every time through all the walls and floors that separate my second-story bedroom from the amplifier on the first floor.

I wish I could say that I can also turn the amplifier back on using this gizmo, but unfortunately my Harmon Karmon amplifier doesn't work that way. Pushing the button on the remote control for this controller just puts the amplifier back into standby mode, and I then need to either use the Harmon Karmon remote or press a button on the amplifier to turn the amplifier back on. Also, in order to avoid having to carry the remote for this controller back downstairs again the next morning, I had to plug the mother unit for this device into a plug where it's easily accessible (not hidden behind the entertainment cabinet), so that I can press a button on the mother unit itself to turn the power back on the next day.

I am very pleased with my lamp. I originally fell in love with a real 1912 tiffany lamp that this one is replicated from. I found a few different companies that made this lamp, but felt that the Meyda one was the highest quality ones out there. The colors on the glass are close to perfect and the whole lamp feels really sturdy. I marked it off one star because one of the glass flowers on mine came chipped. I didn't want to take the trouble to send it back.

Pros:

-Nice light quality. It has 4 "Bright White" LED's and 4 "Warm White" LED's. I work all day, every day, indoors at a computer. The building I work in has floresant lights, and this over years has started to irritate my eyes. After using the light for 4 days, my eyes feel great after work.

-Sleek looks. Smooth glossy plastic. Nice curves.

-1 step dimmer (see cons).

-Solid base and solid (enough) construction.

Cons:

-1 step dimmer. Everything I have read before buying made you belive that you could vary between the Bright White and Warm White colors of lights. This would also mean that you could dim the amount of light put out from the unit. Not true. The power button is slightly illuminated when the light is off. You touch the power button and it turns on to the low light setting. Touch the button again and it takes you to the high light setting. Touch the 3rd time and it goes off. Let me warn you, there is little difference between the 2 settings. Secondly, the low light setting started to oscillate (make the light flicker) after 3 days of use. No problems yet on the high setting.*** update can be read below***

Battery compartment (not a true Con). Well there is a compartment that looks like its original intention was for the possibility of battery operation. There are no prongs for the batteries, just a rectangular battery box. Not a issue of course... just more of a FYI for you electrical minded people out there. (runs off of 24VDC @ 1A)

-No instructions. Ok... I know why would you need instructions about a silly little lamp?? well let me tell you. I described the functionality of the 1 step dimmer/power button. I really thought the "600LE" series was dimmable. How do I know that they sent me the right lamp? There are no markings to indicate this is a 600LE or just a 600. The bottom label states "Model T-1A". The printed color page that came with it was more of a promo for the lamp telling me how intelligent the lamp design was without giving any specifics (clearly a "English translation"). The Box also did not indicate any model on it.

***Update*** 01-17-2011

I contacted the seller with my concerns. They promptly replied and helped me not be confused. What I failed to understand is there was a lamp that had a actual dimmer. This light does not, but it does have a step down selection. That is as follows: 1 touch, medium level light. 2nd touch, high level light. 3rd touch returns the lamp to off. You will not have any ability to transition the light from the "warm" LED's to the "white" LED's, but that is less of a issue than i thought it would be.

I am very satisfied with my light.

It looks good, and it works well. The amount of light it produces is nice. I have no other light in my room, and I have this light mounted so the base is my head height when sitting. This provides just enough light on the high setting. My immediate work area is lit well; I am not wishing for more light, but also not overwhelming my eyes. The arm mounted on the base rotates so you don't need to pick up the light to rotate the head. The trouble I have seen with the flickering on the medium light level seems to be an issue with fluctuation voltage at my office. This has not been a issue from that time forward.

The seller is very committed to customer service. I would advise contacting them directly should you have any concerns. They are also producing more models for future sell. They seem to listen to and like feedback. I will be making another light purchase for my home from IMG.

When looking for an LED lamp as a more energy-efficient alternative to the halogen lamp I've had on my desk for years, I narrowed my search to the IMG Beacon 600LE and the Koncept Z-Bar. Having to buy a lamp for both me & and my wife, I got one of each and here's what I found:

IMG Beacon 600LE:

1) Much brighter than the Koncept Z-Bar as the IMG lamp has 8 OSRAM LEDs vice 4 OSRAM LEDs in the Koncept model.

2) Only two brightness settings which are not strikingly different. Although I thought this was a limitation, in truth my halogen lamp only had two brightness settings as well.

3) Combination of 4 white LEDs and 4 yellow LEDs which are all on in both brightness settings.

4) Lamp has to be kept a "crack" open for the lamp to turn on as there is a cut-off switch on the head of the lamp that turns it off when its closed entirely. Although the press pictures show a closed lamp lit in "ambience" mode, that capability was for an older model (per an email from the IMG rep.). This is not a deal breaker as it makes practical sense for the lamp to be open in order to keep the LEDs from overheating.

5) AC adapter converts to 24VDC and supports input voltages of 100-240VAC. So, while the plug style is U.S. 2-prong (no ground), the lamp can easily be adapted for overseas use.

6) Lamp head has a maximum forward reach of about 16" (40cm) from it's base, measured from it's center; the base is 9.5" (24 cm) in diameter. So, if you're looking to light up your desk, make sure you have the room on your desk and that the area you're trying to light up is within reach.

7) GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Emails were answered promptly and all questions addressed.

Koncept Z-Bar

1) Less brightness than IMG Beacon 600LE; 4 OSRAM LEDs vice 8 OSRAM LEDs. When you buy a Z-Bar, you have to specify white OR yellow LEDs.

2) Four brightness settings which are visibly significant.

3) All LEDs (4) on in all brightness settings.

4) AC adapter converts to 9VDC and supports input voltages of 100-240VAC. The plug style is a U.S. 2-prong (no ground).

6) Lamp is VERY flexible in positioning the arm with the 4 LEDs and has more reach than the Beacon lamp. The provided metal base is 9" (23 cm) in diameter, but lamp also includes a desk-clamp which can be used instead of the base if you're limited on desk space. The clamp can fit a desk with a maximum thickness of 4.3cm (1.7").

Bottom Line: If you're looking for maximum brightness (and great customer service), go with the Beacon. If you're looking for a lamp with a lot of reach (and not so much brightness), the Z-Bar is for you.

My 2 halogen lights I purchased from Ikea both quit working on me within a year's time. I was tired of my cats using the halogen for heat lamps and sharing my desk. Searched and found this light. Received it today and really think I will like it.

There is no heat generated from it. The lamp is adjustable both pieces adjust. The base is sturdy. The light it gives off is really great as it covers a large area of the desk. It is very easy on the eyes. And the lightbulbs are built into it they don't get replaced. And it is attractive.

New lighting at its best.

I spend many hours daily reading, and during the day my desk has excellent natural light exposure. In the evenings I need a quality light source. In the past I have tried various color temperatures of incandescent and flourescent lamps, but I find incandescents too hot physically, and flourescents emit an audible hum that can be distracting. When LEDs became available I looked at a few but the price was so high I could not justify buying one. When I saw this lamp in a retail shop I decided to buy it and it is perfect for my needs. Not everyone will want or need to spend this much on a desk lamp, and prices will continue to decline as functionality increases in LED technology. But I am glad I bought this, and for those who need high quality, cool (physically) and balanced light for extended evening reading, I recommend this without reservation. It is also a striking design and everyone comments on that when they first see it. That is just a small bonus as far as I am concerned.

A rather large desk lamp. 21 inches high and the base is 11 inches in diameter. Weighs 21 lbs. Two circular fluorescent tubes each 70 watts, each rated at 4290 initial lumens. One tube mainly illuminates below, the other above to provide indirect light from ceiling. This type of fluorescent tube has 10,000 hour life and the lumens decline quickly. Mean lumens probably 85% of initial lumens. Replacement tubes are expensive. Tubes can be independently dimmed to 25%. Arrived in two boxes, one box for shade. Box and shade were dented but dent could be pushed out. When placed on white table with white ceiling recorded 1000 lux at 2 feet from center of lamp and 240 lux at 4 feet (both tubes illuminated). Very good for illuminating writing desk and provides fair area illumination. Would be good in dorm room or on any reasonably sized desk. Total illumination equal to 5, 100-watt incandescent bulbs.

This lamp is "almost" a dream for those of us who have to read for long hours and have sensitive eyes. It cuts down on glare,is adjustable and can be tailored to the situation. There are two bulbs.So I have configured mine with a warm, ambient bulb on top and a daylight bulb on the bottom for reading. Both have built in dimmer switches for variability of light intensity from off to full brightness. In addition, there is an outlet in the base which I use for a number of things and really helps with the "down on the floor on hands and knees trying to find the outlet behind the desk" issue. We have harsh fluorescent lights in our workplace offices and when people come to my office they sit for a minute and then say "wow! your office is so much more pleasant and restful. What is different?" The difference is the light from the lamp. The reason it is an "almost" dream lamp is that it is much more 'bulky" than I thought it would be and the size has three disadvantages. First, it raises the height of the lamp so that when one is sitting at the desk and the lamp is on the desk, one gets the glare from the bottom bulb full in the face. I have worked around this by putting the lamp behind me to the left on a credenza, but that means I cannot get the full benefit of the bottom light when reading. Second, it is bulky and out of perspective for a smaller office. Third, one almost needs two of these to properly light an entire office if one cuts the overheads but because of the size, that becomes problematic.All that said, if they would make this lamp smaller, and in more styles, I would buy them for use all over my home and office.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program It looks nice, but on close inspection there are some quality (and quality control) issues.

The base is very heavy (this is good) and the lamp is very hard to tip over. There are two brightness levels that are controlled by a rotary knob. The illumination is fairly directional (straight down) with the illuminated area being about 30 inches across. This provides good illumination of the work area of a desk. Because it is directional, it does not provide much light for the rest of the room. It is not meant to.

My lamp came with a white frosted lens. I would have preferred the green one in the picture. There were many small imperfections in the paint confirming that this is not a high quality product. Also, the rotary knob is cheap plastic and the paint on the knob was not uniform.

It is a halogen light, so it gets very hot, especially on the brightest setting. For a desk lamp, this could be very dangerous and THIS LAMP SHOULD NOT BE USED AROUND CHILDREN.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The thing you'll notice first about this desk lamp is the base. It's giant (nearly eight inches across) not to mention extremely heavy--the base must weigh most of the lamp's six pounds. At least it won't be knocked over easily. The lamp works fine, though halogen gets *HOT* and don't last forever and replacement bulbs are expensive. The "rotary dimmer" isn't really a dimmer; it's a round switch for the two brightness settings: LOW and HIGH. Came with white frosted light, not green as shown in photo. Not sure what "Black Chrome" finish is, but just think of it as glossy black. The lamp is tilt-adjustable in two places (near the base and near the head), although neither can be adjusted single-handedly.

Personally, I think lamps like this are overpriced. Functionality-wise, this seems OK. I'll update my review if anything changes.

It is very durable, heavy enough so that it won't tip off the desk if bumped, and the lighting is great for a small area. My home desk sits about 30 feet from our bed and yet my wife is able to enjoy sleeping all while I am busy working at my desk on the computer. The light does not interfere at all with a computer. The lamp itself is black color and professional looking.

Overall, I do recommend this lamp if you are looking for a lamp for a desk. The lighting itself has two levels and neither are overbearing.

I used this to replace the failed socket in an older lamp of mine. It operates exactly as the one in my old lamp did. I am so glad I could find it here on Amazon and get it so cheaply. Great product! Even though we used a 3-way bulb in the table lamp in the TV room, there are many times, during a movie for example, that we wanted the lighting lower than what the bulb would allow. I knew there had to be a product like this so, after going to numerous big box stores and even two lighting specialty stores and not finding it, I looked on Amazon. Really regret not doing that first because, within a couple of minutes, I had it ordered and, within two days, we received it. It only takes about five minutes to install . We can now have lighting from as dim as a nightlight to as bright as the bulb will go, and anywhere in between! We both highly recommend it!

When I first installed it it worked great with a Philips dimmable LED light.

After a while, it didn't really "dim" the light it was mostly off until the knob was turned almost all the way on.

Finally, it started crackling when it was turning on and would only come on when the knob was all the way on and I had to jiggle it. When I jiggle it, I can smell the arcing. I'm pretty sure the variable resistor has died (I checked the my wiring no shorts and no loose wires...

It's gotten annoying and possibly dangerous time to replace it with something else!

i like this lamp. it provides good reading light and it's not heavy so it can be moved around easily. if i have one concern it's that it's not level. i had to prop up the base on one side to make it stand straight.

This is a good floor lamp. It isn't as bright as I expected it to be, but when I combined it with another floor lamp, I got the needed brightness in my medium living room. I'd recommend it for college students looking to brighten their dorm rooms but I'd suggest getting an additional floor lamp for larger rooms.

This lamp perfectly met my needs. I wanted a relatively inexpensive lamp, that provided a lot of light, and did not look like garbage. Even though the shades are made of plastic, this lamp looks perfectly fine.

As far as the assembly is concerned, to make it easier to put together, pull on the cord from the base of the lamp to increase the tension and bring the pieces of the lamp together.

I bought one of these in 2005 for my college dorm. It worked fantastic as an alternative to the florescent overhead lights. Great to light my half of the room, also great by the bed, desk, or make-up counter, since it has the side reading lamp. Very easy assembly. The one downside for me was having to eventually move to my home state, and that really took it's toll on this lamp. Upon moving home (in a moving truck, so it wasn't handled with care), the floor lap switch got pushed in making it impossible to turn on. I decided to keep it for the reading lamp, since it was the perfect height to light up my vanity. Then after 7+ years, the plastic lamp shades grew brittle and shattered. Given that it was only ~$30, I definitely feel I got my money's worth with over seven years of use of this lamp, and bought another to replace it. Definitely recommend for those on a budget, just be careful with it if you are moving. Also, use a three way light bulb for the floor lamp, the varying levels of light are great since this lamp can really light up a room.

I've always liked Lampe Berger fragrance lamps since my former MIL bought me one as a Christmas gift years ago. I think they're classier and provide a more subtle fragrance than an oil or wax burner does and they're cleaner burning than candles.

The glass onyx lamp is pretty and understated, so it fits in with just about any decor. I have 3 of them for just that reason.

However, one thing to note is that the "oil" is not really oil it's alcohol based. If you look at the description on the "neutral" fragrance, it's 90% isopropyl alcohol. A bottle of the Lampe Berger branded "oil" is $20, but you can get 90% isopropyl alcohol at any drugstore for around $3 a bottle or less. I buy generic brand alcohol an add a few drops of my own essential oils rather than spend $20-$40 a pop for the branded fragrances. It's just as effective and much less expensive.

I've used the lampe bergers before & been VERY impressed with the purity and strength of the scents. For this reason I'm very disappointed with the lampe I ordered & received here. Shortly after "blowing out" the flame, I'll get a minute to three of muted scent and then... nothing. The ceramic burner is then cool to the touch. It's as though the second phase of burning simply never happens. This is atypical & perhaps I just got a bum burner. I plan to call Amazon on Monday & see how much hassle it is to exchange the burner. The lamp itself is lovely & comparably priced to other simpler Lampe Berger lamps. It's just the burning (& yes it is the L.B. oil) that has been a let down.

Nice fragrance lamp, however, I think it is priced way too high as it is not as pretty as the La Ti lamps, but for some reason, it releases more fragrance than the La Ti Da lamp : )

beautiful fragrance lamp. much bigger than i expected. about the size of a soft ball. the amber color fits in well with any decor making it a beautiful addition to any room i put it in.

I received the Lampe Berger Swirl with Amber Glass in perfect condition. It was extremely well packed. The glass is beautiful, however I didn't care for the silver top. I usualy prefer anything in brown tones with gold or antique gold. I ordered a new antique cold shade plus a black stopper and it looks fantastic. Cost more that way then again sometimes you have to do what you need to get the total effect of what you want. I do wish the merchants would see how rich the glass is with the antique gold instead of silver.
