Packing was good so the lamps (2) came intact. Shades are nice texture but one of the harps doesn't want to stay completely straight. Coloring was as anticipated and complement my room perfectly. One of the lamps is not entirely centered on the base -I'm probably the only one who would notice but it is a QC issue that would seem easy to address. Overall very happy

This is a well built cast aluminum light. The only drawback is that they need to install a built-in electric eye. May cost the customer an extra buck during manufacturing but would be ideal as an outdoor light. Most people do not want an outdoor light to run 24 hours a day.....

I still like the lamp, especially the LED lights, however, it was much smaller than I expected, and it doesn't seem to want to stay in certain positions when I adjust it, which I find a bit annoying. The whole point of getting it was so that I had a way to adjust it. It's not horrible, but I can set it to stay in one position and screw it tight, and it will inevitably return to different angle that's slightly off from what I had adjusted it to almost imediately.

I Love this lamp! This is a replacement for a halogen desk lamp that would just heat up the work space and not give enough light.This Adesso LED is amazing, with its ability to adjust to the perfect position. The little LEDS light up the work space make it so
easy to see everything much more clear. I would recommend this lamp to anyone who is either looking for new lamp or for
a replacement halogen.
It did take a bit of time to receive, but the seller was great about sending an email to let me know what was going on with the

This lamp is almost perfect. I keep a watercolor journal, and enjoy working on it in the morning and evenings in our living room area. I needed a task lamp that would provide directed, true light over my work yet still look nice enough for it to be in our living room. This lamp mostly does the job. The light is great, and it is very attractive. I gave it four stars because I wish it were just a bit more adjustable. It is intended to use on a desk, and would get five stars from me in that setting. I am using it beside a large arm chair, so it is not quite exactly perfect for that space. But close!

We purchased this lamp for use in the corner of our sectional for a reading light. It started out being very simple to install but then when only one of the three holes lined up, it became a bit frustrating. After loosening the screws a few times trying to get it all to realign, it did work. It isn't super tight against the wall but yet it is firm enough to turn on and off without feeling like it is going to fall off. I didn't like the shade that came with it, only because it was a bit large and wide for our area, so I went to Walmart and purchased a more narrow/slim shade that works perfectly. Overall it is a great light that has a nice, smooth swing arm motion with plenty of light for reading. We are quite pleased.

I needed a swinger wall lamp that is white & although the description & photo indicate the item is white, I called 1 Stop Lighting on 10/27/07 and spoke with Jeff Dawe. I asked if the shade & fixture were white or off-white or cream. He checked for me & said it was definitely white. I received the lamp today & the only thing about the lamp that is white is the cord. Now they are making me pay the return shipping. If the company had given me correct info about the product, I never would have bought it & wouldn't have go through the trouble & expense of returning it. This lamp looks good and works well. The only problem is the extension cord permanently attached is black which is terrible unless you have black walls. I had to buy wire covers to pretty them up.The price was good but a little high.

Medusa 3-ball Color Changing Lamp Review
I bought this lamp for my son. He loves it. I love it. It's very sturdy and really neat. Each ball/light has three modes on the base of the ball: the color changing mode, and the mode to keep the ball color the same, and the off (so you don't have to have all the lights on at once). Very cool, especially the color changing mode. We are thrilled with this product...and it came quickly which was great.

Purchased this ceiling fan to be put in an "old world" decor and it compliments the room wonderfully. Installation went well. The fan motor is quiet and the fan was perfectly balanced with no weights required. It was flush mounted for a lower profile but liked the fact that it could also be rod mounted. My only complaint is that the light can only be used as accent lighting. This is NOT a reading light.

Have you ever purchased a ceiling fan, spent an hour installing it, just to hear rattles and the tick, tick of a defective ceiling fan??? Well, that's what you'll get if you purchase this fan. It looks great, but you can't use it. I sent two emails to Monte Carlo with no response. I finally got them to answer the phone. The customer service person and the technical service person were both rude. I purchased two of these fans to go into the same room, so they need to match. The dimensions on this lamp are correct and for the most part the materials are of good quality. However, the binding on the top of the shade is poorly finished and I contacted the company and got no response. I feel that the workmanship was poor enough to have the shade replaced.

This is a great magnifying lamp with very little distortion! The focal range is long and wide due to the shape of the lens. I work on a bead loom with tiny beads and this lamp really helps with eye fatigue. I would highly recommend this lamp for anyone working with detailed items. The lamp head itself is just over 11" wide by 8 1/2" deep, so if your space is limited, this may not be the lamp for you. When not using the magnifier, this makes a great reading or work lamp. This lamp does not fold up flat and tall because the head is too big, but that is not a problem for me. This is a professional quality heavy duty magnifying lamp and I am very pleased with my purchase! Oh, I thought I might explain the word "Diopter" -
Diopter refers to the curvature of a lens. As the diopter increases, the lens becomes thicker and the curvature greater.
As the curvature increases, light rays are redirected to fill a greater portion of the viewer's retina, which makes the object look bigger.
So, the higher the diopter number, the closer you must hold the object to the magnifier because the lens is curved more and the further away from the lens, the more distortion you will get. The lower the diopter number, the lens is less curved and you can hold the object further away from the lens without distortion.
Diopter 3 would be great for reading a book or a letter or fine print etc.,
Diopter 5 you will have to hold that same print closer to the lens so that it does not become distorted, and
Diopter 8 you have a very small window of view without distortion, used mainly for very fine detail held up to the magnifier.
I wanted this magnifier to be about 11" away from my hands and the 5 Diopter with the wide lens appears to be just right for that purpose.
Focal length is the distance from the center of a lens to the point where the light rays converge and the object is in optimal focus (focal point).
This is also known as the "working distance" of the lens.
Focal length is important when the task requires using tools with the object being viewed.
Because focal length decreases as power increases, there is less room to perform work on an object under higher power lenses.
The field of view is the size of the magnified area under the lens that is in focus.
The field of view decreases as power increases.
More powerful lenses make small details look big, but less of the total object is visible.
There is a trade-off for the viewer who must decide between the size of the field of view and amount of magnification.

The lamp could not even hold it's head up and in one place. It kept falling down to the desk top. If I didn't have a solution that would fit my needs I would have send it back. The horizontal arm wasn't able to hold the magnifier off the desk more than a few inches. The vertical arm has a very limited range of motion--about 20 degrees. This piece of workmanship is a horrible purchase. It says a memory thing for holding it's position. I guess they forget to pack a memory chip in mine as it does not hold it's lens up. Secondly, there are no instructions. There is no way for me to figure out how to get this to work the way Amazon says it works. I wish I had not bought it.Thursday, April 10, 2014
