I have purchased over the past few years five of these lamps, two recently from Amazon. So I have had the opportunity to use these lamps for a couple of years. The Grandrich lamps compare favorable to the much more expensive competitors like Verilux. The light is well balanced, bright, and pleasant. This is a great reading lamp.

Assembly of the lamp is easy and takes less than five minutes. All of these lamps have worked without incident right out of the box, and I have never had to return any of them.

Over the course of time I've had to replace a bulb. The bulbs in lamps of these types can be quite expensive. I thought the replacement bulbs purchased from Grandrich were quite reasonable.

I highly recommend this lamp to anyone considering purchasing a natural light lamp, and it is great for reading or doing craft work under it.

Would have given five stars for this very bright, sturdy lamp but the flexible portion of the lamp's neck does not stay in position well after it is adjusted. Primarily, it appears to be due to the fact that the head of the lamp is quite heavy and the neck is simply not sufficiently stiff to hold it firmly in position. Very nice other than that and I like the fact that the bulb does not get hot at all even after hours of operation.

I purchased my first one as a desk lamp, and it quit within the first year. I first noticed the problem when I had to switch it on several times before it would light. It finally quit totally. Thinking it was the bulb, I went back to the store where I purchased it, purchased a bulb, and several more lamps as they were having a closeout sale for nearly the same price as the new bulb. After replacing the bulb, the lamp would still not work. I determined that it was the ballast. I discarded that lamp and used one of the new ones. It is now about six months old and I am having the same problem. I tried calling Grandrich, and the number on the warranty is not a working number. I would be happy with this lamp if it were not for the cheap ballasts that they put in them. The two year warranty is worthless, since I can't get in touch with them. Besides, any DIY guy can replace the ballast himself for the about the price of the postage it would take to send it back, and have a much better lamp. Are they still in business?
