I purchased two of these lamps for my entertainment room and I adore them. The light they provide is warm and cozy and they work well in a modern setting (especially an Asian-inspired modern setting, which is how I've decorated my home). The price was quite reasonable for such good-quality lamps.

The lamp arrived well packaged and in almost perfect condition. The shipper had poked a hole in the box and luckily that didn't destroy anything. The way the styrofoam packaging is made, a few of the small projections on the bottom rim of the shade (which are the heads of the dragon flies) were bent. I was able to carefully form them back to where they should be with my fingers.

The lamp requires two regular base light bulbs up to 60W and one small based bulb inside the base or main body of the lamp no larger than 25W. Smaller may even be better. I installed a small base 60W candleabra bulb in there and the lamp started to smoke as it got hotter. I'm thinking that perhaps a regular small base night light bulb would be sufficient.

Even though the lamp is advertised as being "American Made" the box says it came from China (as most everything seems to be these days). It may very well be American made glass but the lamp is made in China.

UPDATE! 01-11-2011

My original lamp got knocked over by my nephew during Christmas. I took the lamp to a local stained glass maker and repair shop. They figured that I must have paid at least $500 for the lamp. Although no glass was broken, the cone that supports the lamp shade was badly bent and the insides of the lamp base got knocked loose. The repair shop wanted $250 to repair it! I decided to just buy a brand new one for $150 instead.

I'm actually glad this happened. The new lamp is of a much higher quality than the original lamp was. The glass is formed a lot nicer and it's not flimsy like the original lamp seemed. The manufacturer must have increased their quality control or mine was just made by a Chinese guy that was much better at it.

Anyway, I'm well satisfied with the newest version and would highly recommend them. The packaging was much better also!

i have decided to keep my lamps but they certainly are more green than blue. the wings on the dragon fly appear to be blue but they are an indigo/purple color. i am partial to blue and just wish it was as blue in real life as it did in the online picture.

It's prettier than the photo. It comes with the lamp in the base. There is a main switch on the cord. The max. watt is 60 each for the lamps under the shade.

When you walk around it the light pattern changes. Wonderful.

Immediately disappointed upon opening the package. This was purchased to replace an $18 lamp in which the table clamp had broke on it(the lamp is about a year old & still works great). The replacement clamp cost as much as a new lamp so we decided to try this $52.00 LEDU lamp. This was a mistake. All the joints, base, and the lamp itself are all plastic. The head for the light is very flimsy feeling. It's a lightweight plastic, and sags down putting strain on the plastic post that holds the whole thing up. I don't expect the post to hold the weight of the lamp for very long. The arms are the only metal pieces on the unit. The one positive is that the amount of light and quality of light it gives off is really nice.

The $18.00 lamp that this replaced was totally metal except for the clamp. Why do these companies make plastic clamps? This seems so silly since the clamps are the part that needs to be able to stand up to the weight of the lamp. Very frustrating.

So my advice is to buy the $18.00 Alvin G2540-B Swing Arm Lamp, Black, and also the metal $15.00 Adjustable Lamp Clamp Black .

UPDATE 1-2012 : The light part of the lamp will not stay up. It consistently falls down to within 8 inches of the desk with no way to make it stay up in the correct position. Very expensive garbage.

We use this lamp in our dining room and it is a nice addition. It is more of a muted bronze color than gold, which I am glad about because I prefer the bronze to gold.. The 3 way lighting is also nice we like being able to choose how bright it will be. It's is also sturdy and very attractive.

There isn't a very good description of what these are made of. When I received them, I thought they would be metal & they aren't. Not sure what the material is, but it's not what I was thinking. I like the looks of them, but felt the description was a little misguiding.

I recieved these lamps and was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful they are and how well they look in my living room. They look like fine quality with a little "shabby chic" look to them to make them look older. Everyone is asking me where I bought them. They are the perfect size with the perfect lighting for reading. Can't say enough good things about these lamps and the price was wonderful. To buy these type in a store would have cost so much more .....thank you Amazon.com Sincerely, Bookie613@aol.com

Discount GE Lighting 72306 57-Watt 790-Lumen General Purpose BT14.5 Halogen

Customer Ratings:
List Price: $7.99
Sale Price: $7.63
Today's Bonus: 5% Off

I bought some of these 57 watt halogen bulbs at a local hardware store. I realized afterward that they produce only 790 lumens of light. That seems a steep price to pay for dropping power consumption 3 watts, because the 60 watt version produces 900 lumens. Let's see: 790 lumens / 57 watt = 13.86 lumens per watt, and 900 lumens / 60 watts = 15.00 lumens per watt. Watt for watt this 57 watt bulb is less efficient than the 60 watt 900 lumen version, and may encourage people to substitute a higher wattage bulb which would defeat the purpose. This bulb might be ok if you don't really need a 60 watt 900 lumen bulb, but a 40 watt bulb is not bright enough. Turning off uneeded lamps is a good way to conserve energy rather than making bulbs dimmer.

We use these in our external garage lights and they work great. Nice and bright and their halogen-filled, clear glass chambers make them brighter, or seem brighter, than a regular 60 watt bulb. These are so bright that it is hard to look directly at them for any length of time.

Realspace 24" White Clamp-On Magnifier Task Lamp Led Desk Light Reviews

Customer Ratings:

Bought this from Bazaar51 through Amazon. Worked fine at first, then started flickering after about 6 weeks, after the Amazaon/Bazaar51 30 day return policy expires. Great. I bought it from you but you won't replace it or help with the problem other to write an insipid, stupid, mundane response wheich basically says. "Too bad, so sad, it's your problem." In addition, (1) the cord is much too short.unless you have a plug right next to where you want to put the light, and (2) the clamp will only attach to completely flat surfaces, which are often hard to find (don't try putting it on any surface with a lip on it because the clamp is small and gives little room to fit over any lip of any kind), (3) any angle you would normally be wanting in a flexible lamp like this has to have a lot of unobstructed room to be moved around (which is the whole purpose of buying it, and which most people don't have on their desk because of things like in-boxes or printers, etc.), and (4) they don't bother to tell you in the product information that the LED lights ARE NOT REPLACEABLE. The instructions that come with it have no information about troubleshooting or common repair problems just a number to call the MANUFACTURER (not the seller) for help. Under Amazaon and Bazaar51's policies, that guarantee is good for only 30 days even though the product is supposed to be warranted for 3 years (through manufacturer only). So, if you are going to get a replacement, you better keep a garage full of the boxes it was shipped in, because an odd shaped piece like this makes it difficult to find a box to send it back in. You'd be better off buying from Walmart or Sears, which honor returns with little to no trouble at all. But in any case, I wouldn't buy this product. It stinks and the seller couldn't care less about your problems.

I had an old swivel light that I used when I used my sewing machine. I was having all kinds of problems threading the needle. Didn't realize it was due to such a dim and yellow lamp until I bought this light! Excellent lighting! Also great for cross stitch! I was using a magnefying glass, but this is so much better with the magnifier and the light. A craft person must-have!

This is a nice lamphowever the shade is not as bright as it appears in the picture, it is more of a pinkish beige

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

it's made of cast latex so it's basically plastic. so i think it's overpriced at $280 and the shade isn't amber brown and gorgeous like in the sample photo at all. it's more terra cotta and the wash technique was poorly executed. luckily i'm artistic and can give it an amber wash which should make it more to my liking. but unfortunately most people who buy it may be disappointed in what they get. maybe amber bulbs will help. if it were around $175 i'd have given this lamp 5 stars.

I am so pleased with this lamp. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in the Arts and Crafts style for their decorating. It's VERY heavy!!! A wonderful addition to our home.

Honest reviews on Quoizel Glenhaven 2 Light Table Lamp

My office is done in Art Nouveau style and I needed a replacement for what was the perfect Art Nouveau amber banker's lamp that I realized wasn't UL-listed after it tried to electrocute me. I didn't think I could find anything in that style that I liked as much, but after a long search I found this one and may even like it better. It's compact enough to use as a desk lamp, and plenty bright enough to read by while still delivering soft, warm light, even with CFL bulbs. One warning: the shade is not nearly as dark or mottled looking as the picture here depicts. In the picture it almost looks like a mica shade, but it is not. When not lit, the shade is an even amber color. When lit, it is lighter (duh), and unlike other reviewers, I wouldn't describe it as "pink" at all, just a lighter amber color accented by the same red-brown color as the base. This lamp is sold by many other online retailers and other sites' pictures more accurately represent the shade's color. I'd look at other sites' pictures first before buying here, since Amazon's price is the the same or lower as other retailers I found.

Nice lamps used at bedside tables. Good quality, heavy base and robust glass shade. It does not feel fragile. I ordered two and was a little surprised that there was a different assembly for the shade hardware on each lamp. No big deal as the finished look is the same.
