This light, and another design, are great because you have a fairly useful LED within reach for little needs. The light is not that powerful. I placed both the lights on the windowsill. Next time there's a power outage, I am ready with just the power of the sun.

The lamps were delivered rather fast, there was some damage to the lamp shades but didn't bother to contact seller in regards to the damage. The way they packed the lamps was excellent. I am not sure if I would suggest these lamps. I rated them a 3 for it wasn't what I expected for the price in which I paid. They are still nice lamps don't get me wrong.

Nice set of lamps but the lamp shades were far darker than in the picture. Found minor damage on the Lamp shades but I intend to keep them anyway. I rated them a 3 for good reasons, but the were delivered to us rather fast. Over all I would still suggest these lamps to my friends. I wish that they would have had a more finished product, I wouldn't suggest buying this lamp if your looking for some thing different but vintage looking. They don't make things that good anymore it would seem.

Got this lamp today and I am loving it !!! I only have one problem is when I twist the switch to on and off bulbs (Its a 4 way switch :) ) The bigger bulb flashes for second and turns off. But can ignore for this great product. And yah its pretty big lamp.

The lamp was easy to assemble. It came in a cube box weighing about 25 pounds by Fedex.

If you want uber modern without wanting to feel like you're in a Starship Captain's living room or the 1980s, this lamp is perfect.

This was my first "post Ikea 20something life" lamp purchase. I wanted a grown-up bachelorette pad that is very minimalist with only a few pieces with interesting details, everyone else sparse, with only one or spots of femininity. This lamp definitely is for those who want a Bahaus-styled living room.

It reminds me of the polar opposite (new science) of Restoration Hardware's Focault's Gyroscope lamp (dawn of early science), which is a chandelier, around metal gyroscope rings, which is over $1,500 and totally out of my budget range. At $170ish-$300 (Amazon's third party vendors sells it in more reasonable ranges than places elsewhere charging $300 for it).

The shade is actually metallic silver when the lamp is off, which looks great in living rooms of both men and women, because it looks like a stainless steel lamp with a stainless steel lampshade. I was concerned it wouldn't be bright or how proportioned it would be because I couldn't find photos of the lamp in a room vignette. It's very bright. Once the lamp is on, the shade turns opaque and has a greyish tinge with 12-silvery orbs and 12-light bulbs---it looks like a central atom bound to a 12-molecule membered ring floating in an opaque grey box.

The lamp shade does get hot really quickly. I had it on for 3 minutes and it was super hot already. If this lamp lasts without issues for a while, I'll get another floor lamp or a table lamp,to place on a clear acrylic side coffee table (like the ghost chair) or a mirrored Parsons end table.

This is probably not a lamp for a home with lots of clumsy people (ie: people in roommates situations with roommates who bring random people over to "hang out") or children. The lampshade can dent or scratch easily, as it feels like a thicker sheet of metallic sheet or foil.

I'm very happy I discovered Adesso. The company seem to produce moderately priced, great modern lamps without looking too gaudy or so modern it looks like it came from the 1980s.

However, the replacement lightbulbs are very hard to find, even in NYC. Many don't sell incandescent G12 size bulbs---most G12 bulbs are opaque (beige) or clear.

Even Home Depot doesn't carry G12s size bulbs. Online sources can be unreliable when it comes to light bulbs though (broken during transit/shipment).

So make sure you have a reliable source of bulbs if you intend to get this.

My grandson loves this lamp. I like its clean colorful design. My only complaint would be the access to the nightlight in the "cab" of the bulldozer can be opened by a child allowing them to touch the bulb or even worse, remove it from the socket. Some kind of catch would be good there.

I love these lamps, however when I bought them I didn't pay attention to the installation set up as they aren't able to be plugged in to an outlet; they are made for am in-wall electrical setup. So unless you're willing to run electrical hook-up up your wall to install or have already had the hook-up preinstalled you will need to install cords yourself (as my husband did) to be able to plug them into the electrical socket.

I really like the wall-mount swing arm lamps I had purchased a pair years previous for our bedroom that did have the electrical cords, which is why I probably didn't pay as much attention when I purchased these.

Pay close attention to the picture of the item... If it has a straight metal piece coming out at the bottom, they are able to be plugged in at a regular wall outlet if there is no straight metal piece then it is made for an electrical wall mount at the installation site. (Live and learn from my mistake!)

The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars, is because the write-up wasn't that clear that the electrical hook-up must be present in the wall at the place of installation.

I like this product, it worked as advertised and the led light by the switch is helpful in turning on in a dark room. Worked great for a single lamp. I thought it would work plugged into 2 lamps using a splitter but it did not. That was too bad as it fell under the 300W spec but, at the same time I understand, it is a little outside the documented usage.

After reading the reviews of this item, I was a bit apprehensive about trying it out. After plugging it in, however, apprehension became joy! Allow me to preface my findings by saying that I am using the two I bought to dim hanging lamps that have one e12 candelabra bulb each in them... so we are not taxing the advertised capabilities at all. The action is smooth with very little or no "snap-on" that is warned about in other reviews. It just cycles cleanly from off through very dim to fully bright. There is no noise at all from them. No buzzing, no hum, no nothing. If you want to dim your bedside lamp, or any plug-in lamp, for that matter, try one of these. I paid less than six bucks a-piece, and they absolutely could not do a better job.

I bought 2 of these after searching for bedside lamps with dimmers, etc, to no avail. I set up one on each side of our bed. We can turn on a lamp just enough to find tissues, etc, or bright enough to read without disturbing each other. No clicking on and off and no more waking each other up with the touch-lamp which has to cycle up to full light before going off. I also like that there's a tiny red light on the unit which helps to locate it in the dark. Bought TWO of these for the same price as ONE at the local hardware store! A great invention!!

I have always love the Ottlite because the light doesn't hurt your eyes like a lot of white lights out there that are desk size.

Ottlites are usually really expensive at the craft store for at least twice as much as what Amazon is selling them for (for the same model lamps).

So the price (when I purchased them) were great!

The lights is white and doesn't hurt your eyes.

Now on to the bad stuff:

I wish that the light was either brighter or longer (sideways) to cover more workspace. I ended up having to purchase 2 of these lights to cover my small little desk space (about 2 feet deep by 4 feet long table).

One light was not giving me enough light source that I need. The lights do not hurt my eyes after working under it for a long time. But because it wasn't long enough, and it was a small desk light, it wasn't lighting enough surface areas for me.

The design is not very stable so it has fallen off my desk a few times. And each fall, the lamp would come to pieces. But the pieces do snap back together.

The pen holder area in the front area of the lamp is a joke. It is not deep enough to hold anything (not even a pen) very well. Because it was too shallow, my pens keep falling out. I don't keep anything in there but coins, and even those fall out.

Still is a great lamp because there is nothing out there that is better. Not the best, but this is all that I was able to find for the price.

I'm giving it 4 stars because it does what it is supposed to do and love that it doesn't hurt my eyes. But it doesn't deserve the 5 stars because it needs to be better built for quality and the light source should be longer to cover more work area space. And because I have to purchase 2 lights instead of just one to cover a small area.

I had purchased a similar product (from Amazon) a year ago that had 20 LEDs. And it worked fine, even on long-expired Duracell batteries. So, I was dubious of this "30" LED version...thinking that it was just a gimmick, and that it wouldn't realy be any brighter (...oftentimes, in such products, more LEDs just means that the battery power is re-distributed...with no increase in brighteness). But for the price (and you can't beat it for what it does), I took a chance. And I was pleasantly surprised that it DOES put out more light than even the 20 LED version I have. (By the way, before Amazon had them, I bought a similar model at a 'major' discount store, and it wasn't nearly as bright as the ones I got from Amazon.)

After the last three-day power outage, I decided to buy yet another light for the next time. I bought the SE 20 LED light previously and have had a good experience with it. For a little more money I decided to buy the 30 LED light this time.

The light is powered by 3 D batteries which are inserted into the lamp's base. On the back of the lamp's neck is the on/off switch, ergonomically designed to be pressed with one's thumb while grasping the neck.

Conveniently the head has an 180 degree adjustable head for exact control of the light direction. The box erroneously states that the lamp has three settings 10 LED's on, 30 LED's on and All LED's on. What's strange is that with 30 LEDs in the head, if 30 are on then all are on. Thus only two settings are actually available.

I compared the brightness of this 30 LED lamp to our 20 LED lamp and think it is significantly brighter. If you are trying to decide between the 20 and 30 LED lamps, definitely choose the 30 LED. The extra brightness is well worth the small difference in price.

I now have three of these. I originally purchased for emergency light in case of power failure, but now I use for all kinds of chores around the house. It's perfect with a heavy base and tilting head to put light where you want it. I went for the three D cell batteries for their capacity/life. If you want an outdoor flashlight, this isn't it (get one with a focused beam and 100+ lumens or so). The price is also great at about $8.00 (anybody know why the 20 LED lamp costs more?). My only complaint is the switch; you have to cycle through it to get to the high or low setting. I'd prefer a separate switch for high/low with the main switch for on/off.

Now, I have no illusions that you could drop this plastic lamp and still expect it to work. Also, the plastic hook would be better omitted (since you may be tempted to use it).

I would recommend the lamp to anyone (after they read my comments above).

It is really cute and it has a very bright light so I can see very easily in the dark. I also love that it is bejeweled because I really like sparkly stuff so that is a plus!! It can bend in each different direction so that works out good, this would be a good present to a girl that really likes to read.
